강상자형교의 생애주기비용 최적설계 (Life-Cycle Cost Optimization for Steel Box Girder Bridges)

  • This paper presents an optimum deck and girder system design for minimizing the life-cycle cost (LU) of steel box girder bridges. The problem of optimum LCC design of steel box girder bridges is formulated as that of minimization of the expected total LCC that consists of initial cost, maintenance cost, expected retrofit costs for strength, deflection, and crack. To demonstrate the effect of LCC optimum design of steel box girder bridges, the LCC optimum design is compared with conventional design method for steel box girder bridges design. From the numerical investigations, it may be positively stated that the optimum design of steel box girder bridges based on LCC will lead to more rational, economical and safer design.

  • LCC (Life-Cycle Cost) analysis is a practical method and a guideline for evalua-ting the economic performance of building service systems. By using the LCC analysis, the most cost-effective design decision can be made, which has the lowest LCC during the project study period among the various design alternatives. The present case shows an example of appro-priate use of the LCC analysis, by demonstrating the procedures of decision making among at-tarnative building HVAC systems at community center and congress hall of a local government.

  • 앞으로 국제경쟁력 확보를 위해서는 성능중심의 건설기술기준 적용이 필요하다. 성능중심의 건설기준을 개발하고, 성능계약제도 도입방안을 구축함으로써 시설물의 성능을 향상시키고, 생애주기비용(LCC)을 절감하며, 설계 및 시공자의 기술개발을 유도하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 건축전기 설비분야의 에너지성능 기준 개념과 외국의 도입사례를 살펴보고, 에너지성능기준 개발 대상 및 범위를 설정하고 성능기준 개발을 위한 접근방법을 도출하였다.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the performance of a heating and cooling system with aquifer thermal energy storage(ATES heat pump system) known as one of the underground thermal energy storage application systems. The ATES system was composed of heat pump unit and ATES, which was installed in a factory building located in Anseoung. The system represented very high heating and cooling performance, and showed nearly constant COP at each heating and cooling season due to the stability of EWT. The economic analysis about an ATES system and a conventional system was also executed. The conventional system adopted an air-conditioner in the summer season and a LNG boiler in the winter season. The payback period of the ATES system was estimated by 6.62 years.

  • This paper represents the life-cycle cost(LCC) of steel bridges which are located on the train-network. Corrosion problems are mainly considered in the steel members such as steel plate girder, box girder, truss and arch. Based on the current value, initial construction cost, maintenance cost and demolition cost are calculated and life-cycle costs are formulated for the several types of bridges. From the comparison on each LCC, an effective painting method is recommended for reducing the LCC of steel bridges. Even though the initial cost of Super Weather Resistance Heavy Duty Paintings (Resin Fluoride) is expensive, because of the long endurance, the LCC of steel bridges painted with Super Weather Resistance Heavy Duty Paintings (Resin Fluoride) is less than that painted with General Heavy Duty (Rubber Chloride).

  • Optimal route selection of railway should take consideration of the function of the railway, topography, practicability of construction and management as well as the cost. This study performed the surveys for experts and surrounding industries and the review for the bid guidelines in order to develop the quality model with the AHP method and establish the weight for each factor. Six quality models were developed for such as the efficiency of railway operation, structure design and practicability, economic feasibility, correspondence with other plans, civil appeal and environmental sustainability, and correspondence with system. The detailed evaluation elements were also derived by each factors.

  • In this paper, the objective is an evaluation of economics using Life Cycle Cost(LCC) analysis for the ballasted track and the concrete track. However, since the absence of reliable data on maintenance activities, the degree of a reliability about the results of the LCC analysis is insufficient yet. In order to remedy the problems, we surveyed a professional research group for an approximate estimation which can be represented a degree of maintenance through a application of examples. Hereby we found that it is possible to expect the retrenchment of cost using preventive maintenance management. Moreover we proposed appropriate and economical restrictions between track structures.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the decision making technique in roof waterproofing method at the early construction stage. Selecting the suitable construction method is difficult because of the complex interrelationships between many factors of influencing the construction method selection. This study presents an example of selecting suitable method by analyzing LCC (Life Cycle Cost) in roof waterproofing work. In this study, roof waterproofing method is analyzed by LCC(Life Cycle Cost) which is consists of the initial costs, running costs, and removal costs. Sheet waterproofing, membrane waterproofing and asphalt waterproofing costs are compared to select the most economic method. The result of this study revealed that considering LCC is useful in selecting the proper method in the construction work.

  • The so-called Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis on reinforced concrete bridge can provide useful information for initial design and maintenance plan of the RC bridge. This paper proposes an LCC prediction equation and a sensitivity analysis method for RC bridges. An LCC equation for the RC bridge which includes initial investment cost, maintenance cost, and demolition cost was derived and verified from the data for design and construction of an RC slab bridge. In order to solve uncertainty problem on actual discount rate and material characteristics in the analysis of LCC of concrete bridges, a sensitivity analysis method on the LCC using the Monte Carlo simulation technique was suggested.

  • The maintenance and repair period consists the largest part of a construction project life cycle cost. However, it has been analyzed that the repairing plan relies on regulations and the officers' experience mostly that sometimes lead to performing unnecessary work. Moreover, the data occurred during repairing have not been stored in a system that can be used in future plans. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest a repairing cost and time predicting model by applying the properties of the building.
