  • This study aims to identify the most effective statistical feature selecting method and context window size for word sense disambiguation using supervised methods. In this study, features were selected by four different methods: information gain, document frequency, chi-square, and relevancy. The result of weight comparison showed that identifying the most appropriate features could improve word sense disambiguation performance. Information gain was the highest. SVM classifier was not affected by feature selection and showed better performance in a larger feature set and context size. Naive Bayes classifier was the best performance on 10 percent of feature set size. kNN classifier on under 10 percent of feature set size. When feature selection methods are applied to word sense disambiguation, combinations of a small set of features and larger context window size, or a large set of features and small context windows size can make best performance improvements.

  • The selection of ground stations is one of the essential process of IGS (International GNSS Service) products. High quality GPS data should be collected from the globally distributed ground stations. In this study, we investigated an effect of ground station network selection on GPS satellite ephemeris. The GPS satellite ephemeris obtained from the twelve ground station networks were analyzed to investigate the effect of selection of ground stations. For data quality check, the observations, the number of cycle slips, and multipath of pseudoranges for L1 and L2 were considered. The ideal network defined by Taylor-Karman structure and SOD (Second Order Design) were used to obtain the optimal ground station network.

  • Based on SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) evaluation model, SPIRE (Software Process Improvement in Regions of Europe) is developed and published as a process improvement model for small and medium size organizations. However, practical selection guidelines or mapping rules between business goals and software processes do not exist within SPIRE. This research aims to construct an objective reference mapping table between business goals and software processes, and to propose a process selection method using the mapping table. The mapping table is constructed by the convergence of domestic software process experts' opinions using Delphi techniques. In the suggested process selection method, target processes are selected using the intuition of project participants or project managers as well as the reference mapping table. The feasibility of the proposed selection method has been reviewed by applying to two small software companies. Using the reference mapping table, we could select key processes which were passed over by project managers.

  • Selecting a suitable place is to determine the attributive conditions and qualified areas for the aim as factors and is to be fulfilled systematically for selecting the area which satisfies all these. This research tries to achieve a rational suitability analysis of residential development using the GIS modeling method and the hierarchical analysis process. A spatial and attributive analysis has been systematized for selecting a suitable place for the study and GIS analysis model has been used for the effective conclusion drawing for different levels. As a next step, a quantitative and qualitative evaluation index was created through complex consideration of the criteria and decision factors of the location selection, and weights were added depending on the relative importance of these factors. In particular, 3D terrain model simulation method has been used in order to reflect the aesthetic factors of the scenery which is an element of the subjective evaluation factors and considered qualitative and subjective evaluation factors which were not considered for the existing AHP technique. After the research, a location that satisfies complex requirements was found rapidly and accurately through the GIS model and hierarchical analysis.

  • Earth to Mars ballistic mission opportunities from Naro Space Center are studied. Determining ballistic mission opportunities can be divided into two major parts, i.e. the launch window and the daily launch window determination. At the launch window determination parts, Porkchop diagrams of Earth launch C3 magnitude, total mission duration, declination of $V_{\infty}$ vector at the Earth launch, and declination & right ascension of $V_{\infty}$ vector at the Mars arrival are examined. The location of launch site and rotation effects of the Earth are considered during the daily launch window determination parts. Using Lambert method, various Porkchop diagrams of launching in 2027 are examined for example. The daily launch window of Naro Space Center at that year was checked to verify the launch possibility by comparing with the Kennedy Space Center.

  • Effective and efficient selection of IT projects is crucial for company's competitiveness. The selection of IT projects usually involves consideration of budget constraints but existing IT project selection models often neglect budget constraints. This paper presents an IT project selection model which considers budget constraints. AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Knapsack problem model have been combined to develop the proposed model, AHP-K model, where AHP is used to estimate weights of selection criteria and, then, a knapsack problem model is utilized to optimize selection of IT project while meeting the budget constraints. In this paper, a case study is provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed AHP-K model. It has been shown that the proposed AHP-K model is better than the AHP model in terms of total utility of projects and investment efficiency.

  • Since sensor data are inserted into a data set continuously, continuous queries should be evaluated for searching data. To processing the continuous queries, it is required to build a query index on each sensor node and to transmit result data appropriate for query predicates. However, if query predicates are transferred to all sensor nodes, massive messages are required. In this paper, we propose the node decision scheme using the sensor node decision tree in order to diminish messages. The entry of a leaf node in the node decision tree represents a sensor node and defines the data region of the sensor node. When a user query is issued, sensor nodes are decided by intersecting between data regions of the tree with the query predicates of the user query, and then the query predicates are transmitted to the selected sensor nodes. We also implement the proposed sensor node decision tree and evaluate the experiments for the tree.

  • This paper use virtual running after possible traffic capacity application for optimal route location. General road is designed the design after we examine an alternate adequacy investigation and an execution design sufficiently. Various road user's requirement must be reflected from the beginning. But it is difficult to contain the various suitable design criteria because we consider the existing 2-dimension element. First of all, this study chose optimal route, used traffic assignment and 3D simulation. Then selected optimal route through the consistent road construction by analyzing road driving simulation of 3-dimension data and the urban landscape. possible traffic capacity and virtual running will be able to do the urban landscape analysis harmonizing with the environment; equally, it could be objectively solve the problem of a civil appeal.

  • We develop a feature selection method that can improve both the efficiency and the effectiveness of classification technique. In this research, we employ case-based reasoning as a classification technique. Basically, this research integrates the two existing feature selection methods, i.e., the univariate analysis and the LVF algorithm. First, we sift some predictive features from the whole set of features using the univariate analysis. Then, we generate all possible subsets of features from these predictive features and measure the inconsistency rate of each subset using the LVF algorithm. Finally, the subset having the lowest inconsistency rate is selected as the best subset of features. We measure the performances of our feature selection method using the data obtained from UCI Machine Learning Repository, and compare them with those of existing methods. The number of selected features and the accuracy of our feature selection method are so satisfactory that the improvements both in efficiency and effectiveness are achieved.
