Study on Development of Korean Unmanned Systems through Analysis of U.S. Unmanned Systems Policy (미국의 무인체계 정책 분석을 통한 한국의 무인체계 발전에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents a method to efficiently advance the Republic of Korea's Unmanned Systems through the analysis of the development of the U.S. Unmanned System Policy. After the occurrence of the September 11 attacks, the U.S. developed Unmanned Systems as a part of RMA and became the leader in this area. The system went through numerous trials and errors during the development and acquisition. From these experiences, the U.S. had embodied Unmanned Systems acquisition methods by establishing Unmanned Systems Development Guidance and DoD Autonomy Community of Interest in 2012. In addition, as diverse unmanned programs started to proceed, it promoted Core Technology development sharing and simplification of functions of the Unmanned Systems to exclude budget-wasting elements such as duplication of programs. The Republic of Korea must politically build a collaborative system between industry/academia/research institute/military and apply evolutionary development strategies from the first step of the development of the Unmanned Systems the future Game Changer. In operations, concepts of the Manned/Unmanned Systems complex operation should be established and intelligent S/W, Open System, and Cyber Security technologies to materialize them developed.

Face Detection for Automatic Avatar Creation by using Deformable Template and GA (Deformable Template과 GA를 이용한 얼굴 인식 및 아바타 자동 생성)

  • This paper proposes the method to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth in a color image for making an avatar automatically. First, we use the HSI color model to exclude the effect of various light condition, and we find skin regions in an input image by using the skin color is defined on HS-plane. And then, we use deformable templates and Genetic Algorithm(GA) to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth. Deformable templates consist of B-spline curves and control point vectors. Those can represent various shape of a face, eyes and a mouth. And GA is very useful search procedure based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. Second, an avatar is created automatically by using contours and Fuzzy C-means clustering(FCM). FCM is used to reduce the number of face color As a result, we could create avatars like handmade caricatures which can represent the user's identity, differing from ones generated by the existing methods.

Development of an Arc Segmentation Technique Based on Line Segment Expansion from Simple Drawing (단순한 도면으로부터 선분 확장을 이용한 아크 분할 기법 개발)

  • This paper presents a new arc segmentation method which extracts curves from simple drawing consisted of straight lines and curves and segments them into circular arcs. First, it finds center points and finds line segments and curve segments by tracing connected center points. Next, it expands the segment by searching neighbor segment at the two endpoints. Next, it removes straight lines and segments the extracted curves into circular arcs by using the recursive subdivision method. The proposed method has been compared with previous vectorization software and vector based arc segmentation method. Experimental results show that the proposed method produces more correct results for the curves which contain intersection with other lines or curves.

  • 초고압 지중송전선로에 적용되는 가교절연 케이블은 전기적 측성의 우수성과 유지보수의 용이성 때문에 확대적용되고 있다. 345kV급 지중송전선로는 장거리 계통에 적용이 되고 있으며, 이에 따라 접속재부분의 개발도 중요하게 되었다. 배전선로에 사용되던 Plug-in 종단접속재를 송전용 가스중종단접속재(EBG)에 적용함으로써 선로 결합 시에 사용되는 부품의 수를 줄이고, 작업공정의 단순화를 이룰 수 있었다. 아직 국내제품으로는 초고압 Plug-in 종단접속재가 실계통에 적용된 경우는 없으나 이번 220kV용 Plug-in 종단접속재를 개발함으로서 당사의 기술력 확보를 이룰 수 있었으며, PMJ와 마찬가지로 세계적인 인증기간인 네덜란드 KEMA에서 제품에 대한 신뢰성 인증을 받았다.

  • It has been increased that communicate each other things such as consumer electronics, mobile equipments and wearable computer with serial communication protocol. The conventional method of SPI and I2C high speed serial communication is widely used with 2 pin of clock and data pin. It has been more important than the speed of data transfer to simplify the hardware structure because the IoT components is reduced the hardware complexity. In this paper, we describe the protocol and implementation of serial data transfer with only one pin. The proposed protocol is suitable for the mobile products that send and receive the small amount of data with low speed and low power consumption.

An Analytical Study on the Simplification of the Shape of PS Tendon Through the Optimization of Material Properties (재료 물성 최적화를 통한 PS 강연선의 형상 단순화에 관한 해석적 연구)

  • This paper derives material properties of steel bars that simulate the distribution of stress and strain of prestressed tendons used in Prestressed concrete(PSC) girders and presents an optimal material model. ABAQUS software was used to establish the 3D solid model of the PSC girder and strand wire rope for a PS(Prestressed) tendon. Then the model of steel wire rope was imported into the Isight interface plugin directly through the ABAQUS and the Data Matching. In ABAQUS, the contact pairs were established, the models were meshed, the constraints were applied to solve the finite element model and an axial tension of 0.5m/s was loaded to analyze the stress and deformation distributions in the normal working range of the PS strand wire rope. In Data Matching, classical experimental data is fitted to the optimal material properties through finite element analysis and multi-objective optimization. The results show that the steel bar with optimal material properties presents a similar linear area and stress distribution with the PS tendon.

  • This study investigated an evolutionary process of In-game Animation and researched on the action of realization establishing virtual reality. In-game Animation, functioning as contents to visualize games, is responsible for conveying information to achieve goals of games. In-game Animation which is affected by graphic technology was initiated with setting up indicators by dot and line. Followed by the development of technology, In-game Animation has pursued realization, after passing through processes of iconography, materialization, and dimensionalization. The realization of In-game Animation does not simply imitate the real world but creates meaning of reality by establishing space with various factors such as characters and background along with the story, under the premise of virtuality. The realization of In-game Animation is very important to provide the experience of immersion, as it forms a sense of presence through such visual tactility. The process to create meaning of reality provides gamers with experiences, and leads them to expand senses through visual perception and finally absorb the virtuality as reality. Therefore, the image of In-game Animation does not simply imitate the real world but creates meaning of reality by establishing space with various factors such as characters and background along with the story, under the premise of virtuality. The realization of In-game Animation is not limited to blindly portray a realistic image. In addition, the process of realization pursued by In-game Animation is an action to immerse in the game rather than a mere product of technological development.

최근 우리나라 조선산업의 모습과 장래 전망

  • 우리나라 조선산업이 21세기에 명실상부한 선진 조선국으로 발돋움하기 위해서는 단기적으로는 가격경쟁력의 강화가 요구되나 장기적으로는 기술자립화를 통해 과거 가격위주의 경쟁체제에서 기술위주의 경쟁체제로 전환함으로써 질적인 성장을 추구해야 할 것이다. 또한 우리나라의 조 선산업은 세계조선시장을 리드하는 선도국으로서 세계선박수급구조의 안정화에 노력하고 지구 해양환경보호를 위한 국제적인 프로그램에 적극 참여하는 한편, 후발조선국에 대한 기술협력, 기술지도 등 국제협력도 강화하여 명실상부한 선진조선국의 면모를 갖추어야 할 것이다. 이를 효과적으로 추진하기 위해서는 다음과 같은 과제를 해결해야 할 것이다. 첫째, 효율적 기술개발을 통한 건조기술의 재고가 그 무엇보다도 중요하다. 즉 단기적으로는 주요 대체수요 선박이면서 국내 주력건조선박인 탱커, 벌크케리어 등 재래단순형 선박에 대해 성에 너지화, 성인력화 및 표준선형화하고, 선박 생산공정의 개선, 생산성 향상을 통해 가격경쟁력을 지속적으로 확보해야할 것이다. 그러나 중장기적으로는 가스운반선,카페리선, 초고속선 등의 부가가치선박에 대한 건 조기술의 자립화로 이들 선종을 주력선종화하여 해외 수주 경쟁력을 재고시켜야 한다. 이와함께 심해탐사장비, 해양구조부유물 등의 해양개발장비의 개발로 사업영역을 확대해야할 것이다. 상 기의 각종 기술재발을 효율적으로 추진하기 위해서는 범국가적인 연구체제의 구성을 통한 산학연 공동연구형태로 추진하는 것이 바람직하다. 둘째, 핵심 조선기자재의 국산화와 품질 향상이 필 요하다. 향후 조선기자재의 국산화추진은 과거 개발 품목의 확대에서 벗어나 핵심적이고 부가 가치가 높은 품목 위주의 질적 국산화로 전환되어야 할 것이며, 이때 국산화이후 조선소의 적 극적인 구매가 전제되어야 할 것이다. 또한 기자재의 품질, 성능검사기능의 강화와 다수요 품목을 중심으로한 표준화, 규격화의 확대 추진으로 지속적인 품질향상과 원가절감을 도모해야한다. 특히 조선기자재업체의 영세상을 감안하여 조선소 인근지역에 단지화함으로써 생산설비의 현 대화, 자재의 공동구매, 물류비용의 절감 등을 기해 가격경쟁력을 강화해야 할 것이다. 또한 업계 공동의 해외판매망, A/S망의 직수출을 늘려야 할 것이다. 셋째, 국제협력 강화로 통상환경에 적극 대응해야 한다. 다자간조선협정 발효에 따른 제소 가능성에 대비하여 관민차원의 국제협 력을 강화하는 한편, 회계 기준의 통일, 제소사례의 연구 등을 업계 공동으로 추진하는 것이 바 람직하다. 또한 향후 2010년이후에 중국을 비롯한 후발조선국에 대해 조선협정에의 참여를 유도, 세계조선시장의 수급안정화에 노력해야할 것이다. 그외에 국제적으로 추진되는 지구그린화에 주도적 역할을 수행해야 할 것이다. 넷째, 선박금융제도의 개선과 신금융상품의 개발이 요구된다. 내수 수요인 계획조선의 지원조건을 개선하고 연불수출자금을 BBC자금으로 활용토록하여 국내 선주들의 신조를 유도해야 할 것이다. 그 외에 향후 금융개방화에 맞추어 해외자금을 활용한 리스금융, 상사금융 등의 민간신용제도를 더욱 활성화하고 선진국의 선박금융기법에 대한 연구 및 도입 등 선주들에게 다양한 선박건조자금을 제공하여 내수기반 확충에도 노력해야 할 것 이다.

Using Big Data and Small Data to Understand Linear Parks - Focused on the 606 Trail, USA and Gyeongchun Line Forest, Korea - (빅데이터와 스몰데이터로 본 선형공원 - 시카고 606 트레일과 서울 경춘선 숲길을 중심으로 -)

  • This study selects two linear parks representing each culture and reveals the differences between them using a visitor survey as small data and social media analytics as big data based on the three components of the model of landscape perception. The 606 in Chicago, U.S., and the Gyeongchun Line in Seoul, Korea, are representative parks built on railroads. A total of 505 surveys were collected from these parks. The responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, principal component analysis, and linear regression. Also, more than 20,000 tweets which mentioned two linear parks respectively were collected. By using those tweets, the authors conducted the clustering analysis and draw the bigram network diagram for identifying and comparing the placeness of each park. The result suggests that more diverse design concept links to less diversity in behavior; that half of the park users use the park as a shortcut; and that same physical exercise provides different benefits depending on the park. Social media analysis showed the 606 is more closely related to the neighborhoods rather than the Gyeongchun Line Forest. The Gyeongchun Line Forest was a more event-related place than the 606.

Development of ZnS(Ag)/plastic dual scintillator sheet for simultaneous alpha- and beta-ray counting (알파 및 베타선 동시측정용 ZnS(Ag)/플라스틱 이중섬광체 검출센서 개발)

  • Dual scintillator for simultaneous alpha- and beta-ray counting used by detection materials of a surface contamination monitor was developed. In this study, preparation method was not a heat melting method but a solvent method, by which the counting material was manufactured by dissolving the polymer materials with solvent. It was simplified the preparation process. Plastic scintillator for beta-ray counting was prepared by solidifying the casting solution mixed with organic scintillator, polymer, and solvent. ZnS(Ag) scintillator layer was prepared by screen printing the paste solution mixed with ZnS(Ag), paste, and solvent onto the plastic layer. The good counting ability for alpha- and beta-ray using the ZnS(Ag)/plastic dual scintillator prepared and possibility for the counting material of surface contamination monitor was confirmed.
