A study on the additive characteristics for Stability improvement of Bio-diesel (첨가제에 따른 바이오디젤 산화안정성 특성연구)

  • 바이오디젤이란 식물성 기름, 동물성 지방, 폐식용유 등의 재생 가능한 자원을 촉매 존재 하에 알코올과 반응시켜 생성되는 에스테르 혼합물을 말하며 경유와 물성이 유사하므로 경유에 혼합하여 압축착화 방식인 디젤엔진에 사용할 수 있다. 그러나 바이오디젤은 경유에 비하여 탄소-탄소 간 이중결합을 가지고 있는 성분을 많이 함유하고 있기 때문에 공기에 의해 산화가 일어나기 쉽다. 일반적으로 폐놀계 향산화제인 t-buthylhydroquinone(TBHQ)를 사용하여 산화안정성을 향상시키나 국내에서 사용되는 산화방지제는 전량 수입에 의존하고 있어 제품 개발에 의한 국산화가 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 폐유지로부터 생산한 바이오디젤의 산화안정성 향상을 위하여 폐놀 및 아민계 등의 산화방지제를 합성하여 바이오디젤에 적용하였으며, 다양한 물성시험방법을 적용하여 석유 및 석유대체연료 사업법에서 규정하는 바이오디젤의 품질기준을 확인하였다. 또한 EN 14112 바이오디젤 산화안정성 시험방법으로 폐놀 및 아민계 등의 산화안정성을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 산학연 공동기술개발 1차년도 사업으로 한국화학연구원과 공동으로 수행하였으며, 산화방지제 적용평가를 통해 우수한 제품을 선정하여 2차년도에는 차량 테스트를 통해 연료 첨가제로서의 적합성을 검증할 예정이다.

Effect of Casein Dephosphorylation on Stability of Casein Micelles towards Ethanol (카제인의 탈인산화가 카제인 미셀의 에탄올 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • Various artificial casein micelle systems were prepared from dephosphorylated whole casein, ${\beta}$- or ${\kappa}$-casein and their stabilities towards ethanol were assessed. Ethanol stability was lower in the micelle systems with dephesphorylated whole casein as compared to the artificial micelles prepared from native whole casein, and the stability decreased with the extent of dephosphorylation. The casein micelles with partially dephosphorylated ${\kappa}$-casein had a lower ethanol stability than those with native ${\kappa}$-casein. Ethanol stability of the micelle system with dephosphorylated ${\beta}$-casein decreased as the degree of dephosphorylation increased. Progressive dephosphorylation of caseins in skim milk system resulted in a decrease of the stability towards ethanol. The decrease was less than that in the system with dephosphorylated individual caseins. Increase in pH of the artificial casein micelle systems in the range of $6.3{\sim}7.2$ led to an increased ethanol stability manifesting that the presence of serine phosphates contributes significantly to the stability towards ethanol.

  • The oxidation behaviour of Pinenut(Pinus Koraiensis S & Z) oil during storage were studied. And the oxidative stability of different oil samples by refining stage were also measured. The oil in whole pinenut or mashed pinenut was very stable during the storage at $35^{\circ}C$ for 10 weeks however, the oxidation rate was enhanced when pinenut oil was extracted and isolated from nut cake. On the other hand, crude oil was most stable and the highly purified pinenut oil was least stable, with other samples being intermediate in stability. The changes of fatty acid composition of various pinenut oil samples during storage were also discussed.

  • 한경오염의 증가에 따라 광촉매 물질을 이용한 환경 정화의 필요성이 대두되고 있다 [1]. 광촉매와 전기화학셀은 빛을 이용하여 다른 에너지를 생산하는 능력을 가지고 있다. 이 전기화학셀의 성능향상을 위해서는 적절한 밴드갭을 이용한 광흡수의 증가, 전자재결합의 감소, 전기화학적 반응 표면의 증가가 필요하다. 산화 아연은 잘 알려진 n형 산화물 반도체로서 좋은 전기적 특성과 광촉매 성능으로 전기화학셀에 적합한 소재이다. 그러나 산화 아연은 액체 전해물질 상에서 안정성이 좋지 못하다 [2]. 이를 해결하기 위해 단층 그래핀 혹은 풀러렌(C60)을 이용하여 산화아연을 코팅하는 방법을 제안하였는데, 풀러렌을 사용 시 단층 그래핀에 비하여 전기화학셀의 전기화학적 반응은 높았으나 안정성은 더 떨어지는 모습을 보였다 [3]. 본 연구에서는 다층 그래핀을 이용하여 전기화학적 반응도 높고 안정성도 높은 산화아연-다층 그래핀 양자점의 합성 및 이를 이용한 전기화학셀 소자의 특성을 연구하였다. X선 회절법, 라만 분광법, 투과 전자 현미경, 광발광 분광기, 시간-분해성 광발광 분광기를 이용하여 산화아연-다층 그래핀 양자점의 특성을 분석하였고, 이를 이용하여 광양극을 제작하여 전기화학적 특성을 관측하였으며 로다민 B 염료를 이용한 분해 테스트를 통하여 광촉매 성능을 확인하였고 사이클 테스트를 통하여 안정성을 확인하였다.

Effects of Roasting Process and Antioxidants on Oxidative Stability of Perilla Oils (볶음공정과 산화방지제가 들기름의 산화안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of different concentrations of ${\alpha}-tocopherol,\;{\delta}-tocopherol$, BHA, BHT and TBHQ on the oxidative stability of perilla oils undergoing autoxidation during storage at $50^{\circ}C$ were studied. ${\alpha}-\;and,\;{\delta}-tocopherols$ were added as concentrations of 100, 200, 300 and 400 ppm to the perilla oils from the unroasted seeds or the roasted seeds at $190^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. BHA, BHT and TBHQ were also added to the perilla oils described above as concentrations of 50, 100, 150 and 200 ppm, respectively. The oxidative stability of perilla oils was estimated by the antioxidative index (AI: the induction periods of oils with antioxidants/the induction periods of oils without antioxidants) on the basis of the peroxide values. The roasted perilla seed oil was more stable than the unroasted seed oil in autoxidation. The addition of ${\alpha}-\;and,\;{\delta}-tocopherols$ accelerated the autoxidation of perilla oils. BHA did not show antioxidant effects, but BHT showed very weak antioxidant effects. The autoxidation of perilla oils, however, was effectively prevented by the addition of TBHQ. TBHQ showed activity in preventing 5 times on the autoxidation of perilla oils. Therefore, the oxidation stability of perilla oils seemed to be depend both on the roasting process and the kind of antioxidants.

  • The influence of triglyceride molecular species on autoxidation was investigated by determining the residual molecular species after incubating soybean oil triglycerides. The molecular species of soybean oil triglycerides were analyzed by capillary column gas chromatography and electron impact ionization mass spectrometry utilizing selected ion monitoring. The autoxidative stability of each molecular species in soybean oil triglycerides appeared to decrease in proportion to the increase in the number of double bonds present in the acyl residues, and it was affected by degree of unsaturation of fatty acid when the number of double bonds in triglyceride were the same. And it appeared to be enhanced by a decreases in the length of the saturated acyl chain present in the glycerides.

Surface Modification of Iron Oxide Particle by Silica-contained Materials (실리카계 물질에 의한 산화철 입자의 표면개질)

  • The surface modification of iron oxide particle produced from steel-pickled acid by sodium-contained materials was studied. The molar ratio of $SiO_2$ to $Na_2O$ of sodium silicate was 1, 2, 3.5, respectively. The dispersion stability of iron oxide suspension as functions of amount of silica and pH was evaluated by surface charge and sedimentation velocity of iron oxide particle. Then the amount of sodium silicate was determined to provide a dispersion stability of iron oxide particle above pH 7. Finally, the surface modification of iron oxide particle with sodium silicate as silica-contained materials was done by wet ball milling. In the results of study, the dispersion stability of silica modified iron oxide particle was largely depended on amount of silica and pH together. The untreated iron oxide was unstable at pH 8, i.e. isoelectric point, but, the surface modified iron oxide particle with 0.8wt% silica was stable above pH 5. The dispersion stability was enhanced with 0.2wt% of anionic polyelectrolyte.

  • 훌륭한 전기적 특성을 갖는 ZnO 기반의 산화물 반도체 박막트랜지스터(TFT)는 AMOLEDs에 적용될 수 있다. 하지만 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 산화물 반도체 TFT소자에 전압이 인가되었을 때 문턱 전압이 이동하게 되는 안정성 문제를 갖는다. 따라서 이를 해결하기 위한 연구가 널리 진행 되고 있다. 본 연구소에서는 고압 분위기 열처리를 통해 안정성의 원인으로 작용할 수 있는 산소공공(Oxygen vacancy)을 감소시키는 연구를 진행하였다. 산화물 반도체 TFT소자의 안정성을 향상시키는 대표적인 분위기 열처리로는 산소 고압 열처리(HPA)가 있으며, 또한 H2O 기체를 사용한 열처리를 통해 TFT소자의 안정성을 높일 수 있다는 연구 결과가 보고된 바 있다. 본 연구에서는 IGZO TFT소자에 H2O보다 더 큰 반응성을 갖는 산화제인 H2O2 기체를 사용한 HPA를 통해 positive bias stress(PBS) 및 negative bias illumination stress(NBIS) 조건에서 안정성이 향상됨을 확인하였고 이를 H2O 기체를 사용한 경우와 비교하였다. 그 결과 H2O2 기체를 산화제로 사용할 때 기존 H2O 기체에 비해 효과적인 PBS 및 NBIS 신뢰성 개선을 확인하였다.

  • 옻나무 분말을 급여(4%, 4개월간)한 한우육으로 육포를 제조시 육포의 육색과 지질산화 안정성에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, $37^{\circ}C$에서 5주간 저장 중 옻나무분말 급여육의 육포가 대조구에 비해 저장초기동안 지질산화에 대해 높은 안정성을 보였으며 육색에서도 저장기간 내내 높은 적색도를 보여 아질산염의 감소를 꾀할 수 있으리라 사료된다.

Oxidation Behavior of SiC Coated Carbon/carbon Composite by Pack-cementation Method (Pack-cementation 방법에 의해서 탄화규소로 도포된 탄소/탄소 복합재의 산화거동)

  • Although C/C composites have excellent mechanical properties at high temperature, the disadvantage of oxidation in air restricts their applications. Thus a lot of investments have been studied to improve this drawback. In this study, SiC used as a thermal protective coating material possesses almost the same expansion coefficient compared to that of carbon, so SiC was coated on 4D C/C composites by Pack-Cementation process. For SiC-coated C/C composites, optical microscopy observations were performed to estimate the conversion mechanism involved and air oxidation tests were also performed to evaluate the improvement of oxidation resistance. Afterwards the optimum conditions of coating process were estimated from the results of several analysis and tests.
