Damage Characteristics of Korean Traditional Textiles by Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) Concentrations (이산화질소(NO2) 농도에 따른 전통직물의 손상 특성)

  • The gas acceleration test was conducted to identify the deterioration of Korean traditional textiles caused by $NO_2$. Total 20 specimens were prepared using 4 different materials (silk, cotton, ramie, hemp) after dyeing with 5 colors (undyed, red, yellow, blue, black). The specimens were exposed to 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100, and 1000 ppm $NO_2$ gas in the test chamber at $20^{\circ}C$, 50% RH for 1 day. Optical, chemical, and physical evaluation was carried out after the exposure. In the case of Korean traditional textile, color difference increased at 1 ppm/day, $NO_3{^-}$ concentration, carbonyl and C-$NO_2$ functional group increased while pH decreased at 10 ppm/day and tensile strength weakened at 100 ppm/day. when it comes to undyed textile, alteration of color difference on silk and hemp cloth, $NO_3{^-}$ concentration and tensile strength on hemp cloth was remarkable. In addition, color difference on blue and yellow textile, $NO_3{^-}$ concentration increase of yellow textile and tensile strength decrease of hemp cloth & ramie cloth were significant. The results suggest that critical $NO_2$ concentration of optical, chemical, and physical damage on Korean traditional textiles are 1ppm/day, 10 ppm/day, 100 ppm/day respectively.

  • 본 연구에서는 ITO/PEDOT:PSS//PFO:MEH-PPV/LiF/Al 구조를 갖는 고분자 유기발광다이오드를 제작하여 발광 도펀트인 MEH-PPV의 농도에 따른 황색 PLED 소자의 전기 광학적 특성에 대하여 조사하였다. MEH-PPV의 농도를 각각 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 wt% 로 변화시켜 소자를 평가한 결과 9 wt%의 농도에서 가장 우수한 전기 및 광학적 특성을 보였으며, 16 V의 인가전압에서 약 630 cd/$m^2$의 휘도 특성과 256 mA/$cm^2$의 전류밀도 특성이 관찰되었다. 또한 10 wt%의 소자에서는 오히려 낮은 광학적 특성이 관찰되어 9 wt%에서 도펀트의 농도가 포화됨이 관찰되었고, 제작된 소자의 색좌표 (CIE coordiante)는 모든 소자에서 (x, y = 0,49, 0.49)로 거의 동일하게 나타났다.

Optimization and Characteristics of Removal Condition of Livestock Wastewater Using a Photocatalytic Process (광촉매공정 적용시 축산폐수의 처리특성 및 최적화)

  • The photocatalytic degradation of livestock wastewater has been investigated over $TiO_2$ photocatalysts irradiated with a ultraviolet (UV) light. The effect of operational parameters, i.e., distance, reaction area, concentration of suspended solids(SS), and column diameter on the degradation of livestock wastewater has been performed in lab-scale. The optimal conditions for livestock wastewater were determined: distance was 3 cm (less than 7 cm), reaction area was $3.6\;m^2$, SS concentration was 40 mg/L (less than 300 mg/L) and column diameter was 5 mm (less than 10 mm). Under the optimal conditions, COD, color and coliform removal efficiencies were approximately 49%, 53% and 100%, respectively. Non-biodegradable COD removal efficiency increased with 57% using by photocatalysis process. Therefore, it is shown that photocatalysis has an effect on degradation of non-biodegradable organic matter.

  • SMB (simulated moving bed) is a continuous chromatographic process by shifting periodically port position. Binary of mixture, Blue dextran and Orange G, was separated by SMB. These components have unique color individually, that is, Blue dextran is blue and Orange G is orange. It is easy to understand SMB process by observing the shift of color changes in SMB. These components was not adsorbed to stationary phase and isolated by difference of size exclusion factor. Mass transfer coefficient was determined by single pulse test under several flow rate conditions. Operation condition was obtained by standing wave theory and optimized for high purities in extract and raffinate streams. Experiment was performed in open loop 4 zone (2-2-2-2) SMB. There are several advantages in open loop SMB, where extract is product for high purity. It is also easy to control flow rate and monitor experimental state during operation. Experimental, extract and raffinate history is well fitted with simulation results, however, column concentration profile is a little different from simulation results. Purities were 99.5% for extract and 98.9% for raffinate and extract and raffinate yields were obtained as 98.9% and 99.4% respectively.

Changes in Physical Properties of Dongchimi during Fermentation (동치미의 발효 중 물리적 성질의 변화)

  • The physicochemical properties of dongchimi, a Korean fermented Chinese radish, were investigated for their changes during fermentation in 7% NaCl brining solution at $4{\sim}35^{\circ}C$, The results showed that the relative viscosity of brining solution were initially decreased before steady increase there after. The Hunter L value increased and a value decreased and the turbidity also showed a similar increase as L value as affected more significantly by high fermentation temperature. The hardness of Chinese radish decreased initially followed by a little increase and then slowly decreased at later stage of fermentation. A linear relationship was found with decrease in salt concentration in brining solution and logarithmic value of brining time and activation energy was calculated for temperature range of $4{\sim}35^{\circ}C$ from the relationship.

  • Chloropentammine chromium(III) chloride를 출발물질로 하여 여러가지의 thiocyanatoammine계 착화합물을 합성하는 실험에 있어서 그 수득량이 예상보다 매우 적고 그 염의 모액이 농적자색이라는 점으로 보아 그 모액중에 어떠한 다른 착화합물이 다량 형성되어 있으리라고 추측하여 그 분리를 시도하였다든바 미려한 적자색의 결정을 얻었다. 그리고 분석에 의하여 이 물질이 potassium hexathiocyanatochromate(III) 임을 증명하였다. Cr$^{+++}$ 의 thiocyanate 착화합물형성에 관하여는 Niel Bjerrm$^{(8)}$에 의한 보고문이 있고 또 이들의 제법으로서는 Roesler$^{(9)}$들에 의하여 Potassium chromium alum에서부터 이 물질을 만드는 방법만이 보고되어 있을뿐이다. 따라서 Chloropentammine chromium(III) chloride에서 부터 이 물질을 만드는 이 새로운 방법이 이러한 화합물들의 제법으로서 앞으로 이용될 수 있는것으로 사료한다. 제조 방법: Chloropentammine chromium(III) chloride 3g을 KSCN 24g, 빙초산 24ml및 물 48ml의 혼합수용액에 현탁시킨 혼합물을 처음에는 잘 교반하면서 가온하고 다음 완전히 용해될때까지 끊인다. 냉각시킨 다음 생성된 증황색의 침반 Thiocyanatopentammine chromium(III) thiocyanate를 여과하고 여액 65ml에 KSCN 50g을 추가하여 완전용해시킨다. 이 용액을 방냉시키면 적자색의 미려한 결정이 석출되므로 이 결정을 여과하여 ethanol로 세척하고 진공 desiccator중에서 건조시켰다. 수득량 1.2~1.3g.

기능성 우유 개발을 위한 키토올리고당의 나노캡슐화

  • 본 연구는 키토올리고당이 우유에 첨가되었을 때에 색과 점도에 영향을 미치는 것을 방지하기 위하여 키토올리고당을 나노캡슐화하여 우유에 첨가하여 그 변화를 연구하였다. 혈중 콜레스테롤의 저하 기능이 있는 키토올리고당은 우유 첨가 시 원래의 특성을 변형시키나 나노캡슐 첨가시에는 88.08%의 높은 수율을 나타내며 0.5% 첨가시 점도와 색에 유의적 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 키토올리고당 나노캡슐은 온도에 크게 영향 받지 않으며 저장기간이 동안에(증류수 25일, 우유 15일)캡슐의 감소가 크지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 관능 평가시에는 나노캡슐 1.5%의 농도까지 시유와 유의적 차이를 느끼지 못하였다. 실험 결과, 키토올리고당의 우유 적용시 적색화와 점도 저하를 나노캡슐 적용을 통해 해결하고 나노캡슐의 저장에 따른 안정성이 온도에 안정한 물질이라 판단된다. 또한 나노캡슐을 우유에 적용시 관능적으로도 긍정적으로 평가되었다. 결과적으로 키토올리고당의 나노캡슐화는 우유에 적용이 가능하여 이화학적 및 관능적인 면에서 혈중 콜레스테롤 저하 기능성 우유로 가능성을 시사하였다.

Six Color Separation Using Additional Colorants and Quantitative Granularity Metric for Photography Quality (고화질 색 재현을 위한 추가적인 잉크와 정량적인 낟알 무의 측정자를 이용한 6색 분리)

  • This paper proposed a six-color separation using additional colorants and quantitative granularity metric to reduce color difference and graininess. In the conventional method, light magenta and light cyan are used in the bright region instead of magenta and cyan. However, the hue value of liBht magenta and light cyan is different from the one of magenta and cyan in CIELAB space, so that this makes the colorimetric reproduction more or less inaccurate. To improve this inaccuracy, the proposed method uses yellow and light magenta colorants as the additional colorants. In the bright region, magenta is replaced with light magenta and yellow, while cyan is replaced with light cyan and light magenta. This selection reduces hue difference because it creates the color of similar hue to magenta and cyan. In addition, smooth image can be simultaneously obtained by the less dot visibility of additional colorants. In the middle region, magenta is replaced with light magenta and magenta, while cyan is replaced with light cyan and cyan. The use of two colorants having a different concentration makes the dot Pattern coarse. To reflect this Phenomenon, quantitative granularity metric is used. In the dark region, only magenta and cyan colorant is used as usual. Through experiments, it is shown that the proposed method improves both colorimetric and smooth tone reproductions.

Uncertainty Analysis of Suspended Load Concentration Using Bayesian and Image Processing (Bayesian과 Image Processing을 이용한 부유사 농도의 불확실성 분석)

  • 부유사 수리실험에서 부유사의 농도를 측정하는 것은 불확실성이 매우 크다. Einstein(1950)은 유사의 pickup function 결정에서 이러한 불확실성 때문에 유사입자의 거동을 발생시키는 양력의 확률을 적용하기도 하였다. 일반적으로 부유사의 측정은 부유사 채집기를 통해 수행하지만, 시간적으로 비효율 적이며, 채집 시 채집기의 부피로 인한 난류 발생으로 채집 후 흐름 변화가 발생할 수 있다. 수리실험의 규모라면 이 문제는 더욱 부각될 수 있다. 연속적인 부유사의 농도 측정을 위해 이러한 점은 개선되어야 하는 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 유사 실험의 이러한 단점을 극복하고자 image processing 기법을 적용하였다. Image processing은 부유사의 농도가 증가할수록 탁도가 증가하는 특성을 이용하여, 부유사 농도를 추정하는 방법이다. 이 과정에서 RGB(Red-Green-Blue)로 색을 표시하는 방식에서 image를 변환하여 gray scale로 전환해야 하며, 파(wave)의 전파에 의한 image 결과의 변형은 없다고 가정하였다. Gray scale과 탁도와의 관계를 도출하기 위해 하상에 유사를 포설하고, 단파(surge)를 발생 시켰다. 실험은 길이 12.0m, 폭 0.8m, 높이 0.75m의 개수로에서 수행하였으며, 수로 상류에 sluice형 gate를 급격하게 개방하는 것으로 단파를 재현하였다. 탁도 측정을 위해 유사 채집기를 이용하였으며, 상기에서 제시한 흐름 교란문제로, 1지점에서 1개의 시간동안만 채집을 수행하였으며, image의 촬영을 병행하였다. 또한 data의 정확도를 높이기 위해 3번의 반복실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 gray scale과 탁도와는 일정한 관계가 나타났으며, 이를 토대로 gray scale-SSC(suspended sediment concentration)와의 관계를 도출하였다. Bayesian 분석을 이용하여 image processing의 보정(확률적 보정)을 추가적으로 수행하였다. 최종적으로 실측한 값과 image processing을 통한 값을 1:1 curve를 통해 비교하였으며, 약 9%의 평균 오차가 발생하여, image processing과 bayesian 적용을 통한 부유사 농도 측정은 신뢰할 만한 결과를 도출하는 것으로 판단된다.

Physicochemical characteristics and antioxidant activity of the organic green peppers (유기농 풋고추의 이화학적 특성 및 항산화활성)

  • As consumers are aware of their health and are more conscious of environmental conditions, there is an increasing demand for organic agri-foods. The present study aims to investigate the physicochemical quality characteristics and antioxidant activity of organic green peppers. The weight, length, moisture content, color (Hunter L, a, b) and hardness were measured for the quality characteristics. In addition, the DPPH, ABTS radical scavenging activities and total phenolic contents were analyzed for the comparison of antioxidant activities between organically and conventionally grown green peppers. The weight and length of the organically grown green peppers were lower than those of the conventionally grown ones. The moisture content of the organically and conventionally grown green peppers was similar. The L and b values of the organically grown green peppers were higher than those of the conventionally grown ones. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of the organically grown green peppers (62.86%) was higher than that of the conventionally grown ones (51.06%). The total phenolic content of the organically grown green peppers was higher than that of the conventionally grown ones, however, there was no significant differences between organically and conventionally grown green peppers (p<0.05). Further studies would be recommended for the evaluation of other characteristics such as flavor, taste, and bioactivity compounds between organically and conventionally grown green peppers.
