필자는 이 글에서 박병철의 저서 Phenomenological Aspects of Wittgenstein's Philosophy (Kluwer 1998)에 대한 박정일 박사의 서평과 김영건 박사의 비판에 대한 반론을 제시하고 있다. 먼저 현상학과 현상론의 구분이 불분명하다는 비판에 대한 반론에서 시작하여, 유아론에 대한 비판을 반박하고 있으며, "논리-철학 논고"에서의 대상의 본성에 대한 견해도 밝히고 있다. 필자는 무엇보다도 자신의 시도가 여전히 불투명한 비트겐슈타인의 철학을 놓고 벌어지는 다양한 해석의 스펙트럼의 한 부분을 이룰 수 있을 것이라고 주장한다.

어린이에게 좋은 도서를 제공할 의무와 책임을 지고 있는 대표적인 기관은 도서관이다. 사서는 어린이를 위한 좋은 도서에 대한 정보를 요구하는 개인이나 단체를 위하여 상담과 조언을 할 수 있어야 한다. 그러나 현실적으로 출판물의 양적인 측면을 고려하면 사서가 어린이의 발달 단계에 적합하면서 좋은 책의 기준도 충족시키는 도서들을 선정하는 작업은 간단한 일이 아니다. 이상적인 관점에서 본다면, 도서를 선정하는 사서가 구입할 모든 책을 좋은 책의 평가 기준에 근거해서 살펴보는 것이 이상적이지만 한정된 시간 내에 모든 책을 자세하게 살펴보고 평가하는 일은 실제 업무상황을 고려할 때 거의 불가능한 일이다. 통계학의 수리론을 전개한 우리의 저서가 별로 없는 터에 윤기중교수의 '수리통계학'이 박영사를 통하여 간행되었다. 이책은 미적분에 관한 수학지식으로 능히 독파할 수 있도록 순차적으로 차분하게 기술되어 있다. 집합론의 개념에서부터 시작하여 확률론의 기초사항을 친절하게 설명하고 연속확률변수의 분포, 확률표본, 점추정, 다변량정규분포, 각종 통계량의 분포, 통계적 가설검정, 구간추정, 그리고 끝으로 회귀와 상관분석에 이르기까지 각종항목에 걸쳐서 통계학이론이 빠짐없이 기술되어 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the present state of the enriched contents of OPACs of public libraries in Korea. Examined are the OPACs of 125 public libraries which hold Jeon Du-hwan Hoegorok, and 260 public libraries which hold Banil Jongjokjuui retrieved from KOLIS-NET of the National Library of Korea from Sept. through Oct. 2019. The enriched contents of these controversial books are mostly provided by Naver, Daum, and Aladin Internet Bookstore, and their so-called summaries, reviews, etc. are actually only excerpts supplied by publishers. They are given only as a link to external sources or the whole or partial display in a bibliographic record. Since these enriched contents contain only publishers' promotional statements, but not any objective and professional review, they are not much useful for library users. Therefore, more active participation of librarians in creating or evaluating the enriched contents are proposed, especially for such controversial books.

Four statistics books, one translated by statisticians and three by non-statisticians, are reviewed. They are reviewed in terms of indices and bibliographies, statistical theory and terms, and the history of statistics. In addition, book review articles appeared in daily newspapers are considered. Unfortunately, we can find many(some of them trivial, and some others serious) problems in the translations. Many problems could have been got around if the books had been translated by statisticians. So, conclusion suggested in this article is very simple: Translation of statistics books, especially books for the laymen, is a job that Korean statisticians should not shift to others. The purpose of this study is to determine the progress of the implementation of the Servicebased Library 2.0 in Korean university libraries. We assess the Service-based Library 2.0 based on the web site analysis of 179 different Korean university libraries. Highlights of our survey include: (1) The most accessed features of the Service-based Library 2.0, were the 'Book Review', 'RSS', 'Tag & Tagging', 'Mobile App', 'Facet' and 'Open API'. (2) Among 179 libraries, of the 16 different services offered by the Service-based Library 2.0, 145 libraries opted for 4 or fewer services offered through the Service, 3 libraries opted for 5-9 services and 3 libraries availed themselves of 10 or more services. (3) More national university libraries than private libraries are implementing Service-based Library 2.0, including such services as 'Book Review', 'RSS', 'Mobile App', 'Facet', 'Blog', 'Twitter', 'Personnel service', 'SMS', 'Facebook'.

Picture books, as a genre, are characterized by conveyance of ideas through linguistic texts, visual texts, and the complementary interactions between them. The writer of a picture book develops and delivers his or her ideas with textual contents written in a unique style, while the artist conveys the writer's ideas through pictures where things, objects, and figures are imbued with various emotions. Understanding a picture in a picture book requires an understanding of both the structure shown on the surface and the underlying structure that adapts and visualizes the philosophy and ideas of the writer. In light of the discussion above, this study proposes a method to help librarians improve their understanding of visual literacy for picture books, as visual literacy is required for the provision of readers' advisory services regarding picture books. This method, which is based on behavioral psychologist Rudolf Arnheim's theory of visual thinking, is expected to help librarians write picture book reviews or other secondary materials.

Due to the rapid advancement of information technology and changes in the reading environment, the readers' advisory services provided by public libraries are facing challenges and opportunities. Recognizing the need for public libraries to respond and propel their services forward, this study analyzed the current status of online readers' advisory services offered by public libraries in Korea and discusses areas that require improvement. To achieve this, the study analyzed the online readers' advisory services in 50 public libraries located in Seoul and six metropolitan cities (Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, Busan, and Ulsan) across seven categories. These categories encompass various aspects, such as announcing reading programs and new books, identifying and addressing reader needs, developing content by librarians, generating content by readers, providing guidance on external reading information, connecting with professional book review databases and online websites, and utilizing social media services. Through this analysis, the study identified areas for improvement to enhance online readers' advisory services in public libraries and ultimately improve reader satisfaction. It suggested enhancing activities such as librarians' book recommendations and reviews for individual readers, reader participation, and interaction.
