It is known that the ability and habit to "flow" could be one of the important indices to evaluate one's life. And the flow experience of university students who are in the important time transferring from the adolescence to the initial adult period will give an important effect firstly to study one's major and map out one's career path, finally to spread out the high quality life. This study investigated the university students who are in School of Mechatronic Engineering to experience the flow in the learning of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) practice. For this, the flow condition was arranged. And in order to experience the flow in the learning of PLC, lecture plan was established, studying environment was changed and level of difficulty was controlled. Then the implications of the flow were explored by a 5-point Likert scale survey performed to 90 students.
The aim of this study was to assess change of the oral health related quality of life after fixed prosthetic treatment using implant therapy. One hundreds and twenty patients from 3 dental clinics in Seoul, Incheon and Daegu were recruited after verbal consent. The oral health related quality of life by OHIP-14, the treatment satisfaction by North Texas Periodontal Associates and the oral health interest w+ere measured before fixed prosthetic treatment using implant and one months after prosthetics. Total OHIP-14 changed significantly between pre- and post- treatment (p<0.001). Although gender(p=0.01), economic status (p=0.04) and education status (p=0.01) affect to OHIP-14 significantly before treatment, these factors didn't have effects on OHIP-14 after treatment. The subjective satisfaction in masticatory function, social function and psychological function increased significantly after treatment (p<0.001). Besides, the patients' oral health interests increased significantly after treatment (p<0.001). The fixed prosthetic treatment using implant therapy can improve the oral health related quality of life, subjective satisfaction of mastication, social function and psychological function, and oral health interest of dental patients.
With the increasing demand for improving the quality of life of the people, the need for resident-friendly use and management of rivers is increasing. This study develops an indicator that can measure the performance of the multi-faceted function of the river that the general population can appraise, and in particular, the subjective satisfaction of residents. Based on related prior studies and case analysis, a draft indicator system covering maintenance of river facilities for flood control, water use, environment protection, and water-friendly use functions was established. Through a factor analysis adopting PCA extraction method and VARIMAX rotation method and survey, a performance indicator system consisting of three areas, six detailed areas, and 24 items is drawn. Also, the developed indicators are applied to national and local rivers in Daejeon to suggest implications through comparative analysis.

Objective: This study was conducted in order to evaluate an education program for cardio-cerebrovascular high-risk patients. Methods: To evaluate patients' quality of life, EQ-5D was used and an organized survey was conducted via calls and interviews for hypertension, diabetes patients who had visited the KHyDDI(Korea Hypertension Diabetes DaeguInitiative) education center or 70 clinics through out the nation. Results: The subjects included 537 patients, 320 of who were in the clinic education and 217 of who were in the education center program. Sixty eight of the subjects went through the EQ-5D evaluation before and after the education program. In the EQ-5D index distribution of their quality of life before the education program, there was a statistically significant difference in gender(p<0.001) with higher points among males. Regarding age, there was a statistically significant difference between those aged over 65 years and under 65(p<0.001), with higher points in the group under the age of 65. Further, the EQ-5D 5 scope index was statistically significant different before and after receiving the education(p<0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, the KHyDDI staged education program is effective for improving the quality of life. Moreover, it could contribute to the complications of the disease through a variety of approaches by considering both gender and age.
Purpose: This study examined the association of the type and frequency of coffee consumption with the health-related quality of life and metabolic bio-markers in adult men and women from the 2013 ~ 2016 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Methods: A total of 11,201 subjects (4,483 men and 6,718 women) were classified according to the type of coffee consumption (non-coffee, black coffee, 3-in-1 coffee) and type and frequency of coffee consumption (non-coffee, ${\leq}2$ times/day of black coffee, > 2 times/day of black coffee, ${\leq}2$ times/day of 3-in-1 coffee, > 2 times/day of 3-in-1 coffee) using food frequency questionnaires. Dietary nutrient intake data were assessed using food frequency questionnaires. The health-related quality of life was measured using the EuroQol-5 dimension (EQ-5D) and EQ-5D index score. Data on metabolic bio-markers were obtained from a health examination. Results: Among men and women, the proportion of subjects with an energy intake below the estimated energy requirement (EER) was lower among the 3-in-1 coffee consumption group, and the proportion of subjects with iron intakes below the estimated average requirements (EAR) was lower among the 3-in-1 coffee consumption group. Women (OR: 0.810, 95% CI: 0.657 ~ 0.998) with the ${\leq}2$ times/day of 3-in-1 coffee had a lower risk of impaired health-related quality of life (lowest 20% level in the EQ-5D score) compared to the non-coffee consumers after a multivariable adjustment. In both men and women, the type and frequency of coffee consumption was not associated with metabolic bio-markers risk after multivariable adjustment. Conclusion: These results suggest that 3-in-1 coffee consumption may be associated with a lower risk of impaired health-related quality of life and may not be associated with the metabolic bio-markers risk in adult men and women.
Thermal comfort provide satisfaction of thermal environment and affects productivity of occupants in residential building. However, temperature control can not provide the thermal comfort at all the time. because thermal comfort is influenced by many environmental variables such as temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, radiation temperature, activity level and clothing insulation. The purpose of this study is that predicted mean vote(PMV) index is used as control. And, Thermal comfort is evaluated both PMV control and temperature control by simulation. Each other cases were compared, in which set-point temperatures of $22^{\circ}C$ and $24^{\circ}C$ and, set-point PMV index through the respective heating season in the simulation. The results show that PMV control is better to maintain comfort state and save energy than temperature control.
This study verifies the effect of self-awareness on life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety as mental health indicators. An online survey, including self-awareness, life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety, was conducted on 300 adolescents, and the relationship between variables was observed through multiple regression analysis. As a result, adolescents' overall self-awareness significantly affected life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety. Moreover, the effect of self-awareness was confirmed on mental health by dividing it into private, public, and situational self-awareness: life satisfaction was predicted by public and situational self-awareness, while depression and anxiety were predicted through private self-awareness. The result shows that adolescents' self-awareness generally affects their mental health; however, positive and negative emotional factors are differentially affected by different types of self-awareness. This study confirms the importance of self-awareness in the process of improving mental health and quality of life in adolescence.
This paper estimates the health life expectancies for Korean people based on a sample cohort database collected through objective measurements by the National Health Insurance Service. Health life expectancy is estimated using the single-state approach of Sullivan (1971). The 9-order correction factor method of Greville (1945) and Brass-logit model of Brass (1971) are also adopted for unobserved or incompletely observed age-specific morbidity and mortality. Based on the mortality and morbidity estimated from sample cohort DB, men and women in Korea are expected to live a 'healthy life' for 61 and 60 years in 2013, respectively, whereas life expectancies of men and women are 80 and 87, respectively. We also estimate certain disease-free life expectancies for each of genders, income levels, and types of insurance from 2003 to 2013 in Korea. We found that there exists an inequality of healthy life expectancy in Korea for different genders, income levels, and types of insurance.
Recently, public service for the improvement of quality of life and life support such as safety, aging, disaster, welfare, housing, economy, urban environment, traffic etc are actively developed based on open public data, and the spread of the network and the necessity of everyday life, smartphones are playing a role in providing public services. Currently, the development of science is changing the life expectancy of human beings and changing into social structure in which aged people become bigger due to various social conditions and low fertility and aging problems. However, the elderly who do not have easy access to information are very uncomfortable in dealing with mobile devices with very low accessibility and utilization of public services provided by mobile phones. Therefore, this study recategorizes the condition of the elderly presented in the previous study and identifies the problem through case analysis provided for the elderly. Also, we summarize the hierarchy of the core items of the existing interface design and derive it as an improvement index of the public service design for the improvement of the information accessibility of the elderly, and propose a design method to improve the utilization of the public service provided through the mobile device.
Social changes due to ICT like Big Data, IoT, Cloud and Mobile is progressing rapidly. Now, we get out of the old-fashioned frame was measured at the level of the information society through the introduction of PC, Internet speed and Internet subscribers etc and there is a need for a new type of diagnostic information society framework. This study is the study for the framework established to diagnose and measure post-information society. The framework and indicators were chosen in accordance with the technological society coevolution theory and information society-related indicators presented from authoritative international organizations. Empirical results utilizing the indicators and framework developed in this study were as follows: First, the three sectors, six clusters (items), 25 nodes (indicators) that make up the information society showed that all strongly connected. Second, it was diagnosed as information society development (50.34%), technology-based expansion (25.03%) and ICT effect (24.63%) through a network analysis (ANP) for the measurement of importance of the information society. Third, the result of calculating the relative importance of the cluster and nodes showed us (1)social development potential (26.04%), (2)competitiveness (15.9%), (3)ICT literacy (15.5%) (4) (social)capital (24.3 %), (5)ICT acceptance(9.54%), (6)quality of life(8.7%). Consequently, We should take into account the effect of the economy and quality of life beyond ICT infrastructure-centric when we measure the post-information society. By applying the weighting we should performs a comparison between countries and we should diagnose the level of Korea and provide policy implications for the preparation of post-information society.
