Design of Anti-Surge Valve for FPSO Fuel Gas Compressor System (FPSO용 연료가스압축 시스템을 위한 서지방지 밸브 설계)

  • Fuel gas compressor system is applied to medium FPSO. In order to avoid surge, this system used the anti-surge valves. When surge occurs it may lead to system's fracture. So anti-surge valves are evaluated structural strength and structural safety. Especially, in emergency mode, valves are must be guaranteed structural safety. In this study, structural strength and structural safety of anti-surge valve was evaluated using the numerical simulation. Unigraphics NX 4.0 was used as Geometrical models, structural strength and structural safety calculation were carried out by ANSYS Workbench 12.1. The ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code is refer to allowable strength and safety factor of the valves.

A Study on the Adoption of an Integrated KORMARC Bibliogrphic Format (통합서지용 KORMARC 형식 적용에 관한 연구)

  • As the development of the new integrated KORMARC format is completed and the problems of KORMARC aroused by different formats by different material types are settled, librarians' interests have increased in adopting the new integrated format. This article attempts to demonstrate the necessity of adopting the new format and suggests some considering points in its application process. To effectively adopt the new format, firstly the scope of new format application should be decided, and then data conversion and related program development should be followed. It is hoped that this article will raise the understanding of the integrated KORMARC format and give some guidelines to libraries considering its adoption and library system vendors.

  • The purpose of this paper is to development an algorithm for FRBR implementation(functional requirements for bibliographic records), analyzing KORMARC bibliographic records by work types. For this purpose, it was utilized analyzing home and foreign case studies including OCLC and LC's algorithm. Analyzing the experimental data from the Korean National Library's bibliographic records, it was extracted from identifying elements by FRBR's four bibliographic entities. To cluster a related works by work-set, the algorithm was designed to construct the authorized access points as a combination of an author name and a title from the record. I suggested that it should be wholly improved a quality of existing bibliographic records and level of data input to development a FRBR algorithm in Korean libraries.

Extending Bibliographic Information Using Linked Data (링크드 데이터 방식을 통한 서지 정보의 확장에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, Linked Data was used for extending bibliographic data, because Linked Data provides shareable identifiers, data structures, and link information. Linked Data is especially efficient in expanding bibliographic data integrated with bibliographic ontology. Therefore, Linked Data and bibliographic ontologies were analyzed and available Linked Data was suggested. By linking between meta-data schemes, bibliographic data, and authority data, issues for the effective Linked Data sharing were suggested: 1) selecting proper Linked Data for each bibliographic organization, 2) linking between different Linked Data, and 3) developing their own Linked Data for each bibliographic organization.

Expanding and Improving FRBR Conceptual Model through FRBRoo (FRBRoo 분석을 통한 FRBR 개념모형의 확장과 개선)

  • In this study, based on the analysis of FRBRoo, we tried to propose suggestions to expand and improve the FRBR family conceptual model. FRBRoo is a plug-in ontology of CIDOC CRM with cooperation of museum field. As FRBR family models also revised and integrated into IFLA Library Reference Model, the additional analysis on IFLA LRM was performed. If bibliographic information is required to support the technical and user services of the library, the way to analyze the bibliographic information should be improved in order to cope with the new challenges faced by the library. To do this, time-related event concepts should be reflected in the modeling of bibliographic information. It is also necessary to expand the creation and exchange unit of bibliographic information to smaller units or larger units than legacy bibliographic records. Using FRBRoo as a linkage tool for the sharing of bibliographic information is also suggested.

  • This study examines how CIP program of the Library of Congress distributes, provides an access to, and helps upgrade CIP data through bibliographic utilities. LC CIP program can be characterized by the participation of many U.S. mainstream publishers, a continuing increase in the number of CIP data assigned annually, and an effort to immediately upgrade the completeness and accuracy of CIP data in cooperation with bibliographic utilities. Cooperation between LC and bibliographic utilities in performing quality control is worth noting, when compared with the limitation of CIP program of the National Library of Korea. It is suggested that the National Library of Korea should provide complete and accurate bibliographic and authority records for other types of new and old library materials published in Korea as well as CIP data for new monographic materials.

A User Study on Characteristics of Bibliographic Materials (서지자료특성에 대한 이용자 반응 조사)

  • Since with the information explosion more and more bibliographic materials are continually being produced, the need for improvement of the design of bibliographic materials is urgent for quicker and easier use. One questionaire survey concerned with user preference on 7 Korean bibliographic materials was carried out and got the result that two of those 7 systems, Annual Index to Korean Periodicals, Theses for the Doctor's & Master's Degree in Korea are used most frequently and there are also lots of user discontent about currency, coverage, subject heading, layout and typography. The other study was an experimental searching on 4 Korean bibliographic materials to find out whose coding system is most efficient in information searching. According to the result all of those 4 bibliographic materials are very low in retrieval ratio and Annual Index to Korean Periodicals shows the lowest retrieval ratio. The conclusion suggests that deeper and wider investigation should be carried out as one of national projects for the most useful and efficient presentation of bibliographic materials.

  • The lightning with high voltage and current can enter the basestations for mobile communication through their antenna. The device which can protect the basestation against the lightning, is surge arrestor. In this paper, the concept, kind, operating mechanism, design and fabrication of surge arrestor were studied. Based on the studied data, variable surge arrestors were designed for the current mobile communication service like a cellular, GSM and PCS and the next generation mobile communication like a IMT-2000. Computer simulation for the prediction of their characteristics and inner structure optimization for the improvement of their electrical characteristics were carried with high frequency 3D structure simulator. Quarter wave short stub surge arrestors for IMT-2000 were fabricated with their final design and then the measurement of electrical characteristics and the lightning test were executed. As a results of measurement, we obtained below 1.05 of VSWR, -0.035 dB of insertion loss, -150 dBc of intermodulation and 7∼ll V of residual voltage.

Current Trends for National Bibliography through Analyzing the Status of Representative National Bibliographies (주요국 국가서지 현황조사를 통한 국가서지의 최신 경향 분석)

  • This paper is to grasp the current trends of national bibliographies through analyzing representative national bibliographies using literature review, analysis of national bibliographies' web pages and survey. First, in order to conform to the definition of a national bibliography as a record of a national publication, it attempts to include a variety of materials from print to electronic resources, but in reality it cannot contain all the materials, so there are exceptions. It is impossible to create a general selection guide for national bibliography coverage, and a plan that reflects the national characteristics and prepares a valid and comprehensive coverage based on analysis is needed. Second, cooperation with publishers and libraries is being made to efficiently generate national bibliography. For the efficiency of national bibliography generation, changes should be sought such as the standardization and consistency, the collection level metadata description for digital resources, and the creation of national bibliography using linked data. Third, national bibliography is published through the national bibliographic online search system, linked data search, MARC download using PDF, OAI-PMH, SRU, Z39.50, and mass download in RDF/XML format, and is integrated with the online public access catalog or also built separately. Above all, national bibliographies and online public access catalogs need to be built in a way of data reuse through an integrated library system. Fourth, as a differentiated function for national bibliography, various services such as user tagging and national bibliographic statistics are provided along with various browsing functions. In addition, services of analysis of national bibliographic big data, links to electronic publications, and mass download of linked data should be provided, and it is necessary to identify users' needs and provide open services that reflect them in order to develop differentiated services. Through the current trends and considerations of the national bibliographies analyzed in this study, it will be possible to explore changes in national and international national bibliography.
