Detection Probability Evaluation of ORCOMM LEO Satellite AIS for Maritime-Terrestrial Integrated Wireless Communications (해상육상통합 무선통신환경에서 오브컴 저궤도위성 AIS시스템 성능평가)

  • In this paper, the feasibility of ORBCOMM satellite-based automatic identification system (SAT-AIS) is evaluated in the context of ship AIS slot collision probability depending on reporting rate, We evaluate detection probability evaluation of ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS considering link budget, SOTDMA protocol and satellite's swath width. The simulation determines the total number of vessels served by ORBCOMM satellite according to satellite's swath width, AIS slot allocation and reporting rate. By simulation results, the ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS slot collision is increased directly proportional to the total number of vessels and the more detection probability evaluation of ORBCOMM satellite-based AIS degrader, the more sip AIS reporting rate shorter.

A Network Coding for Multi-Hop Ship-to-Ship Communications (다중-홉 선박간 통신을 위한 네트워크 부호화 기법)

  • We propose a two-way multi-hop relaying scheme improving the throughput as well as enlarging the coverage for ship-to-ship communications in multi-ship marine networks. The proposed scheme reduces the time slots required for the data exchange by designing data transmission and network coding procedures in a sophisticated way based on two-phase digital network coding. Simulation results show that the proposed two-way multi-hop relaying scheme improves the throughput of the conventional one about 5/3 times.

  • Ad Hoc Self-Organizing TDMA (ASO-TDMA) has been proposed as a specification to support the multi-hop data communication service for ships over VHF band. It allows for organizing a multi-hop ad-hoc network in a distributed manner by sharing the radio resources among the ships navigating along the route. In this paper, Markov chain analysis is given to provide the average throughput performance for ASO-TDMA protocol Furthermore, the analytical results are verified with computer simulation, which shows that there exists the optimal transmission rate to maximize the average throughput as the subframe size and the number of ships are varying in each hop region.

  • This paper is what accident in sea have been produced as lost themselves life and property about 600~700times at every years. It was analyzed that the collision accident is highest rank by 37% among the marine accidents and the fishing vessel is highest by 58% in these collision accidents and also the small fishing boat under 20tons is highest by 27% on them. Over the half of thecollision accidents by 56% they couldn't find each other to just before the collision situation. Therefore this was induced to experiment on a national basis that the role of communication of ship is to move from lose themselves life and property.

  • 선박 원격제어를 위해서는 원격 제어자가 선박의 운항상태를 파악하고 필요한 제어 명령을 원격으로 내릴 수 있어야 한다. 연구 목적은 선박 원격제어를 위해 교환되는 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하는 시스템을 개발하기 위함이다. 연구 방법은, 선박 운항상태 파악과 제어 명령 전달에 필요한 시스템을 분야별로 구성하고 해당 시스템을 활용하여 선박을 운항하면서 단위시스템별 활용성을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 선박 운항 시뮬레이터와 네트워크로 연결하여 실제 선박을 대체하여 활용하였다. 연구결과, 육상제어시스템-선박 간 네트워크를 통하여 교환되는 데이터의 통신방식은 상황에 따라 달라져야 한다는 결과를 도출하였다.

  • 현대 해양선박은 PLC 등 기존의 OT 시스템과 선박자동식별시스템 등 IT 시스템의 접목으로 스마트선박, 자율운항선박으로 진화되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 기술 통합은 공격이 가능한 접점이 늘어나며, 이는 사이버보안 위협을 증가시키고 있다. 선박은 대부분 항만으로부터 고립된 환경에서 운영되기 때문에 사이버공격이 발생 시 외부의 기술 지원이나 긴급대응이 어려워진다. 이러한 배경으로 해양선박을 대상으로 하는 사이버 복원력은 해양선박 환경에서 중요한 개념으로 자리잡고 있다. 본 논문은 해양선박 환경 표준 통신 네트워크인 SAN을 분석하고, 사이버 복원력을 소개한 후, NIST의 사이버 복원력 모델을 기반으로 해양선박 대상 사이버 복원력 연구를 분석한다.

  • In order to prevent collision accidents of ships, which has been increasing recently, research on artificial intelligence-based autonomously operated ships (Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship, MASS) is underway. However, most of the studies related to autonomous ships mainly target medium-to-large ships due to the size and cost of the autonomous navigation system, and the sensors used here have a problem in that it is difficult to mount them on small ships. Therefore, this paper provides a path tracking system equipped with GPS and IMU sensors for autonomous operation of small ships. GPS and IMU sensors are utilized to determine the exact position of the vessel, which allows the proposed system to manually control the small vessel model to create a path and then when the small vessel travels the same path. Use the Pure Pursuit algorithm to follow the path. As a result, In this research, it is expected that a lightweight and low-cost sensor can be used to develop an autonomous operation system for small ships at low cost.

  • The HF band SSB communication of coast radio station had operated with principal axis of maritime communication until early in the 1990. But, that is changed with development of data communication and satellite technique, which have operated a few by rapidly decrement of user with accomplishment of the CMDSS. Recently, the radio system of HF band is expanded to globe maritime communication, which is support to maritime safety information and data traffic service by low charge with the SSB high speed modem. This study have proposed the digitalize method for maritime communication system using HF band in domestic.

  • This paper presents a stable real-time based FlexRay technology which is employed with a standard protocol of the marine electronic equipments and the bridge navigational watch alarm system (BNWAS). The traditional marine communications use NMEA communication protocols, and RS-232 and RS-422 techniques in the BNWAS, thus there are difficulty in seeking stability and reliability. To overcome such problems we utilize the FlexRay protocol technique to prevent data loss or error.
