Studies on the Structure of Forest Community in Subalpine Zone of Togyusan-Abies koreana Forest- (덕유산 아고산지대의 삼림군집구조에 관한 연구-구상나무림-)

  • 덕유산의 향적봉과 남덕유산을 잇는 아고산지대(1.350~1.600m)에 분포하는 한국특산종 구상나무의 생육현황과 구상나무림의 군집구조를 정확히 파악하여 앞으로의 구상나무림 관리의 기초자료를 마련하고자, 구상나무가 분포하는 지역에 27개의 조사구(20m$\times$20m)를 설치하여 식생을 조사하였다. 덕유산 아고산지대 구상나무림의 종구성적 특성은 신갈나무 - 주목 - 구상나무군집이었다. 수종간의 상관관계에서는 주목과 병꽃나무; 호랑버들과 부게꽃나무; 백당나무와 호랑버들; 당단풍과 조릿대 등의 종들 간에는 높은 정의 상관이 인정되었고, 구상나무와 병꽃나무; 신갈나무와 노린재나무 등의 수종들 간에는 높은 부의 상관이 인정되었다. 해발고와 정의 상관이 인정된 것은 주목과 백당나무 등이었고, 부의 상관이 인정된 것은 쇠물푸레이었다. 구상나무의 활력이 저조한 것으로 나타났으며, 18.18%는 고사목이었다. 구상나무 고사목은 흉고직경 10~30cm 의 범위에 드는 것들이 대부분이었다. 생육현황표의 점수 평균은 11.73점이었고, 점수와 토심과는 고도의 부의 상관이 인정되었다.

A Study on a DDC Knowledgebase Design for Subject Access in Online Catalog (온라인목록 주제접근점 확장을 위한 분류표 지식베이스 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, A DDC online system was developed which provides subject access and browsing function for class numbers or subject terms. A knowledgebase of the DDC Schedules and Relative Index was designed for this purpose using IBM-PC. From the DDC 20th edition, subjects from 004 to 006, covering‘data processing’,‘computer science’‘programming and progrms’, and etc., were selected for this experiment. DDC schedules are represented as a frame structure which is apt to describe hierachical structures. This experiment, joining the DDC to the information retrieval environment of an online catalog, will contribute to the future of the online DDC system by providing possiblities for search strategies not feasible through the alphabetical approach of subject headings and keywords presently supported by online catalogs.

  • In spite of the expansion of population as well as the improvement of living standard, the sugar consumption in Korea depends totally upon the imported sugar with no domestic production. In order to solve this current problem, the author carried out series of experiments and investigations in Daegwanryeong area best suitable for sugar beet cultivation to determine the good varieties, cultivation method, distribution of cultivation area. Thus, it is expected that the result of investigation make a small contribution to the enterprise or production.

Availability of Astigmatism Expectation by Jin's and Beam Project Chart (진용한 시력표와 투영식 시력표에서 난시량 예측의 용이성)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to predict the amount of astigmatism through logMAR visual acuity by Jin's chart at best vision spherical power and to compare availability of astigmatism expectation by Jin's and beam project chart. Methods: LogMAR and decimal visual acuity were measured for 150 college students and visual acuity and compared the amount of astigmatism under full correction. Results: Jin's chart was showed marked differences at least more than 0.25 D intervals per line than beam project chart. Correlation with the amount of astigmatism was higher the logMAR visual acuity r = 0.8578 than decimal visual acuity r = -0.7199. Conclusions: LogMAR visual acuity at best vision spherical power was able to predict to amount of astigmatism and Jin's chart was easier than beam project chart to predict difference of each lines.

The effects of several food-plants on the pupal weight and fecundity of the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea $D_{RURY}$ (식이식물의 종류가 흰불나방(Hyphantria cunea)의 용체중 및 포란수에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was planned to find out the effects of several food-plants on the pupal weight and the number of eggs in the ovary of the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea $D_{RURY}$. The larvae were separately reared on different food-plants in the Petri dish. Four to six day old pupae were used for the study of the pupal weight. The number of eggs in the ovary was counted under the binocular dissecting microscope. The loaves of the food-plants were sampled on Juiy 16, and analyzed by Kjeldahl method for the determination of total nitrogen content. The results obtained in this study were as follows; (1) The pupal weights were highly different according to the species of plants and sexes. The greatest pupal weight found in the pupae reared on the mulberry and the least one in the pupae reared on the apple tree. The weight female pupae was greater than that of male pupae in every case. (2) The number of eggs in the ovary was positively correlated to the pupal weight. (3) The nitrogen content of the food-plants used in this experiment was varied with the species of the plants. However, the nitrogen content of the food-plants was not significantly correlated to the pupal weight and the number eggs in the ovary.

Suggestion of an Evaluation Chart for Landslide Susceptibility using a Quantification Analysis based on Canonical Correlation (정준상관 기반의 수량화분석에 의한 산사태 취약성 평가기법 제안)

  • Probabilistic prediction methods of landslides which have been developed in recent can be reliable with premise of detailed survey and analysis based on deep and special knowledge. However, landslide susceptibility should also be analyzed with some reliable and simple methods by various people such as government officials and engineering geologists who do not have deep statistical knowledge at the moment of hazards. Therefore, this study suggests an evaluation chart of landslide susceptibility with high reliability drawn by accurate statistical approaches, which the chart can be understood easily and utilized for both specialists and non-specialists. The evaluation chart was developed by a quantification method based on canonical correlation analysis using the data of geology, topography, and soil property of landslides in Korea. This study analyzed field data and laboratory test results and determined influential factors and rating values of each factor. The quantification analysis result shows that slope angle has the highest significance among the factors and elevation, permeability coefficient, porosity, lithology, and dry density are important in descending order. Based on the score assigned to each evaluation factor, an evaluation chart of landslide susceptibility was developed with rating values in each class of a factor. It is possible for an analyst to identify susceptibility degree of a landslide by checking each property of an evaluation factor and calculating sum of the rating values. This result can also be used to draw landslide susceptibility maps based on GIS techniques.

A Study was to delineate the correlation relationship growth factors, a) height and clear-length, b) height and circle of breast height, c) height and circle of ground height, d) height and crown length, of phyllostachys reticulata kock and phyllostachys edulis riv, 2. The formula applied to arrive at correlation coefficient according to correlation table, was $e=\frac{1-{\mu}^2}{\sqrt{\Sigma}X^2y^2}$ the formula for average error was $e=0.6745\frac{1-{\mu}^2}{\sqrt{n}}$ 3. The correlation coefficient and average error by each species were as three tables. 4. Area of the sample plot were 0.5~1 acres. 5. Height, clear-length, circle of breast height, circle of ground height and crown-length of bamboos were measured by weise hypsometer and pole.

A Study on Didactic Transposition of Correlation (상관관계의 교수학적 변환에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of correlation in statistics, secondary mathematics textbooks, foreign mathematics textbooks in point of didactic transposition theory. It is investigated that the relevance and alternative ways of introducing correlation concept without correlation coefficient. In addition, we compare five Korean secondary textbooks and find out characteristics on didactic transposition of correlation. We end pedagogical implications of the analyses presented and general conclusions concerning the didactic transposition of correlation.

  • In this paper, we address the derivation of joint distributions and correlation coefficients for three pairs of statistics used commonly in a number of signal detection schemes. The upper and lower bounds of the correlation coefficients for the three pairs are obtained, and interesting relationships between the correlation coefficients are derived. Explicit values of the correlation coefficients evaluated for some meaningful distributions are given in the form of tables and figures for easy reference. The results in this paper should be useful in comparing various detection statistics.

A Water Surface Detection Method by Correlation Analysis of Watermark Images with Time Interval (시차가 있는 수위표 이미지의 상관분석을 통한 수면측정기법)

  • The aim of this study is to suggest a detection method of water surface location and its evaluation results of application for same vertical position in two successive images with time interval including both staff gauge and water surface. A specific rectangular inspection area is defined from the top of watermark and then the correlation coefficients for the inspection area of the same position of two images with short time interval is calculated. Accordingly, it is possible to identify differences between changing area and fixed area of pixel density by the water flow. The photographs taken in the laboratory were analyzed in order to validate the proposed technique. As the result of the experiment, it is identified that characteristic of correlation coefficients depends on the size of the inspection area. In the case that the inspection area is within the entire width of the watermark, water surface characteristic according to correlation coefficients is clearly noticeable. Thus, it is identified that the proposed technique can be utilized to search water surfaces. Besides, using corelation analysis of two images with time interval, it is identified that error range between 10 and 42cm was reduced in the level of 2.6cm or less in the contaminated photo of existing image stage gauge. Therefore, it is expected that the suggested method can be utilized to enhance image stage gauge performance improving the previous water surface detection method.
