The purpose of this study is to examine the current state of webzine publications in Korean university libraries. We assess the menu, composition and contents of various types of webzines at thirty six different Korean university libraries. Highlights of our survey include the following: 1) Most university libraries operate several different webzine sites. 2) Categories included in library webzines mainly include 'Notices', 'Academic Database Information', 'Current Books', 'Recommended Reading', 'Utilization of Information', 'Book Review', 'Tips for Using the Library', 'Special Issues', 'Service Information', 'Quiz', 'Column', 'Special Events'. 3) Of these, the most popular categories were: 'Notices', 'Service Information', 'Tips for Using the Library', 'Special Issues', and 'Recommended Reading'.

Bauxite residues represent industrial wastes that have been accumulating over the past 120 years since the beginning of the alumina industry. They are typically classified as harmful substances owing to their strong alkalinity and salinity characteristics. These residues, with quantities steadily increasing by more than 150 million tons annually worldwide, are recycled into various industrial materials using dealkalization processing. This study investigates the generation process of alkaline substances in bauxite smelting and the recent techniques adopted for controlling their alkalinity. The properties of bauxite residues are known to vary depending on the raw mining and digestion methods. Thus, the dealkalization process must be selected considering the type of alkaline material, local environment, and infrastructure.

This article proposed a new online union catalog of children's material owned by children's libraries and public libraries in Korea. In order to meet users' information needs about children's material the existing access points in the online catalogs should be expanded including such information as children's age, type of publication, genre, subject, theme, book review, awarded books, and location. Since location information about a particular material is essential to users, a national online union catalog of children's material should be constructed.

This study investigated secondary materials of children and young adults materials produced by domestic and foreign countries. In order to do that, characteristics and present states of bibliographies, indexes, union catalogs, major journals were examined while bibliography, index and catalog were defined. This study results showed that there were no bibliography and index for children and young adults materials but only recommended book catalogs and award book catalogs were produced in Korea. There were however many various second materials in foreign countries.

With the popularity of Japan's "Three Kingdoms" series of games, the Three Kingdoms became popular and gave birth to the Three Kingdoms game for the traditional cultural resources and cultural industries. At the same time generate economic benefits and promote the traditional culture of double effect. With Liu Bei, Guan Yu and other roles in the development of cultural industries in each particular historical figure internationalization appearance design to get attention in the digital arts industry. In this thesis, three kingdoms cultures and three kingdoms generals were analyzed based on classic novel Three Kingdoms (三国演义). Guan Yu, China and South Korea in appearing common in the game as the center. Take example of the role of Guan Yu's generals styling, clothing, weapons, color comparison, attempts to explore the international trend of historical figures game character.

Because of the unique images of monsters and people curious about the unknown things in the game, gamers escape from ordinary life to explore a whole new world of games in the virtual space. This study was to summarize in Nursing perspective nursing missionary activities of Elizabeth J. Shepping, R, N(1880~1934), a Southern Presbyterian nursing missionary and explore Korean women's lives and Korean nursing history during the Japanese Colonial Period. Shepping committed herself to nursing activities, providing care to the lepers and patients mainly in Gwangju Jejung Hospital, Gunsan Guam Jesus Hospital, and Severnce Hospital, as well as engaging in nursing activities for disease prevention in local communities. She put much effort in educating women and nurses to help recover women's human rights, simultaneously spreading gospel for salvation. She founded the Chosun Nursing Association to help Korean community oppressed under Japanese colonial. Shepping's life based on her motto,"Not success, but service,"was holistic nursing missionary work.

The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of using the WorldCat, an International Union Catalog operated by OCLC as a tool for analyzing the trend of knowledge distribution in libraries around the world. In this study, four subject keywords, that is, Korea, Korean, Japan, and Japanese, were used to search materials related to Korea and Japan, and four facets, including medium, genre, language, and user level, were used to categorize search results from the WorldCat. The result shows that information resources related to Korea held by libraries around the world are only a little more than a third of Japan-related information resources. Especially Korea-related information resources for juveniles are less in numbers and lack in diversity in languages, media and genres, when compared with Japan-related information resources. Also an examination of two bibliographic records demonstrates that viewpoints expressed in user contributed reviews might affect diffusion of knowledge on certain subjects in the Next Generation Library Catalog.

The purpose of this study is to develop an automatic classification system for recommending appropriate books of 9 enneagram personality types, using book information data reviewed by librarians. Data used for this study are book review of 501 recommended titles for children and young adults from National Library for Children and Young Adults. This study is implemented on the assumption that most people prefer different types of books, depending on their preference or personality type. Performance test for two different types of machine learning models, nonlinear kernel and linear kernel, composed of 360 clustering models with 6 different types of index term weighting and feature selections, and 10 feature selection critical mass were experimented. It is appeared that LIBLINEAR has better performance than that of LibSVM(RBF kernel). Although the performance of the developed system in this study is relatively below expectations, and the high level of difficulty in personality type base classification take into consideration, it is meaningful as a result of early stage of the experiment.

Proposal assessments for new weapon system development such as C4I system have been applying a qualitative assessment. The main problem of qualitative assessment is that the results vary depending on the evaluator's subjective preferences and priorities. Also, if there is no discrimination of technical skills degrade, the company will be selected by bid price regardless of technical power. In order to making a fairness, We need a method to compensate for the evaluator's subjectivity and to enhance discrimination. Previous standardization method is limited because targets of the proposal assessment are minority and have similar skill level. So, The new standardized evaluation methods applicable to the proposal was presented. This way is using the priority instead of the score and has better performance than existing methods as the target numbers are smaller.
