A Unification of Community policing (지역사회 경찰활동의 통합적 정립)

  • 현대의 경찰활동은 지역사회 경찰활동(Community Policing)으로 귀결된다. 지역사회 경찰활동에 대한 많은 논의가 있어왔지만 지역사회 경찰활동이라는 패러다임에 관한 통합적인 모색은 등한시 되어 온 것이 사실이다. 지역사회 경찰활동에서 파생된 프로그램 및 전략들은 실질적인 경찰활동과 관련이 있다. 이러한 프로그램들은 경찰조직의 이슈 혹은 특정한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 지역사회 경찰활동보다 의도적으로 좁은 범위로 한정하고 있다. 그러한 초점을 가진 대표적인 프로그램은 문제지향적 경찰활동(Problem-oriented policing), 깨진 창(Broken Windows), 컴스탯(Comstat), 제3자 경찰활동(Third party policing), 우범지대(Hot spots)로 볼 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 프로그램 및 전략들은 매우 한정된 범위 내에서 존재하고 운영되는 것들이기 때문에 오늘날의 경찰활동의 근거나 기초를 지역사회 경찰활동만큼 제공해주지 못하고 있다. 지역사회 경찰활동과 관련된 경찰개혁 프로그램이나 전략들을 통합하여 다시 한 번 의미를 재정립하는 것은 현장의 경찰관들이 보다 쉽게 경찰행정의 의미를 이해하고 실제로 실현해 나갈 수 있는 방법을 안내하기 위함이다.

  • 최근 기업의 사회적 책임에 대한 관심이 커져가고 있으며, 사회의 구성원으로서 사회적 책임 활동은 선택이 아닌 필수적인 요소가 되어 가고 있으며 이에 대한 연구들도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 기업의 사회적 책임활동에 대한 연구들은 주로 사회적 책임활동과 기업의 이미지, 고객만족 및 재방문 등 기업의 성과와 관련한 연구가 주를 이루고 있다. 이에 기업의 사회적 책임활동이 직원들의 내부 고객인 직원들의 직무만족과 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 그 관계에서 조직몰입이 어떤 역할을 하는지를 규명해보고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 기업의 사회적 책임활동이 직원들의 직무만족을 증진하고, 증진된 직무만족이 조직시민행동에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 인과적 경로를 검증하고자 한다. 또한 사회적 책임활동과 직무만족, 조직시민행동의 관계에서 조직몰입을 조절 변수로 설정하여 본 연구를 진행하였다.

A Study on the Social Activities Perceived by the Korean elderly (노인이 인식하는 사회활동에 대한 연구)

  • The successful aging paradigm suggests that the elderly keep their social ties and actively participate in various activities in later life. Many Korean studies on aging, however, have overlooked the importance of various social activities and relationships beyond kinship. This article aims to investigate the perceived social activities among Korean elders to comprehend the subjectivity of successful aging. 613 respondents, over 50 years old, are selected from a national survey data which was collected by face-to-face interview based on the structured questionnaire. The respondents are classified into pre old (50-64), young old (65-74), old old (over 75). Major findings are as follows. The social activities are grouped into two sub-categories: 'relational activity' and 'productive activity'. The activity types are different by the age cohorts. Various activities are considered in terms of one's needs or motivations, and properly chosen based on the subjective evaluation during life course. Both demographic variables such as sex, area and social context variables such as marital status, living-together show influence on the activity type choices. Plans for later life and work ethics are important as well. Policies regarding social participation emphasizing productivity should positively consider relational motives, as perceived by the Korean elderly.

The Effects Social Entrepreneurship and CSR Activities on Performance of Social Enterprise (사회적 기업가정신이 CSR 활동과 사회적 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing social performance of social entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) activities. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, and CSR activities. Social entrepreneurship have been classified as innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking, and social value orientation. And CSR activities have been classified as community responsibility, philanthropic responsibility, and environmental responsibility. The proposed model is analyzed to target social entrepreneurs. Valid 115 questionnaires have been collected within three months of 2013. Smart Partial Least Square(PLS) 2.0 have been utilized for deriving the study results. The result of hypothesis testing are as follows. First, social entrepreneurship positively influence community responsibility, philanthropic responsibility, and environmental responsibility. Second, community responsibility, philanthropic responsibility, and environmental responsibility positively influence social performance in social enterprise. The results of this study will provide various implications to improve social performance and social entrepreneurship in social enterprise.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the community development by the community involvement level of the corporate social contribution activities. This study classified Korean company's best social contribution activities according to the community involvement level and the effectiveness of the community development was analyzed on selected case activities. As a result, corporations that working on high level of community involvement show positive effectiveness of community development. Networking and communication with local people on the corporate social contribution activities have an effect on the community development of the economy, safety, convenience, comfortability, socio-cultural factor. It is necessary for the participation and communication with local people to develop corporate social contribution consistently. Furthermore, intermediary organization is needed to be set up various networks of stakeholders, especially community.

Influence of Social Standing of Adolescents to Social Activity on Online (청소년의 사회적 네트워크에서의 지위(social standing)가 온라인 사회적 활동(social activity)에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study is identifying a social standing on adolescents' social network in offline and how the social standing influence to online social activity. For the purpose, we explore two research questions. First, How the adolescents' social standing present in their offline social network? Second, How the adolescents' social standing influence to online social activity? Using data, we first visualized 5 social network of adolescents, and deducted each ego networks and global network. Also we investigated causality between social standing and social activities. The result showed adolescents' social tie and social gregariousness influence to social activity width and depth in ego network. Based on these findings, we discussed some implications, limitations, and future direction.

  • Recently, as managing organization's stakeholders become important, a viewpoint of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been changed. Unlike in the past, organizations have performed CSR in their active and strategic point of view. Previous studies about the effect of social responsibility generally focused on customer response, social performance, and financial performance, and studies about the influence on business processes and organizational members are relatively not sufficient. In particular, there is few studies about the relationship among CSR, organization's innovation capability, and non-financial performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of CSR to knowledge management and organizational performance by using multiple regression analysis. Specifically, from the empirical result of this study with 256 Korean finns in diverse industries including the manufacturing, we identified that CSR has positive influence on knowledge management and organizational performance.

Social-emotional Learning-Based Music Program Development for Social Inclusion of Children With and Without Disabilities (장애-비장애 아동의 사회적 통합을 위한 사회정서학습(SEL) 기반 음악활동 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and validate the music program based on social-emotional learning (SEL) to facilitate social inclusion between children with and without disabilities studying together in inclusive classes. For program development, the literature on social inclusion programs and SEL programs were analyzed. Program components were extracted from the literature review and based on the review activities were also selected. The participants were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students, including children with intellectual disabilities, and the program was implemented over 12 sessions during the students' creative experiential activity class. The validity of the program was evaluated by teachers and the specified program contents were modified and finalized reflecting the professionals' recommendations. This study supports that SEL-based music program can be effectively applied to inclusive education. The developed music program is also expected to improve the social and emotional capacity of children in inclusive classrooms and to increase the social inclusion between children with and without disabilities.

The Effects of the Social Contribution Activities on Local Developmental Achievement with a focus on the Mediating effect of Inter-Firm Connected Activity (사회공헌활동이 기업 간 연계 활동의 매개효과를 중심으로 지역발전성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Due to the growing awareness and demand for corporate social responsibility, the corporate activities designed to make a social contribution are becoming increasingly diversified. Nonetheless, according to a periodic survey, the public has become dissatisfied with the social contribution activities of domestic corporations. The perceptions of the social contribution activities of domestic corporations and the public were found to be quite different. In this study, the Social Contribution Activities were classified into three factors, "Socio-Cultural Resource Activities", "Indirect Social Resource activities" and "Economic Resource Activities", and the effect of each factor on the inter-firm connected activities and achievements of local development were analyzed. Firstly, the "Socio-Cultural Resource Activities" and "Indirect Social Resource Activities" were shown to have a positive effect on the Inter-firm connected activities in the community. Secondly, it was found that the more active the Inter-firm connected activities were in the community, the bigger their positive effect was on the achievements of local development. Thirdly, the "Economic Resource Activities" were shown to have a positive effect on the achievement of local development. Fourthly, "Socio-Cultural Resource Activities" and "Indirect Social Resource Activities" were shown to have a positive effect on the Inter-firm connected activities and an indirect positive effect on the achievement of local development. Based on this research, we quantitatively determine the relationship between the corporate social contribution activities and performance.

A Study on the Effect of the Corporate Reputation, Perceived Motivation and Perceived Fit of Corporate Social Responsibility on the Recognition of Corporate Legitimacy in Crisis - Based on the Oil Spill Incidence of Samsung Heavy Industries (기업 명성과 기업의 사회적 책임 활동의 동기와 적합성이 위기 시 기업 정당성 인식에 미치는 영향 - 삼성중공업 기름유출 사례를 중심으로)

  • With the turn of the 21st century, corporate legitimacy is at risk. The society is demanding even greater responsibility to the corporations in return of exercising its enlarged influencing power. As the legitimacy is threatened, entrepreneurial activities have become even more important than ever in order to obtain trust from the public and to be accepted as an ethical enterprise. This study assumes corporate legitimacy as the necessary element in overcoming the crisis. With this respect, it further states what kind of effect the exercise of corporate reputation and social responsibility have on ensuring corporate legitimacy in crisis. To verify the purpose of this study, two research hypotheses and one research question were set. The major research results and the implications are as follows. First, the corporate reputation of Samsung Heavy Industries affects the corporate actional legitimacy in case of crisis. Second, recognition on corporate legitimacy varied in accordance with the public’s perception of the corporate social responsibility. Third, the interaction between corporate reputation and social responsibility plays a role in determining corporate legitimacy. This result denotes that it is necessary to exercise social responsibility and build up corporate reputation in order to obtain corporate legitimacy in crisis.
