  • This study employs Lacan's psychoanalytic approach to reinterpret the images of others and teachers that influence the process of self-formation within the teaching profession as students enter a university of education Seventy-four first- and second-year students majoring in science education at the College of Education from three regions across the country participated in this study, which was conducted using Lacan's L schematic as a representative theoretical framework. Through qualitative analysis and a word cloud analysis, it was confirmed that the students developed perceptions of the teaching profession based on somewhat fictitious and unrealistic teacher images, while others actively intervened in the process of career decision-making. In addition, although parents or teachers mainly occupied the realm of the Other, it was found that they failed to appropriately fulfill the role of the Other, in that they should have corrected the fictional image of teachers. Accordingly, it is necessary to recognize the limitations of ego-psychological career education that can deepen fixations on distorted self-images and, therefore, seek a new career education and counseling model through a psychoanalytic approach.

To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 team leaders, and analyzed according to the grounded theory research method procedure suggested by Strauss and Corbin. As a results, a total of 51 concepts, 17 subcategories, and 8 categories were derived. As a causal condition, the concept of 'contemplating and reinterpreting communication necessary for the organization' was derived, and the central phenomenon was 'intentional effort made in parallel with work and private conversations'. The contextual condition was 'recognizing the need to cope with environmental changes', and the mediating condition was 'self-reflection and self-coaching time' was derived. The action/interaction strategy was conceptualized as a communication process with task-oriented coping, conflict resolution coping, and relationship promotion coping, and was confirmed as 'recognizing virtuous cycle communication within the organization' as a result of interaction with the central phenomenon. As a result of analysis of the team leader's communication process, the effort stage, approach stage, coping stage, and cycle stage were shown. As a result of the type analysis, task-oriented coping was a facilitator, conflict resolution coping was a supporter, and relationship promotion coping was a considerate. This study is an empirical study on how the corporate team leader perceives and expresses communication in the relationship with the team members.

  • The purpose of this study is the construction and internal validation of DT ISD model that incorporates Design Thinking process into Instructional Systems Design. The study proceeded in 3 steps. Firstly, literature review was conducted to examine the process and components of Instructional Systems Design model such as ADDIE. Design Thinking models were also reviewed to determine the probability of integrating Design Thinking with ISD. Secondly, DT ISD model was constructed by adopting 3 principles of Design Thinking to ISD process. Thirdly, the internal validation research was conducted through 3 rounds delphi study and DT ISD model was finally validated by experts of instructional technology and lifelong education. DT ISD model is based upon constructionism in learning theory rather than behavioral or cognitive learning theory such as ADDIE. Hence, DT ISD model is an effective instructional design model for adult lifelong education program. It is suggested that action research is necessary to examine the external validation of DT ISD model.

  • This paper presents a motion-capture-based projection VR system to explore the effectiveness of gamification in improving environmental awareness. We examine the key components of positive and negative VR game content and analyze the impact of individual and cooperative play methods on promoting sustainable behaviors. Our findings are as follows. Firstly, we discovered that the use of positive content in individual play mode was effective in improving awareness of the importance of recycling. Secondly, we confirmed that the use of positive content in cooperative play mode and the use of negative content in individual play mode were each effective in enhancing awareness of the seriousness of environmental pollution. Thirdly, we found that experiencing positive content first, followed by negative content, in individual play mode was effective in increasing interest in the environment. Based on these findings, we determined that adjusting the order of use of positive and negative content is more effective than simply using positive or negative content alone for improving environmental awareness. Moreover, considering the importance of recycling, the seriousness of environmental pollution, and the level of interest in the environment, we confirmed that individual play mode is effective and cooperative play mode can be more effective depending on the measure.

They were aged between 40 and 60 and were going through their menopause. The subjects were selected by convenient sampling, which was one of nonprobability sampling methods. The collected data were analyzed by the statistical package SPSS. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, the climacteric women didn't take a positive attitude toward developmental phenomena. They occasionally suffered severe menopausal symptoms, and they didn't find a great meaning in their life. Second, the climacteric women found a more meaning in their life when they took a more positive attitude to developmental phenomena, and those who underwent severer menopausal symptoms found a less meaning in their life. Third, the climacteric women's meaning of life was under the influence of their attitude toward developmental phenomena and menopausal symptoms. Specifically, their attitude to menopause and mental symptoms had a large impact on that. Given the findings of the study, social welfare intervention should be provided for climacteric women to promote their physical health related to menopausal symptoms and psychological health related to attitude toward developmental phenomena to find a more meaning in their life. Besides, local welfare centers should be open to climacteric women as one of governmental policies so that they could lead a healthy life. Education should be provided for them to be ready for their own menopause, and social welfare counseling service should be offered from diverse angles

  • Depression in old age not only is prevalent but also causes a considerable amount of burden in physical, psychosocial, and economic terms. Intervention, however, is often delayed due to the understanding that considers depressive symptoms as a normal process of aging or signs of physical illnesses. Since the recognition of symptoms often initiate one's help seeking process, a correct identification of symptoms can contribute to early detection and intervention to depression in oneself as well as in others. This study interviewed 104 older adults living in an urban area, and explored their ability to correctly identify depressive symptoms and factors related to identification. The study results show that respondents who were able to correctly identify symptoms of depression were only 14%, and the rest defined the symptoms as social, economic, and other psychological issues. Of the factors in the logistic regression model, age being 75 and over and mass media as source of mental health information affected negatively their ability to correctly identify symptoms; mental health education programs affected positively their ability. Based on these results, it is suggested that such strategies as employing a face-to-face provision of concrete information and counseling can be more effective than delivering information via large-scale lectures. Additionally, a future research deems necessary to conduct an in-depth examination of mental health/illness-related contents on mass media.
