Along with rapid changes and increasing competitions of the global market, a country with advanced technology can gain competitiveness edges. The Korean government recently announced 'Strategic Plan for the Next Generation Driving Forces Industry' in order to respond this global challenges. However, it appears that the construction industry has been put out from the discussions. It can be argued that considering the size and contributions of the industry to the national economy, driving engines for the industry should be considered and identified. The objective of this paper is to propose the criteria of driving engines for the construction industry based on the analysis of the common characteristics of 6T industries' driving forces as recently announced.

디지털 콘텐츠 산업이 지식 기반 경제하에서 새로운 성장 엔진으로 각광받고 있다. 시장 조사기관에 따라 다소 차이가 있겠지만 지난 2001년 전세계 디지털콘텐츠 시장의 규모는 대략 8840억달러로 추산된다. 디지털콘텐츠 시장은 매년 20%이상의 성장률을 기록해 오는 2005년이면 1조 1700억달러 규모에 달할 것으로 예상된다. 이같은 추세에 발맞춰 국내 시장도 매년 40%이상 고속 성장할 전망이다. 이처럼 디지털 콘텐츠 시장이 성숙할 것으로 예상되면서 미국 일본 등 선진국들이 디지털 콘텐츠 산업의 육성에 박차를 가하고 있다.

최근들어 우리나라의 급속한 고도성장과 더불어 수송물동량과 교통인구의 증가로 인해 자동차로 부터 배출되는 배기가스의 공해가 커다란 사회적인 문제로 부각됨에 따라 날로 심각해져 가는 대 기오염을 방지하기 위하여 한국의 차량비율중 50%이상을 차지하고 있는 디젤엔진으로부터의 배 기사스 저감이 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정에 있다. 한편 우리나라 자동차산업 및 엔진산업은 최근 몇 년동안 양적인 면에서 괄목할만한 성장을 해왔으나, 아직까지 선진제조기술의 모방단 계를 벗어나지 못했기 때문에 질적인 면에서는 선진국과 경쟁할만한 자체기술 개발능력이 부족한 상태이다. 따라서 지난 10여년동안 세계 유명엔진 제조업체와 기술제휴를 통한 기술축적, 끊임 없는 연구개발, 생산기술 향상 등을 통하여 국내 디젤엔진 업계를 선도하고 있는 대우중고업은 지난 30년동안 350여개 이상의 엔진을 설계, 개발한 경험을 갖고 있는 세계적인 내연기관 연구 소인 Austria의 AVL사와 공동으로 기존시장에서 호평을 받고 있는 M.A.N.엔진을 기본 Model로 하여 저공해고효율 및 고BMEP특성을 갖춘 D1146 Series, D2366 Series를 개발함으로써 국내 자동차 공업의 기술수준 향상과 국제경쟁력 확보를 통하여 수출산업으로 육성하고자 하였다.

Recently environmental issue is more and more emphasized and 'Green Growth' became on of the key words of this Government. Based on this trend, the exhaust gases out of the gas generator cycle and the staged combustion cycle LRE whose propellants are kerosene and LOx were compared. For this purse, 8 tonf class of each cycle engine was designed and the amount and the components of the gases were investigated by using CEA. As expected, the staged combustion cycle engine generates less pollutants than the other cycle. In addition, the graphite that is generated by the gas generator can be reacted with the oxygen in the atmosphere creating additional pollutants.
