An Explorative Study of R&D Priority based on Needs Attributes Model: Case of SMART TV (니즈속성의 중요성과 시급성에 의한 R&D 우선순위 결정에 관한 탐색 연구: SMART TV를 중심으로)

  • Products elicit the consumer's purchasing behavior by satisfying their needs and are cognized as the combination of various needs attributes. Also R&D is referred as a series of technical development activities to meet the consumer's needs attributes. In particular, in the market-oriented R&D era, it could obtain the legitimacy by developing the R&D based on the needs attributes. In this study, we aimed to investigate the priority setting in R&D field, considering consumer's needs attributes. To be concrete, we tried to present the evolutional direction of desirable phased R&D according to 'the importance degree for consumers on the attributes (functions) of the certain products' and 'the urgency degree of technical quality to fulfill its needs'. To achieve this, we targeted SMART TV, the convergence product, which contains the uncertainty in terms of marketability and technological aspect, and analyzed the priority of the R&D in SMART TV field. Based on the result of the analysis, 4-steps product concept (ultra high definition TV, interactive TV, 3D/immersive TV, personalized TV) is derived by analyzing the evolutional direction of R&D in SMART TV field. This finding implies that the success possibilities of product could be enhanced during the process of the evolution of products that have multiple needs attributes, by pursuing the R&D which fulfills the needs attribute first required in the market. In addition, it provides a useful framework to design the R&D roadmap in an aspect of R&D strategy.

  • As the Production technology Progresses, the necessity to consider consumers needs being complex and diverse in the phase of developing product is being more important. However, existing system of consumers needs being structured with the view of marketing is too abstractive and categorical to apply in the phase of developing product. So, the goal of this study is to establish method that structuralize customer's needs for applying practically in the phase of the product concept development and to suggest guidelines to needs structuralization with emphasis on the view of cognitive science/cognitive psychology. The major findings of this study is summerized as follows. First, to structuralize not only customer's needs category which being used as standard to assort needs in existing way but also practical needs features, it must contain the concept of emotion that is actual product's meaning to customers in its structure, and for this reason, the structuralized needs with emotions can be defined as emotional needs structure. Second, categorization of concept will be divided as essential concept and referential concept centering around symbolic concept, and from this supposition, emotional needs structure can be composed as benefit concept(essential concept), customer needs(referential concept) centering around emotion(symbolic concept).

  • 본 연구는 음식물처리기 제품품질을 구성하는 차원 및 속성을 VOC(voice of customer)분석을 통해서 도출하고 소비자의 특성에 따라 음식물 처리기 제품품질 속성의 중요도 차이에 대한 분석과 고객만족에 영향을 미치는 품질속성에 대하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 소비자의 특성에 따라 음식물 처리기 제품품질 속성의 중요도의 차이와 고객만족에 영향을 미치는 품질속성을 도출하였으며, 본 연구 결과는 향후 음식물 처리기 제품개발에 고객의 니즈를 반영하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

A Study on the Effects of Overseas Direct Purchase Content Attributes and Logistics Attributes on Consumer's Perceived Value and Purchase Intention (해외직구 콘텐츠 속성과 물류 속성이 소비자의 지각된 가치 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • With the development of information and communication technology, borders are removed and consumer needs are diversified, so a new consumption form called overseas direct purchase has emerged and has been growing over the past few years. In this study, for the most common purchasing agency service among various types of overseas direct purchase, an empirical study was conducted on the effects of the content and logistics attributes of the overseas direct purchase platform on the perceived value and purchase intention of consumers. Data were collected from 273 domestic male and female adult consumers who had experience in information search related to overseas direct purchase, and the results of statistical analysis were summarized as follows. First, among the attributes of overseas direct purchase content and logistics attributes, only the attractiveness of content had a significant effect on the perceived value of consumers. Second, all perceived values of consumers were linked to purchase intentions, but among them, sensory values had a greater influence. Through these research results, it is suggested to increase the attractiveness of the web/app contents of overseas direct purchase service agents, and to improve the quality of services that can arouse sensory consumption experiences to meet the changing needs of consumers.

  • This article suggest a research method to extract user needs for designing social interface of a service robot. We first discuss social design issues for the service robot. Then we present a novel survey method for the service robot based on the social design issues and robot characteristics. Finally we discuss survey results, answered by Korean customers, of functional needs, social characteristics, product design for a home service robot. It is analyzed that Korean customers expect the image of home service robot as “a late teenager female who helps household work effectively”

  • Industrial design aiming the mutual benefit of both user and manufacturer demands grasping and analyzing the needs and wants of consumer for the establishment of the optimum plan and production by attribute oriented approach. Inspite of its usefulness, however, it might be impossible to help industrial designers to develop a new product effectively without full understanding of industrial design activity in attributes of products and using the appropriate methodology for grasping the major attributes. This thesis is purposed for developing the guideline of research models of consumer for industrial by studying characteristics of industrial design activity in attributes of products through bibliography and defining the clear limit of design research focused on consumer selection through comparison with real purchase decision making procedure at every phase. Through the observation and analysis of the real purchase decision making procedure following the proposed guideline, the possibility of difference between the two cases has been shown in both theoretical and practical aspects.

  • IT기술의 발전과 스마트기기의 대중화로 인한 정보통신기술의 눈부신 발전으로 온라인 플랫폼을 통한 식품구매 비중이 급격히 증가하여 온·오프라인의 경계를 없어지고 있다. 더군다나 COVID-19 팬데믹은 반조리식품, 밀키트 등 홈쿡(Home-cook) 온라인시장을 급격히 확산시키며 소비자 구매추세를 오프라인에서 온라인으로 완전히 바꿔놓는 전환점이 되었다. 이런 트랜드를 반영하듯 다양한 온라인 식자재 이커머스 플랫폼의 출현하면서 브랜드마다 각각의 차별점을 내세우고 있으나 경쟁은 치열해지고 차별화는 더욱 어려운 게 현실이다. 이는 기업이 소비자에게 일방향으로 정보 또는 상품 및 서비스를 제공 하는 수직적 관계가 아닌, 수평적 쌍방향 관계로의 발전으로 이어져 브랜드가 가지고 있는 가치에 대해 보다 정직하게 보여주어야 소비자의 신뢰를 얻을 수 있게 되었다(Kotler, 2017). 또한, 과거에 소비자들의 만족도가 높았던 서비스도 현재 환경에서는 소비자의 니즈를 충족시키지 못하는 경우가 증가하고 있다(조윤오, 2018). 이는 서비스에 대한 소비자의 기대와 니즈가 지속적으로 변화하고 있다는 것을 의미하며, 이에 따라 기업은 소비자들의 새로운 요구를 만족시키기 위하여 다양한 서비스를 개발 및 제공하는 것이 중요하다고 사료된다(김광재 등, 2011). 이미 높은 인지도를 가진 플랫폼일지라도 지속가능한 우위를 선점하기 어려운 상황에서 온라인 플랫폼에 대한 소비자의 긍정적인 태도와 재구매를 유도하기 위해 제품 본질 뿐 아니라 서비스 차별화를 꾀하고 있고 차별화된 포지션을 차지하기 위해 온라인 플랫폼에 대한 소비자 인식과 서비스 품질 요인을 측정하여 고객이 중시하는 요인에 집중하는 것이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 식자재를 구매하는 소비자의 꾸준한 방문과 구매를 유인하기 위해 어떤 변수의 영향력을 높여야 소비자 재구매의도를 증가시킬 수 있는지 방법을 모색하고 온라인 플랫폼 기업 및 스타트업의 경영전략 마련에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 식자재 구매 플랫폼 품질속성, 서비스품질 정도,, 충성도의 전반적인 영향관계를 파악하는 연구 과제를 설정하고, 식자재 이커머스 온라인 플랫폼 이용 전반에 대한 평가를 실시할 예정이다. 이러한 과정을 통해 도출된 결과는 식자재 이커머스 플랫폼 운영 전략을 세우는데 유용한 자료가 될 것이라 기대하며, 기존의 온라인 식품구매 플랫폼의 서비스품질 요인과 소비자 행동 간의 관계를 설명하는 것과는 다른 새로운 시사점을 제공할 수 있다는 측면에서 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다. 또한, 다양한 산업에서의 플랫폼 비지니스 모델 적용을 위한 전략 수립을 하는 데에 필요한 기초자료를 마련하고자 한다.

  • 최근 제품개발의 동향은 소비자 각각의 특성에 맞춘 "맞춤 컨셉"을 가진 제품 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다는 점이다. 특히 그 어떤 제품보다도 소비자가 사용 시 느끼는 관능특성과 그에 대한 만족도가 중요시되는 화장품의 경우는 더욱 그러하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이미 대중화 된 베이스 메이크업과 립 메이크업 외에 최근 소비자들의 관심이 증가하고 있는 마스카라를 대상으로 한국 여성들에게 맞는 마스카라의 특성을 파악하고, 그 관능특성을 분석하여 한국 여성들의 니즈에 맞는 제품을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 한국 여성들의 눈과 속눈썹 모양에 대한 조사에서는 클러스터 분석을 통해 대표적인 눈과 눈썹의 형태를 4가지 그룹으로 나누고, 각 그룹의 특성에 맞는 마스카라의 기능을 제안하였다. 그런 후, 전문패널을 대상으로 여러 기능의 마스카라를 이용해 마스카라의 관능특성을 평가하여 상기의 조사에서 나온 4가지 그룹에 대한 각각의 적합한 사용감을 제안하였다. 본 결과는 차후 소비자 특성에 맞는 마스카라 제품 개발 시 활용될 것이다.

Evaluating Choice Attributes of Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup as a Home Meal Replacement (HMR) Product Using Conjoint Analysis: A Case Study of Singapore Market (컨조인트 분석을 이용한 삼계탕 간편가정식의 선택속성 분석: 싱가포르 시장을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the attributes considered important by Singaporeans in the selection of Korean ginseng chicken soup as an HMR product using conjoint analysis techniques. Methods: A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed to local consumers in April 2012, of which 324 were completed (81.0%). Statistical analyses of data were performed using SPSS/Windows 18.0 for descriptive statistics and conjoint analysis. Results: Analysis of the attributes and levels of Korean ginseng chicken soup as an HMR product for people who lived in Singapore showed the relative importance of each attribute as follows: packing (32.4%), chicken (32.1%), glutinous rice (13.8%), soup (11.6%), and ginseng (10.0%). Results showed that Singaporean consumers preferred code J's Korean ginseng chicken soups as an HMR product, which consisted of half a chicken, glutinous rice, a whole ginseng root in a soy sauce-based soup, and a partially transparent package. The most preferred Korean ginseng chicken soup gained 50.4% potential market share from choice simulation when compared with the second preferred one. Conclusion: This study has significance in that such a practical research contributes to product development of a specific Korean dish for foreign consumers. In addition, the results of this study provide useful information for the food industry for global expansion and commercialization of Korean food, thereby providing an important foundation for future development of various Korean foods as HMR products.

The Prioritized Traits of Brand Association Initiating Consumers' Preference on Fine Dining selection (고급 레스토랑 선택에 있어서 브랜드 연상 속성의 우선순위 연구)

  • As consumers are more conscious about the preferred traits and branding in restaurant selection, restaurant practitioners are getting more interested in the traits which constitute and influence consumers' brand association. Dining selection is known to be a complicated psychological process that consumers undergo, incorporating social and cultural values, personal tastes, and other psychological factors. This study was designed to investigate the specific non-food traits perceived by consumers in fine restaurant selection. Also, it prioritized those examined traits. Building on exploratory qualitative research, results from 11 interviews through focus group sessions were utilized in data analysis. Content analysis of the interviews enabled categorization of the associations. The categorized variables were utilized for empirical data analysis of conjoint analysis. First, the results suggested five superior traits such as atmosphere, price, customer relations, employee competence, and convenience of systems in fine restaurant brand association. Second, they were prioritized in the order of atmosphere, price, consumer relations, employee competence, and convenience. Finally this study provided practical implications for fine restaurant professionals in linking consumers' psychologically networked traits to brand selection.
