  • The problem of Korean registered population is that population classified by age increases as one grows older until 6 age or 7 age. This paper is to suggest an algorithm of the re-projection under 7 age on Korean registered population and to analysis of comparison with the reported population statistical data. As the result, the reprojections population is trusted in the number of 0 age on the comparison of other reported population statistical data.

Presbyopic Addition of Using Method of Cross Cylinder (크로스실린더 검사법을 이용한 노안의 근용 가입도)

  • This research was conducted from 1 March 2005 to 28 February 2007. We collected data from optician stores around Kwang-Ju city, 208 people aged 40 to 80 years using the cross cylinder method to find out age and gender dependence of near addition. 1. Age dependence of Refractive error shows 5% of emmetropia 34% of myopia and 43% of hyperopia. These results reveal that rate of hyperopia is higher than emmetropia and myopia. Mixed Astigmatism rate was 18%. 2. Near addition required to correct Presbyopia is analyzed as functions of gender and ages. In case of man: 40-44 (+0.75D), 45-49(+1.25D), 50-54(+1.41D), 55-59(+1.92D), 60-64(+2.35D), 65-69(+1.97D), 70(+3.12D), In case of woman: 40-44 (+1.08D), 45-49 (+1.38D), 50-54 (+1.67D), 55-59(+2.05D), 60-64 (+2.50D), 65-69 (+2.57D), $70{\leq}(+3.18D)$. Result shows it's Adding power higher than man. 3. Age dependence of Axis of Astigmatism. In case of horizontal astigmatism 61.2%, vertical 2.8% and rest else for 36%. Setting point from Binocular vision tells that average adding power of 40-44 (+0.75D) or (+1.00D), 45-49 (+1.25D) or (+1.50D), 50-54 (+1.50D), 55-59 (+2.00D), 60-64 (+2.50D), 65-69 (+2.50D) or (+2.75D), over $70{\leq}(+3.00D)$ or (+3.25D) of average adding power.

A Study on Patterns or Reality of Oral Health: Government Employees and Private School Employees (구강건강행태 및 실태에 대한 조사연구 (공무원 및 사립학교 교직원 중심으로))

  • Our study shows the following results of the patterns and reality of oral health of 862 Government employees and private school employees who had received oral examinations from April to May, 2000. For the exposition of each group to dental service, the male groups(37.4%) were more exposed than the female ones(30.0%, p<0.05), while the scaling experience results indicated that more ages mean more scaling(the over 50 year group 27.1%, 41-50 group 23.9%, 31-40 group 20.5%, 21-30 group 10.8%, p<0.001). The data involving sweet food and refreshments revealed that 'positive respondents' in the male groups were 19.7% with 12.5% positive in the female ones, and 'negative respondents' were 32.3% and 51.0% in the male and female groups respectively(p<0.001). For the oral odor, the male groups(37.9%) are more severe than the female ones(25.5%, p<0.01). The results of dental caries revealed that 19.1% of the male and 13.9% of the female said 'yes'(p<0.05), with 25.1% of the male and 11.1% of the female suffering from missing teeth(p<0.001); 77.4% of the male and 51.0% of the female from periodontal disease (p<0.001).

  • 기후변화협약에 대비하고 녹색성장 재원을 마련하기 위해 탄소세 도입이 적극 검토되고 있다. 여러 선진국에서는 탄소세가 도입이 되고 있으며, 일본은 2011년도 2013년도에 탄소세 도입 및 실시가 예정되어있다. 이에 선진국들의 탄소세 도입 및 도입예정 사례를 분석하고, 우리나라의 에너지세제의 현황을 검토하여 탄소세 도입 형태 및 적정 수준에 대하여 검토하여 국내에 탄소세가 도입되었을 때 항만에 미칠 수 있는 영향을 예측하고, 탄소세 도입에 따른 국내 항만경쟁력 강화 방안에 대하여 알아본다.

Oral Health Status of Needy Old Residents in Urban Area (도시 저소득층 고령 주민의 구강건강실태)

  • The oral health status and practices related to oral health among 44-54-year-, 55-64-year- and 65-year-old needy residents were assessed. The subjects were the residents at the Unbong Permanent Rental Apartment, Bansong-dong, Haeundae-gu. Pusan, Korea. An oral epidemiological survey was undertaken to determine the status of dental caries and periodontal health. Periodontal health were analyzed by the tool of CPITN (Community Periodontal Index of Treatment Needs). A questionnaire was used to interview for the practices of toothbrushing. The numbers of subjects were 192 for the interview on toothbrushing, 228 for the survey of dental status and 208 for the survey of periodontal status. The major results were as follows: 1. Toothbrushing frequencies per day were 1.9 among 44-54-year-, 1.7 among 55-64-year- and 1.7 among 65+-year-subjects. Percentages of after-meal-toothbrushings among total brushing frequencies per day were 73.7% among 44-54-year-, 70.6% among 55-64-year- and 76.5% among 65+-year-subjects. 2. DMFT indices were 15.5 among 44-54-year-, 16.4 among 55-64-year- and 26.6 among 65-year-subjects. Decayed teeth component of DMF teeth were 23.9% among 44-54-year-, 11.6% among 55-64-year- and 62.8% among 65+-year-subjects. Missed teeth component of DMF teeth were 55.59% among 44-54-year-, 62.8% among 55-64-year- and 77.4% among 65+-year-subjects. Filled teeth component of DMF teeth were 20.0% among 44-54-year-, 25.0% among 55-64-year- and 10.9% among 65+-year-subjects. 3. Sound permanent teeth were 16.4 among 44-54-year-, 15.6 among 55-64-year- and 5.4 among 65+-year-subjects. Present permanent teeth were 23.7 among 44-54-year-, 21.6 among 55-64-year- and 10.9 among 65-year-subjects. 4. Subjects who needed professional oral prophylaxis were 75.0% among 44-54-year-, 83.3% among 55-64-year-and 76.9% among 65-year-subjects. Subjects who needed complex periodontal treatments were 16.7% among 44-54-year-, 13.3% among 55-64-year- and 15.4% among 65+-year-subjects. 5. Sextants which needed professional oral prophylaxis were 59.3% among 44-54-year-, 71.5% among 55-64-year- and 71.5% among 65+-year-subjects. Sextants which needed complex periodontal treatments were 5.6% among 44-54-year-, 4.1% among 55-64-year- and 5.7% among 65+-year-subjects. 6. Systematic comprehensive oral health care services should be developed for old needy residents in urban area.

The impacts of CO2 tax on the regional economies in Korea (탄소세 도입이 지역경제에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증 분석)

  • We use a multi-regional dynamic computable general equilibrium model to explain an economic effect of $CO_2$ tax on the national and regional economy of Korea. First, we compare two $CO_2$ taxes: a region-specific $CO_2$ tax and a uniform $CO_2$ tax. In the region-specific tax, the $CO_2$ tax rate in the capital area and the south-eastern region is much greater than those in other regions. GDP loss resulting from the region-specific tax is bigger than that in the uniform tax. Second, we consider three options for tax recycling: consumption tax recycling, labor-income tax recycling, and corporate-income tax recycling. The corporate-income tax recycling has the least GDP-loss effect over the three options. These results support that it is more efficient to use a uniform $CO_2$ tax rate than a region-specific $CO_2$ tax rate and that the corporate-income tax recycling is more desirable in a sense of efficiency than the consumption and labor-income tax recycling options.

A Study on the Progression and Prevalence of Myopia according to Age for the Last Five Years : from 2008 to 2012 (최근 5년간 연령에 따른 근시 유병률 진행에 관한 연구 : 2008년에서 2012년 중심으로)

  • Purpose: In this study, we analyzed the progression and prevalence of myopia according to age for the last five years. Methods: We have done a comparative analysis of the progression and prevalence of myopia with the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey document from 2008 to 2012. Results: According to classification of myopia by age group for the last five years, the prevalence of low myopia was 25.5% for 5-11ages group, 25.1% for 12-18ages, 27.3% for 19-29ages, 30.7% for 30-39ages, 29.6% for 40-49ages, 19.2% for 50-59ages, 11.8% for 60-69ages, and 20.2% for over 70ages respectively. The prevalence of moderate myopia was 21.7% for 5-11ages group, 43.6% for 12-18ages, 36.2% for 19-29ages, 30.0% for 30-39ages, 20.4% for 40-49ages, 9.9% for 50-59ages, 5.2% for 60-69ages, and 7.6% for over 70ages respectively. The prevalence of high myopia was 2.1% for 5-11ages group, 11.7% for 12-18ages, 11.5% for 19-29ages, 6.9% for 30-39ages, 5.6% for 40-49ages, 1.9% for 50-59ages, 1.5% for 60-69ages, and 1.0% for over 70ages respectively. Conclusions: We must recognize an importance to the increase of the progression and prevalence of myopia, so it is necessary to provide a social interest in prevention of deteriorating vision and eye health welfare.

탄소세 도입에 따른 항만의 영향

  • 기후변화협약에 대비하고 녹색성장의 재원을 마련하기 위해 탄소세 도입이 적극 검토되고 있다. 북유럽 국가들을 중심으로 하여 여러 선진국에서는 탄소세가 이미 도입 시행되고 있으며, 가까운 일본의 경우도 탄소세 도입을 지속적으로 추진하고 있는 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선진국들의 탄소세 도입 및 추진상황들을 분석하고, 국내의 탄소세 도입수준을 고려하여 탄소세가 도입이 되었을 때, 항만에 미치는 영향에 대해서 분석하였다.

  • This paper compares the economic effects of climate policy options in Korea. The impacts and implications of carbon and Btu tax schemes are analyzed using the META Net modeling system, which was developed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Findings indicate that carbon tax is more cost effective compared to Btu tax, but this does not necessarily mean the former is more desirable than the latter. Energy market stability and national energy security is equally important in choosing policy options. Moreover Btu tax is more effective in reducing energy consumption in general. It reduces not only carbon intensive energy sources, but non-fossil fuel like electricity. Korean economy consumes too much energy and energy efficiency is very low compared to other OECD countries. So the reduction of energy demand growth should be the first priority of the national energy policy in Korea.

암반대수층에서 양수조건에 따른 세레늄 농도변화의 현장사례 연구

  • 인위적인 오염원이 존재하지 않는 농촌지역 지하수공에서 검출빈도가 매우 낮은 세레늄 성분에 대하여 양수조건에 따른 세레늄의 농도변화를 연구하였다. 양수에 따른 세레늄 농도변화의 연구는 현장지하수 수질이 지하수 먹는물 수질기준보다. 높은 2개의 지하수공에서 수행되었다. 본 연구를 통해, 세레늄 성분이 먹는물 수질기준을 초과한 지하수공의 지속적인 이용여부를 판단하였다. 또한, 양수시험공 주변의 세레늄 농도를 측정하여 배경농도를 파악하였으며, 시험공 내에서 구간별 채수를 수행하여 세레늄 성분이 산출되는 주대수층 구간을 파악하였다. 양수조건에 따른 세레늄의 농도변화를 연구하기 위한 방법은 하루 8시간을 기준으로 양수하는 단기적인 방법과, $4,950m^3$을 594시간 동안 장기양수하면서 농도변화를 측정하였다. 본 연구를 통해, 지하수 내 세레늄 성분의 농도변화는 장기양수에 의해 변화함을 알 수 있었다.
