크리스토퍼 네메스의 디자인 방법을 활용한 해체적 업사이클링 패션디자인 개발 (Development of Deconstructive Upcycling Fashion Design Using the Design Method of Christopher Nemeth)

  • Christopher Nemeth is a designer who combines characteristics of a pioneering upcycle design and deconstructionist design with fabrics, waste clothing, and pieces of fabric recycled in the 1980s. By hommaging his work from the Louis Vuitton 2015 F/W collection, Kim Jones is once again becoming a source of design inspiration in an era where upcycling fashion is attracting attention. Accordingly, an upcycling design approach might appeal to the MZ generation. Christopher Nemes' design presented in this study as a representative fashion designer of dismantling upcycling is basically based on dismantling. It can also be interpreted as dismantling upcycling design because it uses used clothing, waste clothing, and discarded fabrics as materials. This study examined main techniques of upcycling fashion design and derived characteristics of Nemes design as "deconstructive techniques using free lines of construction," "recycling upcycling vintage materials and clothing accessories," and "using handcrafted techniques of artistic sensibility." By applying Nemes' dismantling upcycling technique, four designs were developed for men's top and bottom sets for targets in their 20s and 30s to suggest the commercialization possibility. This study is meaningful in that it proposes a methodical alternative to the new deconstructionist upcycling design that can show Nemes' aesthetic characteristics, creative perspective, and personality by modernly reinterpreting the deconstructionist upcycling technique extracted through analysis of fashion designer Christopher Nemes' design. In particular, by actually producing the work and confirming whether the design technique can be implemented, the value as a fashion product that can be sold is realized.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop up-cycling fashion design methods centered on discarded denim material for the study of original up-cycling design methods. Up-cycling fashion design work was developed using digital clothing technology. This is a recent hot topic among sustainable fashion design methods. Up-cycling fashion design expression methods (categorized as dismantlement, collages, dépaysement, grafting, weaving, and tearing) were centered on design methods. These methods create various three-dimensional modeling effects in planar forms, whereby five pieces can be applied to the fabric and digitally produced. The results are as follows: First, the use of discarded denim fabric for the development of up-cycling fashion design pieces enabled the recycling of existing resources, provided solutions to environmental pollution problems, and provided expansion opportunities for design processes for sustainable fashion products that expand the design value of denim products and their utility. Second, new eco-friendly fashion designs that attempt to achieve diversity in modern fashion trends could be presented through formative contemporary fashion produced by up-cycling work products. Third, up-cycling fashion design work is expected to provide opportunities for eco-friendly fashion design methods. This will expand the value of sustainable fashion design by recycling simple waste materials through the use of three-dimensional digital clothing technology and further through the presentation of expanded life cycles that extend product planning, production, and life cycles.

버진 및 리사이클 PET 제품의 화학적·열적 특성 비교시험에 관한 연구 (A study on the comparative test of chemical and thermal properties of virgin and recycled PET products)

  • 세계적으로 리사이클 원사 분야의 관심과 수요가 급격히 높아짐에 따라, 국내 기업들 또한 리사이클 원사에 대한 연구 개발 및 사업을 촉진중이다. 국내 리사이클 폴리에스터 원사 사업을 주도하고 있는 A사와 B사의 버진 PET와 리사이클 PET 시료 4종을 적외선 분광기 (FT-IR)를 통해 화학적 특성을 확인 하였으며, 시차주사열량계 (DSC)를 통해 열적 특성을 확인하였다. 두 업체의 버진 PET와 리사이클 PET를 비교한 결과, FT-IR에서 두 회사의 제품 모두 PET의 전형적인 스펙트럼을 보여줌과 동시에, 872 cm-1에서 스펙트럼의 차이를 보여주었고, DSC를 통해 리사이클 PET의 융점 및 결정화 온도가 버진 PET에 비해 더 낮은 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 결과는 리사이클 PET에 소량 존재하는 오염물질이 PET 원사의 열적 특성에 영향을 주는 중요한 매개 변수임을 보여준다. 총 7회의 가열 및 냉각 과정을 거친 DSC 결과에서, 4개의 샘플 모두 사이클 횟수가 늘어날수록 낮은 융점 및 결정화 온도를 낮은 열유속 세기와 함께 보여주며, 용융 및 결정화 엔탈피의 결과 또한 비슷한 양상을 보여주었다.

  • "Sustainability" and buzzword as in many areas of products produced and studies in progress, in situations of domestic "green fashion" of the Progress and identify problems and advanced in value sustained growth that can be done fashion design, the future of the gauge view there is need.   • 개인적 삶의 질 향상과 함께 사회적인 삶의 가치를 추구하여 인체친화적이며 동시에 환경 친화적인 제품 소비에 가치를 두는 LOHAS 트렌드의 영향으로 의류 제품에서는 소비자의 요구 수준에 맞춘 고급화, 고기능화된 의류 상품 및 소재 중심의 소비와 함께 친환경 소재, 리사이클 소재 등에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 최근 Ramie 복합 소재는 이러한 트렌드에 적합한 대표적인 소재로서 고감성/웰빙 신섬유 제품 개발을 통해 신시장 개척이 가능한 아이템으로 주목받고 있다. 한편, Ramie는 땀에 대한 흡습성과 속건성이 우수하고 청량감이 있어 주로 여름 소재로 활용되어 왔으나 촉감이 좋지 못하고 광택성이 떨어지는 단점이 있어 이를 보완하기 위해 촉감이 좋고 광택성이 뛰어난 레이온 계열의 소재와 혼방하여 고급스럽고 환경 친화적인 의류소재로써 개발이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 레이온계 섬유 중에서 상품성이 modal 섬유 Tencel 섬유를 각각 혼방한 Ramie/Modal(28's,30's), Ramie/Tencel(28's) 복합소재의 반응성 염료에 대한 염색특성을 비교 고찰해 보았다. 실험은 Heterobifunctional type 반응성 염료 3종(Red, Yellow, Blue)을 이용하여 흡진 거동, 빌드업 특성, 겉보기 색상농도 등을 비교하였으며 1/1 standard 농도에서의 제반 견뢰도를 비교 평가하였다.

3차원 인체데이터에 의한 20대 성인남성 상반신 체표변화 분석 - 모터사이클복 패턴설계시 적용을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Body Surface Change from 3D Scan Data of Men's Upper Bodies in Twenties - Focus on Application of Motorcycle Jacket Pattern -)

  • The early stage of 3D anthropometry data has been used to obtain qualitative rather than quantitative information. However recent 3D body scanners as a common research tool for anthropormatric measurments have made it possible to obtain body surface data of sufficient resolution and accuracy. The purpose of this study is finally to develop motorcycle jacket for enhanced comfort and fit, to test the accuracy and reliability of 3D measurments of motorcycle riding posture, and to analyze the change in 20's adult male's body surface measurements between the standard anthropometric position and motorcycle riding posture. The results of this study were as follows: There were no significant differences between the study and Size Korea measurments in total traditional measuring items and most of measuring items, such as length, circumference antropometric items and interscye items though not waist back length and upper arm circumference. A comparison of 3D body surface measurments in the two different measuring postures, the bodysurface measurments such as waist front length, biacromion length, front interscye, arm length, underarm length in the motorcycle riding posture decreased than that in basic posture, whereas waist back length, back interscye, C.T.W length increased. The body surface measurments such as chest, bust, upper circumference in the motorcycle riding posture decreased than that in basic posture, whereas neck, waist, hip, elbow circumference increased.

업사이클링 패션제품에 대한 지각된 소비가치, 환경친화적 신념, 태도, 온라인 구전의도 및 구매의도에 관한 연구 (Perceived Consumption Value, Pro-Environmental Belief, Attitude, eWOM, and Purchase Intention Toward Upcycling Fashion Products)

  • Fashion industry constantly produces and consumes, which leads to huge waste piles of perfectly usable textiles in landfills, as well as other negative effects of an exploitative and excessively rapid fashion process. Pollution created by making and dyeing clothes has pitted fashion industry and environmentalists against each other. In this context, upcycling is seen as an optimal way to solve the growing problem of waste in fashion industry. The first purpose of the study was to analyze the relationships between upcycling fashion products' perceived value, pro-environmental beliefs, attitudes, electronic word of mouth (eWOM) intention, and purchase intention. The second purpose is to verify the difference of perceived consumption value among the consumers' awareness level and purchase experience. A total of 258 valid responses obtained from a group of 20-30-year-old participants were collected through an online survey. SPSS 23.0 and Amos 18.0 programs were used for data analysis. The results of the present study suggest that there are significant effects of upcycling fashion products' perceived value on pro-environmental belief; furthermore, pro-environmental belief was found to positively influence attitude, eWOM intention, and purchase intention. In addition, there are differences of perceived consumption value among the consumers' awareness level and purchase experience. Taken together, the results of this study provide researchers and practitioners with a deeper understanding of consumers' values, beliefs, attitudes, and behavioral intentions towards upcycling fashion products.

리사이클 PET와 실크 복합소재를 활용한 뉴노멀 패션 파자마 개발 (Development of the new normal fashion pajamas using recycle PET and silk mixed textiles)

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people started working from home while avoiding unnecessary going-outs. As the 'stay-at-home life' becomes standard daily life, the pajamas market is absorbing young consumers, especially targeting Generation MZ, by using one-mile fashion that breaks down the boundary with everyday clothes. Also, owing to the demand for environmentally-friendly textiles, based on the strengthened environmental regulations, the development of textiles considering the environment is expanding. Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop fashion pajamas using environmentally-friendly textiles targeting Generation MZ. After theoretically considering the current status of recycled PETs and the pajama market by referring to preceding research, relevant books, and Internet data, this study performed the process setting up the design concepts, developing textiles, developing textile designs, and developing pajamas designs. As a result, this study wove two kinds of mixed textiles using recycled PETs and silk with the concept of 'Going out pajamas', and designed a total four patterns to be applied to those textiles, then digitally printed them. Using the developed textiles, this study produced a total four kinds of pajamas that were practical, trendy, and also good to be used as clothes for going-out. The consumers who are exhausted from the limited environment of the COVID-19 pandemic, are requesting comfortable and trendy in & out door fashion. For this reason, the results of this study are significant in the aspect of suggesting the new-normal fashion trend for pajamas designs.

폐기물을 활용한 업사이클링 뷰티디자인 (Upcycling Beauty Design Using Waste)

  • This study delves into the realm of upcycling beauty design by repurposing discarded CDs, magazines, and fabrics. The study outlines a meticulous process for transforming waste into beauty designs. We created three upcycling beauty design works as part of this investigation. The first creation, called Silver Leaf, uses the silver section of CDs to craft leaves and stems. Achromatic colors are used as makeup to achieve cyber-inspired imagery. After carrying out silver-gray eye makeup, the lips were completed by affixing a CD component. The second creation is a firebird crafted by cutting or folding fashion magazines to create essential items. The colorful firebird image was completed using vivid color makeup of shades such as red and yellow. After proceeding with red eye makeup, the lips were completed by cutting and pasting magazine cutouts. The third piece is a spring flower, which involved selectively cutting lace patterns to complete a beauty design extending from head to face. The colors are spring-themed and encompass pink, yellow, and blue. Pink, blue, and green eyeshadows were applied on the lace, attached from head to face, chest, and lips. This study advocates for the prospect of upcycling beauty design using sustainable materials by repurposing waste resources. It also introduces the possibilities of creative activities in this field through upcycling. The study aims to play a role in changing the perception of environmental conservation, a concern of our times, through the use of sustainable resources.
