  • The purpose of this research is to understand the view on people(百姓) and Lee Won-ik(李元翼)'s view on politics, comparing with Seonjo(宣祖)'s view on them. They as political actors sufficiently cognized the condition of life of people had been very desperate. Seonjo had approached from politics to the life of people, while Lee from the life of people to politics. The former has the precariousness of transformation and instrumentalisation of the life of people. The latter has the possibility of the life of people to lead the politics. Lee's stance was on the latter aspect. He had tried to conceive the people as they are, in other words as reality, not as they should be, in other words as idea. He refrained the elucidation of people from confining it within dichotomy structure of ruling-ruled. He had tried to conceive the organic relationship between people and other existences within community. He did not give knowledge-centered question of what is the life of people, but gave situation-phenomenon-centered question of how people has been living. This approach eulciates Lee's focus on the problems of Gongyi(工役), military service(軍役), Labour service(?役), the reduction and exemption of the tax, and the appointment of provincial officer(守令). As for Lee Won-ik, the best form of life of people is to make people have mind to deserve to live, to economize their power(寬民力), to make them savor their life(樂民生), and to make their life easy(安民).

A Study on Heat Trasfer Characteristics of Smooth and Ribbed Tubes for Boiler (보일러용 裸管 및 리브붙이管 의 熱傳達 特性 에 관한 硏究)

  • Heat transfer characteristics in terms of the tube wall-temperature and the enthalpy have been investigated utilizing ribbed (rifled) tubes in order to enhance heat transfer performance. Considerations were given for the cases of smooth tubes in order to compare with the case of ribbed tubes. The tilt angle of the experimental tubes are from 0.deg. to 90.deg. , in order to simulate the boiler water tubes having 15.deg.-90.deg. inclined angle in boiler nose and studded tubes (burner zones), Natural convection and forced convection (Re=1810) conditions were considered in the experiments. The experimental results for the effect for the tube inclination through a natural convection and forced convection are presented and it is shown that ribbed tubes permit an appreciable increase in heat transfer coefficients and consequently it means substantial reductions in boiler water wall tubes and heat exchanger surface areas.

  • Changes in the protein contents of various organs of the germinating soy bean as well as the effect of X-irradiation on the RNA content of cotyledon of it were investigated. 1) The protein content of germinating organs other than cotyledon increase while that of cotyledon decreases as germination proceeds, which is indicative of the fact that the former organs are anabolic and the latter catabolic in nature with regard to their protein metabolism during germination. 2) The cotyledon RNA content of soybean decreases until the 6 th day after germination initiated, and increases thereafter . When the seeds are exposed to $300{\gamma}$ X-irradiation, these tendencies seem to be accelerated, but when exposed to $600{\gamma}$ and $900{\gamma}$ X-irradiation the decrement of RNA in the early stage is prominent and the synthetic recovery in the later period is inhibited markedly due to radiation damage rather than radiation activation.

Effectiveness of a Solid Sialogogue to Stimulate Salivation in MR Sialography (자기공명 타액선조영검사 시 고체 타액분비 촉진제의 유용성)

  • This study is aimed to prove that a solid sialogogue can improve the defects of the liquid one and substitute it with no differences in the signal intensity. From January to August 2016, 60 patients with no salivary gland diseases were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups as follows; a group with a liquid sialogogue and the other group with a solid sialogogue. MR images were acquired and signal intensities of the parotid glands were compared. As a result, the signal intensities of liquid and solid sialogogues showed no statistically significant differences($59.42{\pm}15.74$ and $61.80{\pm}13.99$, respectively) In conclusion, a solid sialogogue was verified to have no signal intensity differences from the liquid one while it could improve the defects of the liquid sialogogue.

The Effects of Repeated Restraint Stress on the Rat Parotid Glands, Ultramicroscopical and Histochemical Study (구속 스트레스에 대한 백서 타액선 조직의 미세구조적, 조직화학적 변화)

  • It has been known that saliva may affect the most of oral diseases. On the contrary, several systemic conditions may affect salivary flow and cause oral dryness and psychosocial stress especially may a crucial role in the etiology of hyposalivation and oral dryness. Many studies have focused on macroscopic effects of the stress on the salivary glands by autonomic response, but on the other hand it has hardly been reported on cellular microscopic effects of the stress on the salivary glands. Therefore, this study was performed to examine clusterin, a antiapoptotic and cytoprotective protein, in the parotid glands under restraint stress condition. For this study, 18 rats were divided into 3 groups; 1) 2 rats of group I were selected as a normal control. 2) 2 rats of group II, as a experimental control were placed in the restraint cone for 2 hours 3) 14 rats of group III were placed in the restraint cone for 2 hours once a day. The rats were sacrificed immediately(group II, as a experimental control), 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 days after application of the stress and the both parotid glands were excised. Immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy were performed. The finding were as follows: 1. In parotid glands, repeated stress denaturalize the acinar cells, interacinous tissues and interacinous connective tissues were separated to individual acinar cells. After 4 days of experiment, there were lots of vacuoles and intercalated ducts. 2. In parotid glands, repeated stress make the rER which is in acinar cells swollen after 3 days of experiment and it was intensified to 4 days. After 5 days of experiment the edema got worse and degenerated. 3. In parotid glands, clusterin was reduced in ductal cell cytoplasm but in intercalated duct clusterin was slightly stained until 3 days prominently increased until 4 days and then decreased again after 5 days of experiment.

  • 96년 미국과 멕시코로 루이스 칸과 바라간 등의 건축 답사를 다녀온 후로, 우리 전통 문화유산을 두루 보러 다녔다. 그동안 가까이 있는 것은 언제건 보겠거니 하고 미뤄 온 터라, 우리 것을 너무 도외시해 온 것 같은 자책감이 생겼기 때문이다. 그리고 건축관에 변화가 있는건 아니지만, 답사하면서 이따금 좋은 느낌을 만나 반가웠다. 솔직히 말해서 다 그런 것은 아니고 손꼽아 말할 수 있었다. 그러면서 필자는 건축적 가치의 획득이 고전과 현대 또는 양식의 차이에 의해서가 아니고, 자체의 성공 여부에 있다는 것을 확신하게 되었다. 건축의 본질은 변함없으며, 건축에 반영된 시대 상황이 다를 따름이라 생각한다. 우리는 훌륭한 문화유산을 많이 갖고 있다. 하지만 국가나 개인의 살림이 넉넉해서 그렇게 되어졌다고 생각지는 않는다. 종묘가 만들어진 것은 정신적 힘에 의해 이룩됐을 것이다. 그렇게 해서 지금 우리에게 위대한 모습으로 남겨 있는 것이 감사하다. 전통건축은 현대 사유 체계로는 추구될 수 없는 이상적인 모습을 띠고 있다. 그리고 오늘날 건축의 자본주의 행태와 대조되는 교훈도 느낀다. 도대체 우리 선조들에게는 구도하듯 짓는 어떤 전통이 있었기에 그렇게 훌륭한 건축이 남겨질 수 있었을까? 그 흔적을 나름대로 찾아보고자 한다.

The Study of Keumcheonchang in ChungJu (충주 금천창 연구)

  • This paper is written to results of excavated ChungJu ChangDong site located in ChungJu and the article Keumcheonchang in Joseonwangjosilrok. The structure rerics of compositing cornerstone-distance 420cm has been showing to Keumcheonchang of legend in region people. The solution to problems is that the enforcement of the river-shipping service linking Han River and NakDong River. King Taejong commanded the new tax-warehouse of 200 Kan to built at Keumcheon in ChungJu and named Keumcheonchang for the receipt of innner region and KyengSang Province. King Sejo established the foundation of the government owned tax-grain transportation systerm for the strong centralization by the sovereign right. This logistic system is gone the middle and the latter of Joseon Dynasty. Joseon Dynasty is absolutely dependent the national finance for government operation on the tax-grain from HaSamDo(ChungCheong JeonLa KyengSang) region. JoUn(tax-grain transportation by shipping) is the best logistic system in Korea surrounding sea. Joseon Dynasty has refomed the logistics base on GoRyeo's system that the Tax-grain transportation system by shipping. There is the tax-warehouses reducing from 13 numbers to 9 numbers and making up for the weak points in the matter of the Japanese Pirate and the ship wreck in transporting in the sea. The ship wreck in the sea specially make the matters of the reducing tax and political issues. We know that Keumcheonchang is operated ChuaSuCham(the government agency for taxgrain transportation by shipping at a warehouse) from King Taejong 11(1,411)year to King Sejo 11 (1,465)year. There is the result of enforcement the river-shipping service system for social stabilization and forward their new ideal in the first half Joseon Dynasty.

  • 지난 백여 년 동안 인간은 과거의 그 어떤 선조들도 이루지 못한 지식과 기술의 발전을 통해 고도로 산업화된 사회를 이루었지만, 전 지구적으로 기후변화라는 부차적인 결과와 현실에 직면하고 있다. 이상기후 현상은 전지구 규모뿐만 아니라 일정한 소규모 지역에서도 관측되고 있으며, 국내에서는 특히 특정 지역에 국한되어 단시간에 발생하는 집중호우가 대표적인 사례이다. 현재까지 집중호우 발생 지역과 정도를 예측하기란 불가능한 상태이며, 산업화와 도시화가 진행될수록 그 피해는 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 집중호우에 대비한 도시 배수 시스템을 재점검할 필요가 있으며, 기존의 배수시설을 대체할 만큼 효율적인 배수구조물의 개발이 시급하다. 기존 도시지역의 측구형 수로관에는 마감불량, 정밀시공의 어려움, 이물질의 누적과 물고임, 노출로 인한 파손, 포장층 침투수 배수문제 등 많은 문제점들이 존재한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 측구형 수로관의 단점을 보완하는 더욱 효율적인 집수정을 개발하고자 하였다. 집수정을 덮고 있는 포장층 상부면을 따라 흐르는 표면수를 처리할 뿐만 아니라, 포장층 내부로 스며드는 침투수를 처리 가능하도록 구조체 상부에 침투수 유입공을 설치하여, 표면수와 침투수를 동시에 고려하는 이중배수 시스템을 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 개발하는 집수정 구조체는 침투수에 의한 도로 및 구조체의 내구성 감소 및 겨울철 동파 현상을 방지할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 단순공정, 시공성 향상, 유지비용절감 등 기존 배수 시스템과 비교해 많은 장점을 내포하고 있다. 본 연구에서 개발하는 이중배수 집수정의 효율 및 배수능력 평가를 위해서는 기존의 구조체와 차별되는 침투수 유입공에 대한 평가가 선행되어야 한다. 이를 위해서 침투수 유입공에 대한 실내 실험 장치를 구축하였으며, 반복 실험을 통해 침투수 유입공을 통한 배출 능력을 평가하고자 하였다. 또한 실험 결과를 바탕으로 구조체의 효능을 결정짓는 기준을 제시하고자 한다.

Brain Regions Associated With Anhedonia in Healthy Adults : a PET Correlation Study (정상 성인에서 양전자방출단층촬영을 통해 관찰한 무쾌감증 관련 뇌 영역)

  • Purpose: Anhedonia has been proposed to be the result of a basic neurophysiologic dysfunction and a vulnerability marker that precede and contribute to the liability of developing schizophrenia. We hypothesized that anhedonia, as a construct reflecting the decreased capacity to experience pleasure, should be associated with decreased positive hedonic affect trait. This study examined the relationship between anhedonia and positive hedonic affect trait and searched for the brain legions which correlate with anhedonia in normal subjects. Materials and Methods: Using $^{18}F$-FDG PET scan, we investigated the brain activity of twenty one subjects during resting state. Questionnaires were administrated after the scan in order to assess the self-rated individual differences in physical/social anhedonia and positive/negative affect traits. Results: Negative correlation between physical anhedonia score and positive affect trait score was significant (Pearson coefficient =-0.440, p<0.05). The subjects physical and social anhedonia scores showed positive correlation with metabolic rates in the cerebellum and negative correlation with metabolic rates in the inferior temporal gyrus and middie frontal gyrus. In addition, the positive affect trait score positively correlated with various areas, most prominent with the inferior temporal gyrus. Conclusion: These results suggest that neural substrates, such as the inferior temporal gyrus and prefrontal-cerebellar circuit, which dysfunction has been proposed to be involved with the cognitive deficits of schizophrenia, may also play a significant role in the liability of affective deficits like anhedonia.

Repair and Restoration of Joseon Historical Document Box (조선왕조 실록함의 수리복원)

  • The National Museum of Korea own a historical document box K976 that was once used to store Joseon Wangjo Sillok Annals of the Joseon Dynasty of the Joseon Dynasty. The rectangular box has a lid, and the entire surface is varnished with black lacquer. The wood of the box had become warped and the upper part of the wooden frame had been damaged. In some areas, the paint was flaking off, exposing the underlying wood, and an iron ring that connected the lid to the body of the box was missing. Thus, in 2013, Conservation Science Department in National Museum of Korea began to repair and restore the Joseon document box. Before the treatment, analyses were conducted to examine the box's structure, damaged parts, species of wood, and lacquering techniques. The wood was found to be that of a linden tree. As for the lacquering technique, the surface of the box was first coated with a layer of lacquer and bone ash, and then covered with Korean traditional paper. Next, the box was painted with a layer of mud and ashes, followed by a layer of black pigment mixed with soot, and then varnished again with lacquer.
