Hydraulic Characteristics of Fractured Rock Mass in KURT by Single Hole Test and Cross-Hole Connectivity Test (단일 시추공 시험과 시추공 간 수리 연결성 시험에 의한 KURT 내 균열 암반의 수리특성 연구)

  • Nuclear power generation, which belongs to the eco-friendly energy category, has a comparative advantage over other power generation methods in terms of cost and efficiency, and its share of electricity energy has recently shifted to an increasing trend worldwide. In Korea, various empirical studies have been conducted centering on KURT (KEARI Underground Research Tunnel) to secure elemental technology necessary for safe and efficient disposal of high-level radioactive waste inevitably generated during the operation of nuclear power plants. Considering the domestic rock type and geological conditions, the multi-barrier system is evaluated as the most effective among various high-level radioactive waste disposal methods. The objectives of this study were, first, to evaluate the hydraulic characteristics of deep and low-permeable rock masses and second, to secure quantitative information on the hydraulic connectivity between boreholes for establishing a large-scale in-situ test system necessary for the proper design and stability evaluation of the multi-barrier system. In this regard, diverse borehole tests using DHTS (Deep borehole Hydraulic Testing System) were performed in the two research modules in KURT, and in particular, the injection type cross-hole hydraulic connectivity tests were successfully completed for the first time in Korea. In this paper, we briefly introduced MDST (Mini Downhole Shut-in Tool) developed to update the performance of DHTS and mainly discussed the key results obtained from the stepwise in-situ borehole tests.

  • 도로 및 철도에서 발생하는 소음을 저감시키기 위해 설치되는 방음벽은 흡음률, 투과손실 등과 같은 음향성능 외에도 태풍과 같은 강풍에 견딜 수 잇는 구조성능이 확보되어야 한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 지역별 특성 및 풍속을 고려한 풍압을 산정하는 방법을 소개하고, 풍압에 의한 방음판의 구조해석을 수행하였다. 또한, EN 1794-1의 규정에서 정하는 시험방법에 따른 방음판의 하중변형량 시험을 통하여 방음판의 구조성능을 평가하였다.

  • Since the positive viability field remains the way it was in the 2010s, the ship test evaluation in the viability field is being applied to withstand the attack on an extremely limited kind of weapon system even the latest ship. In response, this paper analyzed and considered maritime warfare during the Russia-Ukraine War, which is an example of the latest war paradigm shift, and diagnosed the status of test evaluation in the field of Naval ship survivability to derive realistic development measures such as reflecting threat development trends, strengthening attack and damage control evaluation, confirming ship viability limits, and realizing test evaluation plans.

  • 터널은 긴 선상구조물로서 사정조사결과와 다른 지질조건이 나타날 수 있으므로, 안전하고 합리적인 터널공사를 위해서는 시공중 지질조건에 적합한 지보설계를 실시하는 것이 필수적이다. 이를 위해서는 시공중 터널주변자반에 대한 정량적이고 공학적인 평가가 매우 중요하다. 그러나 시공중 암반을 평가하는 것은 매우 어렵고 조사자의 경험과 지식의 차이에 의해 평가정도가 크게 달라져 그 불합리성이 심화되고 있는 실정으로 터널주변암반에 대한 합리적인 평가방법이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 터널화상처리, GeoCAD, 역해석으로 구성된 평기시스템을 개발하였다. 본 시스템은 터널막장에서의 조사.시험 및 화상처리기법을 통하여 암반분류.평가를 실시하고, 터널주변 지반구조 및 굴착/지보과정의 3차원 모델링을 통하여 전방지질을 예측가능하게 하며, 터널계측자료의 역해석을 통하여 터널주변 지반의 물성을 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 체계적이고 종합적인 평가시스템이다. 또한 이를 NATM 공법으로 시공되는 터널현장에 적용하므로써 본 시스템의 현장적용성을 검증하였으며, 이를 통해 적절한 지보공을 시공하여 터널의 안정성을 확보하고 합리적인 시공관리를 달성할 수 있었다.

A Study on Magnitude Scaling Factors and Screening Limits of Liquefaction Potential Assessment in Moderate Earthquake Regions (중진지역에 적합한 액상화 평가 생략기준 및 지진규모 보정계수에 관한 연구)

  • Conventional methods for the assessment of liquefaction potential were primarily for areas of severe earthquake zones (M=7.5) such as North America and Japan. Detailed earthquake related researches in Korea started in 1997, including development of the seismic design standards for port and harbour structures, which was later completed in 1999. Because most contents in the guidelines were quoted through literature reviews from North America and Japan, which are located in strong earthquake region, those are not proper in Korea, a moderate earthquake region. This requires further improvement of the present guidelines. Considering earthquake hazard data in Korea, use of laboratory tests based on irregular earthquake motion appears to be effective to reflect the dynamic characteristics of soil more realistically than those using simplified regular loading. In this study, cyclic triaxial tests using irregular earthquake motions are performed with different earthquake magnitudes, relative densities, and fines contents. Assessment of liquefaction potential in moderate earthquake regions is discussed based on various laboratory test results. Effects of these components on dynamic behavior of soils are discussed as well. From the test results, screening limits and magnitude scaling factors to determine the soil liquefaction resistance strength in seismic design were re-investigated and proposed using normalized maximum stress ratios under real irregular earthquake motions.

Field Application of 80MPa High Strength Fire Resistant Concrete using Ternary Blended Cement (설계강도 80MPa 3성분계 고강도내화콘크리트의 현장적용 및 성과분석)

  • Fire resistance and field tests for high-strength concrete(HSC) of 80MPa were carried out to evaluate whether or not it shows the same material properties even in the field condition of being mass-produced and supplied. As a result, it was found that fire resistant HSCs containing composite fiber(NY, PP) of 0.075% have great resistance to fire and spalling. In the field test, before the pumping air contents, slump flow, U-box, L-flow, compressive strength, gap of hydration temperature of interior and exterior of specimen and placing ratio per hour satisfied the required properties of HSC. However, after the pumping of HSC, as slump flow and L-flow were slightly less than required criterion, they need to be improved. In terms of hydration temperature of HSC, it was found to satisfy the related criterion. Packing ability as well as placing ratio per hour of HSC, which was about $44m^3$, show outstanding results. If slump flow of developed ternary HSC is improved after the pumping it can be useful for the construction of high-rise buildings.

  • In case of rock bolt useable by tunnel reinforcement methods at field is applied problem of typical rock bolt pull test diagram method propositional in documents and is not thesis of clearness analysis basis about result of rock bolt pull test. So this paper suggested in consideration of foreign basis and field condition that the first, "suggestion of apposite diagram method at tight ground and difference application of rock bolt pull test method at loose and tight ground" and the second, "thesis of estimation basis non-thesis of design and specification, test etc".

  • In this study, to evaluate fatigue characteristics of developed composite bridge deck, compression fatigue test at girder support and flexural fatigue test for the 2.8m-long flexural test model were carried out. For the test specimen, DB 24 truck load was applied up to 2,000,000 cycles. In the compression fatigue test, behavior at deck tube and its bonded connection were evaluated. In the flexural fatigue test, deck behavior at mid-span and girder connection were evaluated.

Case Studies on the Experiments for Long-Term Shear Behavior of Rock Discontinuities (암반 내 불연속면의 장기 전단 거동 평가를 위한 고찰)

  • Long-term shear behavior of the rock discontinuities should be analyzed and its stability should be evaluated to ensure the long-term stability of a high-level radioactive waste disposal repository. The long-term shear behavior of the discontinuities can be modeled with creep and RSF models. The shear creep test, velocity step test, and slide-hold-slide test can be performed to determine their model parameters or analyze the shear behavior by experiments under various conditions. Testing apparatuses for direct shear, triaxial compression, and biaxial shear were mainly used and improved to reproduce the thermo-hydro-mechanical conditions of local bedrock, and it was confirmed that the shear behavior could vary. In order to design a high-level radioactive waste disposal site in Korea, the long-term behavior of rock discontinuities should be investigated in consideration of rock types, thermo-hydro-mechanical conditions, metamorphism, and restoration of shear resistance.

Efficacy and Safety of a Biodegradable Hyaluronic Acid Microneedle Patch for Dry Skin in Atopic Dermatitis : A Single-blinded, Split-body, Randomized Controlled Trial (아토피피부염 피부건조 증상 개선에 대한 용해성 마이크로니들 패치의 유효성 및 안전성 평가 임상연구)

  • 목적 : 마이크로니들 패치는 피부장벽의 주요 구성성분인 각질층을 관통할 수 있어 일반적인 경피를 통한 약물 전달 수단보다 더 효율적으로 약물을 전달할 수 있다는 장점이 있어 다양한 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 본 임상연구는 아토피피부염 환자의 피부 건조 증상에 대하여 용해성 히알루론산 마이크로니들 패치와 외용제를 병행하여 용해성 마이크로니들 패치의 유효성과 안전성을 평가하였다. 방법 : 본 연구는 단일 기관, 연구자 주도, 평가자 눈가림, 인체 분할 연구로 설계된 무작위 배정 임상시험으로, 피부건조 증상이 있는 아토피피부염 환자 20명을 대상으로 임상연구를 수행하였다. 한 명의 피험자에서 2곳의 시험 병변을 선택한 후, 무작위 배정으로 각각 시험 병변과 대조 병변을 결정하여 2주 동안 매일 양측 병변에 모두 아로마 크림을 도포한 다음, 시험 병변에만 용해성 히알루론산 마이크로니들 패치를 추가로 부착하였다. 결과 : 1차 유효성 평가지표인 local scoring atopic dermatitis(L-SCORAD) index는 치료 후에 시험 병변이 대조 병변보다 유의성 있게 호전되었다. 2차 유효성 평가지표 중 피부 건조감 VAS와 피부 수분 함유량도 시험 병변이 대조 병변보다 유의성 있는 개선을 보였다. Investigator's Global Assessment scale, 소양감 VAS, 경피수분손실량에 있어서는 시험 병변과 대조 병변 모두 치료 후에 유의성 있게 호전되었으나, 두 병변 간의 차이에는 유의성이 없었다. 이상 반응은 나타나지 않았으므로 안전성도 확인되었다. 결론 : 용해성 히알루론산 마이크로니들 패치와 외용제 병행치료는 외용제만 사용하였을 때보다 L-SCORAD index 및 피부 건조감 VAS, 피부 수분 함유량에 있어서 아토피피부염의 증상을 유의성 있게 개선시켰다.
