The rapid advances in information technologies have resulted in not only the proliferation of the amount of information available but also the variety of information formats. Information literacy is the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information. Therefore, information literacy which should be the core goal of the university education has been a new trend of the library instruction. Nevertheless, despite the increasing Interest in the information literacy. there has been little discussion about educational Programs. and there has been little coordination between faculty and librarians on the programs. Under such circumstances, campus-wide teamwork is needed so that the library instruction can become part of the entire learning Processes of university education. This Paper presents an overview of the models adopted by foreign university libraries and also analyses the successful cases of the campus-wide partnership of each model of information literacy programs. Based on these. the outline of the needed procedure for the enforcement of the information literacy in the university of our country is suggested.

With the recent opening of The National Library for Individuals with Disabilities, interests in library services for the disable have been increasing. For the purpose of promoting library services for the disabled all the more, the study is to provide cooperative plans in policy between the social welfare and the library and information service based on library perceptions of social workers as specialists in disability and welfare fields. Cooperative plans in policy provided by this study are as follows: (1) The unique communication channel between librarians and social workers should be constructed through social networks. (2) Public relations on the value and necessity of both the library and librarians should be enhanced. (3) Education on the expertise of the social welfare for librarians should be enriched. (4) Clear-cut identities between librarian's and social worker's tasks should be established.

This study believed that records could help 'strengthen identity' and that job archives could help provide pride and identity in one's job by preserving the history and culture of it. This study investigated whether building a librarian archive could help preserve records related to librarians, share experiences and knowledge among librarians, and confirm the history and identity of oneself and the group. In-depth interviews were conducted with librarians to examine what records should be included and what records could help strengthen the librarian's identity. As a result of the interview, various records related to the work of librarians were identified, and records related to the history of librarians were also confirmed. It was found that historical events related to librarians and library services provided by previous generations of librarians will help strengthen the identity of librarians. Thus, the Librarian Archive can help librarians reflect on themselves as librarians and decide on their own direction. This study presented a plan to build a librarian archive as a participatory archive through cooperation between institutions and communities. In this study, it was expected that through building a librarian archive, it would be possible to strengthen the professional identity of librarians, share the history of librarians, create a collective intelligence platform, efficiently process work, and improve the social status of libraries and librarians.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the educational service of school libraries and to seek effective ways to revitalize the services following an analysis of the influence size and the cause and effect of each factor. For this, after deciding the variables through a comprehensive investigation based on documentary research, the variables were operationalized. These variables are school members' recognition and support, teacher librarians' expertise, cooperation between teachers and teacher librarians, the school curriculum, a shortage of teacher librarians' time, the educational environment and educational services. Fourteen hypotheses on the cause and effect among the seven variables were analyzed by applying SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). The result is that the key factors of educational services are teacher librarians' expertise, cooperation between subject teachers and teacher librarians, and the school curriculum. As a result, active methods for the educational services of school libraries were sought.

The purpose of this study is to examine the students' and teachers' perception about the roles and qualifications of teacher librarians. For this purpose, data were collected through survey from students and teachers at secondary schools and the data were analyzed by semantic network analysis. The results of the research are as follows: First, students usually perceived the role of teacher librarians as 'library management', and teachers did as 'reading education'. Second, among the roles of teacher librarians, it was confirmed that students' and teachers' perceptions of 'information literacy instruction and library instruction' were very weak. Third, while the students' perception of the role of a teacher librarian as a 'teaching collaborator' such as 'teaching and learning support' and 'library assisted instruction and collaborative instruction' was weak, teachers recognized the role of teacher librarians as 'teaching collaborators'. Fourth, students and teachers perceived high levels of 'information service', which consists of 'book recommendation and guide activities'. Finally, it was investigated that 'professionalism' plays a central role in the students' and teachers' perception about the qualities of teacher librarians. These results can be used to establish the role of teacher librarians, develop response strategies for students and teachers, and improve their awareness.

In this knowledge-based society of this age, librarianship takes a professional position and requires essential principles of ethics that has to be observed. Therefore, library associations and professional communities all over the world have released criteria and code of ethics to make their professional positions to keep. This research investigated and analyzed the codes of ethics for librarians in United States, Great Britain, Japan, and South Korea which are based on the mission of each library of each country. Based on these analysis and comparison, this research proposed more advanced codes of ethics for South Korea. The proposed model of codes of ethics consists of two parts: ethics for information and ethics for professional positions. The ethics for information contains six essential elements: equal access and services for information, denial of inspection, protection of privacy, neutralization of librarian, and security of intellectual freedom. The ethics for professional positions consists of 8 essential aspects: exclusion of personal benefit, continuous efforts for developing knowledge, keep the professional position, conflicts between professional task and organization, relationship with co-workers, ensure the conditions of rights and welfare for employees, cooperations among libraries, and contribution for creation of new culture.

The Academic library services are based on specialized subject resources in academic fields in order to maximize the desirable direction of its services. Accordingly, there are some academic libraries introduced and applied subject specialist librarians. However, they can not objectively analyze the strengths and weaknesses as well as future directions to subject specialized service. The purpose of this study examined three library cases which the structure of organized subject specialist librarian. It tried to give a set of effective guidelines for academic libraries to introduce subject specialist librarian. Analysis showed that the initial problems of subject specialist librarians in its early stages are appeared: carrying out the role, appraisal-results in human resource decision making such as rewards and promotion. In order to successful introduction of subject specialist librarian in academic library, there are solutions that solving the problems which happen in early stage, active guidance and public relations strategy for faculty, approaching to activate integration within its library and cooperating among academic libraries should be back up for improving effectiveness in the long term.

Innovation in university library spaces is challenging to effectively support the education of the university's future learning and innovation capabilities, including creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception and need of library space from the perspective of users and librarians, and to suggest the direction of space innovation through this. For this study, we designed each questionnaire for users and librarians, and collected responses from 363 users and 186 librarians in the university library to analyze their needs and perceptions about their library space. The librarian's need for the space was analyzed by the size of the library and the demographic factors of the librarian. The user's need was analyzed by the user's attributes. In addition, we analyzed the differences between librarians and users for the need for space and space services. The results of this paper may be useful for reference when planning a new library or building a space based on user.

This study aims to investigate and analyze the current status of book curation operation in elementary school libraries in Busan and the perception of librarians, and then to propose a plan to activate book curation in school libraries. A list of 304 school libraries in the Busan area was secured using the current status of school libraries in the 2021 National Library Statistical System. And then after selecting 121 school libraries with librarians, 83 schools that decided to participate in the survey were selected as final research subjects. Based on the current status of book curation operation and the results of the librarian's perception survey, the following are proposed as a way to activate the book curation of the school library: 1) expansion and provision of specialized formal education on book curation, 2) development and dissemination of materials related to the operation of school library book curation, 3) continuous efforts of librarians to strengthen the capacity for book curation, 4) between school library librarians collaboration and information sharing.

This study is to recognize the function of the regional central library's role and to address its support to the community public libraries ; such is one of the focuses of the revised library law. Through the mixed layer model, the regional central library can contribute to a better cooperation between the national central library and community public library in each region. Regional libraries. under the supervision of regional library service committee, can execute many local enterprises efficiently such as library informatization projects. the associative storage, the regional librarian education and the establishment of information commons through integrating the regional information.
