Characteristics of Oxygen Permeation on $YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ Ceramic Membrane ($YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ 세라믹 분리막의 산소투과 특성)

  • $YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ oxide was synthesized by solid state reaction and a typical dense membrane has been prepared using as-prepared powder by unilateral pressing and sintering at $1,180^{\circ}C$. The $YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ membraneswas analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). XRD analysis showed the double layered perovskite structure was observed over $1,150^{\circ}C$ without impurities. Oxygen permeation was measured in the temperature range from 750 to $950^{\circ}C$ according to oxygen partial pressure difference between feed and permeation side. The oxygen permeation flux increased with increasing temperature and oxygen partial pressure and the maximum oxygen flux of $YBaCo_2O_{5+{\delta}}$ membrane with 1.0 mm thickness was about 0.15 mL/$cm^2{\cdot}min$ at $950^{\circ}C$ and $PO_2$ = 0.42 atm. The activation energy for oxygen permeation decreased with decreasing oxygen partial pressure to be 76.0 kJ/mol at the condition of $PO_2$ = 0.21 atm.

Properties of $Fe_2O_3$-doped $SnO_2$ Oxides for CO Sensor (CO 센서용 $Fe_2O_3$를 첨가한 $SnO_2$ 산화물의 특성)

  • The material properties of $SnO_2$ were investigated as a function of the amount of $Fe_2O_3$, the partial pressure of oxygen, the concentration of CO gas, and temperature. $Fe_2O_3$-doped $SnO_2$ thick films were prepared by the screen printing technique on alumina substrate. The specimens sintered at $700^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours showed little difference of the grain size and narrow distribution with the content of $Fe_2O_3$. The electrical conductance of undoped $SnO_2$ is high at low firing temperature and at low partial pressure of oxygen. The electrical conductance of $Fe_2O_3-$-doped $SnO_2$ is increased with measurement temperature, but decreased with the content of $Fe_2O_3$. The dependence of oxygen partial pressure is decreased with dopant addition. The highest sensitivity and the good properties of response speed and repeatability for CO gas were observed on the specimen with 0.1 mol% $Fe_2O_3$ at $350^{\circ}C$.

  • MLCC의 주재료인 $BaTiO_3$는 금속전극의 산화를 방지하기 위해 환원분위기에서 소결하는데 이는 비화학양론적 조성 및 전기적 성질, 결함 그리고 상의 변화를 가져온다. 본 연구에서는 상의 변화를 다양한 온도 범위에서 BaO 또는 $TiO_2$를 첨가시킨 $BaTiO_3$ powder을 가지고 급냉시킨 후 이를 X-선 회절 분석을 통하여 이들의 이차상 형성 여부 등을 조사하였다. $1320^{\circ}C$에서는 $TiO_2$의 고용도가 BaO의 고용도에 비해 상당히 큰 값을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 이런 결과를 바탕으로 Ba/Ti 비, 산소분압 및 온도에 따른 $BaTiO_3$의 전기전도도 거동에 의하면, 고용범위내에서 BaO 첨가량이 증가할수록 전기전도도의 최소점은 낮은 산소분압쪽으로 이동함을 관찰하였으며 이는 $Ti^{4+}$빈자리에 따른 산소빈자리가 형성되는 결함 모델로 설명되어진다.

  • The culture conditions and cell composition of a hydrogen bacterica, Alcaligenes eutrophus ATCC 17697. were investigated. Optimum pH and temperature for cell growth under autotrophic condition ($H_2$ as energy source, $CO_2$, as crabon source) were around 7.0 and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. Effect of oxygen partial pressure in the range of 0.059 atm and 0.27 atm on cell growth was also studied. Maximum specific growth rate $({\mu}max=0.31hr^{-1})$ was observed at 0.11 atm of oxygen partial pressure $(H_2:O_2:CO_2=7:1:1)$. The contents of crude protein, nucleic acid and ash in cells were 69.2%, 17.6%, and 3.62%, respectively.

  • The defect structure of calcium titanates with CaO excess or $TiO_2$ excess was studied by measuring electrical conductivities as a funcition of oxygen partial pressure at $85O^{\circ}C$ to $1050^{\circ}C$. Execess CaO may divide itself equally between A and B sites, resulting in $Ca_{Ti}$" and Vo", while excess $TiO_2$ form $V_{Ca}$" and Vo". The equilibrium electrical conductivity data indicate that the solubilities of CaO and $TiO_2$ in $CaTiO_3$ are 5000ppm and 2000ppm, respectively. Oxygen vacancies contributed to the ionic conduction which flatten the conductivity minima and did not make any defect association with oppositely charged defects.ely charged defects.

  • ZnO films have been deposited on oxide grown Si wafers by the conventional thermal evaporation method. Anhydrous zinc acetate was directly heated and sublimed in the laboratory-made brass boat. The substrates temperature varied from $200^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$. Oxygen has been flowed into the deposition chamber to change the partial pressure of oxygen. The films deposited at high oxygen pressure exhibited higher resistivity than films at low pressure. X-Ray Diffraction(XRD), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy(EDS) and Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) were conducted on the films to reveal the crystallinity and composition of the ZnO films. The ZnO films deposited at high oxygen pressure were extremly sensitive to the humidity of higher than 70 % RH.

  • We prepared $TiO_2$ thin films by electron-beam evaporation at various oxygen pressures, and investigated their optical and structural properties as a function of the annealing temperature. The physical properties of the $TiO_2$ thin films depend upon the injection oxygen content. With the increased injection of oxygen, the phase transformation temperature and the transmittance of $TiO_2$ thin films in the range of visible wavelength were increased. For low injection of oxygen, the absorption edges of $TiO_2$ thin films were more red-shifted when annealed at temperatures from $700^{\circ}C$ to $1100^{\circ}C$.

  • 각기 녹색, 적색의 발광특성플 갖는 $ZnGa_20_4:Mn,{\;}CaTi0_3:Pr$을 rf 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 박막을 제조하였다. 박막증착변수가 성장특성 및 발광특성에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 산소분압 및 기판온도조건에 따라서 결정화 및 발광특성이 크게 달라짐을 확인할수 있었다. 열처리후에는 진공분위기보다는 $N_2$가스분위기에서 열처리를 한 시편이 발광특성이 우수하 게 나타났으며, 기판의 종류에 따라서 박막의 성장기구와 발광특성이 다르며, 특히 결정질의 기판이 형광체 박막 합성에 적합함을 알 수 있었다.

  • The temperature-corrected values of blood gas analysis were compared to uncorrected values in 40 cases of open heart surgery under moderate hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass. The results were as follows. 1. The corrected value of pH was significantly higher than uncorrected value, and it's relationship was ${\Delta}pH=-0.015$ ${\Delta}Temp+0.005$(r=0.81, P<(0.01). 2. The corrected value of $PCO_2$ was lower than uncorrected value, and it's relationship was ${\Delta}PCO_2=1.11$ ${\Delta}Temp+1.81$(r=0.50, P<0.01). 3. The corrected value of $PO_2$ was lower than uncorrected value, and it' s relationship was ${\Delta}PO_2=5.21$ ${\Delta}Temp-1.45$(r=0.32, P<0.01). But there was no clinical significance. 4. The corrected values of $HCO_{3^-}$, base excess, $CO_2$ content and oxygen saturation were similar with uncorrected values. In summery, the values of pH and $PCO_2$were significantly changed by temperature-correction. Because of the neutral point of water (pH=pOH) rises as temperature falls and it change in parallel with the changes in blood pH, a corrected pH of 7.4, $PaCO_2$ of 40mmHg during deep hypothermia would reflect a profound respiratory acidosis. Therefore, the use of the uncorrected value at $37^{\circ}C$ is more preferable and valid means of assessing acid-base management regardless of actual patient temperature.

  • The reversible oxygenation of a solid stae polymeric cobalt(II) porphyrin complex, PVP-CoTPP was studied at 0, -24 and $-78^{\circ}C$. When PVP-CoTPP was contacted with $O_2 $at$-78^{\circ}C$ the oxygen uptake increased with oxygen partial pressure. At about 700mmHg $O_2$, the amount of oxygen taken up corresponded approximately one oxygen molecule to one Co(II) complex. The amount of $O_2$ taken up by PVP-CoTPP decreased with increasing temperature. When $16O_2$ was admitted to the Co(II) complex a EPR signal corresponding to $O_2^-$ increased with a decrease in Co(II) signal. The results suggest that an electron is transfered from Co(II) in PVP-CoTPP to oxygen forming a $Co(III)-O_2^-$ complex where $O_2^- $is superoxide type.
