Investigating the Efficiency of Various Consumer-acceptance Testing Methods while Developing a Ready-to-eat Meal (덮밥류 편의식에 대한 효과적인 소비자 조사 기법 비교연구)

  • A taste-testing method that accurately measures consumer-acceptance is critical during the course of the product development stage. Although various types of consumer-acceptance tests are available, the testing protocol appropriate for measuring the acceptance of ready-to-eat-meals (REM) has not yet been verified. In this study, various hedonic taste-testing methods (9-point hedonic scaling, best-worst scaling, open ended response) were compared for their efficiency and power in identifying the preferred REM menu of consumers. Forty-four consumers evaluated the acceptance of five types of REM menu samples consisting of a wide variety of flavors. Consumers initially used the 9-point hedonic rating method to choose the best and the worst sample among the 5 meals tested. Finally, consumers were asked to fill out open-ended comments where they could freely describe their liking and disliking of each sample. The results showed that the REM menu acceptance measured by the 9-point hedonic method that rated best-worst scaling exhibited a similar preference pattern. The open-ended response method could not provide a quantifiable acceptance data but was able to provide supplementary information regarding the limitations of the samples and therefore, provide a general idea of the direction of improvement during the product development.

  • The discussions on Korean advertisement have been continued since 1980's. Comparing with other fields, years of research had not bear as fruitful achievements as we expected. The present situation where korean own culture has been disappearing day by day, this thesis will have significant meaning by investigating Korean culture and advertisement reflecting its culture. This thesis put emphasis on consumers who have been neglected by discussions. So I intended to study the expression of Korean advertisement and their attitudes focused on celluar phone. To investigate their attitudes, I first settled the concept of Korean Advertisement, then posed questions for identifying a shift in their altitudes. As a result of posing questions, I can see that they take friendly attitudes toward Korean advertisement regardless of their ages. And the younger they are, the less they are friendly with advertisement. The element of appeal was differentiated between ages and appeal by korean own sentiment is more effective. I think this outcome verifies the necessity to have concerns on Korean advertisement and make distinct advertisement strategy keeping step with advertisement targets.

  • This study aims to figure out how the brand experience design elements works in the Shortform video-based branding through case analysis. The sense, feel, think, act, relate experience of Shortform video brand are provided through the implementation of specific experience design elements in the process of the creators expressing personality through social media channels and communicating and interacting with consumers. As a result, LIZIQI's food videos provided a brand identity as an 'Eastern gourmet' to consumers through the audiovisual stimulation of food in video, the cognitive reinforcement which is combined of identities and products, and the behavioral participation by web sites·electronic media. In addition, a strong brand relationship was established by sharing emotional ties using human factors and responsibility through co-branding. This can be extended to various Shortform video contents-based branding cases, and it will suggest a useful approach to the brand building strategy through strategic brand experience design elements.

  • Green consumption has drawn attention from various sectors of society recently. However, the "mismatch" of awareness and behavior remains despite consumers' heightened environment-friendly awareness. Based on the theory of emotional cognition and cognitive dissonance, This study examined the impact of consumers' expected guilt on green consumption intentions, and also introduced consumer cognitive utility to further uncover the mechanism in the process of influence by a survey of young Chinese people born after the 80s. Path analysis and hypothesis verification using AMOS showed that consumers' expected guilt not only directly affects the intention of green consumption, but also indirectly affects the intention of green consumption through the intermediation of cognitive utility.

  • The study empirically explored factors influencing How storytelling factors in social networking services, SNS, affect consumer response on the uses and gratification theory. conducted an analysis of 120 university students attending universities in the Seoul metropolitan area using an experiment. The results of this study are as follows: first, The storytelling factors, relevance and veracity have a positive effect on clarity. second, it has been shown that only veracity has a positive effect on parai-social interaction with media figures with emotional attachment. third, para-social interactions have been shown to influence content attitudes and orality sequentially. This study deals with the effect of SNS storytelling on the consumer's part, providing practical implications for enhancing content attitudes and word-of-mouth, by increasing para-social interactions with consumers while identifying the components that should enhance the way SNS is delivered in terms of storytelling.

  • The boycott of Japanese products triggered by Japan's economic retaliation has heated up the Republic of Korea. This study examined the factors affecting the boycott participation intention in 217 college students and ordinary people in their 20s and 30s. The results of the study showed that perceived egregiousness, self-efficacy, and subjective norm had a positive effect on boycott participation intention, and perceived egregiousness had an indirect effect on boycott participation intention through anger. In addition, these overall impacts were moderated by online and SNS news usage. This study is significant in providing academic and practical implications for understanding boycott phenomena by verifying various influencing factors on consumer boycott intentions and comprehensively reviewing the mediating effect of anger and the moderating effect of online and SNS news usage.

The Effect of Service Experience on Behavioral Loyalty in Luxury Restaurant Service Setting : The Causal Role of Cognitive Satisfaction and Emotional Attachment (고급레스토랑의 서비스경험이 행동충성도에 미치는 영향 : 인지만족과 정서애착의 인과적 역할)

  • Due to long-term social distancing due to the spread of COVID-19, business trends of restaurant companies are being implemented in accordance with the changed environment such as packaging and subscription. However, even in this environment, upscale restaurants are generating high profits by trying to differentiate themselves from existing restaurants by providing high-quality services with the best facilities. Therefore, this study describes how customers' experience of upscale restaurant service influences behavioral loyalty. That is, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of service experience on cognitive satisfaction and emotional attachment, and to examine the causal role of cognitive satisfaction and emotional attachment by confirming the relationship between these constructs and relationship commitment and behavioral loyalty. To verify this, data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 300 consumers who recently used a upscale restaurant. Of the collected data, 275 copies(91.6%) were used for the final analysis, and inaccurate or erroneous data among 25 response sheets were excluded. In this study, the validity and reliability of the data were checked and the research hypothesis was verified by using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20 statistical package. Frequency analysis was performed to confirm the demographic characteristics of the respondent. Structural equation model analysis(SEM) was used to confirm the fit of the research model and to verify the research hypothesis. As a result of the research hypothesis analysis, it was found that service experience had a positive effect on cognitive satisfaction, and cognitive satisfaction had a positive effect on emotional attachment, relationship commitment, and behavioral loyalty. Also, it was found that emotional attachment had a positive effect on relationship commitment and behavioral loyalty, and relationship commitment had a positive effect on behavioral loyalty. However, service experience did not affect emotional attachment. With this study, marketers and managers of upscale restaurants such as hotel restaurants need to accurately select their target audience, understand their service needs, and then present the appropriate service to them. In addition, they should not only induce cognitive satisfaction by providing excellent service to their customers, but also identify moments of truth and present appropriate services so that satisfied customers can strengthen their emotional attachment. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the relationship with their firms by forming friendly relationships with customers who have high emotional attachment, and also to induce relationship commitment so that such customers have a strong sense of belonging and attachment to their firms.

  • 본 논문은 소비자의 리뷰 데이터를 기반으로 한 새로운 감성 분석 방법을 제안한다. 긍정, 부정, 중립으로 분류하는 전통적 감성 분석방법은 텍스트에 나타난 감정의 섬세한 차이를 파악하기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구에서는 GPT 모델을 사용하여 텍스트에서 사용자의 감정을 8 가지의 카테고리로 세분화한다. 부정적 정서를 가진 리뷰에서 분노, 혐오, 실망과 같은 구체적인 감정들을 직관적으로 파악할 수 있었고, 감정의 강도까지 파악할 수 있었다. 제안된 방법을 통해 기업은 고객의 요구 사항을 정확하게 인지할 수 있으며, 고객 맞춤형 서비스 개선에 기여할 수 있다는 점이 기대된다.

The effect of a low-sodium label on acceptability and perceived saltiness intensity of a dipping sauce for fried pork cutlets (저염 표시가 포크커틀릿 소스의 짠맛 인식과 기호도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a low-sodium label on acceptability and sensory attributes of a dipping sauce for fried pork cutlets. Two sauce samples, CON (normal sodium level) and LOW-Na (50% sodium level), were evaluated. Consumers (n=77) rated expectations and actual perception of overall liking, purchase intent, and intensities of saltiness, sweetness, sourness, fruit flavor, and degree of flavor balance without and with a carrier (fried pork cutlet) in blind and informed settings. In the informed test, CON labeled as Low-Na (PLACEBO) was additionally tested to examine the placebo effect of information. The low-sodium labeling significantly increased the expected liking and purchase intent, but decreased the expected saltiness. However, the label did not influence actual liking or purchase intent. A significant decrease in actual saltiness was observed only in Low-Na, not in PLACEBO, indicating the label is influential only when actual perception matched the expectation.
