연도별 신조선 주요제원의 변화를 통한 대형화 추세 분석

  • 대형 컨테이너 선박의 주요 제원 예측에 관한 과거 연구는 단순 회귀분석에 기반한 결과로 제시되었으며, 이를 현재 운항 중인 24,000TEU급 선박의 제원과 과거의 연구 결과를 비교할 경우, 선박의 전장이 과대 예측한 경향이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 선형회귀분석 및 box plot의 통계 분석기법을 활용하여 최근 20년의 신조 컨테이너선을 대상으로 연도별 주요제원의 변화량을 통해 선박의 대형화 추세를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 컨테이너선의 대형화는 시간의 흐름에 따라 점점 폭이 넓어지는 형태로 변화하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 선폭 위주의 대형화는 선박 운항의 측면에서 조종성능의 감소로 인해 운항난이도가 증대된다는 단점이 있다. 즉, 미래 대형화 선박을 안전하게 운항하기 위해서는 적절한 항만 인프라 구축 및 선박길이와 폭의 조화를 이루는 대형화가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Development and Utilization of Speech Recognition Service for Ship Radio Communication (선박무선통신 음성인식 서비스 개발 및 활용)

  • 선박무선통신장비는 선박이 항해하는데 필요한 안전정보, 선박교통 모니터링 및 관제, 입·출항 정보를 교환하기 위한 필수 장비이므로 선박항해사는 무선통신 내용을 항상 주의 깊게 청취해야 함. 본 연구에서는 선박의 실제 음성 교신데이터 500시간 데이터를 수집 및 학습하고, Wav2Vec 및 Whisper 모델을 활용하여 한글 및 영어(해사영어) 음성인식 모델을 개발하고 실용화를 수행하였다. 음성인식 모델의 성능은 CER(Character Error Rate) 기준 94.5%로 향후 선박 운항 관련 댜양한 분야에 적용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

  • 선박에서는 화재안전목표를 달성하기 위해 선박을 방화구획화 함으로써 발화의 지점에서 화재를 차단하여 인근지역으로 확산 되지 않도록 하고 있다. 또한 방화구획을 관통하는 파이프, 덕트 및 전선관통부 등을 통하여 유독가스 및 화염이 순식간에 이동하게 되며, 한쪽 구역에서 발생한 화재의 영향이 다른 구역으로 영향을 미치게 되므로 화염에 의한 피해를 방지하고 불길을 차단하기 위하여 관통부재에 대하여 해당 방화구획과 동등한 성능을 요구하고 있다, 선박에 적용되고 있는 방화구획의 등급은 용도에 따라 일반 상선 등에는 "C ~ A"급, 해양플랜트에는 "C ~ H"급 등급이 요구되고 있다. 그러나 현재 국내 선박 기자재 제작 기술은 "A"급에 머물러 있고 최근 국내 조선소의 해양플랜트 수주 증가와 해양플랜트로의 사업전환으로 관련기자재기업에서 "H"급 기자재 개발에 많은 관심을 가지고 개발 시도를 하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 "H" 급 방화구획에 적용되고 있는 탄화수소계(Hydrocarbon Fire) 내화시험기준과 "H"급 Fire Damper의 단열두께에 따른 탄화수소계(Hydrocarbon Fire) 내화성능실험을 통한 방화 댐퍼의 비 노출면에 대한 방열성능 확보방안에 대하여 언급하고자 한다.

A Study on the Effects of High-lift Rudder on Ship's Maneuverability (고 양력 타가 선박의 조종성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, a vessel's maneuvering performance is considered to be an important subject as marine pollution from the ships that stranded on a rock becomes more severe. So, IMO(International maritime organization) has adopted Resolution MSC.l37 to enhance international standards of ship's maneuverability. There's more than one way to improve ship's maneuverability. This research focused on improving ship's maneuverability by high-lift rudder. To predict the maneuverability, the numerical simulation model was used. The evaluation of maneuverability was carried out by turning test and zig-zag test. The results obtained with these simulation showed that the high-lift rudder would be effective in improving the turning ability of the ship. But it was clarified that there Has a possibility that course changing ability night become bad through an increase of rudder lift.

Research on Basic Concept Design for Digital Twin Ship Platform (디지털트윈 선박 플랫폼 설계를 위한 연구)

  • The International Maritime Organization is establishing international agreements on maritime safety and security to prepare for the introduction of autonomous ships. In Korea, the industry is focusing on autonomous navigation system technology development, and to reduce accidents involving coastal ships, research on autonomous ship technology application plans for coastal ships is in progress. Interest in autonomously operated ships is increasing worldwide, and maritime demonstrations for verification of developed technologies are being pursued. In this study, a basic investigation was conducted on the design of a demonstration ship and an onshore platform (remote support center) using digital twin technology for application to coastal ships. To apply digital twin technology, an 8-m small battery-powered electric propulsion ship was selected as the target. The basic design of the twin-integrated platform was developed. The ship navigation and operation data were stored on a server system, and remote-control commands of the electric propulsion ship was achieved through communication between the ship and the onshore platform. Ship performance management, operation and operation optimization, and predictive control are possible using this digital twin technology. This safe and economical digital twin technology is applicable to ships responding to crisis scenarios.

A Study on the Evaluation of the Appropriateness of the Control of Departure of Tugs Based on the Analysis of Ship Dynamic Motion (선체운동 해석 기반의 예인선 출항통제 적정성 평가에 대한 연구)

  • Korea controls the departure of vessels based on the Maritime Safety Act such that only ships with seaworthiness can navigate in bad weather, but scientific evaluation results and quantitative basis for the designation of ships subject to control are insufficient. Opinions for improvement are being raised for a reasonable departure control operation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the adequacy of the current departure control standards through actual measurement of tugboats, which are the type of vessels subject to control when a wind and wave advisory is effective, and to present quantitative grounds for improvement of controls. A sensor was installed on the tugboat to measure the ship's three-axis motion and hull acceleration, and the hull motion performance was measured by operating in the sea area with a significant wave height of 3 m. The measured values were compared and analyzed based on seaworthiness evaluation factors and limit value standards. The actual ship was excluded from the current control standard according to tonnage, but as a result of the analysis, the pitch value exceeded the operation standard, and a risk to navigation safety existed. The results of this study suggest the need for additional actual measurement studies that can represent various ship types and specifications and review ship departure control targets.

A Machine Learning-Based Method to Predict Engine Power (머신러닝을 이용한 기관 출력 예측 방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study is about ship horsepower prediction of machine learning method using the big data of ship. Currently, new ships use the ISO15016 method to predict external environmental resistance through mathematical equations but due to complicated equations and requires many input variables so it is less applicable to be used in ship. In this recent research, we propose a model capable of predicting ship performance with high performance using SVM (Support Vector Machine) algorithm which shows excellent performance in recent prediction and recognition. The proposed predictive model has the advantage of being able to predict better performance than ISO15016 only if secured big data is used. In this study, we compared the ISO15016 technique and the SVM algorithm-based horsepower analysis method using the 178K bulk carrier's voyage data to reduce ship model data preparation, which is a disadvantage of ISO15016, and improve inaccurate horsepower prediction performance.

  • This paper discusses about the development of a visual sensor that can be installed in an automatic mooring device to detect the berthing condition of a vessel. Despite controlling the ship's speed and confirming its location to prevent accidents while berthing a vessel, ship collision occurs at the pier every year, causing great economic and environmental damage. Therefore, it is important to develop a visual system that can quickly obtain the information on the speed and location of the vessel to ensure safety of the berthing vessel. In this study, a visual sensor was developed to observe a ship through an image while berthing, and to properly check the ship's status according to the surrounding environment. To obtain the adequacy of the visual sensor to be developed, the sensor characteristics were analyzed in terms of information provided from the existing sensors, that is, detection range, real-timeness, accuracy, and precision. Based on these analysis data, we developed a 3D visual module that can acquire information on objects in real time by conducting conceptual designs of LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) type 3D visual system, driving mechanism, and position and force controller for motion tilting system. Finally, performance evaluation of the control system and scan speed test were executed, and the effectiveness of the developed system was confirmed through experiments.

Prediction of Resistance Performance for Low-Speed Full Ship using Deep Neural Network (심층신경망을 이용한 저속비대선의 저항성능 추정)

  • The resistance performance evaluation of general ships using computational fluid dynamics requires a lot of time and cost, and various methods are being studied to reduce the time and cost. Existing methods using main particulars or cross sections of ships have limitations in estimating resistance performance that is greatly dependent on the shape of the ship. In this paper, we propose a deep neural network model that can quickly predict the resistance performance of the hull surface by inputting the geometric information of the hullform mesh. The proposed deep neural network model based on Perceiver IO can immediately predict resistance performance, unlike computational fluid dynamics techniques that require calculation in each time step. It shows the result of estimating the resistance performance with an average error of less than 1% in the data set for a 50 K tanker ship, a type of low-speed full ship.

선박 운항 안정성 확보를 위한 해양 쓰레기 차단막 플랫폼 모듈 개발

  • 육상에서 발생한 부유쓰레기는 하천을 통해 해상으로 유입되어 선박 프로펠러 파손, 항로 점유 등 선박 운항 안정성에 지대한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 육상 기인 부유쓰레기의 해양 확산을 방지하고 나아가 선박 운항 안정성 확보를 위한 차단막과 차단막의 부유쓰레기 차단 성능 확보를 위한 플랫폼 및 계류, 앵커시스템 개발을 연구 목표로 한다. 본 구조물의 우선 설치 대상 해역은 가덕도 남동부 해안으로, 우천시 혹은 태풍 내습시 육상에서 발생하는 많은 해양쓰레기의 확산이 이루어지는 지역이다. 대상 해역의 환경하중 조건에서 플랫폼이 정상기능을 수행하도록 수치해석 기법을 기반으로 플랫폼 및 계류, 앵커시스템을 설계하고 설계 기준 적합성을 평가하였다.
