PFBC 집진용 세라믹 캔들필터의 기술개발 과제

  • 석탄의 고압 유동층연소는 기존의 PC 보일러보다는 저온 연소로써 NOx의 발생이 억제되며 탈황제를 동시에 주입하여 SOx 발생을 줄일 수 있는 것이 큰 잇점으로서 석탄 신에너지 개발에 유력한 시스템이다. 본 시스템에서 집진은 연소가스 중의 입자가 고온고압에서 고속으로 터빈에서 충돌될 때 일어나는 터빈의 마모, 침식, 및 부식 등을 방지하기 위하여 필수적이다. PFBC 연소기에서 연소된 가스가 정제후에 바로 가스터빈에 주입되기 때문에 PFBC의 집진은 매우 가혹한 조건이다. 뿐만 아니라 차세대에 더욱 높은 열효율 향상과 가스터빈의 수명 연장을 위하여 집진조건이 더욱 가혹해지고 엄격해질 전망이다. 그 동안 PFBC 집진의 연구가 다방면으로 진행되고 있으나 상용화를 위한 준비가 아직 갖추어지지 않았으며 모든 집진 시스템이 잠정적인 문제점을 갖고 있다. 그 중에서도 세라믹 캔들 필터는 성능이 우수하고 가장 많은 운전경험을 갖고 있기 때문에 가장 가까운 시기에 상용화에 성공할 수 있는 집진 시스템이다. 본 고에서는 세라믹 캔들필터 개발의 현황과 핵심 개발과제에 대하여 논의코자 했다.

  • 본 연구는 석탄가스화복합발전(IGCC)의 핵심부분이라 할 수 있는 슬래깅 형태의 분류층 가스화기에 원활한 Slagging을 유지하기 위해 Flux addition method와 Coal blending method를 적용하였다. 대상탄으로는 가스화에 적합하다고 알려진 알라스카탄, 대동탄과 비교탄으로 가스화에 부적합하다고 알려진 1종류의 유연탄을 대상으로 기본분석 및 화학적 조성분석, 용융온도를 측정하여 봄으로써 대상탄들의 슬래깅성향을 평가하였다. 대동탄과 알라스카탄에 대해서는 Flux addition method를 적용하고, 비교탄에 대해서는 Coal blending Method를 적용한 후, 140$0^{\circ}C$로 운전되는 가스화기의 효율을 최대화할 수 있는 Flux 첨가비와 blending ratio를 산정하였다.

  • The co-combustion of coal and three kinds of RDFs(Refuse Plastic Fuel) mixture has been experimented in a commercially operating CFB coal boiler respectively and the pollutant emissions such as SOx, NOx, TSP and dioxine were measured at the stack. The mixing ratio with coal was 7.5% RPF, 7.5% RDF and 10% SDF respectively. During co-combustion, dioxine emission level was very low and SOx, NOx and TSP were decreased comparing the single coal combustion. Emitting dioxine concentration was proportioned to the chlorine content of RDF. These RPF, SDF and RDF could be determined to be a good alternative fuel of general coal.

폐 석탄광산 배수처리 시 발생되는 슬러지를 이용한 오염토양 중금속 고형화 처리 기술 연구

  • 중금속으로 오염된 토양을 안정화하고자 석탄 광산 배수 처리 시 발생되는 슬러지를 이용하여 중금속 용출 실험을 실시하였다. 용출 실험을 위하여 슬러지를 무게비율로 0%, 1%, 3%를 완전혼합하고, 3%슬러지를 오염토양과 층을 이루어 용출 실험을 실시하였다. 유입 pH를 5.5-6.2와 3-4로 조절하여 용출실험을 실시한 결과 Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr의 용출 농토는 3% M<3% S<1% M<0% 순으로 나타났다. 오염토양 무게 비율로 3% 슬러지를 완전혼합 시 중금속 용출 실험 결과 20년 기준 안정성을 확보할 수 있었다.

  • Structural interpretation by using subsurface attitude of coal seam and outcrop patterns of folds and faults shows that wrench and thrust tectonics took place simultaneously in the study area. From the interference patterns of fold axes, three generations of folding are suggested: $F_1$ (NE-SW), $F_2$ (N-S), and $F_3$ (E-W). Differential displacement of rock mass from north to south yields to E-W fold and Osypcheon Fault. Geometry of subsurface coal seam show different patterns comparing to those of surface outcrop because of shallow-depth crustal shortening which took place post Cretaceous.

  • This study is to obtain some basic data which are prerequisite for the conceptual design of gasification process based on entrained-bed type gasifier. The Gibbs free energy minimization method is used to analyze the chemical equilibrium in the gasifier. The modeling results which consider the conventional mass balance and heat balance are compared with the experimental data published by Electric Power Research Institute. The analysis shows that the reaction in a entrained-bed gasifier is influenced mainly by the amount of oxidant, by the temperature of gasifier and by the type of coals.

  • Geophysical well logging at various coal fields were carried out to study the characteristic response of domestic coal seams. Also a computer program is developed for quantitative analysis of coal logging data. Most coal seams penetrated by the drill holes, where the well logging were carried out, showed poor thickness and quality, and were severely altered. Therefore, majority of log data are inadequate for detailed quantitative analysis. The logs show, however, typical characteristics with related to coal seams, but interpretation should be made with caution because certain log response of demestic coals, mostly anthracite, are quite different to those of foreign coals, mostly bituminous. The developed comuter program has been proved as an effective one for identification of coal seams and lithology anslysis, and is expected to be succesfully used for coal quality analysis in cases of more diversified log data of good quality being obtained.

  • The co-combustion of coal and RPF(Refuse Plastic Fuel) mixture has been experimented in a commercially operating CFB coal boiler and the emissions such as SOx, NOx, TSP and dioxine were measured at the stack. The experimented RPF was supplied by domestic RPF company that is commercially producing RPF pellet from the wasted plastics. Up to 15% of total coal was substituted to RPF and no trouble was happened during normal boiler operation. SOx and NOx concentration was reduced about $15{\sim}20$% and TSP(Total Suspended Particle) was drastically reduced about 30% during co-combustion. Dioxine concentration at mixing ratio of 7.5% was $0.0487ng{\sim}TEQ/Sm^3$ ($O_2$, 12%) that satisfied governmental emission regulation.

  • A new technology for refused derive fuel(RDF) utilization in circulating fluidized bed is under development. The RDF is tested in a bench scale circulating fluidized bed(CFB) combustor and its burning characteristics were investigated and collected as design parameters. The combustions were controllable and the HCl emission which is most important toxic emission were below 150 ppm at the exit of the combustor. The differences between conventional coal homing circulating fluidized bed boiler and the exclusive RDF boiler were studied and commercial scale co-generation CFB for RDF was designed.
