It is very important to support the elderly with disability ageing in place. Assisting devices can help them to live independently in their community; however, they have to be used appropriately to meet care needs. This study develops an assisting device recommendation system for the beneficiaries of long-term care insurance that include algorithms to decide the most appropriate type of assisting device for beneficiaries. We used long-term care (LTC) insurance data for grade assessment including 8,084 beneficiaries from July 2015 to June 2016. In addition, we collected standard care plans for assisting devices, that power-assessors made, considering their performance and ability that could subsequently be matched with grade assessment data. We used a decision-tree model in data-mining to develop the model. Finally, we developed 15 algorithms for recommending assisting devices. The findings might be useful in evidence-based care planning for assisting devices and can contribute to enhancing independence and safety in LTC.

화재로 인한 인명 및 재산상의 손실을 예방하고 신속한 재해복구와 인명피해에 대한 적정한 보상을 하게 함으로써 국민생활의 안정에 기여함을 목적으로 1973년 5월 15일 민간방재전문기관으로 출범한 한국화재보험협회가 올해로 창립 15주년을 맞이했다. 화보협회는 그간 국민 생활안정을 통한 복지사회 건설이라는 막중한 사명감을 한시도 잊지 않는 채 특수건물을 비롯 기간산업에 대한 안건점검과 화재보험을 통하여 국가경제발전과 산업안전에 많은 기여를 해온 것으로 평가되고 있다. 창립 15주년을 맞아 이제 지난 15년간의 협회 발자취와 당면과제, 그리고 앞으로의 역할에 대하여 각계 전문가의 의견을 들어본다.

19세기초 영국에서 개발된 증기 기관차로 인하여 육상교통이 큰 변혁을 맞은 이래 열차의 속도, 승차감, 신뢰도 및 안전도, 경제성의 제고 등에 대한 계속적인 기술발전과 개량으로 철도 교통은 대량수송 수단의 주역으로 경제발전과 인류역사에 크게 공헌하여 왔다. 산업발전에 따른 고속화와 전철화로 철도차량의 최고속도는 프랑스의 고속전철(TGV)이 300km/h까지 도달했으나 고속주행시의 소음, 공해등으로 인하여 21세기 인류에게 제공될 지상의 대중교통수단으로서는 여러가지의 제한점을 보이고 있다. 최근 우리나라에서도 지속적이고 급속한 대중 교통수단으로서는 여러가지의 제한점을 보이고 있다. 최근 우리나라에서도 지속적이고 급속한 산업발전과 사회복지의 향상으로 국내의 산업물동량과 산업인구의 이동이 급격하게 증가하여 우리나라 산업동맥의 중추인 경부선의 경우 일일 수송능력은 120회/일 이르렀고 철도교통수요의 증가율('84년 예측치 5.9%년)과 특급이상의 승객증가율('84년 예측 12.5%)에 비추어 볼때, 1995년경에는 완전포화 상태에 도달할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 본 소고에서는 21세기 고도사회 진입에 대비하고 국민의 생활수준향상에 부응하는 빠르며, 쾌적하고, 안전한 고속 대중 교통수단으로써 관심을 불러 일으키고 있는 고속전철을 소개하고, 현재 운행하거나 개발중인 외국의 기술현황을 기술적인 면과 운용면에서의 고찰을 통하여 한국의 교통체제, 지형, 미래의 교통구조 등을 고려한 한국형 고속전철의 개발방향을 제시하고저 한다.

This study aims to examine the relationship between physical environment and depression symptoms of middle-aged and older adults in metro city. To verify correlates of community environment and depression, mediating effect model structured by social capital and sense of coherence(SOC) were used. For the purpose, a survey was conducted aged 48 - 70 from the local community centers and senior welfare centers in Seoul, and the total collected cases were 331. After data cleaning, total 309 cases were used. The structured equation modeling applied to analyse the direct and indirect effects. The findings were followed : First, the community environment did not directly affect level of depression. Second, in the indirect effect analysis, social capital was not statistically significant, thus indirect effect was confirmed only through the SOC. To be specific, the higher the satisfaction of the physical environment increased SOC, and decreased the level of depression. The results of this study shed lights on practical interventions to promote mental health of the middle-aged and older adults those who are exposed to poor community environment.

In this paper, we propose a low-cost wearable device that can monitor the health status of the elderly living alone in real-time. As aging is accelerating, the elderly population is rapidly increasing, and the social isolation of the elderly living alone is causing physical and mental difficulties and the number of elderly people dying alone is increasing, becoming a social problem. In this study, we propose a belly band-type wearable device that can monitor the biometric information of elderly living alone. The proposed device transmits electromyogram, electrocardiogram, and body temperature information to a remote server through an Arduino-based sensor built into the abdominal band. Transmitted information can be monitored in a web environment in real-time, and it has the feature of enabling remote monitoring of a large number of subjects with a small amount of management manpower. The research results will contribute to improving the safety and welfare of seniors living alone by not only detecting lonely deaths in advance but also responding immediately to dangerous situations that may occur in daily life.

This qualitative study aimed to explore and understand the impacts of the poor neighborhood on children from their own perspectives. To this end, the meaning and the structure of children's lived experiences were explored. The participants were recruited from elementary school high grade students living in poor neighborhood. Focused group interviews were conducted in each of the 24 World Visions social work agencies. The collected data were analysed qualitatively. According to the results, the following main themes could be extracted from the children's lived experiences: "Conflict between connection and differentiation", "Resigning to the fate of being neglected in danger" "Learning to live in the dark cave", "Anticipating a bowl of trust from the neighborhood". The children living in poor neighborhood were threatened by the physical and emotional danger highly probable in weak social infrastructure. Also, they have internalized negative self-identity by chaotic environment and, even the negative role models from alcoholic and sometimes violent adults. However, they were experiencing positive caring from and solidarity with surrounding neighborhood, and were participating in volunteered activities for asserting their citizen rights. These may be the keys to empowerment and, ultimately, to change for themselves and the community. The implications of the study results for the policy making and the actual practice were discussed focusing on the children's rights and well-being.

최근 과학 및 IT 패러다임은 HW(과거) 및 SW(현재) 중심에서 '데이터 빅뱅'을 활용하여 정치 사회 경제 등 제반 이슈와 연계된 분석 예측으로 진화 중이다. 국가안전 및 위험관리, 의료, 교육, 복지, 환경 등 사회 전반에 걸쳐 공공부문에서의 빅데이터 활용 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 공공정보 자체뿐만 아니라 민간정보와의 통합 분석을 통해 효과적인 맞춤형 정책과 새로운 지식정보 서비스 제공이 가능하기 때문에 주요 선진국은 공공정보의 적극 활용을 위해 다양한 정책을 경쟁적으로 추진해 오고 있다. 공공정보의 민간활용 촉진은 정보 제공자인 공공기관뿐만 아니라, 이를 활용하는 민간 사업자, 관련 서비스 사용자 모두에게 경제적 비경제적 가치를 제공할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구를 통해 국내 공공정보 민간활용 산업의 경제적 파급효과를 추정하고, 중요한 전 후방 연결 산업들을 파악하고자 한다.

전체적인 국민 생활수준의 향상에 따라 건강에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지면서 고품질의 신선 식품에 대한 수요가 급격히 늘고 있는 추세이다. 그 가운데에서도 과일, 채소류의 비중이 점차 증대되고 있으며, 이들의 가공제품보다는 신선한 식품에 대한 소비 성향이 괄목할 만한 성장세를 나타내고 있다. 이와 함께 신선 과일, 채소류의 소비에 있어 변화하고 있는 또 다른 경향은 소비자가 이용시 간편성과 합리성을 추구하고 있다는 점이다. 이에 따라 최근에는 각종 신선편의식품이 시대의 조류에 맞춰 출시되고 있으며, 특히 이들 상품에 대한 수요는 여성의 사회진출, 맞벌이 부부의 증가, 독신자의 증가, 노인층 구매력의 증가 등 여러 가지 사회환경 변화에 부응하여 더 더욱 증대할 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본고에서는 한국식품개발연구원이 보건복지부의 연구비 지원으로 수행중인 보건의료기술 개발과제와 관련하여 신선 과채류 편의식품의 안전성 및 저장성 측면에서 품질향상을 위해 적용할 수 있는 각종 새로운 기술, 즉 원재료에서 포장된 상품 상태까지 과일, 채소류의 최소가공 과정을 포함한 전 단계의 처리방법을 소개하고 자 한다.
