A Study on the Creative Industry Population Based on Different Spatial and Non-Spatial Urban Structure (공간적·비공간적 도시구조 변화에 따른 창조산업 인구 연구)

  • A number of cities have been constantly decreasing their residents by the low quality of life and environment. A creative industry is being noticed for not only securing the competitiveness of the city but also increasing the number of population. Thus, the urban structure for inducing creative industry population becomes to major issue to the most of local governments. This study aims to suggest the relationships between urban structure and creative industry population based on different urban sizes. To measure the population of creative industry, this study used the 'National Business Survey' by the National Statistical Office, which classified the statistical data of industrial places on a basis of city, district, and borough. Based on the results of expert questionnaire surveys, it conducted an analysis on the importance of urban structure and drew some critical factors that have an important effect on attracting the population of creative industry. The relationships between creative industry population and urban structure evaluated by multiple regression analysis. This study found out that the cultural factors like cultural space or culture events were drawn as very significant factors that have a positive effect on the population of creative industry population. It is judged that the creation of culture environment, which can enrich the creative industry, is needed to strengthen the competitiveness of the cities.

An Empirical Study for the Growth of the Logistics Industry of Jeon-buk Area (전라북도 물류산업육성을 위한 실태조사 연구)

  • Jeon-buk is well equipped for the growth of the logistics industry as it is the center of inland and marine traffic. However, it was not activated because of the infrastructure insufficiency. This paper surveyed the logistics industry facilities, interviewed people who are engaged in its business, researched into their business difficulties and the problem of the logistics industry of Jeon-buk. As a result of research, this paper makes an alternative plan for the development of the logistics industry of Jeon-buk area.

  • The Old Town of Daejeon has significantly gone down due to population decrease and vacancy of buildings. To resolve these problems, it is necessary to develop revitalization measures with unique features, but it is also important to use historical and cultural resources from a certain point for the regeneration of local community. The Old Town of Daejeon has a number of industrial structures and architectural heritages that give character to the spaces, but most of them are being impoverished without any use although they have universal value. This study examined the standards to evaluate the importance and value of modern industrial heritages as historical resources that contributed to the development of local community and discussed case studies to review the value and use of industrial heritages that laid the foundation of Daejeon's development as a modern city to address the needs for urban regeneration through preservation and use of modern industrial heritages. Also, the limitations of administrative efforts were identified and the solutions were sought to address the needs to gather efforts with local government offices and the private sector. In conclusion, this study suggests an active and open policies to use cultural heritages through the use of modern industrial heritages for the revitalization of local communities based on the study of policies for the communication of urban users and community cultural spaces, preservation of landscapes including industrial heritages, and preservation in connection to social organizations and social companies, and that it is necessary to provide policies followed by efforts, i.e., to arbitrate the owners.

  • The fisheries industry is rapidly shifting from a traditional fishery to aquaculture paradigm and it faces various problems such as depletion of fishery resources and aging of fishing villages. We need the establishment of a fisheries big data platform that includes both the data of the central and surrounding industries of the fisheries industry for enhancement of establishment of a fisheries, 6th industrialization of fishing villages, establishment of related technical standards, and discovery of the new industries to overcome this. Data center agencies should collect, link, and pre-processing, and the platform organizer should create a water industry data virtuous circle through the establishment, operation, and data market of big data platforms to help overcome the current crisis, secure smart fisheries hegemony, and use it as a key to value transfer. Through this study, I would like to propose a policy and technical big data platform construction plan to successfully promote it.

Impacts of Immigrant Workers on Regional Economy in S. Korea (이주노동자의 유입이 지역경제에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently international movements of labour as well as those of goods and other production elements such as capitals and technology have been increased rapidly under the process of glocalization. The huge amount of immigrant workers' in-flows makes increasing influences on regional economy in South Korea. This paper examines such impacts of immigrant workers on local labor markets, productivity. and industrial composition and innovation on the basis of analysis of empirical data and review of existing literature on the subject. Despite a problem of simplification, some reasoning can be listed as follows: First of all, the inflow of immigrant workers has an effect of job displacement among domestic simple workers, with duel effects on the status of native workers; secondly, Immigrant workers give a positive effect on local productivity, but only with low level of wage and of purchasing power; thirdly, the in-flow of immigrant workers seems to prevent existing industries from transformation towards new ones and/or from automation and innovation of production facilities, while there seems no clear relationship with foreign direct investments of local firms.

자동차 분야의 CALS/EC 구축 방향

  • 이미 전자상거래(EC)가 시간적ㆍ공간적 제약을 극복하고 국경을 초월한 새로운 교역시장 (Cyber Market)으로 등장하고 있으며 세계 자동차 산업은 표준부품의 공동개발 및 조달을 통해 중복투자 방지, 신차개발기간 단축 등 전략적 제휴를 통한 공조ㆍ공생체계 구축을 경쟁적으로 추진하고 있으나 국내 자동차업계는 제품개발, 부품조달, 판매 및 A/S 등 모든 부문을 독자적으로 해결함으로써 경쟁력 제고에 역행하는 경향이 있다. 또한 자동차 선진국과는 달리 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위한 CALS/EC 정보 기반 기술의 실질적인 활용이 미흡한 실정이다. 이러한 현실을 개선하기 위해 최근에 자동차공업협회(KAMA)와 현대, 대우, 기아 자동차 3사는 자동차 산업 CALS 추진 모델(Autopia)의 구축을 추진하고 있다. 추진 내용은 자동차 산업의 전체 Life-Cycle인 제품기획 단계부터 설계, 생산, 구매/조달, 고객지원 단계등 전 분야를 3개 부문(신차개발 프로세스, 구매조달 프로세스, 고객지원 서비스)으로 구분되어 있다. 신차개발 프로세스 부문은 차세대 PDM을 통하여 제품개발 사이클 단축을 추구하며 STEP을 통한 범용적 설계정보 교환 체계 구현이 기반이 된다. 또한 업무 흐름의 불투명성으로 인한 업무의 불균형 현상 타파와 설계 변경의 효율적 대응을 위하여 Workflow Management가 동시공학에 바탕을 두고 도입 적용되어야 한다. CAD 데이터를 비롯한 방대한 데이터의 효율적 관리를 위해서는 각 프로세스별로 독립된 정보를 체계적으로 관리할 수 있는 통합 환경(Integrated Data Environment)을 구성하여 각 프로세스에 걸쳐 데이터의 처리효율을 증대하여야 한다. 신차개발 부문의 핵심 기술이면서도 현업 적용이 초기 단계인 Digital Mockup과 Virtual Reality의 적용을 위해서는 3D 모델링이 기본 설계 방법으로 적용되어야 하며 이를 통한 어셈블리 및 부품구조의 관리가 이루어져야 한다. 구매조달 프로세스 부문은 자동차 업계의 공통 EDI/EC 네트워크 구축을 통한 경제적인 인프라 구조와 함께 부품 조달 체계의 간소화를 추구함으로써 자동차 산업의 대외 경쟁력 강화가 이루어 질 수 있다. 공개구매 시스템의 구축을 통하여 완성차별로 전속 계열화된 수직적인 부품조달 체계와 업체간 정보공유의 폐쇄성을 제거할 수 있고 완전 경쟁에 의한 우량 협력업체 발굴 기회의 확대가 용이하다. 이를 통하여 궁극적으로는 Global Vendor망의 구축이 실현될 것이다. 종합물류 시스템이 구현되면 판매는 경쟁체제, 물류는 공동화가 됨으로써 국가적으로 물류 비용의 절감이 엄청날 것으로 예상된다. 전국에 산재되어 있는 1,000여개의 대리점과 7,000여개의 정비업소를 대상으로 한 정비부품 EDI/EC 시스템이 구축되면 고객 서비스의 효율 향상과 함께 정비업소의 물류 및 재고 비용의 감소, 조달 속도의 향상, 조달 업무의 간소화 등의 효과를 보게 될 것이다. 고객지원 서비스는 정비정보 시스템, 산업정보 시스템, 쇼핑몰 시스템, 등록대행 시스템등을 통하여 일반 국민들이 피부로 느낄 수 있는 시스템으로 구축 되어야 할 것이다.

The New Urbanization Process and Changing Spatial Structure of Seoul (서울의 신도시화 과정과 공간구조의 변화)

  • This study is to consider economic, political, socio-cultural and environmental characteristics of the new urbanization process and its spatial structures and urban policy of Seoul in the 1990s. Some experimental findings which have been identified throughout this study can be summarized as follows. First of all, Seoul, the largest city in S.Korea has experienced a restructuring process of economy, which has been promoted by the development of producer services as well as knowledge- based or high tech industries. Secondly, the autonomy of Seoul has increased after the introduction of local self-government, with relatively higher self-management of local finance than other cities, strengthening the tendency of enterpreneurialism, empowering civil movements, and increasing the political participation of women. Thirdly, in the socio-cultural aspect, the material wants to gain a certain identity through consumption, using urban environments culturally, varying consuming attitudes and ways of leisure times in relation with the rapid development of transportation and information communication. Fourthly, in the environmental aspect, Seoul has tried to introduce the concept of sustainable development in terms of increasing wants on the quality of life, and to develop a pro-environmental eco-city with environmental rehabilitation, constructing green space and eco-park. Finally, in the spatial dimension, Seoul has shown a structuration of multi-centers, with highly spectacular urban landscapes and seemingly authentic urban planning. These results make us confirm that Seoul has been in the process of new urbanization which can be distinguished from the previous one.

  • This paper proposed several activation strategies at both the government and company parts for the development of domestic third party logistics(TPL) to pull electronic trade era much earlier. In the government side, it must need to arrange and integrate complex regulation rules on the Logistics for more smooth access and use the TPL market. Also, it has to provide multiple support policies such as tax reduction, technical and financial service providing, and logistics information system to TPL. Finally, it should construct the government levels education system to train and forster a competent man who is well qualified as a electronic and logiscic expert. The TPL company must build up a total logistics information system concerned with an innovative operation system such as SCM, JIT etc. which can provide logistic services on demand to the electronic trade customers to maximize consumer satisfaction. In the shipper company level, it try to join a long-term strategic alliance with TPL to reduce logistic cost and increase logistic service to its electronic trade consumers.

  • It is a known fact that the spread of multiplexes has contributed to movie industry flourish and extending public rights for enjoying movies. However, in terms of Urban Discourse, Multiplexes centered in new downtown have given rise to Doughnut Phenomena in old downtown. It is especially regrettable that the local theaters which have been symbolic cultural spaces storing the 'memory of life' of local communities are disappearing due to a recession of business zone in old downtown. Japan has long been worked in various activities spotlighting on movie/image contents as the major means of creative urban regeneration. Among them, the 'Community Cinema' has made a contribution to regional revitalization by improving movie screening environment of the local community through renewal of local theaters and further creating related culture and industry in the local area. In this study, I focus on 'Fukaya Cinema' which started from NPO(Non-Profit Organization) and reused a closed industrial facility to a movie theater in cooperation with local TMO(Town Management Organization). Fukaya Cinema, which operates in the form of a business community, plays important roles as the core cultural facility in the local community and is regarded as a significant case showing a possibility of urban regeneration using movie/image contents. I investigate the specific founding process and activities of Fukaya Cinema and intend to derive the implications from that. Through this, I aim to provide the basic urban regeneration data utilizing movie/media contents.

A Study of the Effects of Overseas Direct Investment on Trade in Korea's Manufacturing Industry (한국 제조업 부문 해외직접투자의 수출입유발효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to analyse whether outward foreign direct investment(FDI) by Korean manufacturers has a positive or negative effect on the nation's exports and imports. It provides a comprehensive analysis using both micro and macro approaches to overcome the limitations of the previous studies. In its micro-analysis, this study analyzed the impact of the outstanding outward FDI stock and other related factors on net export/import creation using panel data of 589 overseas affiliates of Korean manufacturers during the period of 2006 to 2011. And in the macro-analysis, the study analyzed the impact of outward FDI on exports using panel data of 23 manufacturing sectors during the period of 2000 to 2011. As a result of empirical study, contrary to the results of most previous studies, Korea's export can be negatively affected when it's manufacturing companies increase their outward FDI and localize their overseas businesses.
