Eigen Palmprint Identification Algorithm using PCA(Principal Components Analysis) (주성분 분석법을 이용한 고유장문 인식 알고리즘)

  • Palmprint-based personal identification system, as a new member in the biometrics system family, has become an active research topic in recent years. Although lots of methods have been made, how to represent palmprint for effective classification is still an open problem and conducting researches. In this paper, the palmprint classification and recognition method based on PCA (Principal Components Analysis) using the dimension reduction of singular vector is proposed. And the 135dpi palmprint image which is obtained by the palmprint acquisition device is used for the effectual palmprint recognition system. The proposed system is consists of the palmprint acquisition device, DB generation algorithm and the palmprint recognition algorithm. The palmprint recognition step is limited 2 times. As a results GAR and FAR are 98.5% and 0.036%.

  • The programming(algorithm) automated assessment system is to evaluate automatically the accuracy and time/space efficiency of user's solution to the problem which is provided. This system gives the immediate feedback of the solution, real-time ranking. So, in the course of data structure and algorithm, we can apply the knowledge which we have learned to the problem solving. Especially, in the basic course of learning the syntax of the programming language, the novice student can learn in easy and fun by solving the simple problem. The university students can understand in the easy way the meaning of asymptotic analysis of algorithm in data structure & algorithm course.

  • 국내 농업에서 토양의 반전, 쇄토, 배토, 가능한 복합작업기인 무동력 디스크해로우 방식의 경운과 배토 고효율 복합작업기의 수요가 증가 하고 있다. 경운작업에서 일련의 과정은 작물의 생육과 관리차원에서 큰 의미를 지니며 작물재배의 첫 단계로 중요시 다루어져야할 과정이다. 이러한 작업기의 성능 시험에서 포장시험을 통해 복합기의 신뢰도와 실제 필드에서 발생하는 문제들을 포괄적으로 해결 할 수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 토양 경작을 위한 농업기기의 작업 저항은 식물 생산에서 유용성을 평가하는 가장 중요한 지표중 하나이다. 작업 저항(수평, 수직 방향의 힘)은 트랙터의 힘에 의해 생성된 동작을 방해하므로 토양 경운 시 에너지 소비를 결정하고 설계 매개 변수 측면에서 최적의 작업 조건을 결정하는 데 중요한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 경상대학교 내 위치한 실험동에서 Soil-bin에 이송장치를 설치한 후, 이송장치에 디스크 해로우 (Multidisc Vario, Tulip Agri., Netherlands)를 부착하여 실험을 진행하였다. 디스크 해로우의 원주 평면과 수직 평면 사이의 각 a(토양 표면에 수직)와 디스크의 해로우의 원주 평면과 작업 방향 사이의 각 b의 값을 독립 변수로 두고 a, b를 변화 시키면서 발생하는 이송장치의 견인력을 측정하여 농가 및 효율적인 경운작업 시 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

  • Dynamic stiffness of subsurface materials is one of the most important geotechnical parameters in predicting deformational behavior of structures as well as practicing seismic design and performance evaluation. In an effort to measure the parameter efficiently and accurately, various borehole seismic testing techniques have been, thus, developed and used during past several decades. Moreover, recent rush of underground-space projects and increasing size of structures put more stress on reliable site investigation techniques in estimating stiffness of rock mass. In this paper, a new technique called 'in-hole seismic test' has been implemented to measure the dynamic stiffness of rock masses at subsurface foundations and tunnel-faces. The reliance of in-hole seismic test was evaluated by comparing the testing results at several rock sites with those of other borehole techniques and the technique tunnls out to be an efficient and accurate in-situ testing technique.

Tension Stiffening Effect and Crack Behavior of Tension Members Using High Strength Concrete (고강도 콘크리트 인장부재의 인장강화효과와 균열거동)

  • The verification of serviceability of concrete structures requires more informations on the composite behaviors between concrete and reinforcement. Among them, the investigation of crack widths and spacings is based on the tension stiffening effects. In this paper, the tension stiffening effects of high strength concrete members with compressive strength of 80 and 100MPa are investigated experimentally. It was found that the current design code which is based on the tests of normal strength concrete may not describe the tension stiffening effects in high strength concrete correctly. The coefficient that can appropriately reflect the tension stiffening effects in the high strength concrete was proposed. Also, the crack spacing was investigated through the cracking behaviors and the crack width according to the difference of the strains in steel and concrete was estimated. The results of this paper may be used to examine the tension stiffening effects of high strength concrete members.

  • The logical development of an optimum structural shielding design and the computation of protective barriers for high energy radiation therapy room, Toshiba 13 MeV. are presented. We obtained following results by comparison in between the precalculating values and actual survey after complete installation of radiogenerating units. 1. The calculating formula for the protective barrier written in NCRP report #34(1970) was the most ideal and economic calculating methods for the construction of barrier and to determine thickness for the meeting requirements of the number of patients of 80-100 in daily treatment. 2. The precalculating values of protective barrier are 5 times more protective than that of actual measurement. It is depending on radiation workload and utilization the datas most sequrely. 3. The dose rate during exposure are 2-10 mR/hr at out of the door and the controll room. 4. The foul smelling and ozone gas production from long exposure of cancer patients cannot be eliminated when the room is ill ventilated.

Structural Properties of High-Strength and Low-Yield-Steel Beam-Column for High-Rise Architecture Structure (건축구조용 저항복 고장력강 Beam-Column의 구조특성)

  • Recently, the development of high-strength thicker steel plate above 600MPa is becoming active due to the increase in both height and member size of architectural structure. However, such steel, which is being investigated in Korea nowadays, has possibility of limited practical application because of high design code strength and high-yield ratio. Therefore, this study performed the validation for the structural performance of beam-column with combined axial force and bending moment whether this beam-column might be attributable as an architectural purpose steel. This study was conducted from the result of monotonic loading test of beam-column, based on the material properties of low-yield, 600MPa class steel which was developed during 1988-1993 in Japan. This study might provide the fundamental database for practical research for these steel which are actively being tested in Korea.

Lake Water Treatment Using a Ultrafiltration Membrane Process of Hollow Fiber Type (중공사형 한외여과 막분리 공정에 의한 하천수 처리)

  • The self-designed membrane system was tested to examine the performance of the hollow fiber type polysulfone ultrafiltration(UF) membrane for the treatment of pure water(the 3rd treated water). The molecular weight cut-off's (MWCO) of the membranes used in this study were 5, 000 and 10, 000, respectively. The recovery rate, the ratio of permeate flow rate to the feed flow rate, increased as the temperature rose. The values of MWCO obtained in this study, using 2, 000 ppm polyethylene glycol and dextran solutions with various molecular weight, showed higher values than those suggested by SKI. Based on the results of the primary experiments, the water of the Gongji-stream, in which water quality is deteriorated by the inflow of domestic wastewater, was selected for the UF membrane test. Biological oxygen demand(BOD), total solids, and turbidity of the treated water had much lower values than those of the source water. Therefore, this study confirmed the possibility of the domestic water treatment using the hollow fiber type UF membrane.

Design and Evaluation of a Rough Set Based Anomaly Detection Scheme Considering Weighted Feature Values (가중 특징 값을 고려한 러프 집합 기반 비정상 행위 탐지방법의 설계 및 평가)

  • The rapid proliferation of wireless networks and mobile computing applications has changed the landscape of network security. Anomaly detection is a pattern recognition task whose goal is to report the occurrence of abnormal or unknown behavior in a given system being monitored. This paper presents an efficient rough set based anomaly detection method that can effectively identify a group of especially harmful internal masqueraders in cellular mobile networks. Our scheme uses the trace data of wireless application layer by a user as feature value. Based on the feature values, the use pattern of a mobile's user can be captured by rough sets, and the abnormal behavior of the mobile can be also detected effectively by applying a roughness membership function considering weighted feature values. The performance of our scheme is evaluated by a simulation. Simulation results demonstrate that the anomalies are well detected by the method that assigns different weighted values to feature attributes depending on importance.

  • This paper presents the results of study for improving the reliability of quadrotor attitude control by applying a multi-sensor along with a data fusion algorithm. First, a mathematical model of the quadrotor dynamics was developed. Then, using the quadrotor mathematical model, simulations were performed using the improved reliability multi-sensor data as the inputs. From the simulation results, we designed a Gimbal-equipped quadrotor system. With the quadrotor in a hover state, we performed experiments according to the angle change of the user's specifications. We then calculated the attitude control data from the actual experimental data. Furthermore, with additional simulations, we verified the performance of the designed quadrotor attitude control system with multiple sensors.
