Studies on mulberry tree years and mulberry fruit yield and mulberry popcorn disease and sales price (뽕나무 수령 및 오디 생산성, 오디균핵병 및 가격비교 연구)

  • Though mulberry fruit is known to a by-product that was produced from mulberry tree after harvesting leaves for silkworm rearing, as a yield and consumption of mulberry fruit was increased, it has been fixing to a new income crop. But, a stable production of mulberry was issued on damage by the weather disaster, so it is requires that agricultural disaster insurance import. So, in this study as a basic research for a importation of agricultural disaster insurance, the cultivation of mulberry for the production of mulberry fruits, the shape of tree, the number of a bearing fruit from each cultivar, the occurrence of mulberry fruit sclerotic disease, and a yield and the market price of mulberry fruits were investigated and that results obtained were as follows; The number of mulberry tree each 10a was abundant in Buan and Jeongeup region that cultivated a suitable cultivar on low cut shape, however, a large cultivated Gochang region was little. The number of a bearing fruit per 1m on the branch was highest in the variety of Cheongilppong at Gochang. Yield of mulberry fruits each 10a was Cheongilppong at Gochang, followed by Iksuppong at Sangju. Average sale price of the mulberry fruits was high in the order of Gwasang No. 2, Suwonppong, Iksuppong, and Cheongilppong.

Oxidation of Geosmin and 2-MIB in Water Using $O_3/H_2O_2$: Kinetic Evaluation (오존과 과산화수소를 이용한 Geosmin과 2-MIB 산화: 동력학적 평가)

  • Unpleasant tastes and odors in drinking water cause same problems for water utilities across Korea. Even though tastes and odors do not create health problems, they are main concerns for consumers who determine the safety of their drinking water. In this study, two different odor producing compounds(geosmin 2-MIB) in the Nakdong river water and rapid sand filtered rater were treated by advanced oxidation of $O_3/H_2O_2$ process. The experimental results showed that the removal efficiency of geosmin with the use of 5 mg/L of $O_3$ and $H_2O_2$ was higher than efficiency with the use of $O_3$ alone for both the raw water and the sand filtered water. And in general, the removal efficiency of geosmin was higher than 2-MIB in the sand filtered water. Under the range of $O_3$ concentration $0.5\sim2.0$ mg/L, the removal rate constants(k) of geosmin for the raw and sand filtered waters, and the one of 2-MIB in the sand filtered water were increased rapidly as doses of $O_3$, and $H_2O_2$, increased. The removal rate constants(k) do not increase any more when $H_2O_2/O_3$ ratio increases above the optimum ratio. The optimum ratio of $H_2O_2/O_3$, dose was $1.0\sim2.0$ for both geosmin and 2-MIB. The removal rate constant(k) becomes lower when OH radical consuming materials are present in raw water. The half-life of geosmin decreased rapidly as the $O_3$ and $H_2O_2$ doses increase in the sand filtered water. The half life decreased about 8.5 times with the use of 2 mg/L of $O_3$ and 10 mg/L of $H_2O_2$ than with the use of 2 mg/L of $O_3$ alone for the sand filtered water.

  • This study was carried out to enhance the competitiveness of blackbox design for domestic and international companies, based on the explosive growth of the blackbox market due to development of blackbox design for vehicle accident prevention and post-treatment. In the past, the blackbox market has produced products indiscriminately to meet the ever-increasing demand of consumers. Therefore, we thought a new design method was necessary to effectively investigate the needs of rapidly changing consumers. In this study, we aimed to identify the best-selling blackbox to understand the design flow, and the optimum area for a blackbox, considering the uniqueness of associated vehicle. Based on discussion with blackbox design experts, we studied the direction of design and the problems with blackbox use, which were reflected in blackbox development. Through this research, two types of design - leading blackbox (A type) and mass production blackbox (B type) - were proposed for compatibility of the blackbox with the car. The leading type of blackbox was positioned so that it was wrapped with the room mirror hinge before the screw was fastened, in order to achieve an integrated design. Therefore, we designed an integrated form and resolved the placement problem of an adhesive blackbox. To blend, the mass production blackbox implemented material and surface processing in the same way with the car, and adopted the slide structure to automatically turn off the main body power when removing the SDcard, reflecting consumer needs. This study considers evolving consumer needs through a case study and collective intelligence and deals with implementation of the whole design process during mass production. In this study, we aimed to strengthen the competitiveness of the blackbox design based on design method and its realization.

  • The Korean distribution industry is gearing up for an endless competition. Greeting low growth era, less competitive parties will be challanged seriously for their survival. But for large discount stores, they have shown steady annual growth for years. However, because of the saturation for numbers of stores, the difficulty of gaining new sites, and the changes in the consumer's consumption behavior caused by the recession, now they are seeking for a new customers-based business formats. Accordingly, a large corporate comopanies made supermarkets which are belonged to affiliated companies of large corporate comopanies. They based on the strong buying power, focused on SSM(Super Super Market) ave been aggressively develop nationwide multi-stores. The point is that these stores are threatening at small and medium-sized, community-based private supermarkets. Private supermarkets and retailers, who are using existing old operation systems and their dilapidated facilities, are losing a competitive edge in business. Recent the social effects of large series of corporate supermarkets for traditional markets has been very controversial, and commercial media, academia, and industry associated with it have been held many seminars and public hearings. This may slow down the speed in accordance with the regulations, but will not be the crucial alternative. The reason for this recent surge of enterprise-class SSM up, one of the reasons is a stagnation in their offline discount mart, so they are finding new growth areas. Already in the form of large supermarkets across the country got most of the geographical centre point and is saturated with stages. Targeting small businesses that do not cover discount Mart, in order to expand business in the form of SSM is urgent. By contrast, private supermarkets are going to lose their competitiveness. The vulnerability of individual supermarkets, one of the vulnerabilities is price which economies of scale can not be realized so they are purchasing a small amount of products and difficult to get a quantity discount. The lack of organization and collaboration, and education which is not practical, caused the absencer of service-oriented situations. As a first solution, making specialty shops which are handling agricultures, fruits and vegetables and manufactured goods is recommended. Second, private supermarkets franchisees join the organization for the organization and collaboration is recomaned. It can be meet the scale of economy and can be formed a alternative business formats to a government. Third, the education is needed as a good service will get consumer's awareness. In addition, a psychological stores operating is also one way to stimulate consumer sentiment as SSM can't operate. Japan already has a better conditions of their lives through small chain expression. This study includes the vulnerabilities of private supermarkets, and suggests a competitiveness reinforcement strategies.

Behavior of Campylobacter jejuni Biofilm Cells and Viable But Non-Culturable (VBNC) C. jejuni on Smoked Duck (훈제오리에서 캠필로박터균 생물막 및 Viable But Non-Culturable(VBNC) 상태에서의 행동특성)

  • Biofilm cells and viable but non-culturable (VBNC) state may play a role in the survival of Campylobacter jejuni under unfavorable environmental conditions. The objective of this study was to investigate the behavior of C. jejuni biofilm cells and VBNC cells on smoked duck. The transfer of C. jejuni biofilm cells to smoked duck and its ability to resuscitate from biofilm and VBNC cells on smoked duck was investigated. Transfer experiments were conducted from C. jejuni biofilm cells to smoked duck after 5 min, 1 h, 3 h, and 24 h contact at room temperature, and the efficiency of transfer (EOT) was calculated. In addition, smoked duck was inoculated with C. jejuni biofilm and VBNC cells and then stored at 10, 24, 36, and $42^{\circ}C$ to examine the cells' ability to resuscitate on smoked ducks. The 5 min contact time between C. jejuni biofilm cells and smoked duck showed a higher EOT (0.92) than the 24 h contact time (EOT=0.08), and the EOT decreased as contact time increased. Furthermore, C. jejuni biofilm cells on smoked duck were not recovered at 10, 24, and $36^{\circ}C$, and C. jejuni VBNC cells were not resuscitated at $42^{\circ}C$. Although the resuscitation of C. jejuni biofilm and VBNC cells was not observed on smoked duck, microbial criteria of C. jejuni is needed in poultry and processed poultry products due to risk of its survival and low infectious dose.

Elementary School Students' Amounts of Sugar, Sodium, and Fats Exposure through Intake of Processed Food (초등학생의 주요 가공식품으로부터 섭취하는 당, 나트륨, 지방류 등의 노출실태 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the extent of excessive sugar, sodium, cholesterol, and saturated fat consumptions by elementary school students through processed food's intake. A survey study was conducted with 384 fourth and sixth grade students and their mothers from two schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. The data were analyzed for the frequency analysis, chi-square test and Pearson correlation using the SPSS/Windows (ver. 15.0). Results showed that students consumed high amounts of sugars through processed milk and carbonated beverages, and yogurt. Additionally, they had high sodium and saturated fat levels in their diet through Ramen. There was significant correlation (p<0.01) between mothers' purchasing and students' intake of processed food. Overall, both students and mothers had some knowledge on the impact of sodium on human health. About 50 percent of the respondents did not have accurate information about cholesterol, saturated fat, and trans fat. More than 50 percent of students and mothers had no nutritional education on the risk of excessive intake of sugar, sodium, cholesterol, saturated fat, and trans fat. Top twenty percent of the students had 39.7 g of sugar, 940.1 mg of sodium, 17.8 mg of cholesterol, and 11.2 g of saturated fat through processed foods per day on the average. These results suggest that execution of nutritional education about processed food is needed for high risk group of elementary school students and their mothers. Moreover, government must enact the regulation and policy for the food industry to reduce the risky nutrients from children's favorite processed food.

  • With petroleum being a major source of energy in Korea, the quantity of petroleum transported via ocean routes is on its way up due to increased consumption. Due to the increase, more than 300 cases of pollution caused by petroleum occur annually. Moreover, the number of oil-spill accidents is also on the rise. Causes of such accidents, not including the disposal of waste oil on purpose, turn out to be human error during navigation or defects in the vessels, showing that most accidents are caused by humans. Therefore, to prevent future oil spills, it is imperative that navigation efficiency be enhanced by improving the quality of navigators and replacing old vessels with newer ones. Nevertheless, such improvements cannot occur overnight, so long- and mid-term efforts should be made to achieve it institutionally. As large-scale oil-spill accidents can happen at anytime along the coastal waters of Korea, it is necessary to set-up institutional devices which go beyond the compensation limit of 92FC. The current special law regarding this issue has its limits in that it prescribes compensation be supplemented solely by national taxes. Therefore, the setting-up of a new 'national fund' is recommended for consideration rather than to subscribe to the '2003 Convention for the Supplementary Fund'. It is strongly suggested that a National fund be created from fees collected from oil companies based on the risks involved in oil transportation and according to the profiteers pay principle. In addition, a public fund should be created to handle general environmental damage, such as the large-scale destruction of the ecosystem, which is distinct from the economic damage that harms the local people. The posterior responses to the large-scale oil spill have always been unsatisfactory because of the symbolic nature of the disasters included in such accidents. Oil-spills can be prevented in advance, because they are caused by human beings. But once they occur, they inflict long-term damage to both human life and the natural ecosystem. Therefore, the best response to future oil-spills is to work to prevent them.

University students' eating behavior and consumer attitude in social commerce service (소셜커머스 이용 대학생의 외식 행동 및 태도 분석)

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to investigate eating behavior of university students through social commerce and to analyze factors affecting university students' attitude regarding social commerce. Methods: Questionnaires were distributed to 445 university students in Changwon, Korea from March 28 to April 28, 2013. A total of 339 questionnaires were used for the final analysis, which excluded improperly-completed questionnaires. Results: The major factor considered for eating behavior through social commerce was price (37.2%). Purchasing experiences of foodservice products according to types of foodservice were 64.9% for coffee shop, 59.3% for fast food restaurant, 53.4% for family restaurant, 46.0% for specialty restaurant, 35.7% for pizza restaurant, 35.4% for buffet, and 31.9% for bakery. Factors affecting satisfaction with social commerce for purchasing foodservice products were 'service quality of foodservice company', 'communication of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce'. Factors affecting repurchasing intention of foodservice products through social commerce were 'service quality of foodservice company', 'site design of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce'. Conclusion: In order to increase satisfaction with social commerce, 'service quality of foodservice company', 'communication of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce' should be increased. And, to increase repurchasing intention of social commerce, 'service quality of foodservice company', 'site design of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce' should be increased. In addition, two factors 'service quality of foodservice' and 'discount rate of social commerce' were found to have an effect on satisfaction and repurchasing intention of social commerce. For development of social commerce and foodservice industry, cooperative relationship between social commerce and foodservice industry is needed, and a reasonable price strategy should be established. The university students considered price as a major factor of eating behaviors and did not consider menu and taste as a major factor. From a longer perspective, such an eating behavior would have an effect on university students' dietary life and it would cause nutrition and health problems for university students. Thus, it implied that further studies from the perspectives of nutrition and health regarding eating behavior through social commerce service should be conducted.

Oxide Films Formed on Hot-Dip Aluminized Steel by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation and Their Films Growth Stages (플라즈마 전해 산화법에 의해 용융알루미늄도금 강판 상 형성한 산화층과 그 성장 과정)

  • 지난 수 십 년 동안, 전 세계적으로 자원의 소비가 급격히 증가하게 되면서 최근 자원 고갈은 물론 환경오염이 커다란 이슈로 문제가 되고 있다. 이에 따라 재료 관련 분야에 있어서는 보다 효율적이고 친환경적인 방법으로 자원을 활용해야 된다는 필요성이 대두되었고 이와 같은 관점에서 목적하는 성분이 우수하고 환경 친화적인 표면처리 재료 개발연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있는 실정이다. 그 중 플라즈마 전해 산화(Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation, PEO)는 알루미늄, 마그네슘 등의 경금속의 경도를 향상시키고 높은 내마모성, 내식성을 갖게 하는 표면처리로써 그 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이 플라즈마 전해 산화는 일반적으로 공정비용 대비 효과적이고 환경 친화적이며 코팅 성능 면에서 우수하다고 알려져 있다. 이러한 고유한 특성으로 인해 플라즈마 전해 산화 코팅은 최근 몇 년 동안 기계, 자동차, 우주항공, 의학 및 전기 산업 등의 분야에서 그 적용이 점차 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 한편, 플라즈마 전해 산화 코팅을 하는 모재들의 경우 부동태 산화피막을 용이하게 형성할 수 있는 특성의 모재에 한정되고 있어서 그 응용확대에 한계가 있는 것이 사실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 플라즈마 전해 산화법을 사용하여 용융알루미늄도금 강판 상에 산화피막 형성을 시도하였다. 전원공급 장치의 양극은 전해질 속에 잠겨있는 작동전극에 연결하고 음극은 대전극 역할을 하는 스테인레스강 전해질 용기에 연결되었다. 전해질은 Sodium Aluminate 및 기타 첨가제를 함유한 것을 사용하였고 온도는 열교환기를 사용하여 $30^{\circ}C$ 이하로 유지되었다. 또한 여기서 전류밀도는 $5{\sim}10A/dm^2$, 실험 주파수는 700Hz, Duty cycle은 30 및 90%의 각 조건에서 공정처리 시간을 각각 30분 및 60분 동안 진행하였다. 이와 같은 조건에서 형성한 막들에 대해서는 주사형전자현미경(SEM)을 이용하여 코팅 막의 표면 및 단면의 모폴로지를 관찰하였음은 물론 EDS 및 XRD 측정을 통하여 원소조성분포 및 결정구조를 각각 분석하였다. 또한 이 코팅 막들에 대한 내식성은 5% 염수분무 환경 중 노출시험(Salt spray test), 3% NaCl 용액에서의 침지 시험 및 전기화학적 동전위 양극분극(Potentiodynamic Polarization) 시험을 진행하여 평가하였다. 이상의 실험결과에 의하면, 제작조건별 플라즈마 전해 산화 코팅 막의 모폴로지 및 결정구조가 상이하게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 코팅 막의 모폴로지 관찰 결과, 공정 시간에 비례하여 표면에 존재하는 원형 기공의 수는 감소하였으나 그 크기가 커지고 크레이터의 직경 또한 커진 것이 확인되었다. 이 기공은 마이크로 방전에 의해 형성된다고 알려져 있는데 공정 시간이 증가함에 따라 코팅 두께가 점차 증가하여 마이크로 방전의 빈도수가 줄어들고 그 강도는 증가하게 되어 기공 크기가 증가한 것으로 사료된다. 또한 공정시간이 긴 시편에서 표면에 크랙이 다수 존재하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이것은 방전에 의해 고온이 된 소재가 차가운 전해질과 만나게 되어 생긴 큰 온도구배로 인해 강한 열응력이 발생하여 균열을 초래한 것으로 보인다. 조성원소 분석 결과 원형 기공 주변의 크레이터 영역에는 알루미늄이 풍부하였으며 그 주변에 결절상을 갖는 구조에서는 전해질 성분의 원소가 포함되어 있는 것이 확인되었다. 이러한 코팅 막의 표면 특성은 내식성에 영향을 주게 된 원인으로 사료된다. 동전위 분극측정 결과에 의하면 플라즈마 전해 산화 공정 시간이 길어질수록 부식전류밀도가 증가하였다. 이것은 공정시간이 길어짐에 따라 강한 방전이 발생하여 기공의 크기가 증가하고 크랙이 발생하게 되면서 내식성이 저하된 것으로 판단된다. 종합적으로 재료특성 분석 및 내식성 평가를 분석한 결과, 플라즈마 전해 산화의 공정 시간이 너무 길게 되면 오히려 내식성은 저하되는 것이 확인되었다. 이상의 연구를 통하여 고내식 특성을 갖는 플라즈마 전해 산화 막의 유효성을 확인하였으며 용융알루미늄강판 상에 실시한 플라즈마 전해 산화 처리에 대한 기초적인 응용 지침을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
