플로팅 건축물은 현장 시공에 제약 조건이 발생할 가능성이 높아 현장 시공을 최소화할 필요가 있다. 이 연구에서는 현장 시공을 최소화할 수 있는 모듈러 설계를 플로팅 건축물 상부공간에 적용하기 위하여, 먼저 프로젝트 초기 단계에서의 고려 사항을 검토하였고, 소규모 레저용 플로팅 주거공간을 대상으로 모듈러 설계를 적용하는 방안을 시도하였다.

According to the increase in number of persons who have physical impediments in this country, the importance on the convenient facility for physically disabled persons is gradually being extended as well. This thesis is focused on the small scale interior design plan for the disabled persons in diminutive symptoms among several kinds of congenital or postnatal impediments. Just like the other disabled persons, the public convenient facility or special space is not required, but I have reviewed the matters to have to be improved and the present residing shape of the disabled persons under the diminutive symptoms in order to provide the interior design available for the joint uses together by and between non-handicapped and handicapped persons as such undersized persons have recently been differentiated together with handicapped persons within the small scale house space.

Louis Sullivan insisted, "Form follows function." Functionality is one of the most fundamental elements for users to use product or space, and "function" in space and architecture has the meaning of the most important factor in determining its form. In this way, from the viewpoint of "Functionalism," the research selected Toyo Ito to see how important elements pursued by Functionalism are related to his forms of creation. Small residential space projects of Toyo Ito from the early 1970s to the present are selected, so that the structure, material and space type of space and architecture can easily grasped and analyzed. Space and architectural structures and surfaces were classified into the characteristics of materials and classified according to the strength of openness of space. As a result, the space and architecture that pursue the function use a method that can maximize the efficiency of the function while excluding the whole decoration in order to highlight the function. The characteristics found in Toyo Ito's small-scale residential space can be defined as the formalization and simplification of the form, the openness of space, and the versatility of each element.

도시화는 현대사회의 가장 큰 특징이며 도시가 성장하면서 과거의 기능이 변화하고 도시내부의 공간구조가 점차 기능적으로 분화하는 경향이 있다. 그 중 가장 주목할 만한 것 중의 하나는 주거지역의 입지변화와 공간적 확산과정에서 나타나는 주거지 분화현상이다. 도시생태학자 Hoyt은 주거지 이동패턴에 대하여 도시 내의 주거지분포 패턴을 결정짓는 핵심적인 요인으로 최고지대를 지불할 수 있는 부유층의 주거입지 선택에 따라 전체 도시의 계층별 주거분포가 영향을 받게 된다고 주장하였다. 서울은 소규모로 계획된 역사도시에서 인구 1000만의 대도시로 성장하여 오면서 많은 구조적 변화를 경험하여 현재의 공간구조를 이루게 되었다. 현재 전체 서울의 주택지는 동일한 것이 아니고 각종 주위환경에 따른 성격과 특성을 달리하는 요소로 구성되어 있다. 이 특성을 달리하는 주택지들이 모여서 각기 상이한 역할을 수행하고 서로 기능적 관계를 맺으면서 주택지를 형성하고 있다. 선형이론(Hoyt's Sector theory)에 따르면 고급주택지역의 도시 공간구조에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다고 주장하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 서울의 고급주택지역의 분포와 그 입지 특성에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 서울시 고급주택지역의 분포를 형성하는 원인을 규명하는데 있다. 고급주택지의 지역적 분포를 파악하여 그 입지 성향과 특성을 알게 되면 도시의 토지이용계획, 특히 주거지계획에 도움이 될 수 있다.

Nowadays living space has been small-sized due to a rise in the standard of living, change of recognition on the increase of housing for the singles, and frequent movements of duty place, etc. and the furnitures naturally evolved assembly and multi-functionality. However, it retuned with an economic charge in the consumers and lost the uniformity in a small-sized living space as well since the furniture depended on the each miscellaneous household goods or products and came to be used. Hereupon it was demanded the system where the various furnitures are to fit to here. This study aimed at this point firstly examined a new environment change which it follows till a small living space is demanded through lots of literature, after understanding the concept of the system furniture, I classified expressive types of system furniture in modern environment and analyzed the design quality and characteristics in it by selecting well-known furniture magazines inside and outside of the country and extracting and analyzing system furniture images which are recorded in advertisements or articles. The objective of this study is to present MMC(Multi Modular Coordination, a system furniture design based on this analysis that inquiring the problems with function, structure, assembly which other existing system furnitures are facing enabled to apply a basic data in unit-module planning and by sampling embodiment modeling by uses.

The aged small-sized apartment housing threats the safety and comfort of the residents. It is excluded from the scope of mandatory management under the Article 34 of the "Apartment Housing Management Act". According to various domestic statistics, the number of small-sized apartment housing is 261,203, which is about 66% of the total 396,076 residences in Korea, so it is urgent to formulate a systematic management plan including remodeling. However, support programs for old-aged small-sized apartment housing of the central government and local governments are not enough to solve the problems. This study aims to propose useful policy ideas to promote remodeling for small-sized apartment housing based on the analysis on the housing status in our country. The first suggestion is the diversification of government programs. Second is the development of remodeling industry technology, and third is a complement of the law about the remodeling of small-sized apartment housing.

In the domestic housing market, uncompleted lot-solid apartments and unoccupied residences are increasing in the medium-large scale area whose rents and transactions have been unstable, as going through the financial crisis and economical recession. Demands for small-scale housings are steadily increasing by practical consumer group who don't need large places, which are often not needed for the current people who are spending most of their time outside of their houses. Therefore, this study proposes the useful methods for spatial planning for small-scale houses for multiple households, including variable form, levels form, multi-level form, and smart-sizing. For efficient spatial planning for that purpose, here, small-scale housings are not limited to places for families with 1-2 members, but considered as one of broader approaches to graft various households and families. In addition, we examined the existed trends of researches about spatial utility of small-scale places, and did the research about the status of small-scale housing developments, and then proposed the direction for future small-scale housings by analyzing the advanced examples.

This study analyzes the method for easily constructing a simple space in various environments. It also analyzes cases of modular prefab construction structures and explores various solutions and development directions that can form temporary residential spaces. This research intends to propose the diverse methods and solutions for constructing residential space for users' stable living environment in various unpredictable situations. This study amis to collect and analyze cases of various foreign patents related to the subject. With the analysis on the patents case, the prefab structures are mainly grouped into 4 types of 1) Assembly method using small parts, 2) Prefab module stacking method, 3) Space expansion method, and 4) Production methods of detailed elements. Based on the results, future research will inquire the lower cost and more efficient way of constructing prefab structure.

This case study is an effort to provide new knowledge on the U.S. elderly public housing focusing on the residents' perceptions of the environmental conditions. For this study, we conducted a survey using written questionnaires and interviews with 20 residents who rent in Columbia, MO. The recorded interview data was used for final analysis; primary findings are as follows: The residents reported relatively high satisfaction on their overall environmental conditions in the two target public housing, built in 1950s. As the most significant problem, residents perceive the lack of storage space for individual units, Partially attributed to space limitations. In addition, bathroom needs varied dramatically among residents based on their health and whether wheelchairs are used. Therefore, it was found that instead of standardized bathrooms, a customizable configuration for the resident's unique physical condition and accessibility must be considered. The residents also addressed their concerns about security for entrance and foyer areas. Due to the small living areas, they wanted to have available outdoor public space for various social activities. Furthermore, they reported the need for small social gathering areas while friends and family members are visiting them, in addition to their small living units, which average 49.8 sq. ft. each.

This study aimed to provide data for planning of a small-sized complex-cultural facility for not only artists but also the common. The main interest of the study was to make them understand spirit related to the culture to each other. The data was collected from 100 artists in various art fields and 100 the common by a questionnaire and a visiting survey. The result of this study indicated that people had a little of chance to share their cultural opinions with others because there were not enough appropriate places even though they wanted it. Besides, they would like to use the place for their communication which consists of a range of their needs such as watching a play, listening to music, spending tea-time, etc.
