Decision-Making System of UAV for ISR Mission Level Autonomy (감시정찰 임무 자율화를 위한 무인기의 의사결정 시스템)

  • Autonomous system for UAVs has a capability to decide an appropriate current action to achieve the goal based on the ultimate mission goal, context of mission, and the current state of the UAV. We propose a decision-making system that has an ability to operate ISR mission autonomously under the realistic limitation such as low altitude operation with high risk of terrain collision, a set of way points without change of visit sequence not allowed, and position uncertainties of the objects for the mission. The proposed decision-making system is loaded to a Hardware-In-the-loop Simulation environment, then tested and verified using three representative scenarios with a realistic mission environment. The flight trajectories of the UAV and selected actions via the proposed decision-making system are presented as the simulation results with discussion.

A comparison study of Bayesian high-dimensional linear regression models (베이지안 고차원 선형 회귀분석에서의 비교연구)

  • We consider linear regression models in high-dimensional settings (p ≫ n) and compare various classes of priors. The spike and slab prior is one of the most widely used priors for Bayesian regression models, but its model space is vast, resulting in a bad performance in finite samples. As an alternative, various continuous shrinkage priors, including the horseshoe prior and its variants, have been proposed. Although each of the above priors has been investigated separately, exhaustive comparative studies of their performance have been conducted very rarely. In this study, we compare the spike and slab prior, the horseshoe prior and its variants in various simulation settings. The performance of each method is demonstrated in terms of the regression coefficient estimation and variable selection. Finally, some remarks and suggestions are given based on comprehensive simulation studies.

Cost Analysis for the Reformation of CCTV Transmission Systems (CCTV 전송방식 전환에 따른 비용 분석)

  • CCTV Systems have been operated in the variety of serveillance fields of the apartment, transportation, safety, physical security, and so on. And their uses are largely increasing as the CCTV transmission technology has been changed from analog to IP network way. Domestic industry has been working to upgrade from analog CCTV systems to High-Definition(HD) CCTV systems for recent years, which involves a few issues such as mixing with several transmission technologies and duplicated investment in each area because the technological analysis and criteria are specifically not arranged. This paper examines the technical issues of the transmission method between HD analog and HD IP CCTV systems, and induces the criteria of the cost analysis and its weighting factors for HD CCTV reformation. By simulating the cost analysis results of both the HD CCTV systems on apartment environment, this paper proposes the reference for the choice of HD CCTV system reformation.

Dual-Band Antenna Design for LTE/Wi-Fi for Maritime Broadband Communication (해상 광대역 통신을 위한 LTE/Wi-Fi용 이중대역 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, we design an antenna for LTE / Wi-Fi communication that operates in 2.65 GHz and 5 GHz band for small-sized broadband communication antenna that can be used in the sea. Microstrip patch antennas were chosen to improve the bandwidth. The slot width, length, and transmission line width were calculated using the theoretical formula for each step. In addition, we designed a microstrip antenna using CST Microwave Studio 2014 program that can design 3D. Simulation results show that the reflection lossis -12.712 dB at 2.65 GHz and -16.583 dB at 5 GHz. The gain was 1.738 dBi at 2.65 GHz and 3.284 dBi at 5 GHz. In this paper, we propose a dual-band antenna for LTE / Wi-Fi, which can be used in maritime environments, which is worse than terrestrial communication, because of differences in communication speed and communication stability compared with those used on land.

  • This paper presents implementation possibilities of digital IoT doorlock systems via VLC(Visible Light Communication)'s color grid. The color grid-based VLC modulation scheme which are discussed in this paper utilize the straightness of light and abundant frequency resources which are the properties of the light. Performance results in this paper are compared to that of conventional modulations with Bit Error Rate (BER) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) simulations. With respect to a channel model, the proposed modulation schemes select the nearest Line Of Sight (LOS) except Non Line Of Sight (NLOS). Experiments in this paper show error rates of received symbols by changing power dB at a distance of 3m between Tx and Rx in an indoor environment. Through performance results and experiments, this paper demonstrates superiority of the proposed color grid-based modulation schemes.

UWB/Bluetooth for a High Speed Wireless Communication Network Dual Band Microstrip Antenna Design (해상 고속 무선 통신망을 위한 UWB/Bluetooth용 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계)

  • Communication antennas used at sea have been developed remarkably. However, the speed of this development is insufficient when compared with user demands. Therefore, we developed an antenna for UWB/Bluetooth that operates on 3 [GHz] and 5.72 [GHz] bands in order to use the high-speed communication network system which improved antenna miniaturization, gain and radiation patterns. To improve bandwidth, a microstrip patch antenna was selected and CST Microwave Studio 2014 program was used. Through the program, we calculated the slot width, length, transmission line width, etc. using a theoretical formula at each step. These figures were checked through simulation to see if they meet production standards. UWB for high-speed wireless communication for short-range communication at sea, Bluetooth for exchanging information at a short distance by connecting each device, and corresponding technology can be easily utilized.

  • In the EH-WSN (Energy harvesting wireless sensor network), a MAC (medium access control) protocol is required to select a relay node considering the power status of a node. Existing EH-WSN studies emphasize the power aspect, so it does not consider the QoS like the urgency of the sensed data. The required power and transmission delay must be changed according to the urgency so that the medium access control according to the data QoS can be performed. In case of relay node, relaying data without consideration of data urgency and node power may cause delay due to power shortage in case of urgent data. In this paper, we designed a MAC protocol that minimizes the power shortage that can occur during emergency data generation. For this, relay node requirements are set differently according to the urgency of data. The performance was analyzed through simulation. Simulation results show the reduced latency and improved reliability of urgent data transmission.

Deep Learning Based User Scheduling For Multi-User and Multi-Antenna Networks (다중 사용자 다중 안테나 네트워크를 위한 심화 학습기반 사용자 스케쥴링)

  • In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based scheduling scheme for user selection in multi-user multi-antenna networks which is considered one of key technologies for the next generation mobile communication systems. We obtained 90,000 data samples from the conventional optimal scheme to train the proposed neural network and verified the trained neural network to check if the trained neural network is over-fitted. Although the proposed neural network-based scheduling algorithm requires considerable complexity and time for training in the initial stage, it does not cause any extra complexity once it has been trained successfully. On the other hand, the conventional optimal scheme continuously requires the same complexity of computations for every scheduling. According to extensive computer-simulations, the proposed deep learning-based scheduling algorithm yields about 88~96% average sum-rates of the conventional scheme for SNRs lower than 10dB, while it can achieve optimal average sum-rates for SNRs higher than 10dB.

  • Online retail business has provided internet-based companies with the opportunities to be connected with online customers from all over the world. However, many online customers do not complete their transactions online even if they have already choose what they want because they perceive online payment service is risky or perceive difficulty of paying online. A large body of researchers have examined the important variables that influence online payment, however, these studies can hardly predict the future development tendency after five or ten years since the environment of online market changes so fast more than ever. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the importance of factors affecting online payment and to provide long term dynamic decision making model for third-party payment companies and online service providers. To serve the purpose, this study used system dynamics approach to develop a model of online payment adoption and to simulate various development paths for ten years. The analysis results show that the number of online payment customers increase continuously in ten years, and service quality, system quality, and effort expectancy are key factors for customers to pay online.

  • Noise removal is one of the required step in processing digital video and there are many researches to develop algorithm that fits with its purpose and environment. However, present impulse noise removal methods are lacking in its function in terms of removing noise in edge and high frequency factors. Therefore, this research has Extended range of masks depending on density to determine noise so that high frequency factors can be preserved. The range of resolution is set based on median and standard deviation of inside resolution after removing impulse noise. afterwards, those resolution within the range are calculated by adding weight to have the final output value. The suggested algorithm has an enhanced function in removing noise in various areas with many edge and high frequency factors than present methods and their functions are compared through simulation.
