The Impact of Ethical Leadership on Unethical Pro-Supervisor Behavior: The Mediating Effect of Supervisor Identification and Affective Commitment (윤리적 리더십이 비윤리적 친상사 행동에 미치는 영향: 상사동일시와 정서적 몰입의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study empirically examined the relationships among ethical leadership, supervisor identification(SI), affective commitment(AC), and unethical pro-supervisor behavior(UPSB) based on social learning theory and social exchange theory. The data were collected by conducting a survey of 339 workers and analyzed using SPSS25 and SPSS Process Macro (v3.5). The results were as follows. First, ethical leadership directly negatively influences UPSB. Ethical leadership indirectly positively influences UPSB mediated by SI. Second, ethical leadership, completely mediated by AC, indirectly positively influences UPSB. Third, ethical leadership has an indirect positive effect on AC mediated by SI. This study showed how ethical leadership works in organizations through social learning theory and social exchange theory. Also, it suggested implications on how to use ethical leadership in field.

The Effects of Abusive Supervision on Subordinates' Organizational Identification and Workplace Deviance Behavior: The Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction (상사의 비인격적 감독이 부하의 조직동일시와 조직일탈행동에 미치는 영향: 직무만족의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study investigated the mediating role that subordinates' job satisfaction might play in influencing the relationships between abusive supervision and subordinates' organizational identification and workplace deviance behavior(WDB-O). With data gathered from employees(N=281) representing a wide array of organizations, structural equation modeling was used to test hypotheses. The results showed that abusive supervision is negatively related to job satisfaction and consequently organizational identification, positively associated with organizational deviance behavior through job satisfaction indirectly and has a direct effect on WDB-O.

The Effects of Ethical Leadership on Subordinates' Organizational Identification and Job Stress: The Mediating Role of Subordinates' Harmonious Passion (윤리적 리더십이 부하들의 조직동일시와 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향: 부하들의 조화로운 열정의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between ethical leadership, organizational identification and job stress. Moreover, harmonious passion was considered as a mediating factor between ethical leadership and outcomes. This study tested the mediated model with data from 369 employees working in various organizations. Then, structural equation modeling was used to test proposed hypotheses. The result showed that ethical leadership was positively related to harmonious passion and organizational identification. However, ethical leadership was not related to job stress in this study. And through the mediating role of harmonious passion, ethical leadership had significant effects on organizational identification positively and job stress negatively. Especially, it was revealed that harmonious passion partially mediated the relationship between ethical leadership and organizational identification, and fully did the relationship between ethical leadership and job stress. Implications and limitations of the study were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate mediatiing effects of perceived organization support and supervisor support that impact on dual commitment. Data were gathered from 188 employees who were working in Airlines. In the result of the hypothesis verification, First, perceived organization support and supervisor support have positive effects on dual commitment. Second, organiational identification turns out to have the mediating role in the relationship between perceived organization support and supervisor support and dual commitment. Finally, implication of results and future tasks were discussed with limitations.

  • The purpose of this study was to research the relationships among ethical climate, trust, organizational identification and turnover intention of employees in travel agency. Ethical climates the prevailing perceptions of typical organizational practices and procedures that have ethical content. Ethical climate involves the perceptions of rightness or wrongness present in the organization's work environment, and establishes the norms for acceptable and unacceptable behavior within the company. To accomplish this study, it was determined that the analysis derived from a hypothesis and literature reviews and data collected from 231 employees in travel agency. The results of empirical analysis showed as follows. First, Perceived ethical climate has a significant effect on trust, organizational identification and turnover intention. Second, Organizational identification has a significant effect on turnover intention while trust has no relationship with it. In addition, the mediating role of organizational identification is examined in the relationship between ethical climate and turnover intention. Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.

The Effects of Transformational Leadership on Employees Job Satisfaction & Organizational Identification in Korean Hotel Industry (호텔기업 종사원의 변혁적 리더십이 직무만족과 조직 동일시에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the structural elements of transformational leadership on hotel employees job satisfaction and organizational identification, and inquired into how moderating variables such as demographical characteristics and the features of hotels affect transformational leadership. The ultimate purpose of this study was to provide managerial implications to hotel business operators and hotel employees. The main results of this study are as follows; According to the result of factor analysis on transformational leadership and hotel employees job satisfaction, 18 variables were derived as two factors 'obliging leadership' & 'vision leadership' factor in the area of transformational leadership, and 31 variables were derived as four factors 'welfare and work environment', 'ability display and job stability', 'colleague relationship and job performance' and 'company policy' factor. Second, stepwise regression analysis on whether the type of transformational leadership at hotels has a significant effect on employees job satisfaction & organizational identification, 'vision leadership' and job satisfaction and the both 'vision leadership' & 'obliging leadership' among the types of transformational leadership appeared to have a significant effect on hotel employees organizational identification. Third, One-Way ANOVA and t-test in order to examine significant difference in the type of transformational leadership according to demographical characteristics and general characteristics, statistically significant difference was found according to income level, the current position, work experience, the type of hotel operation and the experience of job change.

The Moderating Effects of Emotional Intelligence in the Relations between Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment (조직 내 상사의 변혁적 리더십과 부하직원의 조직몰입 간의 관계에서 감성적 지능의 조절효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the moderating effects of emotional intelligence in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment. To achieve the this research purpose, theoretical and empirical studies related to transformational leadership, organizational commitment, and emotional intelligence were carried out simultaneously. The established hypotheses related to transformational leadership, organizational commitment, and emotional intelligence were verified by the hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS. The result of this research are as followers : First, the hierarchical regression analysis revealed that moderation term was significant(${\beta}$=0.146, p<.01). The interaction term for charisma and emotional intelligence had a significant and positive relationship with organizational commitment. Second, the hierarchical regression analysis revealed that moderation term was insignificant(${\beta}$=2.295, p<.05) The interaction term for inspirational motivation and emotional intelligence had a significant and positive relationship with organizational commitment. Third, the hierarchical regression analysis revealed that moderation term was significant(${\beta}$=0.200, p<.001). The interaction term for intellectual stimulation and emotional intelligence had a significant and positive relationship with organizational commitment. Fourth, the hierarchical regression analysis revealed that moderation term was significant(${\beta}$=2.213, p<.01).
