Studies on the Removal of Volatile Organic Compounds in Wastewater using PTMSP/PDMS-PEI Composite Membrane by Pervaporation (PTMSP/PDMS-PEI 복합막을 이용한 폐수중의 휘발성 유기화합물 제거에 관한 연구)

  • In order to improve flux of PTMSP/PDMS dense membrane, PTMSP/PDMS-PEI composite membrane with PEI support was prepared by phase inversion process and dip coating. These membranes were evaluated in terms of the removal of volatile organic compounds such as PCE, TCE, chloroform, 1,1,1-trichloroethane from wastewater by pervaporation. The selectivity and flux of PTMSP/PDMS dense membranes was in the range of 216.2 to 2394.4 and 244.3 to 428.2g/m2h, respectively. And pervaporation property of PTMSP/PDMS-PEI composite membrane was in the range of 215.5 to 2404.2 and 390.4 to 728.6g/m2h, respectively. PTMSP/PDMS-PEI composite membrane has remarkably greater flux than dense membranes with similar selectivity. It was possible for polymeric membranes used in this study to remove PCE selectively which is dissolved small quantity in water among other separable solutes. PTMSP/PDMS-PEI composite membrane showed the best performances among the silicone polymeric membranes, and has better durability and mechanical strength than dense membranes. PTMSP/PDMS-PEI composite membrane should be a useful candidate for the removal of volatile organic compounds dissolved in wastewater.

A Study on Removal of NOx in Diesel Engine using Reductive Catalyst (환원촉매를 이용한 디젤엔진 배기가스 중 NOx 저감에 관한 연구)

  • To eliminate $NO_x$ in diesel emission. selective catalyst reduction (SCR) was used in real diesel engine. Among the SCR methods, metal oxide and perovskite catalysts were introduced in this paper. The removal efficiencies with various major, promoter catalysts on ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ at different reaction temperature were investigated, and $LaCuMnO_x$ catalyst which has high removal efficiency at the temperature of real diesel exhaust gas was selected. $NO_x$ reduction was carried out over these catalysts in the flow-through type reactor using by-pass ($SV=3,300h^{-1}$). Under the given condition to this study, perovskite catalysts showed considerably high removal efficiency and $LaCuMnO_x$ was the best one among these catalysts in the temperature range of $150{\sim}450^{\circ}C$.

Characteristics of Semi-Aqueous Cleaning Solution with Carboxylic Acid for the Removal of Copper Oxides Residues (산화구리 잔유물 제거를 위한 카르복시산 함유 반수계 용액의 세정특성)

  • In this study, semi-aqueous solutions containing carboxylic acids such as oxalic acid (OA), lactic acid (LA) and citric acid (CA) were formulated for the removal of copper etching residues produced at the interconnection process, and their characteristics were analyzed. Carboxylic acids in the solutions were apt to form various copper complexes according to the value of pH. Semi-aqueous solution containing 10 wt% CA showed the lowest etching rate of copper in the range from pH2 to pH7 and the highest selectivity in the range of pH 2 to pH 4. However, the cleaning solution containing 10 wt% LA revealed the superior selectivity at the range from pH 5 to pH 7. Appropriate selection of carboxylic acid should be required to improve the performance of cleaning solution. In the case of CA, the etching selectivity of copper oxide complex to copper was increased with the concentration of CA in the solution, when the solutions contain over 5 wt% CA, the copper interconnection layer has a metallic copper surface more than 88% in the area. The result shows that CA contained semi-aqueous solution has a relatively good cleaning ability.

  • 오염된 지하수 정화에 있어 반응벽체(Permeable Reactive Barriers, PRBs)를 이용한 정화기법은 최근 가장 큰 관심을 모으고 있는 기술이다. 반응벽체의 적용에 있어 가장 중요한 사항은 오염물질의 특성을 고려하여 적절한 반응성을 가지는 충진물질을 선택하는 일이다. 지금까지 연구된 반응물질 중 제올라이트는 취득이 용이하고 가격이 저렴하여, 암모늄이나 중금속과 같은 양이온성 오염물질의 정화에 그 적용성을 인정받아왔다. 하지만 표면에 음전하를 띠는 제올라이트의 특성 때문에, 지하수내에서 음이온의 형태로 존재하는 Cr(VI) 등에는 반응성이 없는 것으로 알려져 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 제올라이트에 영가철을 결합한 ZanF란 물질을 개발하여 양이온성 중금속의 하나인 납과 음이온성 중금속의 하나인 Cr(VI)을 동시 제거하는 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 ZanF는 초기농도 2-15mmol를 가지는 납 오염용액에 대해 90% 이상의 제거율을 보였으며, 초기농도 0.1 mmol을 가지는 Cr(VI) 오염용액의 농도를 5시간 내에 검출한계 이하로 떨어뜨리는 탁월한 효과를 보였다. 실험결과를 토대로 ZanF는 납과 Cr(VI)으로 동시에 오염된 지하수 정화에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있으리라 기대된다.

  • Deramping technique has been widely used to acquire high resolution SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) images for the advantage of the data size and the processing time. However, unwanted spurious signals caused by SAR hardware can be leaked in the process of converting into a digital signal through the ADC(Analog-Digital Converter) and added in a echo signal. These tones make image quality degrade significantly. In order to solve this problem, the unwanted tones need to be detected by analysing the characteristic of the noise tone and then effectively removed from raw data. In this paper, we propose a method for efficiently removing noise tone on the raw data based on the characteristic of spurious signals.

  • Cellular Automata is a discrete dynamical system which natural phenomena may be specified completely in terms of local relation, can increase and decrease the difference of luminance locally according to transition rule by keeping the characteristic of target image. In this paper, we propose a noise reduction method by keeping the characteristic using transition rule of Cellular Automata, also we propose methods of effective transition rule, the selection of parameters, the selection of number of neighborhood pixels. For uniform distribution noise, Gaussian noise, impulse noise, we do an experiment on adaptive state using different mathematical operations and compare its results. It was confirmed that the proposed transition rule is based on fast convergence speed and has stabile results.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 경로 오차 제거를 위해, 4개의 상관값을 제공하는 가중 협대역 상관기(Weighted Narrow Correlator) 구조에 대해 제안한다. 가중 협대역 상관기는 서로 다른 칩 간격을 가지는 여러 상관값 출력에 가중치를 주어 다중경로 신호에 의한 코드 위상 측정 오차를 줄이는 방법이다. 우선 다양한 지연시간 및 신호 감쇄를 가지는 다중 경로 신호에 대하여, 가중치에 대한 수신기의 성능 변화를 분석하고 이를 통해 최적의 가중치를 선택하였다. 제안한 상관기는 일반 수신기와 동일한 신호 획득능력을 가지며, 협대역 상관기보다 개선된 다중경로 오차 제거 능력을 보인다. 가중 협대역 상관기의 성능은 시뮬레이션을 통한 의사거리 측정치의 비교를 통해 검증하였다.

유류오염토양 정화를 위한 Phytoremediation 이용에 관한 연구

  • 현재 세계적인 토양환경복원의 추세는 단기간의 높은 처리효율을 기대하는 장치위주의 복원기술적용에서 좀 더 처리시간은 걸리나 저비용의 효율적인 처리기술선택으로 옮겨가고 있다. 이는 지금까지 무리한 투자에서 발생한 부작용을 최소화하기 위해서 취해지고 있는 변화로 식물을 이용한 환경복원기술(phytoremediation)은 이러한 변화에 가장 잘 부응하는 발전 가능성이 매우 높은 미래 복원기술 가운데 하나이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 phytoremediation을 이용하여 디젤로 오염된 토양을 복원하고자 하였다. 먼저 대상오염물에 대한 정화능을 나타내는 식물을 선별하기 위해 알팔파, 옥수수, 피, 물피의 오염농도별 생장 률을 살핀 결과 알팔파가 오염농도에 따른 성장저해를 가장 덜 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 알팔파의 발아 test를 거친 후 실제상황을 모사하기 위한 column test를 실시하여 디젤의 제거효율을 살펴보았다. 1)외부로부터 pipe line을 따라 공기를 주입하여 산소를 보충한 처리구와 2)알팔파를 심은 처리구, 3)알팔파와 공기를 넣어준 처리구를 설계하여 디젤의 제거과정을 알아본 결과 제거효과가 가장 높은 처리구는 공기와 알팔파를 함께 넣어준 처리구였다. 이를 통해 유류로 오염된 토양에서 산소가 미생물활동에 커다란 제한요인이라는 것과 공정에 공기주입구를 장착함으로써 식물만으로 처리할 때 대두되는 시간적 제약의 문제를 다소 경감시킬 수 있음이 밝혀져 앞으로 이의 활용가능성이 주목된다.

Selective Removal of Odorants in Natural Gas by Adsorption on Metal-containing Beta Zeolite Adsorbents (금속함유 베타 제올라이트 흡착제 상에서 LNG가스 내에 부취된 황화합물의 선택적 흡착제거)

  • In this study, H-type beta zeolites (BEA) having various metals were used as the adsorbent for the removal of sulfur containing odorants. The different adsorbents containing single or bimetals were utilized to investigate the performance in the individual adsorption of TBM and THT odorants or in the competitive adsorption between them by using a continuous adsorptive bed system. The result shows that the pure H-type BEA zeolite exhibited the highest adsorption capacity for TBM compound, but the higher amount of THT was removed and adsorbed on a HBEA adsorbent having Fe, Pd metal and ZnO oxide. In the case of bimetal containing adsorbents, Cu-Zn/HBEA and Fe-Mo/HBEA showed a higher adsorption capacity for TBM.

  • Noisy data are often fitted using a smoothing parameter, controlling the importance of two objectives that are opposite to a certain extent. One of these two is smoothness and the other is closeness to the input data. The optimal value of this parameter minimizes the error of the result. This optimum cannot be found exactly, simply because the exact data are unknown. This paper propose the threshold value for noise reduction based on wavelet-thresholding. In the proposed method PSNR results show that the threshold value performs excellently in comparison with conventional methods without knowing the noise variance and volume of signal.
