Evaluation of press formability of pure titanium sheet (순 티탄늄 판재의 프레스 성형성 평가(제 1보))

  • Commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) has been actively used in plate heat exchangers due to its light weight, high specific strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. However, compared with automotive steels and aluminum alloys, there has not been much research on the plastic deformation characteristics and press formability of CP Ti sheet. In this study, the mechanical properties of CP Ti sheet are clarified in relation to press formability, including anisotropic properties and the stress-strain relation. The flow curve of the true stress-true strain relation is fitted well by the Kim-Tuan hardening equation rather than the Voce and Swift models. The forming limit curve (FLC) of CP Ti sheet was experimentally evaluated as a criterion for press formability by punch stretching tests. Analytical predictions were also made via Hora's modified maximum force criterion. The predicted FLC with the Kim-Tuan hardening model and an appropriate yield function shows good correlation with the experimental results of the punch stretching test.

Investigation of Stress Changes in Concrete and Strands according to Cutting Order of the Strands in Pre-tensioned Concrete Slab (프리텐션 슬래브 구조에서 긴장강선 용접절단순서에 따른 긴장재 및 콘크리트의 응력변화 고찰)

  • This study focuses on the effect of the cutting order of prestressing strands on the strain change in the strands and on the state of stress of concrete, experimentally and numerically. In the experiment, strain of strands and of transversal reinforcement were measured for three different cutting orders during detensioning process by using flame-cutting procedure. The experimental results were compared with those obtained from the FE analysis. As a results of the experiment, it is confirmed that the cutting order of prestressing strands affected on the strain of strands as well as of transversal reinforcement. The FE analysis gave similar results to those obtained from the experiment. Therefore, the cutting order should be chosen appropriately to when the strands get detensioned.

Design and Development of Strain Measurement System Based on Zigbee Wireless Network (Zigbee 무선통신 네트워크 기반 변형측정 시스템 설계 및 개발)

  • In this paper, a system using vibrating wire sensor and zigbee wireless network has been implemented to monitor and manage the structure. The implemented strain controller drives vibrating wire sensor and computes strain from measuring frequency of the output signal. Temperature sensor is included to compensate strain by temperature. Using two axis acceleration sensor of strain controller can measure the direction of strain or deformation. To measure strain more effectively, wired and wireless communication function is included in this device. As results of experiments, it is shown that the developed system can be effectively applied to measure strain of the structure.

Bandwidth Enhancement of Double-Dipole Quasi-Yagi Antenna Using Modified Microstrip-to-Coplanar Strip line Balun (변형된 마이크로스트립-동일면 스트립 선로 밸런을 이용한 이중 다이폴 준-야기 안테나의 대역폭 향상)

  • In this paper, a method of enhancing the bandwidth of a double-dipole quasi-Yagi antenna (DDQYA) using a modified integrated balun is presented. The modified integrated balun consists of a microstrip (MS) line inserted along the center of a coplanar strip (CPS) line and the end of the MS line is connected to the CPS line through a shorting pin at the feed point. The geometry of the modified integrated balun is adjusted to improve the bandwidth of the DDQYA. In addition, the performance of the proposed balun in a back-to-back configuration is compared with a conventional balun. The proposed antenna with the optimized modified integrated balun is fabricated on an FR4 substrate, and the experiment results show that the antenna has a frequency band of 1.56-3.04 GHz(64.4%) for a VSWR < 2, which shows enhanced bandwidth compared to the DDQYA with the conventional balun.

  • This paper described the ultimate strength and deformation limit of welded T-joints in cold-formed square hollow sections. Previous studies showed that the strength of a T-joint still increases with increasing deformations at a ratio of branch width to chord width (${\beta}$) of below 0.8. Therefore, the strength at a certain deformation (chord flange indentation) limit can be regarded as the ultimate strength of a T-joint. The chord flange failure modes were investigated for the ratio of branch width to chord width (${\beta}$) and the ratio of chord width to chord web thickness (B/T). Experimental results including tests done by Kato proposed a deformation limit of 3%B for $16.7{\leq}B/T{\leq}41.6$ and $0.27{\leq}{\beta}{\leq}0.8$. The strength formula of CIDECT and other researchers were compared with the test results. Finally, the strength formula based on yield-line theory was proposed.

Applications of Nanomanipulator in Nanowires (나노메니퓰레이터를 이용한 나노선의 특성평가)

  • The combination of focused ion beam (FIB) and 4 point probe nanomanipulator could make various nano manufacturing and electrical measurements possible. In this study, we manufactured individual ZnO nanowire devices and measured those electrical properties. In addition, tensile experiments of metallic Au and Pd nanowires was performed by the same directional alignment of two nanomanipulators and a nanowire. It was confirmed from I-V curves that Ohmic contact is formed between electrodes and nanomanipulators, which is able to directly measure the electrical properties of a nanowire itself. In the mechanical tensile test, Au and Pd nanowires showed a totally different fracture behavior except the realignment from <110> to <002>. The deformation until the fracture was governed by twin for Au and by slip for Pd nanowires, respectively. The crystallographic relationship and fracture mechanism was discussed by TEM observations.

  • 활성 윤곽선 모델(Active Contour Model : Snake)을 이용한 윤곽선 추출 방법에서는 물체를 검출하기 위해 잠재적 표면(potential surface) 위에서 지역 최소치를 향하여 다양한 힘을 가함으로써 물체의 윤곽선으로 활성 윤곽선 모델을 움직이게 한다. 활성 윤곽선 모델에서 영상의 관심있는 물체를 검출하기 위해서는 영상의 잠재적 표면 위에서 활성 윤곽선 모델이 지역 최소치를 향하여 활동적으로 움직이도록 다양한 힘을 효과적으로 제어해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 활성 윤곽선 모델이 적합한 지역 최소치를 향하여 적절하게 수렴하도록 활성 윤곽선 모델이 움직이는 잠재적 표면을 변형할 수 있는 영상 필터를 제안한다.
