Requirements Management Framework for Design Management and Information Characteristics (건설 발주자 설계 요건관리 체계화를 위한 개념적 틀 및 정보특성)

  • For a successful construction project, the requirements of the client should be clearly defined and this should be reflected in the project based on the expertise of each project participant throughout the entire life-cycle. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the concept of Requirements Management to systematize and manage project requirements in terms of information management. This study aims to comprehensively define the concept of requirements management in the architecture industry and to provide a methodological basis for efficiently managing design requirements information by suggesting category of requirements information type and information analysis criteria. In addition, based on the case study, the requirements information was analyzed to propose a systemization methods of requirements management for PMO' design management and information management.

Design of an Integrated Product Management System for Game Software Development (게임 소프트웨어 산출물 통합관리시스템 설계)

  • This paper proposes an integrated management system for products of game software development. Those products generated over software life-cycle are generally huge in numbers, various in kinds and interconnected in relationships among them. Especially they are highly complex and tightly coupled each other because they are used to build another world which is composed of multi-modal data such as graphics, sound, logics and so on. Therefore it is critical to manage development products in an integrated manner to guarantee the quality of software. The proposed system is designed to provide project/requirement/configuration/traceability management capabilities and interfacing to CASE standards. To achieve the objective, it is based on data warehouse technologies which provide central repositories of heterogeneous data, multi-aspect reporting&analysis capabilities, traceability, verification, etc.

  • Building information modeling (BIM)-based construction projects have increased and become more varied, and as such the management of BIM-based facility information is also increasingly important for facility maintenance. Information management, and specifically product data mapping, however, has some problems in the area of manual data entry and does not adequately consider the exchange requirements of facility maintenance. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a method to improve the management of composite object information for BIM-based facility maintenance so that it can handle construction operation building information exchange (COBie) data for a composite object. Therefore, we present a method to map COBie data to related materials of a composite object. This research contributes to increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the required information mapping between a building model and product data using a BIM library through optimal BIM data adoption. Moreover, it allows for the creation and management of specific product data at the design development phase.

  • Enterprises should set up realizable goals and continually control the goals from apprehending whether they can be realized or not so that the enterprises grow consistently. Furthermore, from supplementing parts to be improved, goals are reset and the result should be controlled in order to fit to them. Lately, a lot of discussions about the results of organizations, projects, and companies are being realized in construction field. Particularly, in construction management, effective and professional control activities throughout the life cycle of facilities as well as the stage of business implementation of construction work are needed. About the result measurement of the construction management, lots of most domestic researches stay in the level of establishing basic concepts. Also, since characteristics of the construction field and the construction management were not reflected properly, it is in a situation that the result control system is not applied to on-site real works. Hence, this study intends to suggest fundamental data for measuring objective results from extracting result areas and key performance indicators of the construction management using Balanced Score Card.

  • Recently, many companies recognize the individual human resource as a core asset of the corporate value creation and devote a lot of effort to develop and manage competency-based human resource in order to strengthen the corporate competitiveness. As the integrated construction company taking the major portion in Korean construction industry, its construction engineers perform the construction supervision task with various related parties at each stage of the life cycle of the construction project. Therefore, the competency of a construction engineer is an important factor which have a direct impact on the success of the construction project. However, the current capability evaluation scheme of the domestic construction engineers is mainly oriented on the qualification factors such as the certificates or the seniority and this is quite different from evaluating the actual ability for construction management tasks. In this point of view, this study proposes the appropriate level of proficiency in cost management by analyzing the work process and its detailed items of the cost management that is the one of the basic management items of the construction industry. Based on this, this study analyzes the current competency level of the construction engineer by comparing with the required competency of each job position and also performs the engineer's work competency analysis of each work step.

  • Since 1990s, major corporations and public organizations have actively implemented their own knowledge management, by which they develop new businesses and enhance organizational efficiencies. However, their knowledge management processes are sometimes isolated or mismatched with their record management systems and reveal many problems to operate and maintain them effectively. This paper analyzes the current status and problems of corporate knowledge management. Next, it proposes the necessity and the methods to integrate knowledge management and records management in order to transform corporate records as useful knowledge resources. Aligning corporate record management strategies with knowledge management policies enables to improve the management of corporate electronic records. Especially, the implementation of record retention schedule based on the life cycle management of records is emphasized as a KM governance strategy and method to manage corporate records effectively.

  • The record continuum theory is now being studied in Australia, wherein the segregated record management of current, semi-current, and past records based on the temporal flow of the life cycle theory are being critcized. In addition, it emerged as a new paradigm for electronic record management without time and spatial constraints. Moreover, it is recognized as a logical and conceptual entity rather than as a fixed physical object. It also makes it possible to record multiple records in consideration of the complex, multidimensional environment of records. Based on this record continuation theory, the current information and communications technology (ICT) is applied to the four axes and dimension of the record continuation diagram of theoretical researcher Frank Upward. The researchers aim to realize a video recording management method suitable for the electronic record age.

A Study on Building Maintenance Institutionalization by Comparing with the Foreign Countries' Cases (국내외 건축물의 유지관리 운영실태의 비교분석에 의한 건축물 유지관리 제도화 방안 연구)

  • Under the 'Sustainability Paradigm', the building maintenance system is getting more important because more efficient maintenance means more sustainable building. This paper aims at improving present building maintenance system by comparing with the foreign developed countries' systems. The comparing countries are selected according to the level of building maintenance. As the results, 4 countries including USA, England, Germany, and Japan become the benchmark. The results show that building maintenance regulations are various by social, economic, and cultural characteristics. In addition, though building maintenance policy must be established, first of all, the related regulations and policy targets are prepared before the enforcement of maintenance regulation. The results provide some policy implications: 1. Building maintenance must be controled under the condition that a building can guarantee the safety of people and function of it. 2. Building maintenance system should contribute to the desirable urban environment and architectural culture.

Development Strategies and Feasibility Evaluation of Maintenance Operation System for Railway Bridge Based on Ubiquitous-BIM Technology (Ubiquitous-BIM 기술 기반의 철도교량 유지관리 운영체계 구축 전략 및 타당성 평가)

  • Due to the issues such as omission of data, document based management, maintenance based on measurement data and wire-based network, it is difficult existing maintenance system for railway bridges to act to diverse characteristics of site and environmental changes in real time. With these reasons, there are many constraints in establishing active maintenance strategies for railway bridges. To solve these issues, this study suggests an integrated maintenance business model based on practical utilization and information management based on BIM technology to build a smart maintenance operation system based on ubiquitous computing for railway bridges. To secure its development and practical applications, a quantitative evaluation by questionnaire analysis was performed. Therefore, it is expected that the suggested model will be utilized as a framework model in order to build the smart maintenance operation system from collection of maintenance data to action for railway bridges.

COVID-19 Related Personal Information Issues and Countermeasures from the Perspective of Record Management (기록관리 관점에서 본 코로나 19 관련 개인정보 이슈와 대응방안)

  • At a time when Korea and the rest of the world recently faced the unprecedented situation of "COVID-19," the view of actively "disclosure" of information to prevent the spread of infectious diseases is at odds with the view of "protecting" personal information as these social measures are coupled with the infringement of individuals' basic rights. In order to see the nation's response to the infectious disease crisis, we examined the current status and characteristics of public records according to crisis alert levels based on the manual for responding to infectious disease. Especially we analyzed the types and disclosure status of records containing personal information. For detecting personal information-related issues on news media, we collected online news articles and performed text anlaysis. Through this, we reviewed the problems of record management including personal information and suggested improvement points from the perspective of the life cycle of records: collect, manage, and dispose of them.
