Improved Complementary Filter with The Butterworth Property (버터워즈 특성을 갖는 개선된 상보필터)

  • Complementary Filter is commonly used in signal processing method for real-time position measurement. Butterworth filter characteristic has a uniform gain in the pass band, the blocking band has a good blocking characteristics. Therefore, we propose a method of designing a complementary filter having a characteristic of Butterworth filter characteristic. By setting the appropriate filter coefficients in the simulation it appears to improve the performance of the filter. In the experiment it shows a real-time signal processing is possible by using the calculated filter coefficients in the simulation.

  • 줄넘기와 같은 반복적인 운동들의 개수 측정은 가속도 센서의 가속도 값과 자이로 센서의 각속도 값의 특징을 추출하고 선택하여 개수를 판단한다. 하지만 잡음과 진동에 취약한 가속도와 드리프트 현상이 발생하는 각속도의 문제점으로 인하여 줄넘기 개수를 세는데 정확도가 떨어지는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 6축 가속도 자이로 센서에 상보필터를 적용하여 가속도와 각속도 값의 오류를 최소화하여 보다 정확한 개수를 측정하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 센서 값의 특징만을 보고 판단하는 방법에 비해 정확하게 개수를 측정하는 것을 실험 결과를 통해 확인할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents an analysis of the short-range radar noise adjusting the angle of the radar reflector for the handicapped aids and suggests a complementary filter that combines a moving average filter with a heuristic algorithm to remove the radar noise. It also shows the effectiveness of the suggested filter by comparing the experiments results between the Kalman filter and the suggested filter.

  • The squat is an exercise that can effectively improve the muscle strength of the lower body, which can be performed in a variety of places without restrictions on places including homes. However, injuries due to incorrect motion or excessive angles are frequently occurring. In this study, we developed a single sensor-based squat angle measurement system that can inform the squat angle according to the correct motion during the squat exercise. The sensor module, including the acceleration sensor and the gyro sensor, is attached to the user's thigh. The squat angle was calculated using the complementary filter complementing the pros and cons of acceleration and gyro sensor. It was found that the calculated squat angle showed the proper correlation compared to the squat angle measured by a goniometer, and the influence of the coefficient of the complementary filter on the accuracy was evaluated.

  • The acceleration sensor and the gyroscopic sensor are used as representative sensors to detect repetitive motion and have been used to analyze various sporting components. However, both sensors have problems with noise sensitivity and accumulation of errors. There have been attempts to use two sensors together to overcome hardware problems. The complementary filter has shown successful results in mitigating the problems of both sensors by minimizing the disadvantages of accelerometer and gyroscope sensors and maximizing their advantages. In this paper, we proposed a modified method using neural network to reduce variable. The neural network is an algorithm that can precisely measure even in unexpected environments or situations by pre-learning the number of various cases. The proposed method applies a Neural Network by dividing the repetitive motion into three sections, the first, the middle and the end. As a result, the recognition rate is 96.35%, 98.77%, 96.92% and the accuracy is 97.18%.

  • There are various methods to count the number of repetitive motions such as jump rope. Most of the methods use features extracted from the time-varying waves of acceleration or angular velocity, which is the main feature in the count of rotations in jump rope. However, there exist several variables and it is not easy to find the count with a single sensor. For example, accelerometer is susceptible to noise and vibration, and the angular velocity may cause a drift phenomenon, which is the main cause of the inaccurate count of jump rope rotation. In this paper, complementary filter is used to consider two sensors simultaneously and complement each other, which results in more accurate count in jump rope rotation. The proposed method can count the exact number of jump rope rotation compared to other existing methods only using one sensor value, which is confirmed through experimental results.

  • A 3V CMOS continuous-time fully-balanced integrator for low-voltage analog-digital mixed-mode signal processing is designed in this paper. The basic architecture of the designed fully-balanced integrator is complementary circuit which is composed of NMOS and PMOS transistor. And this complementary circuit can extend transconductance of an integrator. So. the unity gain frequency, pole and zero of integrator are increased by the extended transconductance. The SPICE simulation and small signal analysis results show that the UGF, pole and zero of the integrator is increased larger than those of the compared integrtors. The three-pole active low-pass filter is designed as a application circuit of the fully-balanced integrator, using 0.83V CMOS processing parameter.

  • An 8-channel digital filter bank with wave digital filters(WDF) is studied. Wave digital filtwr is automatically a directional filter. Using these properties, a new method for organizing the 8-channel digital filter bank is proposed. This will lead to enormous savings in memories for the digital signal processign chip.

  • This paper introduces an altitude determination algorithm using GPS/INS/Baroaltimeter and evaluates the algorithm by real field tests. The test results show that the proposed method can determine the altitude of an aircraft continuously and sensitively. Therefore, it is appropriate to be used as an altimeter for a flight control system, especially for the automatic take-off and landing. In addition, it is shown that the second and the third baro-inertial vertical channel damping methods are essentially complementary filters while the proposed scheme improves these complementary filters.

  • Ignorance of battery pack life could bring unexpected UAV crashes and so the SOH estimation became a next important factor to the SOC estimation. In contrast to the EV applications, the small UAV could not carry heavy and complex BMS and so it is required to apply a simple, light, cheap, but powerful BMS to prevent any accident. In this paper, we show two SOH estimation methods, using internal resistance and using $SOC_I$ and $SOC_V$ with CF. Results show that the SOH becomes about 92% after 30 number of discharging cycles.
