Data Acquisition Method for Marine Geophysical Survey (해양물리탐사 자료취득 기법)

  • Data acquisition is as important as data processing and interpretation in the field of marine geophysical exploration. Marine geophysicist, however, may not have enough information in this field because data acquisition method has been mainly developed by the commercial companies manufacturing the equipment. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the general data acquisition method and information to help to construct the systematic and effective survey plan. When a survey plan is set up, the most important thing is to select the seismic equipment based on required penetration depth and resolution, and then construct the survey line intervals. Although a line interval varies from the research purposes, it should be narrower than the expected subsurface structures. Also, if 100% coverage of multibeam data is required, line intervals need to be adjusted based on the equipment characteristics. In case of merging with the preexisting dataset like bathymetry, gravity and magnetic, cross-over errors occurred at the each cross point should be removed to avoid any kinds of misinterpretation.

  • The changing pattern of living and communication, combined with wireless technologies has given rise to more fluidity between spaces and relationships. Despite this, the way we use technology and the qualities of product and service are limited. For example, ON or OFF is like BLACK or WHITE, it presents a harsh distinction This severity in definition can make me uncomfortable when using products. The aim of this project is to improve the use of a product's functions and Qualities. As an example, the switch button has limited the possible interaction of a product. even each function is different. 1 intend this study is to imbue the switch with a greater freedom of interpretation. What will happen If I create a journey in between on and off\ulcorner For instance, time, pattern, state, rhythm and so on are analogue properties of a switch. The playful, spontaneous, and enjoyable behaviour of a switch will be able to bring other qualities of function and service. The switch will then be able to be an object with more human qualities, not simply an on and off button.

A Study of Acquisition Material Duplication Rate Among Three Academic Libraries for Developing a Library Cooperation System (도서관 정보네트워크 발전을 위한 구입자료 중복율에 대한 조사 연구 - 경기도 소재 3개 대학도서관을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify an acquisition material duplication rate among three academic libraries for developing an academic library network. Three academic libraries located in Gyonggi-do, Korea were selected for data collection. The acquisition lists in both 2000 and 2001 were compared and analyzed between two libraries respectively. The results show that the duplication rate is 0.4% in 2000 and 2.8% in 2001 between medium in libraries, and 1.33%, 1.11% in 2000 and 3.63%, 3.88% in 2001 between a big size library and medium size libraries. These tell us that a big library can get benefit from a library network with medium size libraries.

Analysis for the Duplication of Achievement Standards between Science and Other Subjects in the 2009 Revised National Curriculum (2009개정 교육과정에서 과학과와 타교과의 성취기준 중복성에 대한 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the duplication problem of achievement standards between science and other subjects in the 2009 Revised National Curriculum and to search for solutions and implications for this problem. From the results of this study, we found that the achievement standards of practical arts, social studies, physical education and ethics were overlapped with science's ones. The duplication of content elements for 'our body and health', 'living things and environment', 'biodiversity' and 'natural disaster' categories was not high, that is, their achievement standards were relatively well-differentiated and reflected the intrinsic characteristic of each subject under common topics. But, in case of 'reproduction and development' and 'world of technology' categories, the problem of duplications was serious. In order to cope with this problem, we need to consider solutions such as merging or integrating the achievement standards of related subjects. The relevant experts should conduct in-depth discussion and negotiation, and develop achievement standards more consistent with the identity of each subject.

An Analysis on Argumentation in the Task Context of 'Monty Hall Problem' at a High School Probability Class (고등학교 확률 수업의 '몬티홀 문제' 과제 맥락에서 나타난 논증과정 분석)

  • This study aims to look into the characteristics of argumentation in the task context of 'Monty Hall problem' at a high school probability class. As a result of an analysis of classroom discourses on the argumentation between teachers and second-year students in one upper level class in high school using Toulmin's argument pattern, it was found that it would be important to create a task context and a safe classroom culture in which the students could ask questions and refute them in order to make it an argument-centered discourse community. In addition, through the argumentation of solving complex problems together, the students could be further engaged in the class, and the actual empirical context enriched the understanding of concepts. However, reasoning in argumentation was mostly not a statistical one, but a mathematical one centered around probability problem-solving. Through these results of the study, it was noted that the teachers should help the students actively participate in argumentation through the task context and question, and an understanding of a statistical reasoning of interpreting the context would be necessary in order to induce their thinking and reasoning about probability and statistics.

  • 지구온난화의 심화로 사회적으로 환경의 중요성에 대한 인식이 확산되면서 $CO_2$ 배기가스 및 연비와 직결되어 있는 자동차 중량 절감의 중요성이 강조됨에 따라 차체 경량화 기술은 환경 친화적인 자동차 개발의 핵심기술로 연구되고 있다. 그러나 충돌보호 장치 및 편의장치의 증가로 차체 중량은 지속적으로 증가하고 있어 차체 중량을 혁신적으로 절감할 수 있는 초경량 차체기술이 요구된다. 차체 경량화 방법으로 기존 강재를 알루미늄재로 대체하는 방안이 연구되고 있으며, 일부 해외 고급 차종에서 알루미늄재를 이용한 스페이스 프레임 및 부품 개발을 검토 적용 중이다. 그러나 알루미늄 단일재 사용은 안전성등에서 요구 성능을 만족시키기 어렵기 때문에 강재와 알루미늄재의 적절한 사용이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 강재와 알루미늄간 이종접합부가 발생하며 이를 위한 적정 공정 개발이 필요하다. 전자기 펄스 용접(MPW)은 고상접합의 한 종류로서 고전류를 순간적으로 방전하여 발생된 고에너지를 통하여 접합이 이루어진다. 이러한 고에너지는 외부재의 전 자기적 성질에 의하여 에너지량이 결정되므로 외부재의 전도도(conductivity)는 매우 중요하며 이러한 이유로 Aluminum 1xxx계 중심의 전자기 펄스 용접 공정이 연구되었다. 그러나 자동차 스페이스 프레임 및 드라이브 샤프트등과 같은 부품에 알루미늄재를 적용하기 위해서는 일정 강도를 확보할 수 있는 6xxx계의 관련 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 고품질의 접합부 확보를 위한 1xxx계와 6xxx의 최적의 공정변수(충전전압, 외부재와 내부재 사이의 간격, 외부재 두께)를 도출하였다. 이를 위하여 전자기 펄스 용접 장치는 한국생산기술연구원과 웰메이트(주)에서 공동으로 개발한 $120{\mu}F$의 캐패시터 6개로 구성된 'W-MPW36'을 사용하였으며 접합 후 누수시험을 통하여 접합부의 품질을 검토하였다.

Analysis on the Factors Influencing Risk Perception and Risk Taking Behavior to Japanese Fishery Products: Focused on Affect Factor (일본산 수입 수산물에 대한 위험인식, 섭취 행동에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석: 감정요인을 중심으로)

  • After Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, Korean government banned to import of Japanese fishery products that comes from north region of Japan. As 'fishery product trade dispute' between Korea and Japan is still in progress, consumers have been threatened their food safety. This study is to examine the factors influencing consumer's risk perception to Japanese fishery products and risk taking behavior. Survey was conducted with 1,500 adult during sep-oct 2012. The result can represent the role of affect with risk perception of Japanese fishery product. People who have negative affect to Japanese fishery products have higher risk perception. Also negative affection can influence to risk taking behavior. However the degree of fatalism is not significant factor to risk taking behavior.

Risk Governance Models Seen from the STS Perspectives: Risk Analysis Framework and the Precautionary Principles (STS 관점에서 본 위험 거버넌스 모델: 위험분석과 사전주의 원칙을 중심으로)

  • In this paper, we continue our previous study on the differences, similarities and interfaces between the various models of scientific governance discussed in STS and those in risk governance developed by risk studies. In the previous paper we illuminated that theoretical differences among STS scholars on scientific governance and public participation goes back to the 1970s and 1980s, during which they first laid down the conceptual basis of STS. In this paper we investigate how these divergent positions among STS scholars influenced their evaluations of precautionary principle and the framework of risk analysis (especially the separation between risk assessment and risk management), which are the two main paradigms in the area of risk regulation. By doing that, this paper will show divergent positions of STS scholars on risk analysis and precautionary principle. Further, we will suggest some theoretical and practical interfaces between STS and risk governance models.

Korean Households' Inflation Expectations and Information Rigidity (우리나라 일반인 인플레이션 기대 형성 행태 분석)

  • This paper attempts to investigate the Korean households' inflation expectations with particular attention to information rigidity. For this purpose, we derive an empirical model from a sticky information model $\acute{a}$ la Mankiw and Reis (2002) and estimate it. In addition, it is also examined whether the expectation formation is state-dependent on macroeconomic conditions. The main findings of this paper are as follows. First, it turns out that the information rigidity in Korean households' inflation expectations is very high. In a month, most of the households simply keep their inflation expectations the same as before instead of updating them based on newly arrived information. Furthermore, when updating their expectations, the households tend to rely on the backward-looking information such as actual inflation rates in the past rather than on the forward-looking forecasts by experts. Second, it is found that the expectation formation is varying as inflation rate changes. Specifically, when the inflation is high, the sensitivity of the households' inflation expectations to actual inflation increases and the gap between inflation expectations and actual inflation shrinks. It implies that Korean households update their expectations more frequently when the inflation matters than not.

Coupled-Line Directional Coupler Using Artificial Transmission Line (인공전송선로를 이용한 결합선로 방향성 결합기)

  • In this paper, a coupled line directional coupler using an LUC(Low-pass filter Unit Cell) of artificial transmission line is presented. The conventional coupled line coupler is limited in length by the ${\lambda}/4$ transmission line while the proposed coupling structure is implemented smaller than $90^{\circ}$ by inserting the phase delay line between two coupled line, reduced in physical size by configuring a phase delay line with an LUC having the characteristics of a typical transmission line in a particular frequency. A coupler having -10 dB coupling factor at the center frequency of 700 MHz is designed, fabricated. The measured result agrees well with that of conventional one. The length of the fabricated coupled line coupler has about 45 % in length compared to the conventional one.
