  • Machines, cities and bodies have been evolved together for a long time, and the recent development of information and communication technologies has transformed cities and bodies into new forms. Concerned with the relations between machines, cities and bodies, this paper explores how mobile networks are related with the physical space of the city and the psychological space of the body. The paper is organised into four main sections. First, it provides a theoretical review of the ways in which mobile networks transform urban spaces and human bodies. Secondly, it explains the generation of mobile networks through technological and institutional changes in Korea. Thirdly, it looks at the socio-spatial scales and time-space landscapes of mobile networks in relation to mobile users' motions and practices in their everyday lives. Finally, it attends to the ways in which mobile networks involve the production of paradoxical emotional spaces in relation to mobile users' emotions and desires to be dis/connected with mobile networks.

  • Each area of society has changed because of the development of information technology. Especially, the advent of NCW based on the technology of network has become a new paradigm for executing warfare. Effectiveness of NCW can be maximized by building the C4I system which is a core system of NCW. However, if we don't consider the influence in term of human dimension, we can't expect the effect of C4I system, since the key factor in C4I is human. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for evaluating Combat Power Effectiveness by considering the Influence of Human Factors that wasn't reflected in the past. Based on experimental validation our algorithm is more substantial than baseline algorithms. In addition, we proved that the Influence of Human Factors(e.g. collaboration) is the most important in battlefield. Therefore, proposed algorithm can be used for enhancing not only mission effectiveness in terms of military field but also work performance by effective Human Resource Management in terms of an enterprise.

  • Vision-based Human computer interaction is an emerging field of science and industry to provide natural way to communicate with human and computer. In that sense, inferring the emotional state of the person based on the facial expression recognition is an important issue. In this paper, we present a novel approach to recognize facial expression from a sequence of input images using emotional specific HMM (Hidden Markov Model) and facial motion tracking based on optical flow. Conventionally, in the HMM which consists of basic emotional states, it is considered natural that transitions between emotions are imposed to pass through neutral state. However, in this work we propose an enhanced transition framework model which consists of transitions between each emotional state without passing through neutral state in addition to a traditional transition model. For the localization of facial features from video sequence we exploit template matching and optical flow. The facial feature displacements traced by the optical flow are used for input parameters to HMM for facial expression recognition. From the experiment, we can prove that the proposed framework can effectively recognize the facial expression in real time.

  • Light is an essential element which make it possible for men to see things, and its important for painter cannot be too much emphasized. light has significant meanings in the history of painting as well as in human life. light playa an essential role in creating three- dimentional objects. Light has not only spiritural, psychological , and formative meanings but also in. itself in the field of drawing. In general, a study of light and colors should be understood not merely as visible effects but as something unconscious involving psychological experiences and spiritual symbols, thus, as a very subjective phenomena. The article analyzes new meanings and roles of light in modern area, examining ways in which studies of light has been performed. It also deals with the meaning and effects of light revealed in the history of oriental and western paintings, and their influence on modern illustrations through case studies in order to provide an opportunity to have a new understanding of light.

  • With the increase in use of the computer, the VCT syndrome has occured as a new socialJhea/health problem. ErgonomicaI design standards are a for the users to reduce stress and poor physical posture in the human body. In this study. we have suggested design dimensions recommended from previous studies. We also have reviewed users' preference dimenision, and analyzed differences between users' preference dimenision. and the previous design aiteria to verify physical appropriateness. We analyzed how each design dimension was reached and affected the tunan body by objective EMG evaluation. and subjective evaluation of physical discomfort and oorrIort. We have found that keyboard height is very important in a workstation. If the elbow's height is lower than the keyboard's height. it effedS the hand and wrist. If higher, it brings fatigue to the shoulder and neck. As a result of this experiment. we suggested that the height of a keyboard desk for Koreans be 660mm for the fixed type and 540-774mm for the adjustable type. Also other design reoommendations were suggested in the thesis. In ooncIusion, our research will be very important in the database because it provides adjustable ranges to fit user's body types in the various design flekIs.

  • This article examines the HRD implications of using robotic technology in the workplace. Because existing literature has been primarily about the technical engineering aspects of robotics, it is difficult to understand the socio-cultural perspective about the challenges and potentials of robotization in the workplace. Especially, in order to identify the best organizational support appropriate for working with robots, this article indicates alternative perspective for observing human-robot interaction in the workplace. In addition, this article points out four implications of robotic technology in organizations for practice and research development in HRD. These implications were identified as (1) defining the components of expertise in terms of human-robot interaction, (2) coping with organizational change process resulting from robotic technology, (3) designing appropriate interventions for an organization to effectively assist human-robot interaction, and (4) establishing the code of work ethics in the robotic age. The suggested implications can contribute to shaping conceptual frameworks for further empirical social science research.

  • This paper aims at advancing the understanding of human communication by reflecting the role of the consciousness of time in television communication. As the past, the present and the future are not independent realities, but co-exist in the human consciousness, the 'experience' and the 'expectation' are used as two essential conceptual tools which explain the mechanism of operation of the consciousness of time. The man anticipates the future based on the experience updated in the present, and chooses a present action and feels an emotion according to the expectation. The consciousness of time is extended to the symbolic instrument of time and the dominant vision of the world in the process of the socialization. The role of the consciousness of time in television communication is analyzed in both genres of information and fiction based on the media characteristics of television. The information and the fiction genres oppose to each other according to their relationships to the reality, but it turned out that their effects of communication such as enjoyment and novelty depends in common on the way of using the televiewer's consciousness of time.

  • MMO RPG Online game as a new means of human computer interaction has been made rapid progress. Even though many kinds of online game have published, few games are being well received by its user. So we have a problem to be solved what is the fundamentals to attract game users. I will apply a game theory of the Roger Caillois who lived as an typical french thinker. Although Roger Caillois had never experienced a computer game since he died at 1978, his game theory was acknowledged that a game can be classified into four sections to grab the human's interest related with culture. Four sections of game were consisted of Ilinx, Mimicry, Alea, and Agon. The competition with people in game is essential to "Agon" that which stands on the basis of a pride when one is definitely superior to the others. In same way, "Alea" is that which stands on the basis of fortune, Mimicry is that which stands on the basis of simulation, Ilinx is that which stands on the basis of dizzy. In conclusion, I will explain that a game theory of the Roger Caillois is useful tool for deveoper to understand game fundamentals.d game fundamentals.
