  • As technology improves with the 4th industrial revolution, smart construction is becoming a key part of safety management in the architecture and civil engineering. By using object detection technology with CCTV data, construction sites can be managed efficiently. In this study, super resolution technology based on deep learning is proposed to improve the accuracy of object detection in construction sites. As the resolution of a train set data and test set data get higher, the accuracy of object detection model gets better. Therefore, according to the scale of construction sites, different object detection models can be considered.

  • Recently, incidents such as proxy surgery (unlicensed medical practice) have been reported in the media that threaten the safety of patients. Alternatives such as the introduction of operating room surveillance camera devices to prevent proxy surgery are emerging, but there are practical difficulties in implementing them due to strong opposition from the medical community. However, the social credibility of doctors is falling as incidents such as proxy surgery occur frequently. In this paper, we propose a medical staff identification system combining Beacon and iris recognition. The system adds reliability by operating on the blockchain network. The system performs primary identification by performing user authentication through iris recognition and proves that the medical staff is in the operating room through beacons. It also ensures patient trust in the surgeon by receiving beacon signals in the background and performing iris authentication at random intervals to prevent medical staff from leaving the operating room after only performing initial certification.

Although accidents related to Pokemon Go are increasing, academic discussions on the issues are rare. Thus, this study explores risk types caused by the augmented reality game and examined how perception of the risks affect usage intention on the game. This study also provides the research implications through comparative analysis between youth group who generally has the tendency toward game addiction and older group. According to the results, teenagers had less usage intention when perceived financial risk increase. In case of over twenty, time risk had negative relationship with usage intention. Physical risk had no significant effect on usage intention for teenagers, but positive relationship was observed in case over twenty. These results imply the necessity of an appropriate regulation for safe game play.

  • Organizations depend on smart working environments, such as mobile networks. This development motivates companies to focus on information security. Information leakage negatively affects companies. To address this issue, management and information security researchers focus on compliance of employees with information security policies. Countermeasures in information security are known antecedents of intention to comply information security policies. Despite the importance of this topic, research on the antecedents of information security countermeasures is scarce. The present study proposes information security intelligence as an antecedent of information security countermeasures. Information security intelligence adapted the concept of safety intelligence provided by Kirwan (2008). Information security intelligence consists of problem solving skills, social skills, and information security knowledge related to information security. Results show that problem solving skills and information security knowledge have positive effects on the awareness of employees of information security countermeasures.

Researchers collected and analyzed online text data using the keywords 'young children+disaster+safety education' from portal websites from 2014 to 2017. The raw data were then subjected to first and second data refinement process. Based on the frequency analysis results, 50 keywords were selected, and the selected keywords were converted into matrix data for network analysis. The results of the study are: first, the most frequently appeared keyword together with young children's disaster safety education was 'education', followed by 'experience', 'kindergarten', 'prevention', and 'school.' Second, keywords with high centrality in the analysis of centrality also were 'education', 'experience', and 'prevention'. In addition, keywords like 'prevention', 'life', and 'evacuation' appear higher in connection-centricity than frequency ranking, which means that the degree of connection between the words is high. These results suggest that young children need education in during early childhood in order to improve their disaster safety skills, and disaster safety education should be accomplished through 'prevention' and 'experience' in early childhood education institutions.

  • The aims of this study was to investigate the effect of workplace support and access to workplace counseling on the depression level of employees who are workplace bullying victims and then find cross-level interaction effects between individual and group factors. A multi-level analysis was conducted using data from 642 individuals who reported experiencing workplace bullying in the 2017 National Human Rights Commission survey. The findings indicate that a worker's perceived safety of their workplace is negatively associated with depression levels. Additionally, higher perceived workplace support and access to workplace counseling were associated with lower depression levels. Lastly, a positive interaction effect was observed between access to workplace counseling and perceived workplace support in relation to depression levels. That is, higher access to workplace counseling increases the negative effect of workplace support on depression levels of employees. These results highlight the importance of creating protective factors such as a safe and supportive organizational culture to combat workplace bullying of coworkers or supervisors, and implementation of counseling and support services to assist victims in coping with workplace bullying and reducing depression symptoms.
