The Recognition Method for Focus Level using ECG(electrocardiogram) (심전도를 이용한 집중도 인식 방법)

  • Focus level has been important mental state in user study. Cardiac response has been related to focus and less clarified. The study was to determine cardiac parameters for recognizing focus level. The sixty participants were asked to play shooting game designed to control two focus levels. Electrocardiogram was measured during task. The parameters of time domain and frequency domain were determined from ECG. As a result of independent t-test, RRI, SDNN, rMSSD and pNN50 of time domain indicator were statistically significant in recognizing focus level. LF, HF, lnLF and lnHF of frequency domain were observed to be significant indicator. The rule base for recognition has been developed by the combination of RRI, rMSSD and lnHF. The rule base has been verified from another sixty data samples. The recognition accuracy were 95%. This study proposed significant cardiac indicators for recognizing focus level. The results provides objective measurement of focus in user interaction design in the fields of contents industry and service design.

Analyzing the effect of software education applying problem-solving learning (문제해결학습을 적용한 소프트웨어 교육 효과 분석)

  • The future society will be identify various problem situations accurately and the ability to solve problems effectively using computing technology become more important. Based on this background, an education of future human resources based on computational thinking as well as a problem-solving ability are important in university education. Therefore, in this paper, we have analyzed the effects of software education to improve computational thinking based on problem-solving learning. We have found that there is a significant difference between the interest of the students and their learning and academic achievements. Therefore, based on the understanding of the learning motivation and method, if the problem-solving learning is conducted in real-life scenarios suitable for the level of the student, it can be possible to induce the interest of the students and improve their computational thinking ability.

  • This study examined the efforts of both national and international science museums and centers to educate the public on recent developments in science, technology, social issues, and ethical issues by analyzing STS-related content exhibits. The results indicated that all science centers informed the public about recent science technology and relevant social and ethical issues by a variety of channels. However, science museums in Korea merely introduced new science and technology at the rudimentary level and used attractions to gather people's attention, which contributed in eliciting distorted thoughts on science and new technology. Science centers in Korea are in need of an upgrade. By analyzing science museums in foreign countries, a unique education on STS themes or scientific issues in Korea can be developed.

The Impact of SNS Advertising Attribute on Advertising Likeability and Purchase Intention: A Comparison of Difference According to Use Motive and Use Intensity of SNS (SNS 광고속성이 광고호감도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향: SNS 이용동기 및 이용강도에 따른 차이 비교)

  • This study investigated experimentally how factors of SNS advertising attribute impact on advertising likeability and purchase intention according to use motive and use intensity of SNS. Firstly showing difference according to use motive of SNS, in user of motive to managing human relation, reliability of advertising contents has effect the largest and entertainment of advertising interest has effect also as important factor. In user of motive to sharing interest information, irritation of advertising on using SNS has effect the largest negatively and information of advertising's information offering capability has effect larger as positive factor. Next showing difference according to use intensity of SNS, in user of high intensity, reliability and information of advertising contents has effect larger than other factors. In user of low intensity, irritation of advertising has effect the largest negatively and other factors have effect very small. This results can provide a practical contribution that explains important factors in producing effective SNS advertising according to using behavior characteristics of SNS.

  • This research aims at suggesting a case of designing theme-based integrated learning for usage smart media. New approach and direction for developing a gaming instructional design was suggested which can encourage learners to participate in. Quest-based learning, the learning environment design where learners conduct various learner-centered activities, plays an important role of reinforcing the motivation, promoting experiential and cooperative learning based on social interaction. The design using QR codes has been proved to be able to offer the learner-centered learning environment which includes social interaction strategy required for learners expanding their cognitive structure, motivation enhancing strategy encouraging their consistent participation in learning, complex problematic situation and scaffolding strategy emphasized by constructivism. And it is expected to contribute to promoting the design of theme-based integrated learning which is being demanded in the educational environment recently by combining systematic design process and strategies.

A Design of Smart-based collaborative learning model for programming education of elementary school students (초등학생 프로그래밍 교육을 위한 스마트 기반 협력학습 모형 설계)

  • This paper is to design smart based collaborative learning model for programming education of fifth graders of elementary school and applies it to a class and analyze its result. Designed learning model is composed of understanding of concept, realization, learning and sharing and it includes step by step learning materials and smart based collaborative learning activities. Scratch traffic light learning materials at leaning stage classify content to be checked in programming by colors and write to support programming internalization of learners. Provision of smart based collaborative learning activities that considered learning conditions of learners makes it possible for beginners to participate in and keep study actively. This study showed that there was statistically significant difference in learners' programming interest and those who achieved over 8 out of 10 points were 60.7% at three stage evaluations for achievement level that applied learning model which suggests that satisfactory achievement level is achieved.

A Case based Multiplex Teaching and Learning Model to Improve the Educational Level of Information and Communication Ethics in Elementary School (초등 정보통신 윤리수준 개선을 위한 사례 기반 다중형 교수학습모형)

  • Information and communication environment includes a lot of dangerous factors to elementary school children who do not establish their own value sense as well as its related knowledge yet. This paper proposes a case based multiplex teaching and learning model which leads students to participate and be interested in, then to improve the educational level of information and communication ethics in elementary school. This model progresses in centric of the conflict situations in information and communication ethics that can be commonly occurred in actual life. To adapt case based approach, three types of teaching and learning models, value conflict, value clarification, and role playing, are applied in a combined form. Along with applying the models, their educational effects have been compared and analysed in time sequence, in the educational level improvement point of view. The verification has been conducted by using surveys and questionnaires, in the four areas; cognitive, affective, behavioral, and then overall. The verification results show that the proposed method is effective to improve the educational level of information and communication ethics in elementary schooll.

Game Storytelling System in View of Character-centered Standpoint (캐릭터중심 관점에서 본 게임스토리텔링 시스템)

  • The feature of digital media's interactivity made the traditional storytelling to be evolved into a new concept of digital storytelling. Unlike films or animations, games' storytelling takes open-ended design method; thus, it is possible to create unlimited number of stones within a game depending upon the decisions of player characters. In this paper, a character-centered game storytelling system of a highly story-based RPG genre will be reviewed, and, it analyzes case studies of how a character with various story values can interact with its background story, virtual game world, and many events in its game storytelling system. Game storytelling structure and game mechanics are related to each other very closely. Therefore, it is possible to control the player's overall movement as the character's story develops according to a predictable structure or situation.

  • In the 21stcentury, teachers must welcome new technology to ensure the best learning in virtual classrooms, aside from the physical classroom. Google Classroom provides a vital chance to promote blended learning and professional development. The purpose of this study is to specify the procedures in problem design when employing blended problem-based learning (BPBL) and to design problems for learning the contents of the subject. The design of problems is crucial for effective BPBL. The underlying theory of BPBL is that learning is most effectively initiated and facilitated by posing and solving real-life problems that interest the learner, because working on such problems makes learning meaningful and motivates students. Ineffective problem-based learning (PBL) could affect students when acquiring sufficient domain knowledge, activating appropriate prior knowledge, and properly directing their own learning. The procedures for designing good problems are composed of the selection of educational content, figuring out the learner's characteristics, finding problems, setting up roles and situations, and writing down problems. Using these procedures, we designed five integration problems covering the contents of management subjects. Planned management subjects based on BPBL in a Mongolian university focuses on the process of designing problems.

  • Phytoplankton samples, collected about twenty day interval on May of 1967, at same twenty-one stations located in the north-eastern Korea Strait were examined in an attempt to determine the specific distribution and abundance of phytoplankton. Water bottle samples preserved with neutralized formula were used for the phytoplankton study. In May, water temperature and salinity show both lower at the sea of Korea side than that of Japan side, and both indicate gradually higher to the sea of Japan side. Fourty-six species of diatoms and three species of dinoflagellates in early May, and thirty-six species of diatoms and six species of dinoflagellates in the May were detected. Among them thirty species of diatoms and two species of dinoflagellates were appeared commonly in both cruise. Chaetoceros curvisetus and Rhizosolenia castracanei were wide distributed species, and Leptocylindrus danicus was the most numerous species at this sea in May. In generally, the sea of Korea side was more rich in species and numbers of phytoplankton.
