Improvement of Atmospheric Dispersion Assessment for Accidental Releases Using a Fuzzy Logic Inference Method (퍼지 논리 추론 방법을 이용한 사고시 대기확산 평가 개선)

  • In order to assess the atmospheric dispersion for the accidental releases of nuclear power plants, in calculating X/Q values in the XOQAR and PAVAN codes which are based on Reg. Guide 1.145, the X/Q and frequency values are plotted on log-normal paper. Starting with the highest X/Q value of this plot, the codes compare the slope of the line drawn from this point to every other point within an increment containing ten X/Q values. If there are fewer than ten values, only the number available are used. The coefficients that produce the line with the least negative slope are saved. The end point of this line is used as the next starting point, from which slopes to the points within the next increment, containing ten X/Q values, are compared. The X/Q values corresponding to the cumulative frequency values 0.5%, 5% or 50% are calculated to search for the $0{\sim}2$ hour X/Q value that tends to be a very conservative value. In this work, a fuzzy logic inference method is used for nonlinear interpolation of the X/Q values versus the cumulative frequency. The fuzzy logic inference method is known to be a food technique for nonlinear interpolation. The proposed method was applied to a potential accidential radioactive release of the Yonggwang nuclear power plant, which gives more realistic X/Q values.

Importance Analysis of Radiological Exposure by Ground Deposition in Potential Accident Consequences for the Licensing Approval of a Nuclear Power Plant (원전 인허가승인을 위한 사고결말평가에서 지표침적에 의한 피폭의 민감도 분석)

  • In potential accident consequence assessments for the licensing approval of LWRs, the ground deposition of radionuclides released into the environment is not allowed into the models, as recommended in the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's regulatory guide. Meanwhile, it is allowed into the assessment models for the licensing approval of PHWRs with consideration of more detailed physical processes of radionuclides in the atmosphere. Under these backgrounds, importance of exposure dose by ground deposition was quantitatively evaluated and comprehensively discussed. For potential accidental releases of $^{137}Cs$ and $^{131}I$, total exposure doses were more conservative in case of without consideration of ground deposition than in case of with its consideration. It was because of that the depletion of air concentration resulting from ground deposition is more influential in the contribution to total exposure doses than additional doses from contaminated ground. The exposure doses by the inhalation of contaminated air showed the contribution of more than 90% in total exposure doses, depending on atmospheric stability, release period of radionuclides and distance from a release point. The exposure doses from contaminated ground showed less than 10% at most in contribution of total exposure doses. The ratios of total exposure doses in case of with consideration of deposition to without its consideration for $^{131}I$ were distinct than those for $^{137}Cs$. As the atmosphere is more stable, release duration of radionuclides is longer, distance from a release point is longer, it was more distinct.

An Analysis on the Spatial Pattern of Local Safety Level Index Using Spatial Autocorrelation - Focused on Basic Local Governments, Korea (공간적 자기상관을 활용한 지역안전지수의 공간패턴 분석 - 기초지방자치단체를 중심으로)

  • Risk factors that threaten public safety such as crime, fire, and traffic accidents have spatial characteristics. Since each region has different dangerous environments, it is necessary to analyze the spatial pattern of risk factors for each sector such as traffic accident, fire, crime, and living safety. The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of local safety level index, which act as an index that rates the safety level of each sector (traffic accident, fire, crime, living safety, suicide, and infectious disease) for basic local governments across the nation. The following analysis tools were used to analyze the spatial autocorrelation of local safety level index : Global Moran's I, Local Moran's I, and Getis-Ord's G⁎i. The result of the analysis shows that the distribution of safety level on traffic accidents, fire, and suicide tends to be more clustered spatially compared to the safety level on crime, living safety, and infectious disease. As a result of analyzing significant spatial correlations between different regions, it was found that the Seoul metropolitan areas are relatively safe compared to other cities based on the integrated index of local safety. In addition, hot spot analysis using statistical values from Getis-Ord's G⁎i derived three hot spots(Samchuck, Cheongsong-gun, and Gimje) in which safety-vulnerable areas are clustered and 15 cold spots which are clusters of areas with high safety levels. These research findings can be used as basic data when the government is making policies to improve the safety level by identifying the spatial distribution and the spatial pattern in areas with vulnerable safety levels.

Influence of the change of driving confidence level upon driving behavior in the age groups (운전확신수준의 변화가 연령별 운전행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to study the relation between the change of driver's driving confidence level in the age categories and driving behavior. To survey the driving confidence level, we used the 'Driving Confidence Scale' questionnaire and surveyed the drive career, mileage, driving days, violation of traffic regulation (drunk driving, overspeed), traffic accident experience (assaulter, sufferer) together. The subjects of investigation were from 19-year-old to 80-year-old and 1,055 persons were participated in the research totally. To examinethe structure of driving confidence level, we executed the factor analysis. We compared the driving confidence level in the age categories (under 29-year-old, 30~39, 40~49, 50~64, over 65-year-old) and studied the relation between driving confidence level and driving behavior. Driving confidence level was composed of 4 factors such as 'insensibility to situation', 'unsafe driving', 'careless concentration' and 'self-efficacy of driving', and there was decreasing tendency for driving confidence level and overall driving behavior according to increasing age. Driving confidence level had the interrelation with age range, assaulting accident, suffered accident, driving period, drunk driving, overspeed, driving career and so on. We examined the difference of driving confidence level and driving behavior by dividing the participated drivers' groups into the traffic accident experienced group, drunk driving group and overspeed driving group, and there was a significant difference on driving confidence level and driving behavior between the group who had not experienced the violation of traffic regulation or traffic accident and another group who had experienced the violation of traffic regulation or traffic accident.

퇴적 마그네슘의 승온속도와 열분해특성

  • 마그네슘은 스마트폰, 전자기기 케이스, 내화벽돌과 아크용접봉 제조시의 첨가물 등으로 사용되고 있는데, 최근에는 재활용을 위한 마그네슘 용해로를 취급하거나 가공하는 사업장이 증가하고 있어 사고위험성이 높아지고 있다. 금속분을 취급하는 사업장에서의 금속분진은 저장이나 축적 등과 같이 주로 퇴적물로서 존재한다. 퇴적분진의 발화온도는 퇴적물 형상과 두께, 입경, 분위기 가스의 유속, 산소농도, 부유분진의 농도, 퇴적밀도, 수분 등의 많은 영향인자가 관여하기 때문에 이론적 예측이 힘들고 실험적인 측정에 의존할 수 밖에 없는 것이 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 연소성이 높고 화재폭발사고사례가 많은 마그네슘(Mg) 분진을 사용하여 승온속도 변화에 따른 열분해특성을 조사하였다. 퇴적분진의 열적특성을 조사하기 위하여 METTLER TOLEDO의 TGA/DSC1를 사용하였으며, Mg 시료의 평균입경은 38, $142{\mu}m$이다. 입경 $38{\mu}m$의 Mg 시료의 열중량분석 결과, 중량증가는 $400{\sim}500^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 시작되며 $550^{\circ}C$에서 급격하게 중량이 증가하고 있으며, 증량증가개시온도(Temperature of weight gain)는 $460^{\circ}C$에서 시작하여 $900{\sim}950^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 중량 증가 포화값에 도달하였다. 입경 $142{\mu}m$의 Mg에 대하여 공기중 승온속도를 5, 10, $20^{\circ}C/min$으로 변화시키면서 실온에서 $900^{\circ}C$까지 가열 시키는 경우의 시료의 중량 변화에 따른 열분해 특성은 승온속도가 증가할수록 2단계의 S자 곡선은 완만하게 상승을 나타내며 중량증가개시온도가 높아지는 경향을 보이고 있다. 중량증가개시온도가 승온속도에 따라 변화하는 결과를 나타내고는 있지만, 시료량의 증가에 따른 영향을 열중량분석 실험방법의 제약으로 인하여 확인할 수 가 없었다. 그러나 만일 시료량이 크게 증가하는 경우에는 동일한 승온조건에서 중량증가 개시온도는 낮아질 가능성이 있다. 중량증가는 시료의 산화반응에 의한 것이므로 시료량의 증가는 시료 내부에의 열의 축적을 용이하게 하여 보다 낮은 온도에서도 산화반응이 충분히 일어나는 조건이 형성되기 때문이다. 승온속도가 증가할수록 산화 반응한 괴상형태의 연소입자가 크게 증가하고 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 승온속도에 따른 중량개시온도 곡선을 보면 [그림 24]와 같으며 승온속도 5, 10, $20^{\circ}C/min$의 증가에 따라 중량개시온도는 각각 490, 510, $530^{\circ}C$가 얻어졌으며 승온속도의 증가에 따라 중량개시온도가 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있다.

제도 운영과 수학교육과 교육과정

  • 국가의 국가경쟁력은 학창시절 학생의 학력만큼 중요하다. 성인의 경우, 학력을 위한 노하우는 체험을 통해 터득할 수 있었다. 그러나 국가경쟁력에 관해서는 우물 안 내부관점을 벗어나기 힘들어 추진 방향과 제도 운영에 자칫 시행착오를 범하기 쉽다. 이는 사안에 대해 본질적인 접근보다 껍데기만을 쫓기 때문이었다. 이 현상을 분석하려면 관점과 보이지 않는 영역의 것들을 다룰 수 있는 수학적 사고법이 필요하며, 이 능력은 현 지식정보화 사회에서 매우 긴요하다. 그러나 현실은 여러 가지 이유로 수학적 사고법을 비롯한 기초학문을 위기로 몰아가고 있고, 안타깝지만 그 중심에 수학교육이 자리잡고 있다. 수학교육의 위기를 유발하는 요인으로 제도 운영에 관한 건이 있다. 제도 운영에서 한 변수의 변화, 예로 대입의 계열교차지원 허용 건, 교원임용고시에서 교과교육학 영역의 출제 건과 복수전공, 부전공 자격소지자에 대한 가산점 부여 건은 수학교육과 교육과정에 직, 간접적으로 영향을 미친다. 이 관계를 사범대학 수학교육과 현장의 사례를 통하여 조명하고, 그 문제점을 지적하고자 한다. 현 사범교육은 졸업이수학점 140학점 체제하에서 제 7차 교육과정에 따른 복수전공, 부전공 우대 정책을 펴고 있다. 수학교육과의 경우, 부전공 열풍이 불어 전공선택 과목이 3학년 1학기부터 폐강될 위기에 처해 있다. 교양교육의 고사 또는 전광교육이 예전보다 반으로 줄어들게 된 사범대학 실상에 비애감을 느끼게 된다. 이는 전문화된 교사 양성, 나아가 미래 국가경쟁력 향상에 심각한 저해 요소로 작용할 것이다. 복잡다단한 세상에서 최적화를 향한 개선 노력이 멈춰서는 안 된다. 현행 교원임용고시 운영상의 문제점을 공론화하고, 수학교육인의 중지를 모아야 할 긴박한 시점이다. 이를 계기로 교원임용고시의 운영개선과 수학교육과 교육과정을 한층 더 견실하게 하는 데에 이바지하고자 한다. 것이라면 후속연구로 이러한 가능성을 실험연구로 검증하고자 한다.toceros resting spores/Chaetoceroe vegetative cells도 80 cm 보다 상층에서는 높게 나타나 규조온도지수 분포와도 일치하는 경향을 보인다. 이상의 규조군집 분석 결과에 의하면, 홀로세의 후빙기동안 본 연구 지역인 동해 북동부에는 대마 난류의 유입이후 현재와 유사한 환경이 우세하게 발달했으나, 난류종 P. doliolus의 변화는 동해내에서 대마난류의 세기가 반복되었음을 지시하고 있다./3 수준으로 높다. 결론적으로 풍부한 화학물질들을 함유한 제주해류는 남해 및 동해의 생지화학적 과정들에 있어 상당히 중요함을 시사한다.다. 수조 상층수 중 Cu, Cd, As 농도는 모든 FW, SW수조에서 시간이 지남에 따라 일관성 있게 감소하였고, 제거속도는 Cu가 다른 원소에 비해 빨랐다. 제거속도는 FW 3개 수조 중 FW5&6에서 세 원소 모두 가장 느렸고, SW 3개 수조 중에서는 SW1&2에서 가장 빨랐다. SW와 FW간 제거속도 차이는 세 원소 모두 명확치 않았다 Cr은 FW에서 전반적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였지만 SW에서는 실험 초기에 감소하다 24시간 이후에는 증가 후 일정한 양상을 보였다. Pb은 FW에서 전반적으로 감소했지만 SW에서는 초기에 급격히 증가 후 다시 급격히 감소하는 양상을 보였다 Pb 또한 Cu, Cd, As와 마찬가지로 SW1&2에서 제거속도가 가장 빠르게 나타났다. FW 상층수 중 Hg는 시간에 따라 급격히 감소했고, 제거속도는 Fw5&6에서 가장 느렸다. 이러한 결과에 근거할 때 벼가 자라고 있고 이분해성 유기물이 풍부한 FW1&2, FW3&4 토양과 상층수에서는 유기물의 분해 활동이 활발하였지만, 벼가 경작되지 않는 FW5&6과 SW 에서는 유기물이 상대적으로 결핍되어 유기물의 분해활동이 적었을 것으로 판단된다

Effect of current documentary on viewer's political & social recognition - focused on KBS disaster documentary, (시사 다큐멘터리 프로그램이 수용자의 정치적 사회적 인식에 미치는 영향 - KBS 재난 다큐멘터리, <현장르포, 후쿠시마의 진실>을 중심으로)

  • This experimental research as media effect study explores the effect of the current documentary that deals with radioactive contamination widely spread by fukushima nuclear accident on political and social recognition of domestic audience. Proceeding studies about media effect dealt mainly with news contents of TV, newspaper and internet. However studies on the effect of current documentary as non news contents on audience that provide us with profound information by various subjects are very few. Especially it is difficult to find studies about disaster documentary dealing with radioactive contamination having much effect on global environment. Accordingly this research implemented experimental study to find out the effect of current documentary that deals with radioactive contamination by fukushima nuclear accident on political and social recognition of audience. This research found that subjects exposed to the current documentary considered outdated nuclear power plant more seriously, supporting the opposition party more positively, claiming shutdown of outdated nuclear power plant, and opposing additive construction of nuclear power plant than subjects not exposed to the current documentary.

The Effect of Safety Education on Accident Proneness Prospect in Preschooler (안전교육이 학령전기 아동의 사고경향 예측에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data on preschool children for accident prevention and improve their health through sound, safe living environment with safety education established through more systematic method. Data were collected from 300 preschoolers(150 preschooler are assigned to experimental group and 150 preschoolers are assigned to control group) from 4 to 6 years old using APP paper test which consists of questions and drawings. To experimental group, safety education were done 4 times within the time of 30 minutes per 1 time using education books, video, OHP, slide. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. There were significant difference in behavioral character between experimental group and control group(χ2=11.690, p= 0.003). So, safety education have effect on the behavioral character of preschooler. 2. In the accident proneness on preschooler between experimental group and control group according to general characteristics, it proved significant difference in the case of accident prevention education were done, movement stability(χ2=8.844, p=0.012) and behavioral character(χ2=6.699, p=0.035), in the case of housing pattern is mixed-type, behavioral character(χ2=10.37, p=0.006), in the case of subjects' age is 4 years old, watchfulness(χ2=9.525, p=0.009), in the case of subjects' age is 5 years old, behavioral character(χ2=7.324, p=0.026), in the case of children's order is second, behavioral character(χ2=14.31, p=0.001), in the case of children's sex is boy, living safety(χ2=7.981, p=0.018), movement speed (χ2=6.661, p=0.036), bihavioral character(χ2=8.837, p=0.012), in the case of children's sex is girl, reasoning power(χ2 =9.78, p=0.008), in the case of childrens have no past accidental experience, behavioral character(χ2=9.862, p=0.007), in the case of nuclear family, movement speed(χ2=6.341, p=0.042) and behavioral character(χ2=9.326, p=0.009), in the case of mothers' age is under thirty behavioral character(χ2=16.40, p=0.000), in the case of mothers' school career is under high school graduate, behavioral character(χ2 =8.375, p=0.015), in the case of mothers' school career is beyond college graduate, reasoning power(χ2=9.803, p=0.007) and behavioral character(χ2=6.205, p=0.045), in the case of mothers' job is part time, movement speed(χ2=10.99, p=0.004), in the case of mothers have no job, movement stability(χ2=8.490, p=0.014) and behavioral character(χ2=10.11, p=0.006). The difference of accident proneness between experimental group and control group according to general characteristics, it also showed that there were significant difference in behavioral character compared to other area.. From this findings, we can guess that safety education change and guide preschoolers' behavioral character to desirable direction.

The Critical Thinking of Philosophy as a Creative Method of Science: Neurophilosophical Explication (창의적 과학방법으로서 철학의 비판적 사고: 신경철학적 해명)

  • This study is a proposal, which is the trial to explicate, in neurology, on how critical thinking as a creative method of sciences functions. The creative methods of sciences, even at present, are mostly the hypothetical insistences concerning with the logical processes of researches suggested from the philosophers of science; Popper, Kuhn, Hempel, or Lakatos. These insistences do excavate what process or approach can be scoped out of scientists' creativity. I call the tendency or approach of the researches, "Process Approach of Creativity (PAC)". From my view point, any PAC trial does not concern with how creative theories can actually be invented. On the other hand, this study is focused on the philosophical thinking abilities of scientists who invented new great theories. They mostly had some experiences to study philosophy while studying their science fields, thus had critical thinking abilities on their studies. From my point of view, critical thinking in philosophy raised questions as to their fundamental and basic (old) concepts and principles, and thus gave them new creative theories. I will try to explain this from the point of neurophilosophy. From the perspectives coming from "the state space theory of representation" of Paul & Patricia Churchland, the pioneers of neurophilosphy, the "creative theories" are the networks of topographic maps giving new comprehensive explanations and predictions. From these perspectives, I presuppose that the attitude of critical questioning revises the old networks of maps with back-propagation or feedback, and thus, is the generative power of searching new networks of maps. From the presupposition, I can say, it is important that scientists reflect on the basic premises in their academic branches for issuing out extraordinary creativity. The critical attitude of philosophy can make scientists construct the maps of new conceptual scheme by shaking the maps of the old basic premises. From this context, I am able to propose "Critical Thinking Approach of Creativity (CTAC)".

Psychological effects on elderly driver's traffic accidents (고령운전자 교통사고의 심리적 요인)

  • Korean society is rapidly changing to aging society comparing the other industrialized countries, however, the studies of elderly driver's driving behavior and accidents are not enough in Korea for elderly driver's accident prevention. This study focused on the elderly driver's psychological effects on elderly driver's driving behavior and traffic accidents; carefulness and aberrant driving behavior. - Elderly driver's traffic accidents The high percentage of elderly driver's accidents occurs in intersections and when turning left. There was a significant difference of the opponent vehicle's speed when left turn, between elderly driver and young driver; the elderly driver choose the higher speed of opponent vehicle than young driver when left turning. This result means that elderly driver has some problems with deciding the vehicle's speed and gap acceptance(Sunyeol Lee, Soonchul Lee, and Inseok Kim, 2006)(Table 1). - Carefulness and driving confidence In order to understand elderly driver's carefulness, this study compared the elderly driver's driving confidence. Driving confidence was consisted of 4 factors; environment of traffic condition, safe driving, driving ability and attention. Elderly driver's confidence was lower than young driver's. Elderly driver in high driving confidence group, showed longer driving history and they were tend to commit violations more frequently than elerly driver in low driving confidence group. Young driver, whose driving confidence level was high answered more driving history, annual mileage, the frequency of committing traffic violation and the experience of accident within lats 5 years(Soonchul Lee, Juseok Oh, Sunjin Park, Soonyeol Lee and Inseok Kim, 2006)(Table 2). This study examined the total time required until deciding to turn left in the no traffic signal intersection between elderly driver and young driver. The result showed that the time of elderly driver was significant longer than young driver(Sunyeol Lee et al, 2006)(Table 3). - Elderly driver's aberrant behavior Driver behavior Questionnaire(DBQ) was measured to understand the aberrant behavior; violation, error and lapse. The tend of aberrant behavior was observed by aging(Sunjin Park, Soonchul Lee, Jonghoi, Kim and Inseok Kim, 2006). Elderly driver's DBQ score was lower than young driver's(Table 4). Elderly and young driver showing longer driving history were in low DBQ score group. Elderly driver had high error score and young driver had high violation score. Young driver's aberrant driving behaviour was associated with annual mileage and the frequency of committing traffic violation. Elderly driver's aberrant driving behaviour was associated with annual mileage and experience of accident. Especially elderly driver whose violation, error and lapse score was high answered more committing experience of accident within last 5 years.
