Prediction of maximum tsunami heights using neural network (인공신경망기반의 최대 지진해일고 예측)

  • 지진해일은 해저지진, 화산활동, 해저 산사태 등에 의해 발생되는 장주기 파랑이다. 지진해일은 발생빈도가 낮지만, 한번 발생하면 많은 에너지가 연안으로 유입되어 인명 및 재산피해를 야기 시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 과거 수십년동안 지진해일에 대한 연구는 지진해일의 역학관계를 이해하고, 이를 바탕으로 한 수치모델 개발에 초점을 두어 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 더욱이, 지진해일 실험적 연구는 많은 경제적 비용을 지불해야 하기에 수치모델개발 연구가 더욱 중점적으로 수행되어 왔다. 지리학적으로 우리나라는 지진해일에 안전하지 못하다. 하나의 예로, 1983년 5월 26일, 일본 서해안에서 발생한 지진해일은 동해로 전파되어 동해안 지역에 커다란 피해를 야기시켰다. 이 당시, 강원도삼척시 원덕읍에 위치한 임원항에서는 2명의 사상자와 2명의 부상자가 발생하였고, 당시 금액으로 약3억원의 재산피해가 발생하였다. 이 연구는 인공지능 기법 중 하나인 인공신경망을 이용하여 인명과 재산피해가 발생한 임원항에서 최대지진해일고를 예측하고자 하였다. 지진해일 수치모델은 뛰어난 정확도를 나타내는 반면, 결과를 산출하는데 상당한 시간을 필요로 한다. 이에 반해, 인공신경망은 수치모델과 유사한 정확도 및 결과를 신속하게 제공할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 지진해일 인공신경망 모델 개발은 지진의 단층파라미터를 바탕으로 작성된 지진해일의 시나리오를 토대로 연구가 진행되었고, 우리나라 동해에 위치한 외해 관측 지점의 지진해일고 자료를 통해, 임원항에서의 최대 지진해일고가 예측되도록 개발되었다. 이를 위하여, 인공신경망의 학습 및 검증 과정을 수행하였고, 향후 발생 가능한 다양한 지진해일에 대해 평가함으로써, 인공신경망 모델의 예측성능을 확인하였다.

  • 지진해일은 많은 인명피해를 입힐 수 있는 위험한 자연재해이며, 예를 들어 각각 약 25만명과 약 2만명의 사상자가 발생하였던 2004년 수마트라 지진해일과 2011년 동일본 지진해일 등이 있다. 우리나라 동해안 또한 향후 지진 발생 가능성이 큰 지진공백역이 존재하여 안전한 지역으로 볼 수 없다. 지진해일 방재대책 수립과 관련된 연구는 지속적으로 이루어지고 있지만 지진해일의 발생빈도는 적고 완벽히 대응하는 것은 현실적으로 불가능하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지진해일 방재대책의 가장 기본적인 자료로 이용될 수 있는 지진해일 침수예상도를 효율적인 방법으로 제작하는 것을 연구했다. 현재 우리나라의 지진해일 최대 침수예상도는 과거 및 향후 발생가능한 지진해일의 경우에 대한 모든 범람구역이 고려된 보수적인 방법으로 제작되고 있다. 지진원의 위치와 각 매개변수의 특성에 따라 범람구역이 다양하게 나타날 수 있기 때문에 보수적인 최대 침수예상도는 과도한 범람구역이 고려될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 보수적인 최대 침수예상도와 비교하여 AI기술과 로직트리 기법을 통해 더 정확한 최대 침수예상도를 제작하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구방법은 1) 고려된 모든 지진해일 시나리오에 대한 수치해석 2) 입력자료인 지진해일 초기수면 변위 이미지 증강 3) CNN모델을 활용한 초기수면 변위 이미지 분류 4) 분류된 결과의 범람 구역으로 최대 침수예상도를 제작하였다. 향후 연구결과는 지진해일 재해정보도 제작 및 지진해일 침수예측 모델 개발에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Among the fire incidents in Korea over the past decade, building fires are the most common, and property and human casualties are the most common. However, the existing fire fighting system does not only inform the location of emergency exits and guide safe routes to help casualties evacuate smoothly. A system was proposed to help successful evacuation by distinguishing vertical and horizontal characteristics using spatial characteristics. In this study, an effective evacuation system was proposed by predicting fires using temperature detection sensors and smoke sensor values, and calculating the optimal evacuation path through the Dijkstra algorithm.

A Study on the Development of an Estimation Model: The Psychological Cost of Traffic Accidents (교통사고의 심리적 비용 산정모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This dissertation studied the psychological cost, which converted the mental pain suffered by the victim of a traffic accident and his/her family, friends and people around him/her into social costs. Three methodologies - Choice Experiments, Direct Question and Dichotomous Choice Question - were used to design questionnaires, and models were built for each questionnaire design method. When building models, a logit model was used, which is used most frequently in probabilistic choice model. And the tobitmodel was used to make direct questionnaires. When verifying these models, although there were some differences in each model, suitability of most models and credibility of each coefficient were meaningful around the credibility level of 95%. According to the analysis, domestic psychological cost produced through the assessment model of psychological cost was 15.63 million won per person or 5.1 trillion in total, assuming 37.1% of total traffic accident cost.

The Antioxidant Activity of Cnidii Fructus and Torilis Fructus in Leydig cells (Leydig Cell의 항산화에 미치는 벌사상자와 사상자의 비교연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to estimate the antioxidant activity of water extract of Cnidii Fructus (CF) and Torilis Fructus (TF) in Leydig cells. Methods : Free radical scavenging activity of CF and TF against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) was determined spectrophotometrically. We investigated the effect of CF and TF in Leydig cells by MTT assay. The protective effects of CF and TF against hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress in Leydig cells. Superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase activity assays were performed in Leydig cells. Results : The results showed that CF scavenged DPPH radical in a dose-dependent manner by up to 81.2%, TF scavenged DPPH radical in a dose-dependent manner by up to 63.8%. CF showed cell viability as 121.0, 132.7, 126.6% in 5, 10, $100{\mu}g/ml$ concentrations. TF showed cell viability as 127.5, 111.8% in 5, $100{\mu}g/ml$ concentraions, respectively. The hydrogen peroxide-induced cytotoxicity of Leydig cells were protected to 86.3% by CF at concentration of $10{\mu}g/ml$ and protected to 83.5% by TF at concentration of $100{\mu}g/ml$. Both CF and TF at all concentrations, SOD activity was not significantly changed. Catalase activity was significantly increased at 10, $100{\mu}g/ml$ concentrations of CF, respectively. TF's catalase activity showed no significant difference from that of the control. Conclusions : These results suggest that CF, as an antioxidant, protects Leydig cells in hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress. know that "Kwangjebikeup" played a role in settlement and spreading of foreign knowledge to civilians.

Numerical Study on the Improvement Heat and Smoke Control System in Old Subway Station on Train Fire (수치해석을 통한 노후 지하철 역사 내 열차 화재 시 제연모드 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The subway can transport a lot of people at a certain route at once, and the railway and the platform are underground, so it is advantageous to use the ground space efficiently. But If a fire occurs in a subway that is used by an unspecified number of people, such as the Daegu Subway Fire Disaster, many casualties can occur. As a result of the previous research, it was confirmed that the performance of the ventilation system of the old subway platform was remarkably degraded. Therefore, in this study, based on the experimental results of the previous research, we confirmed the flow of the hot and CO flows according to the ventilation mode in the case of fire by three - dimensional numerical analysis. As a result, it was found that the old ventilation system could not maintain the hot air temperature below the reference value for 4 minutes based on the evacuation time of the platform, and when the ventilation performance was enhanced by adding Oversized Exhaust Ports at the upper part of the platform, And the temperature of the heat flow can be maintained.

  • Recently, natural disasters including earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, and snowstorms, in addition to disasters of human origin such as arson, and acts of terror, have caused numerous injuries and fatalities around the world. During such disasters, victims need to obtain information such as the exact location of the disaster and appropriate evacuation routes in order to relocate to safe areas. In this study, We propose the algorithm for Emergency Rescue Evacuation Support System(ERESS). In case a emergency disaster occurs, ERESS is possible to detect it quickly using through the movement of people. The mobile terminal analyzes behavior and location of indoor pedestrian. And it sends the result to the server. The server determines whether an emergency situation occurred or not based on the received transmission information. When an emergency situation occurs, the server will notify it to the mobile terminal. Then, indoor pedestrian conduct emergency evacuation using mobile terminal.

  • Trucking is the most frequently used mode for freight movement due to relatively lower shipping costs and its operational flexibility. However, truck traffic can contribute to serious safety problems where they occupy high percentage of the total traffic. Heavy truck crashes arc more likely to result in serious injuries and fatalities than are crashes involving light vehicles. Therefore, safety issues for truck traffic are very significant both for public agencies and for general travelers. The objective of our study is to find truck-involved accident patterns according to traffic conditions and main factors as well as to find the most critical factor through conventional statistical techniques. A vailable data were obtained from TASAS (Traffic Accident Surveillance and Analysis System). Once critical factors are identified, effective and efficient truck management strategies can be discussed.

Analysis about Seismic Displacements Based on GPS for Management of Natural Disaster (자연재난 관리를 위한 GPS 기반의 지진재해 분석)

  • On March 11, 2011, an 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastem coast Japanese. It was the largest earthquake that hit Japan since the beginning of modern seismometry. The earthquake occurred 179km east of the Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, leaving about 27,000 of people confirmed dead, injured or missing due to the earthquake and tsunami. In this study, crustal Deformation in Mizusawa, Tsukuba and Usuda station were calculated based on GPS data in IGS station of Japan. The observation data were processed by precise point positioning and relative-positioning method using on-line GPS data processing services and a high precision scientific GPS/GLONASS data processing software. The coseismic displacements in IGS stations before and after the earthquake were analyzed using kinematic precise point positioning method, and the crustal deformation of the areas before and after the earthquake were precisely calculated using the relative-positioning method. The results of the study calculated precise coordination that the RMSE is maximum ${\pm}0.003m$, respectively and showed that Mizusawa station moved 2.6m southeast by the earthquake.

Characteristics of Damaging Earthquakes Occurred in Seoul Metropolitan Area for the Last Two Thousand Years (과거 2000년간 서울 및 수도권에서 발생한 피해 지진의 특성)

  • The Seoul metropolitan area is densely populated with 40 percent of Korean people and quite weak to the seismic hazard. According to the analysis of historical documents, the largest earthquake occurred in this area is MMI VIII-IX acompanying with a large shaking, collapse of stone walls, collapse of houses, and many casualties. Two times of damaging earthquakes occurred in the first century (A.D. 27, 89), and there was a long quiet period of about 1430 years. Another big earthquakes re-occurred three times in the 16-17 century (1518, 1613, 1692) and then a quiet period has continued to the present time. Just after Seoul earthquake in 1518, aftershocks occurred almost 19 days consecutively and many triggered earthquakes occurred not only in Seoul metropolitan area but also in Hwanghae province, northern Korea. It indicates that the largest potential earthquake in and around Seoul is MMI VIII-IX with a long occurrence period of about 1400-1500 years.
