In this research, we investigated users' social capital and subjective well-being in social network games. We had Focus Group Interview(FGI) and analyzed the interview data. Our finding is that the social capital was either decreasing or slightly increasing only between acquaintances, with the subjective well-being increasing, affected by the users' achievements, continuous caring, and interaction with NPCs, while not affected by the social capital. Our research also found the independent increase of subjective well being, not being affected by the increase of social capital.

The purpose of this study is a qualitative Study for development of measuring social capital in community. The indicator of social capital in this paper was developed through 1) literature review 2) in-depth interview with community welfare network members 3) a qualitative Study for concept development in light of social capital about trust, norms, networks 4) focus-group meeting for content validity verification 5) a pilot-study and 6) a questionnaire survey. The indicator of 79 items for has been constructed with three features : The first is 'trust' with 30 items; the second 'norm' with 22 items; and the third 'network' with 27 items. Cronbach's alpha estimate of the indicator of trust was .948, norms were .899 and networks were .906. This study has been revealed to the reliability and validity and therefor it was an appropriate measurement of social capital in community. The social capital scale developed in this study is useful to be objective about operating condition of community welfare network and to seek ways for pursuing more efficient operations.

In the past, the existing Internet service was used to simply gather information and show, with the development of Web 2.0 where everyone is allowed to access and share information. Since the development of the concept and the technology of the Web 2.0, the users of Social Network Service (SNS) such as Facebook, MySpace, Youtube, Twitter, etc., have been increasing. In this study, we researched into the Social Capital formed by using SNS based on "Social Capital Theory." We constructed the survey to obtain the demographical information of the users, motive of using the SNS and the evaluation of the On-line Social Capital. The survey was aimed for the Korean and the Chinese. In addition, a multi-regression analysis was performed to explain the relationship between the function of Social Network Service and the Online Social Capital. The result of this study, presents a relationship between the Online Social Capital form and function of Social Network Service users. Therefore, the information obtained in this study can be applied when developing the service.

This study aimed to examine how gender and regional differences affect the relationships between SNS use and social capital. By analyzing a large set of data from Korean teenagers, significant roles of gender and regional differences could be found. In regards to gender difference, the most notable finding was the negative effects of SNS use on bonding and bridging social capital among male teenagers. Furthermore, it was found that such negative effects of SNS use were significant particularly among urban teenagers. These findings theoretically contribute to broadening the understanding of the relationships between SNS use and social capital.

The purpose of the study is that which has to do with changes that are inherent in life or mental health of the local population, which appears as a subjective aspect of social capital of local residents. To examine factors that affect the mental health of the residents of a social capital accumulation and changes, as described a positive relationship between social capital in several previous studies related to the quality of life of local residents. The results showed that affect the mental health is the only community consciousness in 2010, higher community consciousness and higher network capacity of 2011 residents, but higher mental health scores, lower mental health scores were greater participation in social participation. Also score high in the mental health component of the group of the high number of people in all social capital and more social capital were higher than residents in low mental health score group. The indirect effects on mental health of the residents of social capital accumulation and changes.

Social Network has common functions such as acting as primary platforms smoothing the sharing and distribution by combination with various contents. Hence, questionnaire has been conducted to users of all of Twitter, Facebook and KakaoStory, and the factors affected by each service are presented by statistical analyses of the survey and the results are resolved by dividing them into complete and instrumental social capital. This study will be able to provide a standard for users to select Social Network according to their purposes and contribute to development of new Social Network or improvement of existing ones.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of social capital include networks, trust, norms, and participation on depression in the elderly in the era of convergence. The subjects of this study were 302 senior citizens aged 65 and over who are living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The results are follows. Depression was more severe in the elderly with lower level of education, no religion, and lower social capital including networks and norms. In this study, social networks were found to be the most important contributor to depression. In order to alleviate depression in the elderly through this study, efforts to activate and expand the network of the entire society are required. In other words, it is necessary to expand the activity space of local community, develop programs for various convergence contents, and expand education programs for the elderly in order to vitalize the network of the elderly.

Today, the importance of social capital is emphasized in modern industry as the third capital. Social capital involves "trust and norms for members" and "social network" related to effective human resource management, which is being investigated actively by many researchers. However, It is difficult to see the report on the social capital of private security industry employees. So, this report suggests effective management practices of employees through the empirical analysis on the relationship between social capital and job satisfaction with a focus on the role of mediation for job characteristics. For the most, this research through analysis on relationship between social capital and job satisfaction shows that of the components of social capital, trust and networks influence effect on job satisfaction significantly. Secondly, as result of analysis on role of mediation for job satisfaction, importance of job involved in job characteristics has an effect of mediation. This result of empirical analysis menas that the pressure of private security industry employees is reduced and cooperation which is based on social capital is need through members' trust and social network. Therefore, the strategy of management about private security industry employees should be considered for both activation of social capital and maintenance.

This study examines causal relationships between social capital, works satisfaction and work stress in Korean Coast Guard For this reason, this study conducted review of literature for relevant theories. As a result trust, participation and network were set as factors of social capital. Work satisfaction and work stress were set as subvariables. First, social capital and work satisfaction are high, but work stress is low among Coast Guard officers. Second, social capital of Coast Guard officers impact work satisfaction positively. To be more specific, in order of significance, trust, network, participation have impact on work satisfaction. Third, when examining relationship between social capital and work stress, while participation decreases work stress, network on the other hand causes increase in work stress. Based on these findings, there is a need to promote social capital which impacts work satisfaction and stress of constituents of Coast Guard.

This research attempted to examine the concept of social capital and intellectual capital for re-conceptualizing the library's total values. This approach enabled research to analyze that social capital formation is created by public libraries as functioning agencies. Intellectual capital consisted of human capital, structural capital and social capital was examined on applicability in the public libraries by understanding social capital. The research outlined the mechanism for total values of libraries. Finally the findings of this research were expected to help to research for libraries' identity.
