  • Advanced military nations have developed anti-tank smart munitions to maximize the effectiveness of the tank combat. In this paper we introduced new munition models (KSTAM) for arrack on the top of the tank and analyzed those operation research. To understand the adaptation to the future tank munition we have performed a trade-off study using the proposed models for smart tank munitions which have been developed or are being developed in advanced nations.

  • 전차탄의 철갑기술과 전차의 방호기술의 경쟁적인 연구개발로 성능이 지속적으로 발전되면서 전차방호면에서는 피탄되기전에 탄을 인식하여 파괴하는 능동파괴장치로,대전차 기술면에서는 취약한 전차의 상부를 발사후 망각개념의 지능탄으로 타격하는 기술로 발전되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 군사선진국들이 개발중인 전차포 지능찬의 특성을 조사하고 새로운 체계모델을 설정하여 비교상쇄연구를 수행하였으며, 향후 무기체계로의 가용성을 분석하였다.

  • A smart submunition drops through the expected trajectory to have a appropriate target searching footprint for the armored ground vehicles. Parachutes can be used as a tool to decelerate and spin the submunition. Usually submunition's descent velocity, spin rate, submunition inclination angle against vertical and dynamic stability affect to its target searching footprint. Therefore it is important to design optimal parachute and load configuration for the overall system performance. In this paper we described the dynamic motion of submunition by the mathematical model of parachute and load. Through the computer simulation we can analyze the submunition footprint affected by parachute and load design.

  • An Adaptive Positive Position Feedback method is presented for controlling the roll of the supersonic smart projectile. The proposed strategy combines the attractive attributes of Positive Position Feedback(PPF) of Goh and Caughey, and Lyapunov stability theorem. The parameters of Adaptive-PFF controller are adjusted in an adaptive mauler in order to follow the performance of an optimal reference model. In this way, optimal damping and zero steady-state errors can be achieved even in the presence of uncertain or changing plant parameters. The performance obtained with the Adaptive-PPF algorithm is compared with conventional PPF control algorithm. The results obtained emphasize the potential of Adaptive-PPF algorithm as an efficient means for controlling plants such as supersonic flight systems with uncertainties in real time.

  • We have developed a weapon effectiveness evaluation model for top-attack smart munitions(WEEM/TASM), which is a many on many Monte Carlo Model evaluating the effectiveness of top-attack smart munitions against armoured ground vehicles. In this model the battle is reduced to a one-sided battle situation in that the target vehicles are regarded as being stationary and passive. It can simulate the whole attack process of smart munitions from firing artillery dispenser to sensing and hitting processes after dispense. It can also calculate the probability of kill of each target and the numbers of rounds required to fulfill the degree of damage in statistical manners. In this paper, we describe the basis for our design concepts reflected in the model to simulate the weapon effectiveness of top-attack smart munitions and provide simulation results for an example case.

Evaluation of Efficacy of PoulShot® MG-F Vaccine against Mycoplasma gallisepticum Infection in the Layer Farms (PoulShot® MG-F 백신의 마이코플라즈마 감염증에 대한 산란계 농장에서의 야외 효능 평가)

  • Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) infection results in severe economic loss in the poultry industry. In the previous reports, F strain, one of the MG live vaccine strains, could protect the bird from field infection of MG strains. In this study, efficacy of PoulShot$^{(R)}$ MG-F vaccine againset mycoplasma gallisepticum infection was evaluated for filed application in commercial layers. Commercial layers from two different farms received with PoulShot$^{(R)}$ MG-F, MG-F live vaccine at 9~14 weeks of age. Serological immune response to MG vaccine, the persistency of MG vaccine strain in the upper respiratory tracts and egg production rate were evaluated in the vaccinated, contacted or nonvaccinated flocks. The serological response was first detected at 3 weeks after vaccination (WAV) and persisted for 31 WAV. The MG vaccine strains were also persisted for 31 WAV based on the reisolation and PCR detection. There was no difference between the vaccinated or non-vaccinated flocks in the egg production rate but in the abnormality rate of eggs. Based on the above results, we suggested that the PoulShot$^{(R)}$, MG-F live vaccine was fully immunogenic and had characteristics of long persistence in the upper respiratory trachea which will reduce economic loss caused by MG infection in the layer farms.

  • This paper aims to formulate the method of estimating the wartime stockpile requirement of 155mm self-propelled artillery including intelligent ammunition for armored vehicles, currently being developed. The usual method of utilizing war-game simulation results in considerable margins in expected occupancy ratio between ground forces and air forces for each weapon system for armored vehicles. Also, the method tends to produce excessive output greater than the minimal stockpile requirements; therefore, the study aims to overcome limitations like these by the allocation method for each weapon system according to targets. This allocation method is better than war-game simulation method.

Design of a Multi Dielectric Coating against Non-invaisive Attack (비침투형 공격에 강한 다중 유전체 코팅 설계)

  • In general, IC chip circuit which is operating a cryptographic computation tends to radiate stronger electromagnetic signal to the outside. By using a power detecter such as a loop antenna near cryptographic device, the encryption key can be identified by probing a electromagnetic signal. To implement a method against non-invasive type attack, multi dielectric slab structure on IC chip to suppress radiated electromagnetic signal was introduced. Multiple dielectric slab was implemented by suitably configured to have the Bragg reflection characteristics, and then the reflection response was computed and verified its effectiveness. As a result, the thickness of the dielectric coating was 2mm and the reflection response characteristics for the vertical incidence was achieved to be 91% level.

  • 전차는 제1차 세계대전 중인 1916년 영국 육군에 의해 Mark-I 전차가 등장한 이래, 80여년동안 지상전에서 중요한 역할을 수행했으며, 미래에도 더욱 정교한 무기체계(피아식별 장비 부착, 개량형 장갑/방호기술, 강력한 추진 시스템, 무기의 유효성 등)로 발전될 것이다. 이에 따라 대전차 무기체계도 바주카형에서 LAW 및 다목적 대장갑차무기, 특히 대전차 미사일의 눈부신 발달(소형화, 견착식, 상부공격력, 관통능력 향상, 전자파 방해방지 등)로 전차와 대전차 무기는 "탁구 게임"을 연상케하는 치열한 경쟁이 되어 왔다. 즉 "창"과 "방패"와 같이 상대적 발전에 따라 지속적으로 첨단과학기술이 총동원되고 있는 추세이다. 이 글에서는 대전차미사일의 개발 성과와 발전 추세를 소개하고자 한다
