A Study on the Design and Implementation of EGSE for Digital Satellite Communication (디지털위성중계기용 성능입증장치의 설계 및 구현에 대한 연구)

  • This study describes the design and implementation of EGSE for Digital Satellite Communication. The EGSE is a equipment that evaluates digital satellite communication and requires precise and accurate measurement. EGSE consists of a PLDIU and IIU(Instrument Interface Unit), Up/Down converter for SHF band, Modems to verify the Digital Satellite Communication. The EGSE was used for performance verification and space environment test such as thermal vacuum after developing digital satellite communication.

Effect of Flow Angles at Nozzle and Solidities on a Partial Admitted Small Axial-Type Turbine (부분분사 소형 축류형터빈에서 현절비와 노즐유동각이 성능에 미치는 연구)

  • Performance characteristics on a partially admitted small axial-type turbine are experimentally studied with changing design parameters, such as exit flow angles at the nozzle and solidities at the rotor. The tested turbine consists of a single-stage and its mean radius is 35 mm. In this experiment, three different solidities and four different nozzle flow angles are applied to find the optimal design parameter. For a comparison of the turbine performance, the net specific output powers are evaluated. For a 3.4% partial admission rate, the best performance is obtained when the rotor solidity is at 2.18, which is increased to 74% compared to the solidity at full admission.

Development of the Dual-Thrust Rocket Motor (이중추력형 로켓 모터의 개발)

  • This paper describes the development of the dual-thrust rocket motor, which gets a significant change in thrust level by varying the burning area of the propellant grain. Reduced smoke propellant of low burning rate was formulated and the finocyl type grain was designed to get the boosting- and sustaining-phase of the thrust level. And the motor firing data were analyzed in detail. Developed motor was applied to the missile system to implement the successful flight test and this development helped to upgrade the performance of the missile system. The results will be usefully applied to the development of the similar rocket motors.

Effects of Semi-Rigid Connection and Foundation Type on Static Behavior of Plastic Greenhouse (부재 교차부와 기초 조건이 비닐하우스의 정적거동에 미치는 영향)

  • 비닐하우스는 매우 세장한 강관부재들을 교차 결합하여 조립한 철골 구조물의 한 종류이다. 현행 설계기준으로 단동 비닐하우스의 최대 구조성능은 풍하중 40m/s, 설하중 50cm에 달한다. 그러나 설계 단계에서는 부재들의 교차결합 특성 및 부재가 직접 지반에 삽입되는 기초의 특성이 적합하게 반영되지 않는 문제점이 있다. 따라서 가력시험을 통하여 반강접 특성을 갖는 부재 교차부 및 지반삽입기초 조건이 구조물의 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 부재 교차부가 강접 조건일 경우와 비교하여 교차부가 반강접일 경우에는 재하지점의 수평강성이 최대 54% 작게 나타났으나 주변 교차절점들에서의 에너지 흡수로 인하여 재하지점과 수평으로 3m 떨어진 지점에서는 반대로 최대 39% 큰 값을 보였다. 지반삽입기초의 경우에는 고정조건과 비교하여 재하지점의 수평강성이 최대 32% 작게 나타났으며, 지점부에서는 기초 조건의 영향으로 최대 26%의 휨강성 증가 효과를 보였다. 부재 교차부와 기초 조건이 구조물의 정적거동에 미치는 영향을 확인하였으나 최대내력과 강성 산정을 통한 구조성능 평가 방법의 개발이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 강원지역은 산지가 89%를 차지하고 있어 도로의 대부분이 하천을 끼고 발달되어 있어서 집중호우 시 하천 만곡 수충부에서 급격한 홍수위 상승과 하상세굴이 발생되고 산지의 수로나 계곡 등에서 토석류가 발생되기 때문에 극심한 도로피해가 빈발하고 있다. 산지하천은 지형 및 지질적인 요인으로 경사가 급한 만곡 수충부가 많이 발달되어 있기 때문에 홍수시 유속이 매우 빠르고 만곡 수충부에서 수위상승과 횡방향 수위변동이 심하다. 따라서 산지유역의 하천과 도로의 방재설계를 위해 평창 속사천 시험유역의 운영을 통하여 신뢰성 있는 고품질의 산간유역 수문자료를 지속적으로 확보하고자 한다. 강우-유출구조 규명을 위한 강우관측소와 수위관측소 등의 계측시스템을 설치와 실시간 수문관측 자료의 전송 및 정기적인 현장 방문으로 수집된 수리수문자료에 대해 DB를 구축을 실시하였다. 또한 홍수시 하천으로 유입되는 토석류의 조도계수 산정을 통해 하천유역내의 수리 구조물의 설계 및 유지관리, 하천개수 및 하도의 안정 등을 평가할 수 있을 것이다. 하천계획에 필요한 유사량을 측정하여 유역의 수문.수리특성에 대한 보다 정확한 규명과 관측된 자료를 이용한 장/단기 수문순환 및 수리모형의 개발을 위한 검정 및 검증자료의 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

  • Recently, public works becoming bigger in Jeju are implemented various kinds of ground reinforcement method including the chemical grouting method. In this study, we have been investigated on the proper material and the injection condition for the excellent injection effect and the excellent strength of injection material and the permanent waterproof and reinforcement through the experiment. The kind of injection material has been selected through the uniaxial compression test and the endurance test of injection material as the chamber test. An experiment was performed with model ground made of scoria, the injection performance of selected material has been identified through the evaluation test of injection range using the decision test of injection amount and the calibration chamber test. As a result of test, it has been analyzed that MSG appeared to have the excellent strength, durability and injection performance all compared with the ordinary cement, this result is judged to be possible as the ancillary data of design at time of design and construction with the chemical grouting method in the future.

Verification of the Reliability of the Numerical Analysis for the Crash Impact Test of Rotorcraft Fuel Tank (회전익항공기용 연료탱크 충돌충격시험에 대한 수치해석 신뢰성 검증)

  • The main function of a fuel tank is to store fuel. On the other hand, the structural soundness of the fuel tank is related directly to the survival of the crew in an emergency situation, such as an aircraft crash, and the relevant performance is demonstrated by a crash impact test. Because crash impact tests have a high risk of failure due to the high impact loads, various efforts have been made to minimize the possibility of trial and error in the actual test at the beginning of the design. Numerical analysis performed before the actual test is a part of such efforts. For the results of numerical analysis to be reflected in the design, however, the reliability of numerical analysis needs to be ensured. In this study, the results of numerical analysis and actual test data were compared to ensure the reliability of numerical analysis for the crash impact test of a rotorcraft fuel tank. For the numerical analysis of a crash impact test, LS-DYNA, crash analysis software, was used and the ALE (arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian) technique was applied as the analysis method. To obtain actual test data, strain gages were installed on the metal fittings of the fuel tank and linked to the data acquisition equipment. The strain and stress of the fuel tank fitting were calculated by numerical analysis. The reliability of the numerical analysis was enhanced by assessing the error between the strain measurement of the upper fitting obtained from an actual fuel tank and the strain calculated from numerical analysis.

Performance Evaluation of Multi-Friction Dampers for Seismic Retrofitting of Structures (구조물 내진보강을 위한 다중 마찰댐퍼의 성능 평가)

  • This paper is a study on the friction damper, which is one of the seismic reinforcement devices for structures. This study developed a damper by replacing the internal friction material with ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), a type of composite material. In addition, this study applied a multi-friction method in which the internal structure where frictional force is generated is laminated in several layers. To verify the performance of the developed multi-friction damper, this study performed a characteristic analysis test for the basic physical properties, wear characteristics, and disc springs of the material. As a result of the wear test, the mass reduction rate of UHMWPE was 0.003%, which showed the best performance among the friction materials based on composite materials. Regarding the disc spring, this study secured the design basic data from the finite element analysis and experimental test results. Moreover, to confirm the quality stability of the developed multi-friction damper, this study performed an seismic load test on the damping device and the friction force change according to the torque value. The quality performance test result showed a linear frictional force change according to the torque value adjustment. As a result of the seismic load test, the allowable error of the friction damper was less than 15%, which is the standard required by the design standards, so it satisfies the requirements for seismic reinforcement devices.

Seismic Performance Evaluation of Full-size Non-seismic Circular RC Bridge Piers with Longitudinal Steel Lap splice (주철근 겹침이음된 실물 비내진 원형 교각의 내진성능평가)

  • Most bridge piers were practically designed and constructed with lap spliced longitudinal reinforcing steels before the 1992 seismic design provisions of Korea Bridge Design Specification were implemented. It has been known that lap splice of longitudinal reinforcement in the plastic hinge region is not desirable for seismic performance of RC bridge piers. The objective of this research is to evaluate the seismic performance of existing circular reinforced concrete bridge piers by the Quasi-static test and to propose the need of seismic retrofit of existing bridge piers through the damage level. Test specimens were nonseismically designed with the aspect ratio 4.0 which could induce the flexural failure mode. It was confirmed from this experiment that significant reduction of seismic performance was observed for test specimens with lap spliced longitudinal reinforcing steels. Pertinent seismic retrofit was determined to be needed for existing RC bridge piers with the lap-spliced of $50\%$ longitudinal reinforcing steels.
