Broadband Microstrip Y-Junction Circulator (광대역 마이크로스트립 Y형 써어큘레이터)

  • Broadband operation of Y-junction microstrip circulator withlnonreciprocal device is predicteg by Rosenbaum using Bosma's Green function analysis. The anslysis has been modified to enable the scattering matrix and therefore the circulator bandwidth, to be found. The width of the coupling transmission lines is found to be a significant design parameter${\psi}$. A comparison of experimental and theoretical results for the 3-port junction shows that wide lines and a smaller 7.5U than usual disk radius can be used to obtain broadband operation. Circulator operates in the frequency band 5-11 GHz. The obtained maximum insertion loss is 0.5dB and the isolation is more than 15dB.

Theory of Acoustic Propagation in 3 Dimensional Wedge Domain (3차원 쐐기형 영역에서의 음향파 전달 이론)

  • Three components contribute to the acoustic field propagating in a wedge or over a ridge : a direct path arrival, an image component due to reflection from the boundaries and a component diffracted by the apex. All three contributions are included in a new, exact solution of the Helmholtz equation for the three-dimensional time harmonic field from a point source in a wedge(or over a ridge) formed by two intersecting, pressure-release plane boundaries. The solution is obtained by applying three integral transforms, and consists of and infinite sum of uncoupled normal nodes. The mode coefficients are given by a finite integral involving a Gegenbauer polynomial in the integrand, which may be computed relatively efficiently. Results of the theory for propagation over a 90 degree ridge is discussed.

  • This paper presents a design of 12㎓ VCBRO(voltage controlled dielectric resonator oscillator) using a novel PBG(photonic band gap) ground plane and a varactor circuit that enhances the frequency linearity of VCO with different bias to varactors. The PBG structures are used for suppressing the second and third harmonics without any filters. To simulate the accurate resonating frequency, a DR coupled with microstrip lines is analysed by FTM(finite element method) simulation, and the results are transformed into scattering parameters to design the VCO. Some measured results are presented to show the usefulness of the proposed techniques.

  • The ray effects of finite volume method (FVM) or discrete ordinate method (DOM) are known to show a non-physical oscillation in solution of radiative heat transfer on a boundary. This wiggling behavior is caused by the finite discretization of the continuous control angle. This article proposes a combined procedure of the Monte-Carlo and finite-volume method (CMCFVM) for solving radiative heat transfer in absorbing, emitting, and an-isotropically scattering medium with an isolated boundary heat source. To tackle the problem, which is especially pronounced in a medium with an isolated heat source, the CMCFVM is suggested here and successfully applied to a two-dimensional circular geometry.

질화물계 발광다이오드의 광추출효율 향상을 위한 $TiO_2$ 나노 패턴 형성에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 질화물계 발광 다이오드의 광추출효율을 향상시키기 위해서 Bi-layer나노 임프린트 리소그래피와 Lift-off 공정을 이용하여 ITO투명전극 층 상부에 TiO2 나노 패턴을 형성하였다. 발광 다이오드의 투명전극 층 상부에 UV 나노 임프린트 리소그래피를 이용하여 주기적인 폴리머 패턴을 형성한 후 폴리머 패턴 상부에 RF magnetron Sputtering 공법을 이용하여 TiO2를 증착하고 Lift-off 공정을 이용하여 TiO2 나노 패턴을 제작하였다. 그 결과를 주사전사 현미경(SEM)으로 확인한 결과 임프린트 스탬프와 동일한 나노 패턴이 질화물 계 발광다이오드 투명 전극층 표면에 주기적으로 형성되었다. TiO2 나노 패턴 형성을 통한 광추출 효율의 향상 효과를 확인하기 위해 Electroluminescence (EL) 측정한 결과 TiO2 나노 패턴이 형성된 발광다이오드 소자의 EL 강도가 나노 패턴이 없는 발광다이오드와 비교하여 12% 정도 향상 되었음을 보였고, 이는 고 굴절율 나노 패턴이 활성층에서 발생된 빛의 산란 효과를 유도하여 빛의 내부 전반사를 감소시킨 결과로 해석된다. 또한 소자의 전기적 특성평가를 위한 I-V 측정결과, TiO2 나노 패턴이 형성된 발광 다이오드의 전기적 성질이 저하되지 않았음을 확인하였다.

  • The present study considers the thermal structure variation in a porous medium caused by changing the most important radiative property of porous medium, absorption coefficient, as well as altering the physical dimension of porous medium and the equivalence ratio of premixed gas mixture. The radiation model was introduced as an unsteady differential form using the two-flux gray radiation model. The role of the conductive heat transfer through both gas phase and porous medium was found to be almost insignificant compared with that of the radiative heat transfer. The reaction zone shifted upstream and the flame thickness decreased as either the geometrical length of porous medium increased or the absorption coefficient decreased.

  • The objective of this study is to understand the generation mechanism of sound and to develop a prediction method for the acoustic pressure field of a centrifugal fan. If the fan is operating at the free field without the casing, the acoustic analogy is a good method to predict the acoustic of the fan. But, the casing gives a dominant effect to the radiated sound field and the scattering effect of casing should be considered. So, in this paper the Kirchhoff-BEM is developed, which can consider the scattering effect of the rigid body. In order to consider the scattering and diffraction effects owing to the casing, BEM is introduced. The source of BEM is newly developed, so the sound field of the centrifugal fan can be obtained. In order to compare the predicted one with experimental data, a centrifugal impeller and a wedge are used in the numerical calculation and the results are compared with the experimental data. Reasonable results are obtained not only for the peak frequencies but also for the amplitudes of the tonal sound. The radiated acoustic field shows the diffraction and scattering effects of the wedge clearly.

Electrical Properties of Al-doped ZnO Transparent Conducting Thin Films Deposited by RF Magnetron Sputtering (RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 증착한 Al이 첨가된 ZnO 투명전도막의 전기적 특성)

  • 첨가제로 $Al_{2}$$O_{3}$가 포함된 ZnO 소결체가 타깃을 이용하여 RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 Al이 첨가된 ZnO박막을 증착하고, 타깃에 첨가된 $Al_{2}$$O_{3}$의 농도와 증착시 스퍼터링장치내의 기판위치에 따른 박막의 물성 변화를 고찰하였다. 타깃의 $Al_{2}$$O_{3}$ 첨가농도가 2wt%인 경우에 비저항치 8 $\times$ $10_{-3}$ $\Omega$-cm인 박막이 증차되었다. 또한 $Al_{2}$$O_{3}$가 2wt%이상 첨가된 경우는 모든 Al이 박막내부에서 Zn를 치환하여 전자주게로의 역할을 하지 못하고, 오히려 치환되지 못한 Al원자의 중성 불순물 산란효과에 의해 박막의 비저항이 증가하였다. 타깃의 마모영역 위에서 증착된 Al을 첨가한 ZnO 박막은 그 영역 KR에서 증착된 박막보다 높은 비저항값을 나타냈으며, 이는 큰 에너지를 가지는 산소입자의 충돌에 기인한 것으로 여겨진다.

  • The distribution of the space debris caused by any source affects the DBS & FSS wave propagation for satellite communication. In this paper, the normalized expansion coefficients are evaluated with varying the volume distribution density of space debris and the operating frequency, and then the attenuation and phase shift are calculated by using the normalized expansion coefficients. Conclusively, the attenuation and phase shift are mostly affected with the real and imaginary part of the amplitude function, respectively, which represented by electric field component of the Bessel function. The results of this paper adapted for the design of the link budget for satellite communication system and the reconsideration of space environment as the space debris increses by geometric progression.

  • In this paper, we used MOM-based BIM(Born Iterative Method) algorithm to implement the inverse scattering for the detection of cancer. We adopted two-dimensional breast structure, integral equations and two-dimensional Green's function is solved with MoM(Method of Moment) to analyzing electromagnetic scattering phenomena. In addition, verifying the calculation of developed inverse scattering algorithm and analyzing medical applicability and limitations of the algorithm.
