We propose a tree modeling method of expressing realistically and efficiently numerous trees distributed on a broad terrain. This method combines and simplifies the recursive hierarchy of tree branch and branch generation process through self-organizing from buds, allowing users to generate trees that can be used more intuitively and efficiently. With the generation process the leveled structure and the appearance such as branch length, distribution and direction can be controlled interactively by user. In addition, we introduce an environment-adaptive model that allows to grow a number of trees variously by controlling at the same time and we propose an efficient application method of growing environment. For the real-time rendering of the complex tree models distributed on a broad terrain, the rendering process, the LOD(level of detail) for the branch surfaces, and shader instancing are introduced through the GPU(Graphics Processing Unit). Whether the numerous trees are expressed realistically and efficiently on wide terrain by proposed models are confirmed through simulation.

Math and Science Olympians participated in a study of the role of environmental influences in their talent development. The questions they got was about family and school factors contribute / or hinder to the development of their scientific talents, and the parents' child rearing styles. The questionnaires were originally developed by Campbell(1996) for cross-cultural studies. The major findings were as follows: ⑴ The professional job of the Olympians'father, the high SES, Their parents'discovering their child's talents were positive factors, ⑵ Their family support and learning environment were reported strong and positive, especially books and reading atmosphere, ⑶ The Olympians participated in the accelerated and enriched educational programs, ⑷ The quality of the class and the rigidity of the curriculum were hindering factors, ⑸ Their parents'rearing style were permissive, affective, and supportive.

Recently, the global paradigm on the economic structure has been changed from the price-oriented borderless competition toward the sustainable quality movement due to the ever-increasing global warming and environmental issues. Since Korea hosted the global 20 summit in 2010, it has promoted the green growth policies and asked for the other countries to participate in. Unfortunately, it is not easy to figure out the green growth or green productivity because the economic performance has a side effect of environmental pollution such as CO2 emission. This paper aims to analyzes the methodological comparison for all the related issues with green productivity and suggests the new paradigm of global Malmquist-Lundberger index (GML) as the most flexible field and performance-oriented criteria to measure the green productivity.

This study was to investigate the habitat conditions and growth of right eye flounder (Kareius bicoloratus) in the Saemangeum Reseorvoir during 1995$\sim$2007. The planktonic larvae of K. bicoloratus appeared in early March, and then the juveniles started the benthic life in the tide-pools inside the reservoir, being 1.5$\sim$2.5cm in total length in early April and 6.0$\sim$7.2cm in mid-July. This species was not collected in the tide-pools after July, indicating that the juveniles began to move to outer seas for growing. When the tide barrier of Saemangeum was constructed, the juveniles of K. bicoloratus decreased as the tidal pools were covered continuously, then they could not be collected after 2005. Thus, it is concluded that the environmental change has taken important influence on distribution and spawning of K. bicoloratus since the reservoir was constructed.
