Robust Design of Gate Locations and Process Parameters for Minimizing Injection Pressure of an Automotive Dashboard (자동차 대시보드의 사출압력 최소화를 위한 게이트 위치와 공정조건의 강건설계)

  • In this paper, multiple gate locations and process conditions under concern are automatically optimized by considering robustness to minimize the injection pressure required to mold an automotive dashboard. Computer simulation-based experiments using orthogonal arrays(OA) and a design-range reduction algorithm are consolidated into an iterative search scheme, which is then used as a tool for the optimization process. The robustness of a design is evaluated using an OA-based simulation of process fluctuations due to noise as well as the signal-to-noise ratio. The optimal design solution for the automotive dashboard shows that the robustness of the injection pressure is significantly improved when compared to the initial design. As a result, both the die clamping force and the pressure distribution in the part cavity are also much improved in terms of their robustness.

  • With the increasing tendency to construct high rise reinforced concrete building~i, it is required to use high strength materIals, smaller member sections, and larger reinforcing bars, I t is generally recognized that under severe seismic loads beam column jomts may become more critical structural components than other structural elements. In a ductile momentresistmg reinforced concrete frame, the connection of bearncolumn must be capable of resistll1g the large lateral forces caused by seismic actions, The purpose of this experimental study is to evaluate and ll1vestigate the earthquake resistant perform ance of beam-colurrm subassemblies constructed with high-strength concrete cast by the concrete of com¬pressive strength of 700kg / cm2 subjected to reversed cyclic loadings. New approaches for moving the plastic hinging zone away from the column face and preventing the di¬agonal crack in the joint region are adopted to advance the earthquake-resistant performance of beam-column subassemblies using high-strengh concrete under severe earthquake-type loading. Exper¬imental results indicate that the modified new details which are introduced by intermediate reinforcement in the beam over a specific beam length adjacent to the joint are able to attain the stable hysteretic behavior and the enhancement of earthquake-resistant performance.   • In this paper, we propose an adaptive search range allocation algorithm for high-performance HEVC encoder and a hardware architecture suitable for the proposed algorithm. In order to improve the prediction performance, the existing motion vector is configured with the motion vectors of the neighboring blocks as prediction vector candidates, and a search range of a predetermined size is allocated using one motion vector having a minimum difference from the current motion vector. The proposed algorithm reduces the computation time by reducing the size of the search range by assigning the size of the search range to the rectangle and octagon type according to the structure of the motion vectors for the surrounding four blocks. Moreover, by using all four motion vectors, it is possible to predict more precisely. By realizing it in a form suitable for hardware, hardware area and computation time are effectively reduced.

  • As the population of HDTV is growing, among many useful features of modern set top boxes (STBs) or digital video recorders (DVRs), video browsing, visual bookmark, and picture-in-picture capabilities are very frequently required. These features typically employ reduced-size versions of video frames, or thumbnail images. Most thumbnail generation approaches generate DC images directly from a compressed video stream. A discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficient for which the frequency is zero in both dimensions in a compressed block is called a DC coefficient and is simply used to construct a DC image. If a block has been encoded with field DCT, a few AC coefficients are needed to generate the DC image in addition to a DC coefficient. However, the bit length of a codeword coded with variable length coding (VLC) cannot be determined until the previous VLC codeword has been decoded, thus it is required that all codewords should be fully decoded regardless of their necessary for DC image generation. In this paper, we propose a method especially for fast DC image generation from an I-frame using multiple-symbol lookup table (mLUT). The experimental results show that the method using the mLUT improves the performance greatly by reducing LUT count by 50$\%$.

  • 강의 하도와 연결되어 간헐적으로 침수되는 홍수터는 가장 생산적인 육역 서식처 중 하나이다. 하지만 도시 개발과 농업이용은 강의 하도와 홍수터와의 연결을 제한함으로써 그 기능이 상당부분 축소되었다. 이에 기존 홍수터 서식처를 특성화하고 미래 홍수터 복원을 계획하는 것은 하천관리 및 생태계 회복을 위해서도 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 홍수 흐름의 규모, 시기, 기간, 빈도 등을 포함한 하천 유황 특성과 생태적 반응이 나타나는 홍수터 영역과 흐름 특성을 연계함으로써 서식처를 정량화 하고자 하였다. 이를 위한 홍수터 복원의 시나리오는 현재 지형(기존 홍수터), 제방후퇴, 제방후퇴/구하도 복원, 제방후퇴/배후습지 조성으로 설정하였다. 홍수터 서식처를 정량화하기 위한 방법으로는 일 유량의 수문통계학적 분석, 수리학적 모델링을 통한 범람 분석, 어류 물리서식처 모델링을 통한 가중가용면적 분석 등을 수행하였다. 그 결과 잠재복원영역(Potential Restored Area)에서 연중 기대되는 서식처 면적(Expected Annual Habitat Area)의 크기는 제방후퇴/배후습지 조성, 제방후퇴/구하도 복원, 제방후퇴, 기존 홍수터 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제안된 홍수터 복원에 따른 서식처 정량화 방안은 홍수터 복원 계획 설계 시 시나리오 별 서식처 복원효과를 예측 평가함으로써 보다 효과적인 방안을 마련할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Development of a Practical Method to Optimize Two-Quality Characteristics in Injection Molded Parts (사출 성형품의 두 품질특성 최적화를 위한 실용적 방법의 개발)

  • Optimization of multi-quality characteristics in injection molded parts is very important, but it is sometimes difficult for part/mold designers. The objective of this study is to develop a practical design methodology for optimizing two-quality characteristics of injection molded parts. To attain this end, we developed a new design-range reduction algorithm based on Taguchi's orthogonal arrays for two characteristics. Then, the algorithm was integrated with commercial injection-molding simulation tools. A feature of the proposed methodology is that it allows field-designers unfamiliar with general optimization methods to be able to apply the methodology to their design problems with ease. Finally, we have applied the proposed design methodology to optimization of weldlines and deflections in an actual bezel model. The results show the usefulness of this methodology.

  • 본 논문에서는 유도전동기의 회전자 시정수 오차에 강인한 센서리스 전차원(Full-Order) 자속(Flux) 관측기(Observer)를 제안하였다. 이 관측기는 고정자 자속과 회전자 자속을 동기좌표계상에서 추정한다. 고정자 자속에서 누설 자속을 뺀 공극 자속을 기준으로 제어를 수행하며, 동기좌표계가 공극 자속을 빠르게 따라갈 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법을 적용할 때, 기존의 회전자 자속을 직접 이용하는 방법보다 중-고속 영역에서 회전자 시정수 오차의 영향이 감소함을 확인하였다. 또한 기존 관측기와 달리 제안된 관측기에서 적응제어기(Adaptive Controller)는 전동기의 회전 주파수가 아닌, 전동기의 슬립 주파수 만을 추정하므로, 회전자 자속 오차에 민감한 적응제어기의 역할을 축소하였다. 시뮬레이션 및 실험으로 이론의 타당성 및 효과를 검증하였다.

Optimal Design of the Stacking Sequence on a Composite Fan Blade Using Lamination Parameter (적층 파라미터를 활용한 복합재 팬 블레이드의 적층 패턴 최적설계)

  • In this paper, approximation and optimization methods are proposed for the structural performance of the composite fan blade. Using these methods, we perform the optimal design of the stacking sequence to maximize stiffnesses without changing the mass and the geometric shape of the composite fan blade. In this study, the lamination parameters are introduced to reduce the design variables and space. From the characteristics of lamination parameters, we generate response surface model having a high fitness value. Considering the requirements of the optimal stacking sequence, the multi-objective optimization problem is formulated. We apply the two-step optimization method that combines gradient-based method and genetic algorithm for efficient search of an optimal solution. Finally, the finite element analysis results of the initial and the optimized model are compared to validate the approximation and optimization methods based on the lamination parameters.

Optimization of Gate Location for Melt Flow Balancing in Injection Mold Cavity By Using Recursive Design Area Reduction Method (설계영역 반복축소법에 의한 사출금형의 수지 유동균형을 위한 게이트 위치 최적화)

  • This study introduces an optimization methodology for the determination of gate location that ensures the melt flow balance within a part cavity of injection mold. A new sequential direct-search scheme based on the recursive reduction of the designer-specified gate design area is developed, and it is integrated with a commercial flow simulation tool for optimization. To quantify the level of melt flow balance, we employ the maximum difference among the fill times for the melt fronts to reach the boundary elements of part cavity as objective function. The proposed methodology is successfully applied in the case study of melt flow balancing in molding of a bar code scanner model. The result shows that the melt flow balance at the optimized gate positions is significantly improved from that for the initial gate position.

KAERI 중성빔 음이온원 개념설계

  • ITER를 비롯한 실증로나 상용로급 토카막에서는 중성빔 가열이나 전류구동을 위해 1MeV이상의 빔 에너지가 요구된다. 빔 출력이 가속전압의 5/2승에 비례함에도 불구하고 양이온 빔의 경우 에너지가 높아지면 빔의 중성화 효율이 급격히 감소하여 ITER NBI의 경우 양이온 빔의 중성화 효율은 0%에 가깝다. 한편 음이온 빔은 1MeV 이상의 에너지영역에서도 빔 에너지와 거의 무관하게 60% 정도의 중성화 효율을 갖는다. 따라서 ITER는 음이온 빔을 바탕으로 한 중성빔 가열장치(N-NBI)를 채택하고 있다. 우리나라의 핵융합연구가 핵융합 발전을 지향하는한 N-NBI에 대한 연구를 시작해야 하며 그 출발점으로 음이온원 개념설계를 시작하였다. 개념설계는 음이온원 개발과정을 통해 1) 음이온 생성원리 규명, 2) 음 이온원 핵심기술 확보, 3) 음이온 및 음이온 빔 관련 진단 등을 연구할 수 있는 축소규모의 proto-type 음이온원 개발을 목표로 하였다. 음이온원 개발은, 초기에는 KAERI NB test stand 및 KAERI 이온원의 플라즈마 버켓을 활용하기 위해 filament-arc type으로 시작하지만 어느정도 기반이 확립되면 플라즈마 버켓의 electron dump를 제거하고 그 자리에 RF driver를 장착하여 궁극적으로 RF 음이온원을 개발할 계획이다. 본 학회에 발표하는 포스터는 filament-arc type 음이온원에 대한 개념설계이다. 설계된 음이온원은 Tent-type 자장필터를 장착하며, 0.5A의 수소 음이온빔 인출을 목표로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 플라즈마 버켓, 세슘 공급시스템, bias plate, 플라즈마 그리드, electron deflection 자석이 설치된 인출 그리드, 접지 그리드 등에 대한 개념설계가 이루어 졌다. 이 외에도 음이온원 전원과 진단 시스템에 대해서도 논의하였다.
