Applying Axiomatic Design to Design Evaluation of a Deep-Sea Manganese Nodule Miner (공리적 설계를 적용한 심해저 망간단괴 집광시스템의 설계평가)

  • The conceptual design evaluation of Deep-Sea Manganese Nodule Miner(DSNM) based on Axiomatic Design was preformed. Functional Requirements(FRs) in functional domain and Design Parameters(DPs) in physical domain were embodied for the given concept design of DSNM. Interactions between FRs and DPs were sequentially analyzed from the first level hierarchy to the lower level hierarchy. The interactions were expressed as design matrices which showed the dependence or independence between FRs and DPs. The results showed that the design of DSNM was not a coupled one, but a decoupled. Finally, it was conceptually verified that DSNM was a good design satisfying the independence axiom of the Axiomatic Design.

A study on the implementation of door control unit for railway trains operable at low and high platforms

  • Currently, as the demand for stops in the urban increases resulting from an increase in the supply of express trains, the development of trains capable of operating both high-floor platforms in the urban and low-floor platforms in the suburbs is required. In this paper, we studied the design and fabrication of a controller for train doors that consists of low and high steps as a plug-in type door mechanism and thus can be used on low and high platforms. This DCU H/W was designed and implemented using 32 bit MCU to control 4 motors, 33 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs. In addition, based on the software life cycle of EN50128, 2 items of operation requirements and 12 items of control requirements were derived, and then they were designed and implemented as operation SW. The implemented SW was tested for each requirement. As a result, we performed tests on 13 items that could be tested in the mock-up out of 14 total requirement items and showed that the requirements were satisfied.

Detection of Functional Failure and Verification of Safety Requirements Using Meta-Models in the Model-Based Design of Safety-Critical Systems (안전중시 시스템의 모델기반 설계에서 메타모델을 활용한 기능 고장의 탐지 및 안전 요구사항 검증)

  • Modern systems have become more and more complex due to the ever-increasing user requirements and rapid advance of technology. As such, the frequency of accidents due to system design errors or failure has been increasing. When the damage incurred by accidents to human beings or property is serious, the underlying systems are referred to as safety-critical systems. The development of such systems requires special efforts to ensure the safety of the human beings operating them. To cope with such a requirement, in this paper an approach is employed in which we consider safety starting from the conceptual design phase of the systems. Specifically, a systems design method that can detect functional failure is proposed by utilizing meta-models and M&S methods. To accomplish this, the safety design data from international safety standards are first extracted and also a meta-model is generated using SysML (systems modeling language). Then, a SysML-based system design method is proposed based on the use of the developed meta-model. We also discuss how the safety requirements can be created and verified using a simulation method. Finally, through a case study in automotive design, it is demonstrated that the detection of a functional failure and the verification of a safety requirement can be accomplished using the SysML-based M&S method. This study indicates that the use of meta-models can be useful for collecting and managing safety data and that the meta-model based M&S method can make it possible to satisfy the system requirements by reducing the design errors.

  • 사례기반추론(Case-Based Reasoning , CBR)은 새로운 문제가 주어질 때 과거의 유사한 문제 해결 사례를 기반으로 그 해법을 적절히 변용함으로써 새로운 문제에 적합한 해결책을 효율적으로 도출하고자 하는 문제 해결 접근 방법이다. 사례기반설계는 사례기반추론을 설계에 응용한 방법으로 유사한 요구 조건하에서 설계된 과거사례를 설계에 참고 및 활용하는 방법으로 선박개념설계 등 여러 분야에서 활용하고 있다. 이러한 사례기반설계기법을 이용하여 효율적으로 고품질의 설계를 도출하기 위해서는 설계하고자 하는 대상의 설계상의 요구조건과 부합되는 사례를 적절히 선정해야 하고, 선정된 사례와 현 설계조건과의 차이점을 명확하게 인지하여 현 상황에 맞게 변용할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 과거 사례 선정 기록을 활용하여 그 선정 경향을 기억기반학습기법을 이용하여 학습함으로써 새로운 설계 시 적절한 사례를 선정하는 인덱싱 기법을 제시한다. 사례기반설계의 전형적인 예인 선박개념설계에서 설계 시 참조용도로 사용할 실적선을 선정하는 문제에 적용하여 실험에 본 결과 decision tree 나 간단한 휴리스틱을 적용하여 참조사례를 제시한 방법에 비해 본 논문에서 제시하는 기억기반학습을 적용한 방법이 우수함을 확인하였다.

  • This paper is the sequel of a companion paper (I. Seismic Design) for design and assessment of the torsional irregular structure using ASCE 7-10 criteria. This study evaluates the influence of torsional provisions on the performance of the designed steel moment frame with different eccentricity, taking the collapse probability as performance metric using the methodology in FEMA P695. The result show that torsional irregular structure designed according to ASCE 7-10 has an excessive seismic performance and the collapse strength is low as the eccentricity increases. To make the design reasonable, a new design approach is proposed in this study.

  • 방대하고 독자적인 시스팀 개발의 급증에 따라 대규모 집적회로의 주문형 설계가 크게 요구되어 지고 있다. 본고에서는 앞으로 그 수요가 팽창될 설계 방식인 표준 셀을 이용한 설계과정을 설명하고, 이제까지의 표준셀 라이브러리 개발 전략과 그 내용에 관해 기술한다. 또한 표준 셀을 이용한 설계 예로서 ICU(Industrial Control Unit)를 들어 다른 설계 방식에 대한 장단점을 고찰하였다.

A Technique for Requirements Normalization and Selection based on Practical Approach (사례 기반의 요구사항 정형화 및 선정 평가 기법)

  • In the customer-centered world, which is used internet and social network services actively, it is important that their needs should be embraced into systems. Our study proposes a technique to normalize and select 1,800 customer's needs at C company. In order to normalize the requirements, we have specified requirements by considering a standard for requirements specification, have identified a set of keywords of requirements and have constructed a relation-graph of requirements. The graph presents objectives to design and build a system, and shows a degree of relative importance for each requirement. And then, we propose a techniques for requirements selection according to their contribution points, which are calculated using relative degree. We demonstrates our techniques by a case study of C company.

A Design Methodology of Relational Database Schema Without the Conceptual Design Step (개념적 설계를 배제한 관계형 데이터베이스 스키마의 설계)

  • The design process of a relational database system consists of requirement analysis, conceptual design using ER diagram, logical design, and physical design. In logical design process, the conceptual schema is transformed to relational schema, and relational schema is normalized. This traditional design process is hard to applied in real database design process, since there is an ambiguity in conceptual design process. In this paper, we suggest a new design process, which provides more structural design steps by removing the conceptual design process. In new approach, we produce the data flow diagram by the structural methodology. From the attributes in the data store of data flow diagram, we construct relational table schema, and we normalize relational schema. Finally we produced table relationship diagram in order to figure out relationships between tables.

Design of Lateral Load Resisting System using Nonlinear Static Analysis (비선형 정적해석을 통한 횡저항 시스템의 보유성능 평가 및 설계방안 연구)

  • The design practice of the lateral resisting system has been traditionally dependent on the experience and know-how of a structural engineer. And the method to reflect the evaluation results of building's capacity on design process doesn't exist. The proposal of a rational design of the lateral load resisting system is based on the available full capacity $(R_{ac})$ of a building and the minimum required capacity $(R_{code})$ suggested in the code. This study suggests thai nonlinear static analysis, which is the estimation of the lateral capacity with the pushover analysis, be included in the existing design procedure of the structure. After finishing the basic structural design, the lateral resisting capacity ol a building is estimated. At the phase of nonlinear static analysis, pushover analysis is peformed to define the fully yielded baseshear $(V_Y)$. When the design wind baseshear $(V_{wind})$ is bigger than the design seismic baseshear $(V_D)$, the value is checked to determine whether or not it is smaller than the $V_Y$. After confirming that it is smaller, the $R_{ac}$ of the structure is computed. If the $V_D$ is bigger at first, only the $R_{ac}$ is computed. When the value of the estimation shows remarkable differences with the $R_{code}$, repetition of the design modification is needed for those approximate to the $R_{code}$. Application of the proposed design procedure to 2-D steel braced RC buildings has proven to be efficient.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속철도 폐색분할 설계를 위한 요구사항을 도출하였다. 경부고속철도 열차제어시스템은 고정폐색방식으로 KTX가 차량의 물리적 특성, 선로환경 등을 고려하여 분할된 폐색구간을 진입할 때, 선행열차의 점유폐색을 기준으로 궤도회로로부터 해당폐색의 열차 진입/진출속도, 운행가능거리, 감속도 등의 운행정보를 전송받는다. 그리고 차상열차제어시스템은 지상에서 수신한 운행정보를 통해 열차제어곡선을 생성하고 열차가 해당폐색의 기준속도를 초과했을 경우, 비상제동명령을 내려 열차의 안전한 운행을 보장한다. 폐색분할은 열차의 안전한 운행을 위해 고정폐색방식에서 수행되는 기본설계로, 폐색분할 설계 결과는 궤도회로를 비롯한 지상열차제어장치의 수량을 산정하는 기준이 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최고운행속도 300km/h로 운행하는 경부고속철도 폐색분할 설계를 기준으로 폐색분할을 위한 입력요구사항에 대해 분석하였다.
