Characterization of V/TiO2 Catalysts for Selective Reduction (V/TiO2 촉매의 선택적 촉매 환원 반응특성 연구)

  • The present work studied the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO to $N_2$ by $NH_3$ over $V/TiO_2$ focusing on NOx control for the stationary sources. The SCR process depends mainly on the catalyst performance. The reaction characteristics of SCR with $V/TiO_2$ catalysts were closely examined at low and high temperature. In addition, adsorption and desorption characteristics of the reactants on the catalyst surface were investigated with ammonia. Seven different $TiO_2$ supports containing the same loading of vanadia were packed in a fixed bed reactor respectively. The interaction between $TiO_2$ and vanadia would form various non-stoichiometric vanadium oxides, and showed different reaction activities. There were optimum calcination temperatures for each samples, indicating different reactivity. It was finally found from the $NH_3-TPD$ test that the SCR activity was nothing to do with $NH_3$ adsorption amount.

  • TiO2는 3가지의 결정구조를 가지고 있으며 결정 입자, 구조, 상의 형태에 따라서 성질 및 기능에 영향을 주고 있다. anatase상의 애너지 밴드갭과 전자와의 재결합 확률이 크기 때문에 Rutile상 보다 우수한 성질을 갖고 있어 산화물 반도체로 이용하는 것이 적합하다. 본 실험에서는 나노로드의 TiO2를 수열처리법에 의해 합성한 후 박막을 제조하여 감응특성을 조사하였다. X선 회절분석기(X-Ray Diffraction)로 분석결과 ph=1의 루타일상을 제외하고, pH=2~7의 더 넓은 구간에서 뚜렷한 회절피크의 anatase 상이 나타났으며 다른 비정질상이 발생되지 않는 결정성이 좋은 단결정임이 나타났다. NaOH solution 을 이용하여 수열처리후 $180^{\circ}C$이상의 특정 온도 구간에서 수십 나노 로드 형태로의 2차 성장된 모습을 TEM과 EDS로 결정구조와 화학조성을 분석하였다. 그리고 BET 측정을 통해 $180^{\circ}C$의 소성온도에서 TiO2 입자의 비표면적이 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 나노로드의 수용액을 Al2O3기판의 감지막 위에 떨어뜨려 네트워크된 막을 형성한후에 센서를 제작하였다. 히터 전압이 $400^{\circ}C$에서 나노 파우더센서에서는 반응이 일어나지 않은 반면, 나노 로드센서는 CH3SH에서 28% 의 높은 감도를 얻었고, Toluene의 반응에서는 15%의 감도가 나타났다. 그 외 NO, CO, H2등의 측정에서 아무런 반응이 일어나지 않았다. 이는 비교적 기공이 큰분자(Size)를 가진 CH3SH=76nm, Toluene=60nm에서 반응이 일어난 반면, H2=28nm, CO=22nm에서 감도가 나타나지 않은 것을 보아 흡착분자크기에 의한 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purposed of this study was to investigate the effect of Gold bonding agent as intermediate layer between metal substrate and ceramic coating. Gold bonding agent used to seal off any surface porosity, to mask the greyish color of the metal, and to provide an underlying bright golden hue to the ceramic coverage. The adhesion between metal substrate and ceramic is related to diffusion of oxygen during ceramic firing. The oxide layer produced on non-precious alloy anti titanium was considered to have a potentially adverse effect on metal-ceramic bonding. The oxidation characteristics of titanium and non-precious alloys are the main problem. Every group were divided into test and control groups. Control groups are carried out process of degassing for product oxide layer. Au coating was applied on each Ni-Cr, Co-Cr alloys and cp-Ti specimens with difference surface condition or degassing. Specimens surfaces and cutting plane was characterized by SEM/EDS. Results suggested that Au coating is effective barriers to protect metal oxidation during ceramic firing.

Parallel pattern fabrication on metal oxide film using transferring process for liquid crystal alignment (전사 공정을 이용한 산화막 정렬 패턴 제작과 액정 배향 특성 연구)

  • We demonstrate an alternative alignment process using transferring process on solution driven HfZnO film. Parallel pattern is firstly fabricated on a silicon wafer by laser interference lithography. Prepared HfZnO solution fabricated by sol-gel process is spin-coated on a glass substrate. The silicon wafer with parallel pattern is placed on the HfZnO film and annealed at $100^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. After transferring process, parallel grooves on the HfZnO film is obtained which is confirmed by atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Uniform liquid crystal alignment is achieved which is attributed to an anisotropic characteristic of HfZnO film by parallel grooves. The liquid crystal cell exhibited a pretilt angle of $0.25^{\circ}$ which showed a homogeneous alignment property.

  • SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) is often used for ship construction or welding pressure vessels and involves spraying a flux in a powder form to a welding site to a certain thickness and continuously supplying electrode wires therein. This welding method enables high current welding up to 1,500 to 3,000 A. Arc efficiency is higher than 95% and the technique allows clean work as it creates less welding fume, which is composed of fine metal oxide particles, and the arc beam is not exposed. In this study, SM490C-TMC thick plates were heterogeneously welded by SAW. Mechanical properties of welds were measured, and welds were assessed macroscopically and for adhering magnetic particles. The following conclusions were drawn. Bending tests showed no spots exploded on sample surfaces or any other defect, and plastic deformation testing confirmed sufficient weld toughness. These results showed the 1F welding method has no shortcomings in terms of bending performance.

Application of Reused Powdered Waste Containing Aluminum Oxide on the Treatment of Cr(VI) (6가 크롬 처리를 위한 알루미늄 산화물을 함유한 재생 분말 폐기물의 적용)

  • In this research, the removal capacity of Cr(VI) by the reused powdered wastes (RPW) containing aluminium oxides was studied. As a pre-treatment process for the preparation of calcined wastes, calcination was conducted at $550^{\circ}C$ to remove organic fraction in the raw wastes. In order to study the adsorption trend of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions, the pH-edge adsorption, adsorption kinetic and adsorption isotherm were investigated using a batch reactor in the presence of four different background electrolytes($NO_3\;^-,\;CO_3\;^{2-},\;SO_4\;^{2-},\;PO_4\;^{3-}$). Cr(VI) adsorption was greatly reduced in the presence of $SO_4\;^{2-}$ and $PO_4\;^{3-}$ over the entire pH range. Meanwhile the inhibition effect by $NO_3\;^-$ and $CO_3\;^{2-}$ was relatively lower than that by $SO_4\;^{2-}$ and $PO_4\;^{3-}$. Cr(VI) adsorption was maximum around pH 4.5 in the presence of $NO_3\;^-$ and $CO_3\;^{2-}$. As the concentration of background electrolytes increased, Cr(VI) adsorption decreased. This result mightly suggests that adsorption between the surface of RPW and Cr(VI) occurs through outer-sphere complex. Cr(VI) adsorption onto the RPW was well described by second-order kinetics. From the Langmuir isotherm at initial pH 3, the maximum adsorbed amount of Cr(VI) onto the RPW was 11.1, 10, 3.3, 5 mg/g in the presence of $NO_3\;^-,\;CO_3\;^{2-},\;SO_4\;^{2-}$, and $PO_4\;^{3-}$, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the electrochemical properties develop DSA electrode for sewage sludge solubilization. Using Ir as a main catalyst, the catalyst selected for the sewage sludge solubilization durability and proceeds to functional electrode suitable for sewage sludge electrolysis experiment were obtained the following results. Less mass reduction of the sintering temperature of the main catalyst, Ir coated electrodes, the endothermic reaction zone $300^{\circ}C$ to $500^{\circ}C$, which was selected from a range of experiments. The efficiency of the catalyst results came up to $350^{\circ}C$ best. Each Binder stars (Ta, Sn, W) in this experiment was the biggest catalyst efficiency at $350^{\circ}C$. Used as a binder, $TaCl_5$, $SnCl_4$, $WCl_6$ of the Ta and without affecting the other characteristics of the main catalyst than Sn, W. For the 50% $IrO_2$ electrode is 1.4 V (vs. Ag / AgCl) in a current of about $29mA/cm^2$ was caused to evaluate the effectiveness of the electrode.

Theoretical Proposal for the Mix Design of Recycled Cement Utilizing Inorganic Construction Wastes (무기계 건설폐기물을 이용한 재생시멘트 배합설계에 관한 이론적 제안)

  • Until now, the construction material industry has been recognized as a typical environmental destruction industry. However, recently, in order to reduce $CO_2$ emission, the main cause of environmental problems, lots of studies have been done about recycling industrial by-products and construction wastes. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to confirm whether it is possible to use as an alternative material in cement production process as a part of the development of recycled cement using an inorganic construction waste. For this study, the inorganic construction wastes was collected and analyzed each chemical component by XRF(X-ray Fluorescene). Also, the inorganic construction wastes were combined based on the chemical component of the cement, to perform this analysis. As a result, when the inorganic construction wastes was properly combined, it is possible to consider the development of the recycled cement used the inorganic construction wastes.

Preparation and Characterization of New NiO-ZrO2/WO3 Catalyst for Ethylene Dimerization (에틸렌 이량화를 위한 새로운 NiO-ZrO2/WO3촉매의 제조와 특성)

  • A series of catalysts, $NiO-ZrO_2/WO_3$, for ethylene dimerization were prepared by coprecipitation from a solution of nickel chloride - zirconium oxychloride mixture followed by dry impregnation with an aqueous solution of ammonium metatungstate and calcination in air. On the basis of the results obtained from x-ray diffraction and DSC, the addition of NiO and $WO_3$ to $ZrO_2$ shifted the transition of $ZrO_2$ from amorphous to a tetragonal phase toward higher temperatures due to the interaction between NiO(or $WO_3$) and $ZrO_2$. $NiO-ZrO_2$ without $WO_3$ was inactive for the ethylene dimerization, but $NiO-ZrO_2/WO_3$ was found to be very active even at room temperature. The high catalytic activity of $NiO-ZrO_2/WO_3$ was closely correlated with the increase of acid strength by the inductive effect of $WO_3$.

Characteristics of Sintered Composites for $ZnO-{B_2}{O_3}-{SiO_2}-PbO$ Glass and $ZrB_2$Powders ($ZnO-{B_2}{O_3}-{SiO_2}-PbO$계 유리와 $ZrB_2$분말의 소결체의 특성)

  • Devitrifiable solder glass/$ZrB_2$ sintered composites were prepared by using glass with the composition of $60ZnO-20B_2O_3-10SiO_2-10PbO$(in wt%) and $ZrB_2$, powder as starting materials under the $N_2$atmosphere. $ZrB_2$which the good conduction materials showed sensitive oxidation characteristics, because some parts of the $ZrB_2$in specimens changed into the insulated phase of $ZrO_2$. These Phenomena would be estimated that it caused a few amount of residual oxygen in the furnace and/or specimens and the coordination number change of $B_2O_3$ in the glass. The sintering temperature and the mixed ratios of each phase were control of large ranged the resistivity ranged from 10 to 10$^{3}{\Omega}/cm^2$ orders, and to make a conductible microstructure. From these results, it would be explained that the conduction path of $ZrB_2$particles built up within sintered glass matrix.
