프레스 접합성형 GMT-Sheet의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of GMT-Sheet on Press joined Molding)

  • The application as the parts of an automobile, using the property of GMT-Sheet, is increasing. In order to exchange the parts of an automobile for GMT-Sheet, at first, the establishment and joining problem of exact joining strength must be determined. We have studied it using composites which is not same each other fiber oriented condition so as to determine joining strength and joining condition of GMT-Sheet. h this study, the result of experiment of forming condition concerned joining problem of GMT-Sheet is this ; joining efficiency of of GMT-Sheet, increases as lap joint length L increases. Increase of compression ratio causes decrease of joining efficiency after of GMT-Sheet joining. In the viewpoint of recycling, randomly oriented composite of GMT-Sheet is desirable more than unidirectional oriented composite. We has better design the structure so as not to occur to stress centralizatien on the joining part.

  • In this study, the survival rate of fiber is investigated by nozzle size difference in injection/mold sides. The survival rate of fiber is influenced about the nozzle size differ. Also, The mechanical properties of short carbon glass fiber reinforced polypropylene are experimentally measured as functions of fiber volume fraction and nozzle size difference. These mechanical properties are compared with the survival rate of fiber and fiber volume fraction using image analysis after pyrolytic decomposition. The survival rate of fiber as well as fiber volume fraction is influenced by injection processing condition, the used materials, mold conditions and nozzle sides difference, etc, In particular, the survival rate of fiber is great influenced when injection/mold nozzle sides are different more than that of the same. Consequently, the mechanical properties of short carbon/glass fiber reinforced polypropylene arc improved as the nozzle sides are the same in injection mold sides.

글리콜 몰비가 다른 UPE 수지의 경화거동과 물성에 관한 연구 (Curing Behaviors and Mechanical Properties of Unsaturated Polyester Hosing with Different Glycol Molar Ratios)

  • 본 연구에서는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지의 기계적 물성을 증진시키기 위하여 프로필렌글리콜(PG)과 네오펜틸글리콜(NPG)의 몰비를 달리한 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지를 제조하여 경화거동 및 기계적 물성을 조사하였다. 경화거동은 microgel reaction mechanism을 이용하여 설명하였고, NPG 몰비의 증가는 최종 전화율을 증가시키나 경화속도가 늦어짐을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 글리콜 몰비중에서 NPG 몰비의 증가는 굴곡강도, 인장탄성율, 흡수율, 함침성이 증가하였고, 반면에 인장강도, 신율, 굴곡탄성율이 감소하는 경향으로 나타났다. 따라서 중합한 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지에서 PG/NPG 몰비가 0.5/0.5, 0.25/0.75의 영역일 때 섬유강화 플라스틱 복합재료의 물성이 우수한 것으로 관찰되었다.

음향방출법을 이용한 적층복합재료의 파괴거동 연구 (A Study on the Fracture Behavior of Laminated Carbon/Epoxy Composite by Acoustic Emission)

  • In this study, DAQ and TRA modules were applied to the CFRP single specimen testing method using AE. A method for crack identification in CFRP specimens based on k-mean clustering and wavelet transform analysis are presented. Mode I on DCB under vertical loading and mode II on 3-points ENF testing under share loading have been carried out, thereafter k-mean method for clustering AE data and wavelet transition method per amplitude have been applied to investigate characteristics of interfacial fracture in CFRP composite. It was found that the fracture mechanism of Carbon/Epoxy Composite to estimate of different type of fractures such as matrix(epoxy resin) cracking, delamination and fiber breakage same as AE amplitude distribution using a AE frequency analysis. In conclusion, the presented results provide a foundation for using wavelet analysis as efficient crack detection tool. The advantage of using wavelet analysis is that local features in a displacement response signal can be identified with a desired resolution, provided that the response signal to be analyzed picks up the perturbations caused by the presence of the crack.

  • Modeling and FEM analysis on Boron Nitride and/or Pyrolytic Carbon coating layers on SiC fibers under indentation contact loadings are investigated. Especially this study attempts to model the mechanical behavior of the SiC fibers with and without coatings. Tyranno S grade and Tyranno LoxM grade of SiC are selected for fiber and Boron Nitride and/or Pyrolytic Carbon as coating material. The modeling is performed by SiC fiber without coating layer, which includs single(BN or PyC) and double(BN-PyC or PyC-BN) coating layer. And then the analysis is performed by changing a type of coating layer, a type of fiber and coating sequence. In this study, the concepts of modeling and analysis techniques for optimum design of BN and PyC coating process on SiC fiber are shown. Results show that stresses are reduced when indentation contact loading applies on the material having lower elastic modulus.

  • One of the principal problems encountered in the use of fiber reinforced composites is to establish an active fiber surface to achieve maximum adhesion between resin and fiber surface. In order to improve the interface bonding, the surface of glass fiber should be treated with silane coupling agent in ordinary composite manufacturing processes. However, the price of the coupling agent is very high and in the treating process voids are formed, which decreasees electrical and mechanical strength. We want to develope new process that will overcome the disadvantage of the coupling agent and achieve maximum adhesion at the interface between resin and fiber by active plasma treatment on the glass fiber surface. In this study, we investigate the improvement of contact angle on the glass plate surface as the first step in developing new GFRP.

접착제 접합된 자연섬유강화 복합재료의 파괴강도 특성에 미치는 접착제 필릿의 영향 (Effect of Spew Fillet on Failure Strength Properties of Natural Fiber Reinforced Composites Including Adhesive Bonded Joints)

  • This paper is concerned with a study on fracture strength of composites in an adhesive single lap joint. The tests were carried out on joint specimens made with hybrid stacked composites consisting of the polyester and bamboo natural fiber layer. The main objective of this work was to evaluate the fracture properties adjacent to adhesive bonded joint of natural fiber reinforced composite specimens. From the results, natural fiber reinforced composites have lower tensile strength than the original polyester. But tensile-shear strength of natural fiber reinforced composites with bamboo layer far from adhesive bond is as high as that of the original polyester adhesive bonded joints. Spew filet at the end of the overlap reduced the stress concentration at the bonded area. Spew fillet and position of bamboo natural fiber layer have a peat effect on the tensile-shear strength of natural fiber reinforced composites including adhesive bonded joints.

메탈 파우더와 나노 카본 블랙/섬유강화 복합재료의 전자파 차폐효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Effectiveness of the Metal Powders and Nano Carbon black /Fiber Reinforced Epoxy composites)

  • The objective of this research is to investigate the electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding characteristics of fiber reinforced composites. We fabricated glass and carbon fiber reinforced composites filled with metal powder and nano carbon black. The measurements of shielding effectiveness(SE) were carried out frequency range 300MHz - 1GHz for commercial purposes such as electric or telecommunication devices. The return loss and loss due to absorption were also measured as a function of frequency in the micro wave(300MHz-1GHz) region. It is observed that the SE of the composites is the frequency dependent, increase with the increases in filler loading. The Mg metal powder filled composite showed higher SE compared to that of carbon black. The Mg metal powder/epoxy composite was shown to exhibit up to 40dB of SE. The results indicates that the composite having higher filler loading can be used for the purpose of EMI shielding as well as for some microwave applications.

  • The purpose of this paper is that investigates the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S (wind turbine system) and carries out the evaluation analysis during operating W.T.S. To investigate the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S, the experiments to measure vibration of the blade from the attached accelerometer on the flap and edge section of the blade that is one of the most important elements of dynamic characteristic of W.T.S are performed. Natural frequency and mode shape are calculated with commercial program ( ANSYS) using the measured vibration acceleration that receives the signal with F.F.T Analyzer from the accelerometer For validation of these experiments, the finite element analysis is performed with commercial F.E.M program (ANSYS) on the basis of the natural frequency and mode shape. The results indicate that experimental values have good agreements with the finite element analysis.
